Monologue Of A Baby Sister
Jeff and Jennifer are returning clients to the baby photography studio. I met them when they brought
in their 3–year–old daughter, Charleigh as a newborn. It's always an honor when clients are so
impressed with my work that they return with their new, precious family member. Time sure flies
too. It seems like only yesterday that Charleigh was as tiny as her new sister. This time, they brought
in little cutie, Lucy Olivia. I love the classic name they chose, and I'd be surprised if this little one
isn't full of personality like her older sister. Big sister, Charleigh, loves her baby sister. Her parents
mentioned it, but I could see for myself. Big sister wanted to take care of Lucy every second. It'll be
fantastic to have these two growing

Short Story : My Little Sister
" Quick! We need to get mommy!" I said as I sprinted to the neighbor's house. Something was not
right. Her vision was slowly fading away like the giggles and fun we were having earlier. We, as
kids, would never thought having so much fun would have inevitable consequences. The atmosphere
changed dramatically with every stride I took. I need to do this. I need to get there quickly. Out of
breath, I stood there gasping for oxygen trying to spit out the right words to tell my parents what
was happening to my younger sister. The one I should've been looking out for, my little follower,
Becky Rivera.
One morning on Wednesday April 2010, we all woke up to a perfect sunrise ready for another joyful
day of playing. My sisters and I did not have school that day, which made it even more exciting. My
dad that morning had plan to help our neighbor with household duties. The neighbor lives behind
my house and enjoys having my family over for anything. After breakfast, my parents headed out to
the neighbor's house, which gave us an opportunity to explore the front yard. Cindy, my older sister,
Becky, my younger sister, and I rushed back to our room to wear the proper attire for the spring
weather outside. Out we all rushed in our light jackets, pants, and tennis shoes. We all pushed each
other out the front door ready to see the adventures we could create in the front yard. Little did we
know, that decision would cause a major problem later on that same day.

What Is The Difference Between Sarah And Little Bee
Death is a subject talked about in Little Bee. Death is demonstrated during flashbacks as well as
confessions, the two narrators of the book, Sarah and Little Bee, describe their tragedies to us. Little
Bee who was only 14 years old at the time witnessed the slaughter of her family and the people in
her village. After running and hiding from the soldiers she hears her sister get raped, tortured,
murdered, and dismembered by a pack of dogs. Sarah while on a walk on the beach with her
husband Andrew because she had cheated on him and to kind of make things up and forget took him

My Little Sister, By Lizbeth Galarza
Dear teacher, allow me to provide you with some insight on who my little sister, Lizbeth Galarza,
truly is. At first glance, she might look like every other Ecuadorian girl with her thick dark brown
hair, deep, small brown eyes, and her short legs; but don 't let that fool you her small legs have
already taken her so far in life. At 15 years old, she has learned to identify herself as being both
Ecuadorian and American and being proud of both parts of her, which wasn 't so easy for her. She
has achieved this by being surrounded by two completely different environments, one at home and
the other at school.
Being Ecuadorian has helped my sister out since the early stages of her life. This was most evident
when as a baby my mother made sure she swaddled her as tightly as she could so in the future she
would have a straight back and know how to stand straight in order to hold her head up high when
facing those who tried to discourage her. Because my mother knew that being latin and coming from
a big family, her little girl was not only going to have to face the judgment of people who thought
they were better than her simply based on race but she would also have to face the judgment of
those closest to her who would judge her because she didn 't meet their now obsolescent
expectations of who she was supposed to grow into. My mother also made sure Lizbeth knew how
lucky she was for having all these opportunities to become whatever she wanted in life. As a baby,
my sister was

Short Story Of Poinsettia
A long time ago, far far away was a little village called Icelandic. The little village was an
excruciatingly hot town, ruled by the powerful Goddess Pavlof. The villagers would daily be in pain
from the vibrant heat, they wouldn't complain for their queen; for they knew what would punish the
courageous soul. The villagers would try to leave, but always ended up back in their homes or find
some reason to stay in the boiling town until death. One day, a villager tired of being scared, a
young woman of the name Poinsettia. Though, she was small and weak young lady, she knew it was
imperative for her to take action. She just wanted was to feel some kind of coolness in her life, even
though all she ever felt was the blazing heat. With a positive in mind state nevertheless, Poinsettia
marched into the castle with her confidence up to the roof and stood high while faced with the
queen, "Oh my dear goddess, may you let some of the cold air in the village?" Sitting at her thrown,
Goddess Pavlof looked down at her for a minute before she started to cackle. The only sound that
was heard throughout the castle was her cackle echoing through the halls of the castle, as she wiped
the tears in her eyes from laughter Pavlof told her,"The only way you'll ever feel the cold is if it
rained from the sky," said the Goddess. As she cackled, she signaled the guards to take her to the
dungeon. Without putting up a fight, she allowed the guards to lift her off the ground and take her to

Sourdi And Nea Relationship
Have you ever been so close to a loved one that every action they take, you would have to always
watch over them because they could be doing something that is not what is best for them? Nae loves
her sister Sourdi so much that she tries to save her sister from the choices she had made or is about
to make. At one point of the story, Nea would even die for Sourdi. Their strong connection changed
throughout the years because of the maturity level that Sourdi was going through, while Nea was
stuck in the past. Throughout this essay, I will discuss how Nea truly cares for her sister, Sourdi, and
how she was unconscious about what she has been doing, making their relationship weaker. The
short story began by showing us a little personality from both characters. Nea being the one who
does not think about any consequences for the actions and she would most likely express what she is
feeling at any given moment. When Sourdi and Nea were alone working at their ... Show more

She felt that Nea had acted irresponsibly and hoped that she regretted the way she behaved. Sourdi
expressed her concern when she told Nea, "Oh, no, Nea. Don't ever say that. Don't ever talk like
that." (Chai, 183). Sourdi doesn't like that Nea was acting reckless. Nea had said, "I don't care... I
shoulda killed him! I shoulda killed that sucker!" (Chai, 182). Sourdi was shocked that her little
sister would say something so aggressive. She looked at her sister like "Like a big bomb was ticking
behind her eyes." (Chai, 182). Nea was shocked that her sister could look at her like that but she was
felt the same way also. Sourdi cares for her little sister, and the way she acted scared her. She doesn't
want her sister acting like someone without any morals. She was so scared for her sister to the point
that she grabbed her and shaked her. Sourdi's affection for her sister is great and she would do and

Summary Of Forget Tomorrow By Pintip Dunn
Forget Tomorrow
The book I read is called Forget Tomorrow.by The author is Pintip Dunn. In the story a girl named
Callie lives in a world where all kids receive their memory at age seventeen, for Callie her memory
is that she kills her little sister that is gifted. The only help she has is her crush Logan. While she is
in jail Logan rescues her. In the book it takes us on Callie's Callies adventure on how she will save
her sister from herself.
The three main characters are Callie who receives the memory that will kill her sister, Logan who is
Callies crush and helps her escape from jail, and Jessa Callie's Callies little sister who she will kill.

When she walks in the room she decides that she won't be killing her little sister, she will be killing
herself. She drops the antidote on the floor so it shatters and stabs herself with a knife. Before she
drops to the floor Logan catches her to try and save her but nothing is going to work.
The conclusion of the story is she saves her little sister. Even though it was a sad ending she did
what she knew was best and what she wanted to do. Jessa will be fine but they might find out when
they figure out that she has gifted. Logan and the mom end up alright. It was a good and sad happy
ending.
I think the moral of the story is that to never take your friends and family for granted. One moment
you can have a family and friends but the next you are stranded. If you work hard enough you can
do anything to save someone, or just your relationship with your friends and family. Even if it's not a
happy ending, if you tried and did your best you should be proud. And in the end if you are happy
that is all that matters. I would recommend this book to many teens. It is a very adventurous book
that is really fun to read and get your mind off things that are happening in your life. I learned a lot
of life lessons from the book. With the amount of time here on Earth make it

Research Paper On My Little Sister
My Little Sister "The youngest child gets everything." I could not agree any less with this phrase
when I first heard of it. Being the youngest in my family, I can openly relate. Every child would
know the kind of 'power' their youngest sibling has over them. Therefore, I am guilty for taking
advantage of this privilege against my older brother and sister when I was little. To begin with, I
purposely placed both of them in trouble whenever they made me cry. Ideally, I was a spoiled and
stubborn child who treasured those moments whenever I was my family's center of attention.
Moreover, I used to believe my life was perfect, well that was before my parents told me that I was
going to have a younger sister. My immediate response to that appalling news is shock mixed with
anger, anguish, confusion and a sense of betrayal. I've been the youngest in my family for as long as
I can remember and to have someone new enter that sense of belongingness seemed unfitting to me.
Other than that she was a girl, which meant that she would be gaining twice the attention that I never
received. At the same time, I will be the one responsible to look after her in school. Apparently, I
was the only who reacted this way because my parents and siblings welcomed her with open arms.
On the other hand, I felt hatred towards my younger sister more than anyone I could possibly know
or think of. Ever since my younger sister came to our doorstep, the circumstances were never the
same for me. My parents

Personal Narrative Essay : My Little Sister
Little sister When we realized she wasn't ok.When my sister was two years old we realized she
wouldn't play like a normal child. She couldn't jump like a normal two year old or ride a tricycle.
She started saying that her feet would hurt. My mom took her to the emergency room and the
doctors would say that her feet would hurt because of her growth and told my mom to give her
tylenol. My sister would cry every single day, my mom would get stressed because of her. Two
years passed and my sister was finally four, my sister got worse during those two years she could
even barely walk. My mom had an appointment with a specialist and my mom took her. My mom
left like at five in the morning to my sister's appointment I stayed home with my older brothers and
my aunt. My mom got home around ten in the morning and when she got there she was crying. Me
and my older brother asked what was going on and she didn't responded us, so I kept on asking her,
and she told us that my little sister had a tumor on her back spain. I didn't know what that was so I
just started crying because I was scared. My mom packed pair of clothes for like a week for her and
for my sister i didn't know what was going on. My dad said they were going to the hospital to take
my sister and that he will be back later. That day they attended her fast after all those years that they
would ignore her the first thing they did when she got there was an emory to make sure it was

Three Sisters Help An Immigrant Family In Little Women
In Alcott's story, "Little Women", three children and their mother help an immigrant family in need.
According to the text, "Fortunately it was early, and they went through back streets, so few people
saw them, and no one laughed at the queer party"(Alcott para 38). The three sisters did not want to
be seen by many people in their town because they did not want people to make fun of them. This
was clearly not very ordinary for the townspeople and so the family worried about being seen.
Based on the text,"They were all unusually hungry, having waited nearly an hour, and for a minute
no one spoke"(Alcott para 33). This shows that the sisters had waited for their mother for a while
and expected her to sit down and eat. The children had to wait

The Day My Little Sister
Looking back on life, there are many little moments that stand out. Some, more than others, have
shaped you in a way that changed the trajectory of your life. These moments can be anything,
walking left may have saved you from being mugged, choosing the wrong car can get you stranded
in the middle of nowhere. These little choices and events have a way of forming how we are going
to live our lives. There are days that are more important than others, however, for me only one
comes to mind. The day my little sister, Emily, was born is the most important day of my existence,
this day altered my life for the better. When I was an only child, I never felt lonesome. I was
constantly the center of attention. When I was not with my parents, I was with my "Ma and Pa"– my
grandparents– I could do anything I wanted to do, because they allowed it. Although, I always had a
small suspicion that I was missing out on something. My friends had younger siblings, as I observed
their interactions I discovered what I was missing out on. I exhausted myself for hours trying to
determine if I wanted a brother or a sister. Eventually, after thinking it over I implored my parents
for a little sister. Years later, my parents told me they were frightened of my reaction if I happened to
get a brother. Nonetheless, I got precisely what I wanted. Emily was born on a bright Friday
morning. I was there the entire time, amusing myself with my life sized baby doll as I sat in the
waiting room. I wanted to help

Significance Of Little Sister In Fahrenheit 451
In Fahrenheit 451, Montag represents the "Little Sister" opposing the government who is the "Big
Brother." When Montag meets up with Faber, he lets out his frustrations: "'Nobody listens any
more....I can't talk to my wife; she listens to the walls. I just want someone to hear what I have to
say. And maybe if I talk long enough, it'll make sense'" (Bradbury 78). As a "Little Sister," Montag
expresses his complaints towards the "Big Brother." The government played a big role in creating
their current society. They have concealed real–life problems and emotions away from their citizens.
For instance, dead bodies are instantly taken away and incinerated, so their families do not have to
grief. Instead, the government makes entertainment and technology the center their society as an ...

As a result, he is unable to even talk to his own family. Furthermore, the last sentence of the quote
indicates that Montag has numerous questions for which he wants answers, yet he does not have
anyone to ask those questions. Montag emphasizes that he is aggravated at the government for
controlling his life and leaving his questions unanswered, similar to little sister having to follow all
the orders of big brothers. When little sisters ask why they have to always follow their big brothers'
commands, they are usually left unanswered, similar to Montag's situation. Also, Montag instantly
agrees when Faber suggests the strategic plan to overthrow the fire department created by the
government: "'...we print extra books and arrange to have them hidden in firemen's houses all over
the country, so that seeds of suspicion would be sown among those arsonists'" (Bradbury 81). The
metaphor, "seeds of suspicion would be sown among those arsonists" refers to firemen doubting
each other's trustworthiness when the books that would be placed in their houses were

Our Little Sister Themes
Our Little Sister (Hirokazu Koreeda) Three sisters, Sachi, Yoshino and Chika live in a large house in
Kamakura. When their estranged father dies, they travel to the country to attend his funeral, where
they meet an adolescent half–sister, Suzu. A deep bond is quickly formed between them and results
in inviting her, who is currently orphaned, to live with them. She accepts gladly and a new life
begins for the four sisters. Koreeda proves once more that he is the contemporary master of the
family drama, directing a film that is genuinely Japanese in its themes, pace and characters. He
focuses on the human interaction between the sisters, portraying their everyday lives, feelings and

Memories Of My Little Sister
I have many memories with my little siblings. Surprisingly, the memory that sticks out the most to
me is when memory of my little sister being born. The birth of my little sister was very stressful, but
worth all the anxiety. All the hours we waited, my anticipation to see her kept building inside of me.
I was super little when my thirteen year old sister was born, so I don't remember as much. I was
eight when my littlest sister was born. It really helped because I remember everything that happened
and can tell you all the details of that marvelous day.I was kinda nervous because I was scared my
little sister would get all the attention. I didn't think that my mom would be getting much attention,
even though she was having the baby. The part I remember the most about this crazy day is first
when I arrived in the waiting room. As an eight year old I assumed I would arrive and we would
take the baby and go straight home and introduce her to the family. As soon as we went to the front
desk my grandma asked "how is Mrs. Kleffman doing." I remember the nurse having a tired
response "All is doing well could be a couple hours though". I was really confused because i kept
asking myself, how long could it really take to have a baby. My grandma smiled at the told her
thank you. We sat down in the waiting room and I started to look around. The room smelled like
cleaners that burnt my nostrils and it was super cold. I had brought a sweatshirt with me, so i had to

"My little sister, Maya. She's not a healthy kid." (page. 2) This is a quote found at the beginning of

She is telling the reader that her family is moving to the coast of northern California in town of
Bahía de la Luna, in hopes of improving the quality of life for her sister. Maya is sick with cystic
fibrosis. Cat is upset about moving because she does not want to leave her friends and school.
However, she knows the move is crucial to her sister's health and she will benefit from the salty cool
air. Arrival in Bahía de la Luna When they arrives in Bahía de la Luna, it is windy and cold with lots
of fog. Maya and Cat explore the area and go to the ocean. Maya is excited to be breathing in the
ocean air. They try to get into an old arcade on the boardwalk. Once they sneak inside, they meet
Carlos, who tells them about a ghost tour and all the ghosts that live in the town. Cat wants nothing
to do with ghost, but Maya is determined to meet one. Living in Bahia de la Luna The girls learn
that they have been invited to dinner by their new neighbors. When they arrive, they realizes that

aside from the class and told me that I needed to go to the principal's office because my mom was

question popped into mind. Why did I need to go to the principal's office? I disregarded the thought
and packed up my things. I slowly walked to principal's office with my head down and thoughts
rushing through my mind. What had happened? Is everything all right? Yet, the questions did not
help the situations, for none of my questions were going to get answered any time soon. Once I
finally put my head up, I had arrived. I gradually reached for the door in fear of what was to come. I

"I was just kissing a boy! It is not like I am selling drugs or something!" replied my sister. "For all I

Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott
Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott, was published in 1868 and follows the lives, loves, and
troubles of the four March sisters growing up during the American Civil War.1 The novel is loosely
based on childhood experiences Alcott shared with her own sisters, Anna, May, and Elizabeth, who
provided the hearts of the novel's main characters.2 The March sisters illustrate the difficulties of
girls growing up in a world that holds certain expectations of the female sex; the story details the
journeys the girls make as they grow to be women in that world. Figures 1 and 2 in the Appendix are
of Orchard House, the basis for the March family home, where the Alcotts lived.

Alcott was often inspired by familiar elements in her writing: Anna, her married sister, was the
model for Meg, the family beauty; Elizabeth, who died at twenty–three, was the basis for Beth; May,
Alcott's strong–willed sister, was portrayed as Amy; Louisa depicted herself as Jo, the stubborn,
fiery main character.10 Alcott freely corresponded with readers who addressed her as "Miss March"
or "Jo," and did not correct them.11
Meg, sixteen at the beginning of the book, is the oldest March sister. She is referred to as the beauty
of the family and runs the household when her mother is absent. Meg fulfills the expectations for
women of the time; she is already a nearly perfect "little woman" from the start.12 Jo, the principal
character, is fifteen at the opening of the book; she is a willful and strong young woman, struggling
to subdue her forceful personality. Her failures render her a more realistic, charming character.13
Beth, thirteen when the novel starts, is described as shy, musical, and gentle; she is easily the shyest
March sister and the peacemaker of the family.14 The main loss of the novel is Beth's passing; her
"self–sacrifice" is ultimately the greatest in the novel – she gives up her life knowing that it had only
"private, domestic meaning."15 Amy, the youngest March sister, is twelve when the story begins.
She is the artist of the family, and is described as a "regular snow–maiden" with golden, curly hair
and blue eyes, "pale and slender"

The Leadership And Management Workflow
In every organization, the leadership and management workflow comprises the vast majority of
decision making and will be the defining factor in workplace cultures, communication, and overall
sustaining business practices. In non–profit organizations, this statement holds true. For example,
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest youth mentoring organization in America. Their vision
is to provide all children, especially those facing adversity, with achievable success in their lifetime.
The executive team that makes up the governing board for this organization has their own leadership
practices that will lead towards the organization having different strengths and weaknesses in theory
and in the workplace. The Contingency Leadership Theory will be discussed in context of Kansas
Big Brothers Big Sisters as well as in general practice.
Organizational Description
Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters is an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters America and has been
since 1969. Since this time, Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters has grown to the second largest affiliate
agency in the nation, serving more than 6,000 children statewide with over 4,000 children on the

from other organizations who also provide mentoring services. Their mission is to "provide children

Trying To Teach My Little Sisters How To Read
If you think that teaching is for you, then I suggest trying to teach two five year–old little girls to
read at the same time! Teaching my little sisters how to read will forever be one of the most
challenging things I have ever done. The weekend I taught Carlee and Kalee how to read will
always play over in my mind. This is the story of the week that I went insane trying to teach my
little sisters how to read.
It was the summer of 2013, the weekend before Carlee and Kalee started Kindergarten. They had
just turned five and they were as fun–loving and energetic as ever. They had been going to a
program called, HIPPIE, all last school year. That program can help kids in many ways, including
the basics on how to read. However, the twins still weren't the brightest fish in the sea. They needed
some help, and mom thought that I should be the one to teach them.
The good thing was that the twins were all for the idea of me teaching them how to read. They were
excited, and that was good! First, we went to the library to get books. I told them they were only
allowed to get two books each. Carlee was able to find two really easy stories that she liked. Kalee
on the other hand was a bit more difficult. She found one book she really liked, but she wasn't able

she was really into it and loved to read. Kalee was a whole different story. Her first book was The
Very Hungry Caterpillar. She knew the sight words but not really. She could look at them, and after
a minute she would tell you what the word was. They were sight words, she had to think, and that
was fine. Mom thought she needed to know them better. We worked, worked, and worked some

Summary Of Meteorite Mountain By Bii Big Sister
In the story, "Meteorite Mountain" by Can Xue we get an insight look at Little sister's and Big
sister's relationship. We see that both characters are opposites and they do not see eye to eye on
everything, but they accept the fact that they are not the same and that neither one or the other is
going to change. Their relationship helps us see the struggle within ourselves of whether we should
follow our heart or listen to what our mind is telling us like in the excerpt above Little sister
followed her heart and found what she was looking for while Big sister finally understands the way
Little sister thinks and, " there was nothing she could not do" (37). This conflict of views is essential
to the story because we see that Big sister tends to use her mind to make decisions and she's more
serious and not as opened minded as Little sister, but Little sister on the other hand is more open
minded and decides follows her heart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think in the end Big sister understands why Little sister left her and it was because she, "found
what she had been looking for all her life" (37). She found love not only for Huimin, but also for the
mountain itself. Deep down I think Big sister is jealous of Little sister. In the passage Big sister says,
"I even think it's fortunate little sister is married off to that place" (36). Big sister is jealous that
Little sister just goes for it and follows her heart while she cannot because she must think everything
out so for her to just take a leap of faith and follow her heart is not something she would

Essay On New Member Experience
New Member Periods Less than 6 Weeks: If your school requires the new member period to be less
than six weeks, you should immediately contact your adviser and Programming Specialist to discuss
the appropriate schedule if you don't already have one. It is a requirement that all of our new
members complete all areas of the New Member Experience. However, given that our New Member
Experience is more than just Formal Pledging, we have some flexibility. Our recommendation is that
you present the following key areas of EME programming, in–person meetings and online course
work during the formal pledging period. This may require multiple meetings per week to ensure
they are completed. Fraternity Education Finance Risk Management

The New Member Chairman is responsible for scheduling and planning two additional New
Member Experience meetings to further develop and build relationships with the newly initiated
members.
These meetings should be scheduled in the semester following Initiation and before the end of their
first year of membership with Kappa Kappa Gamma. Ideas for these meetings can be found in the
appendix. These meetings should meet the following goals. 1. Build a strong sense of sisterhood. 2.
Touch base to find out how the New Member Experience is going. 3. Address any questions. Big
Sisters/Little Sisters Each chapter plans, organizes and reveals their big sister and little sister
pairings at different times and in different ways. The current six–week and eight–week schedules
outlines that interested big sisters and little sisters will indicate their selections for pairings during
the fourth week of the New Member Experience. The big sister and little sister pairings are then
revealed during the fifth week. Please note that while this is the recommended timeline, Kappa
recognizes that each chapter is unique and will implement this experience a little differently. In
regards to the big sister and little sister experience, please make sure to adhere to the following
guidelines. Preference should always go to the little sister's first choice whenever possible. Members

The biggest and issue that the Little Sisters of the Poor face today is one of religious freedom. This
issue is not particular to certain home, this issue involves every home in the United States. The issue
being that the Little Sisters are forced to provide Obamacare for its employs, the Obamacare
requires the coverage of contraceptive and this goes against the morale beliefs of the Sisters. The
reason that this goes against the Little Sister's belief of protecting life until natural death, and
contraceptive is a direct opposite to life. The other option, instead of providing contraceptive, would
be to fill out a form that tells the HHS that this issue goes against the religious beliefs of the
organization. "Filling out the form does not insulate them from complicity in the facilitation of
potentially life–ending drugs and devices, and that substantially burdens their free exercise of
religion" ("Slatterly," 2015). This is not the first time this issue has been raised and this is just the
continuation of the original issue of Zubik v. Burwell ("Kurt," 2015). The Little Sisters have become
a face to the public of fighting for religious rights. The Denver–based Little Sisters order, which
operates nursing homes for the elderly poor, has been the symbol of the case since Dec. 31, 2013
("Kurt," 2015). Since then there has been a stay in the debate and the case will be discussed before
the High Court on March 23, 2016 ("Kurt," 2015). The outcome of the vocal debate ended in dead

Raymond Chandler's The Little Sister
Raymond Chandler, who wrote The Little Sister, wrote his books to reveal mystery, crime and love.
A quote "Chandler wrote as if pain hurt and life mattered" written in The New Yorker on The Long
Goodbye describes how he wrote. The mystery that is written in the story is that there is a girl
named Orfamay who is looking for her brother Orrin. She hires a detective, Marlowe, who helps her
find him. The brother was not exactly what he said he was and he's been locked away hidden from
everyone he knew. As he is looking for him, a few killings happen and Marlowe finds out that those
killings are leading him closer to finding Orfamay's brother Orrin. Those killings are clues that are
related to Orrin and Marlowe starts to notice it. As Marlowe is looking in a building that Orrin was
staying in, the first killing happens. Marlowe first goes to the room and there is a woman who is also
there searching for clues. At first Marlowe thinks she is the one who is doing the killings. This ends

Making An Adult At A Young Age
Some teens are not placed with major decisions in their young lives or forced to face adult decisions.
During the year 2008, I was face to make a major decision. My mother, Glenda, and my step–father,
Jr., where arguing for hours from as late as 11 pm to 2 am, with my adolescent sisters crying and
begging me to do something. I took it upon myself to be the adult in the situation. My significant
decision was giving my mother the ultimatum to leave my step–father or I was moving out to
another family member's home because I wanted to protect my little sisters from the dysfunctional
environment. This affected my life by making me an adult at a young age. My significant decision
was giving my mother the ultimatum to leave my step–father or I was moving in with a family
member. My plan was to move into my older cousin Jessica's home if my mother would have
chosen to stay with my step–father. I would also try to get my sisters to live with me at Jessica's
home by proving my parents were unfit as parents. My mother left my step–father and I was going
to help get custody of my baby sisters. In reality my mother was moving in a downwards spiral. We
left the morning after the argument. My cousin Jessica, who is my mom's age, picked us up barely
before the sun was coming out. We had to leave my adolescent sisters behind, making my mother
cry the whole ride to Jessica's house while I sat in silence. My mother has been fighting for seven
years now for custody. Throughout my high school

Next day her little sister came along and promise to never marry either. Marguerite had kept her

she never married." This quote is from the story and it connects to my word that the little sister

Short Story : The Story Of A Story
"Professor Michaelis...how dare you fill their heads with these unpure notions. It was not your place
to tell them about this." I interrupted.
My hands were shaking and I began to sweat on my face. What if Mother finds out about this?
Without another word, I turned to leave the room but my arm was clasped by a strong hand that I'd
never felt before and they pinned me against the wall. The hands were firm and restraining like
Mothers. I have never been grabbed like this by another person before, let alone a man. Professor
Michaelis met my startled gazed with a seductive smile. His right hand gently clasping my chin so
that I could not avert my eyes. He stared at my porcelain face for what felt like an eternity. It was
then that his left hand glided down my white dress and began caressing my left thigh. I closed my
eyes as he continued petting me and turned my knees inward so I wouldn't collapse. He then forced
my thighs back open with his right knee and held me there smirking.
"Perhaps, you can be my little helper then, Little Robin," he said.
Without answering I managed to wiggle free from his grip and put some distance between the two of
us. There was a short silence...as if we were trying to anticipate the other's next move. He walked
towards me, I turned to run for the door, but he grabbed my left hand on the door knob before I
could open it. His touch was surprisingly gentle this time. He took both of my hands in his and
kissed them lightly on the fingertips. I quickly removed them not wanting to continue his game for
another second.
"You are a despicable demon," I said.
"How could you be so shameless, in front of these young girls? This is the house of God."
He smiled, releasing my hands, walking over to his desk seemly uninterested in what I said to say
about my religious beliefs.
"Are you a true woman of the cloth?" he inquired.
"I find it very hard to believe since you're still here after that display."
"If what I just did truly bothered you, you would have turned to leave by now." "So...you're not
nearly as sanctimonious as your Mother, how she imprisons you here like an iron maiden is quite a
sad sight indeed–" "You're mistaken," I said interrupting him.
I lowered my head and thought of Mother, what

Summary Of Juvenile Blueprint Program: Big Brothers Big...
Juvenile Blueprint Program: Big Brothers Big Sisters of America
The program Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is a successful community mentoring program
that has been in existence for more than 100 years. In fact, this program started as two separate
programs back in 1904. One of the programs was the Big Brothers movement, which formed as the
result of a court clerk's concern for troubled boys he saw coming through the courts. The other
program was the Catholic Big Sisters, which formed for the same reasons except for the girls. These
two programs sought volunteers throughout their communities to help these troubled children who
seemed to need a positive adult influence in their lives to help them stay out of trouble. These two

In fact, as a result of the encouragement the Little receives from their Big to succeed, the Littles
have been shown to have "skip school half as much as their peers, felt more competent about doing
homework, and skipped class fewer times than their peers" (Big Brothers and Sisters of America,
2016). Furthermore, studies show that Bigs helped the Littles develop a greater "self–confidence
that helped them achieve their goals, 90% said the Big made them feel better about themselves and
72% said they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with their relationships with friends" (Big
Brothers and Big Sisters of America, 2016), as the result of the impact the Bigs had on their lives.
Besides the impact the Bigs have on the Littles behavior in school and in the community, this
program has shown to impact the ever day choices of a child as well. Such choices could include
whether or not to use illegal drugs, use alcohol, or the decision to get into a fight. In fact, in a study
conducted in 1994 and 1995, only 18 months after pairing a Big with a Little, the Littles were shown
to be "46% less likely to use drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, and 33% less likely to hit

Similarities Between Jem And Sarah In To Kill A Mockingbird
"'Besides, Jem had his little sister to take care of'" (Lee, 1960, p. 17). Jem thinks he is responsible

There are several characteristics, traits that compare Jem and Sarah for being relatable. First of all,
when Jem was 11, he was a daredevil and yet brave by touching the Radley's house when he was

Role Models Essay : My Life As A Role Model
Life as a Role Model
"Success isn't about how much money you make, it's about the difference you make in people's
lives" –Michelle Obama. I aspire to inspire. Being a role model for my little sister has not only made
me stronger, smarter, and wiser, but it has made me more of a woman. Every little girl needs a
woman to look up to and to learn from. A role model is someone who can teach and learn. By being
a teacher to my little sister, I have not only taught her, I have learned from her. In 2009, my life
changed. The most beautiful little girl was born, my little sister, Kara. The things that I have learned
and continue to learn from her are endless and she has changed who I am as a person, even more so,
a friend.
Growing up ten years older than my little sister, caused me to mature fast. I was the one who she
was going to look up to for the rest of her life. Often times I have been responsible for her. I have
had to drop her off at piano, get her ready for cheer practice, and take her to church. The list is never
ending. When she was born, I became very motherly and acted like a second mom to her. Having
her in my life made me want to be a role model to not only children, but people in general. Growing
up around a little girl, I had to always watch what I said and did. I knew that everything I would do,
she would want to do too. Therefore, I was very hesitant of my words and my actions, not only
when I talked around my little

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Big Sleep '
In The Big Sleep, Chandler portrays Marlowe as the knight in shining armor. This establishes a
motif of the stained glass window in General Stern wood's home in the first chapter of the novel and
is an appropriate motif in dictating Marlowe's knightly role in the novel. The stained glass that is
reflected in the novel places Marlowe in the position of the knight as it shows a knight who strives
to reach a woman to set her free. The fact that he stares at the glass makes him develop the need to
offer assistance. This motif is suitable because it sets the stage for what is to take place in the
aftermath when Marlowe rescues Carmen. Secondly, Chandler tries to connect Marlowe with the
knightly personality from the beginning of the novel that he intended to name his detective the
modern knight and a brave man fighting for General Sternwood. He takes the role of the servant to
Sternwood's lord and therefore, in the knightly terms, it is sufficient to say that Marlowe is striving
to find justice. Moreover, he is dedicated to rendering his services in the line of duty with much
loyalty and honor despite the sexual and financial temptations that come his way. Like the ancient
knights, Marlowe has deeply invested in his personal code of chivalry that contain among others, the
need to overcome the sexual temptation of whatever magnitude that comes his way. Lastly, as a
representation of the modern–day knight, Marlowe comes out in the novel as a tough detective and a
brave individual

with being "Greta's little sister" I was expected to act like her: get the same grades as her, play the
same sports, and do the exact same extracurricular activities. My entire life I have been expected to
live the same life as my sister; because of this I have not been given ample time or space to figure
out who I really am. This expectation to conform is present in every aspect of my life: school, my

Personal Narrative : My Little Sister
I remember the summer my little sister, Alexis who was 16 at the time, came to visit me from South
Carolina. I was working on Naval Air Station North Island at a placed called FRC Southwest at the
time. The day after she arrived for her visit, she woke up at 5:00 a.m., groomed herself, ate a small
breakfast and met me in my car at 6:15 a.m. to go to work with me. She did every day for the first
two weeks of her two–month long visit with me. One day while we were in my office I asked her,
"Wouldn't you rather stay at home and sleep–in instead of waking up at 5 in the morning with me,
just to go to my boring job?" She replied, "I rather be sitting here at your boring job with you than to
be sitting at home alone bored in that too quiet house, where the only company I have is my
thoughts. I don't even have my cellphone to talk to anyone or to go on Facebook and Instagram right
now because it's broken, so I think I'll pass on staying home by myself and being lonely." I thought
to myself how I would love to sit in a quiet house by myself for once just to relax and let the time
pass and to have a moment of solitude. With technology getting more and more innovative,
connectivity to everything and everyone is becoming exceptionally easy. Technology has creeped its
way into just about every aspect of our lives and afforded us the capabilities for having friendships
that are just a click, text, Facebook post, and Snap chat video away. With everyone at your

My Family At The United States Essay
My family of five is blessed to have unique names that are quite different from the common "Sams"
and "Johns" floating around the United States. However, it is not the tongue twister names that
confuse people as they get acquainted with my family. When I share the names to others, I never fail
to baffle people at the end of my list, Heonsu, Misug, Onyoo, Youngeun, and Sarah. "Sarah?" they
exclaim. "Wait, what? Why is her name different?". Every time this occurs, I am forced to explain in
my practiced speech tone, "My family immigrated to the United States from South Korea when I
was six. We all have Korean names, but my little sister was born here, so she has an American
name." Most people are satisfied with this answer before I can splurge with more information. They
just leave, scratching the backs of their heads and continue with their mundane tasks. As a result, no
one truly knows all the bizarre events that led to my little sister's common name. My little sister was
born in June, 2007. The weeks before her birth were filled with excitement since she was a late
addition to our family. There were pastel pink themed baby showers, house visits overflowing with
Pampers diapers, and elderly church ladies knitting sunset–yellow blankets. All the visitors asked
the pre–requisite set of questions to my parents: "How is the health of the baby and mother? What is
the gender? Are you excited? When is the due date?" and so on. What they failed to inquire about
was the name of the

Monologue Of A Baby Sister

  • 1. Monologue Of A Baby Sister Jeff and Jennifer are returning clients to the baby photography studio. I met them when they brought in their 3–year–old daughter, Charleigh as a newborn. It's always an honor when clients are so impressed with my work that they return with their new, precious family member. Time sure flies too. It seems like only yesterday that Charleigh was as tiny as her new sister. This time, they brought in little cutie, Lucy Olivia. I love the classic name they chose, and I'd be surprised if this little one isn't full of personality like her older sister. Big sister, Charleigh, loves her baby sister. Her parents mentioned it, but I could see for myself. Big sister wanted to take care of Lucy every second. It'll be fantastic to have these two growing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Short Story : My Little Sister " Quick! We need to get mommy!" I said as I sprinted to the neighbor's house. Something was not right. Her vision was slowly fading away like the giggles and fun we were having earlier. We, as kids, would never thought having so much fun would have inevitable consequences. The atmosphere changed dramatically with every stride I took. I need to do this. I need to get there quickly. Out of breath, I stood there gasping for oxygen trying to spit out the right words to tell my parents what was happening to my younger sister. The one I should've been looking out for, my little follower, Becky Rivera. One morning on Wednesday April 2010, we all woke up to a perfect sunrise ready for another joyful day of playing. My sisters and I did not have school that day, which made it even more exciting. My dad that morning had plan to help our neighbor with household duties. The neighbor lives behind my house and enjoys having my family over for anything. After breakfast, my parents headed out to the neighbor's house, which gave us an opportunity to explore the front yard. Cindy, my older sister, Becky, my younger sister, and I rushed back to our room to wear the proper attire for the spring weather outside. Out we all rushed in our light jackets, pants, and tennis shoes. We all pushed each other out the front door ready to see the adventures we could create in the front yard. Little did we know, that decision would cause a major problem later on that same day. The flower buds on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Death is demonstrated during flashbacks as well as confessions, the two narrators of the book, Sarah and Little Bee, describe their tragedies to us. Sarah while on a walk on the beach with her husband Andrew because she had cheated on him and to kind of make things up and forget took him on a vacation to Nigeria. • 7. My Little Sister, By Lizbeth Galarza Dear teacher, allow me to provide you with some insight on who my little sister, Lizbeth Galarza, truly is. At first glance, she might look like every other Ecuadorian girl with her thick dark brown hair, deep, small brown eyes, and her short legs; but don 't let that fool you her small legs have already taken her so far in life. At 15 years old, she has learned to identify herself as being both Ecuadorian and American and being proud of both parts of her, which wasn 't so easy for her. She has achieved this by being surrounded by two completely different environments, one at home and the other at school. Being Ecuadorian has helped my sister out since the early stages of her life. This was most evident when as a baby my mother made sure she swaddled her as tightly as she could so in the future she would have a straight back and know how to stand straight in order to hold her head up high when facing those who tried to discourage her. Because my mother knew that being latin and coming from a big family, her little girl was not only going to have to face the judgment of people who thought they were better than her simply based on race but she would also have to face the judgment of those closest to her who would judge her because she didn 't meet their now obsolescent expectations of who she was supposed to grow into. My mother also made sure Lizbeth knew how lucky she was for having all these opportunities to become whatever she wanted in life. As a baby, my sister was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Short Story Of Poinsettia A long time ago, far far away was a little village called Icelandic. The little village was an excruciatingly hot town, ruled by the powerful Goddess Pavlof. The villagers would daily be in pain from the vibrant heat, they wouldn't complain for their queen; for they knew what would punish the courageous soul. The villagers would try to leave, but always ended up back in their homes or find some reason to stay in the boiling town until death. One day, a villager tired of being scared, a young woman of the name Poinsettia. Though, she was small and weak young lady, she knew it was imperative for her to take action. She just wanted was to feel some kind of coolness in her life, even though all she ever felt was the blazing heat. With a positive in mind state nevertheless, Poinsettia marched into the castle with her confidence up to the roof and stood high while faced with the queen, "Oh my dear goddess, may you let some of the cold air in the village?" Sitting at her thrown, Goddess Pavlof looked down at her for a minute before she started to cackle. The only sound that was heard throughout the castle was her cackle echoing through the halls of the castle, as she wiped the tears in her eyes from laughter Pavlof told her,"The only way you'll ever feel the cold is if it rained from the sky," said the Goddess. As she cackled, she signaled the guards to take her to the dungeon. Without putting up a fight, she allowed the guards to lift her off the ground and take her to the freezing ... • 11. Sourdi And Nea Relationship Have you ever been so close to a loved one that every action they take, you would have to always watch over them because they could be doing something that is not what is best for them? Nae loves her sister Sourdi so much that she tries to save her sister from the choices she had made or is about to make. At one point of the story, Nea would even die for Sourdi. Their strong connection changed throughout the years because of the maturity level that Sourdi was going through, while Nea was stuck in the past. Throughout this essay, I will discuss how Nea truly cares for her sister, Sourdi, and how she was unconscious about what she has been doing, making their relationship weaker. The short story began by showing us a little personality from both characters. Nea being the one who does not think about any consequences for the actions and she would most likely express what she is feeling at any given moment. When Sourdi and Nea were alone working at their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She felt that Nea had acted irresponsibly and hoped that she regretted the way she behaved. Sourdi expressed her concern when she told Nea, "Oh, no, Nea. Don't ever say that. Don't ever talk like that." (Chai, 183). Sourdi doesn't like that Nea was acting reckless. Nea had said, "I don't care... I shoulda killed him! I shoulda killed that sucker!" (Chai, 182). Sourdi was shocked that her little sister would say something so aggressive. She looked at her sister like "Like a big bomb was ticking behind her eyes." (Chai, 182). Nea was shocked that her sister could look at her like that but she was felt the same way also. Sourdi cares for her little sister, and the way she acted scared her. She doesn't want her sister acting like someone without any morals. She was so scared for her sister to the point that she grabbed her and shaked her. Sourdi's affection for her sister is great and she would do and say anything to keep her on the right ... In the story a girl named Callie lives in a world where all kids receive their memory at age seventeen, for Callie her memory is that she kills her little sister that is gifted. The only help she has is her crush Logan. While she is in jail Logan rescues her. In the book it takes us on Callie's Callies adventure on how she will save her sister from herself. When she walks in the room she decides that she won't be killing her little sister, she will be killing herself. She drops the antidote on the floor so it shatters and stabs herself with a knife. Before she drops to the floor Logan catches her to try and save her but nothing is going to work. The conclusion of the story is she saves her little sister. Even though it was a sad ending she did what she knew was best and what she wanted to do. Jessa will be fine but they might find out when they figure out that she has gifted. Logan and the mom end up alright. It was a good and sad happy ending. I think the moral of the story is that to never take your friends and family for granted. One moment you can have a family and friends but the next you are stranded. If you work hard enough you can do anything to save someone, or just your relationship with your friends and family. Even if it's not a happy ending, if you tried and did your best you should be proud. And in the end if you are happy that is all that matters. I would recommend this book to many teens. It is a very adventurous book that is really fun to read and get your mind off things that are happening in your life. I learned a lot of life lessons from the book. • 15. Research Paper On My Little Sister My Little Sister "The youngest child gets everything." I could not agree any less with this phrase when I first heard of it. Being the youngest in my family, I can openly relate. Every child would know the kind of 'power' their youngest sibling has over them. Therefore, I am guilty for taking advantage of this privilege against my older brother and sister when I was little. To begin with, I purposely placed both of them in trouble whenever they made me cry. Ideally, I was a spoiled and stubborn child who treasured those moments whenever I was my family's center of attention. Moreover, I used to believe my life was perfect, well that was before my parents told me that I was going to have a younger sister. My immediate response to that appalling news is shock mixed with anger, anguish, confusion and a sense of betrayal. I've been the youngest in my family for as long as I can remember and to have someone new enter that sense of belongingness seemed unfitting to me. Other than that she was a girl, which meant that she would be gaining twice the attention that I never received. At the same time, I will be the one responsible to look after her in school. Apparently, I was the only who reacted this way because my parents and siblings welcomed her with open arms. On the other hand, I felt hatred towards my younger sister more than anyone I could possibly know or think of. Ever since my younger sister came to our doorstep, the circumstances were never the same for me. My parents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She couldn't jump like a normal two year old or ride a tricycle. She started saying that her feet would hurt. My mom took her to the emergency room and the doctors would say that her feet would hurt because of her growth and told my mom to give her tylenol. My sister would cry every single day, my mom would get stressed because of her. Two years passed and my sister was finally four, my sister got worse during those two years she could even barely walk. My mom had an appointment with a specialist and my mom took her. My mom left like at five in the morning to my sister's appointment I stayed home with my older brothers and my aunt. My mom got home around ten in the morning and when she got there she was crying. Me and my older brother asked what was going on and she didn't responded us, so I kept on asking her, and she told us that my little sister had a tumor on her back spain. I didn't know what that was so I just started crying because I was scared. My mom packed pair of clothes for like a week for her and for my sister i didn't know what was going on. My dad said they were going to the hospital to take my sister and that he will be back later. That day they attended her fast after all those years that they would ignore her the first thing they did when she got there was an emory to make sure it was actually a tumor that she ... • 19. Three Sisters Help An Immigrant Family In Little Women In Alcott's story, "Little Women", three children and their mother help an immigrant family in need. According to the text, "Fortunately it was early, and they went through back streets, so few people saw them, and no one laughed at the queer party"(Alcott para 38). The three sisters did not want to be seen by many people in their town because they did not want people to make fun of them. This was clearly not very ordinary for the townspeople and so the family worried about being seen. Based on the text,"They were all unusually hungry, having waited nearly an hour, and for a minute no one spoke"(Alcott para 33). • 21. The Day My Little Sister Looking back on life, there are many little moments that stand out. Some, more than others, have shaped you in a way that changed the trajectory of your life. These moments can be anything, walking left may have saved you from being mugged, choosing the wrong car can get you stranded in the middle of nowhere. These little choices and events have a way of forming how we are going to live our lives. There are days that are more important than others, however, for me only one comes to mind. The day my little sister, Emily, was born is the most important day of my existence, this day altered my life for the better. When I was an only child, I never felt lonesome. I was constantly the center of attention. When I was not with my parents, I was with my "Ma and Pa"– my grandparents– I could do anything I wanted to do, because they allowed it. Although, I always had a small suspicion that I was missing out on something. My friends had younger siblings, as I observed their interactions I discovered what I was missing out on. I exhausted myself for hours trying to determine if I wanted a brother or a sister. Eventually, after thinking it over I implored my parents for a little sister. Years later, my parents told me they were frightened of my reaction if I happened to get a brother. Nonetheless, I got precisely what I wanted. Emily was born on a bright Friday morning. I was there the entire time, amusing myself with my life sized baby doll as I sat in the waiting room. I wanted to help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Significance Of Little Sister In Fahrenheit 451 In Fahrenheit 451, Montag represents the "Little Sister" opposing the government who is the "Big Brother." When Montag meets up with Faber, he lets out his frustrations: "'Nobody listens any more....I can't talk to my wife; she listens to the walls. I just want someone to hear what I have to say. And maybe if I talk long enough, it'll make sense'" (Bradbury 78). As a "Little Sister," Montag expresses his complaints towards the "Big Brother." The government played a big role in creating their current society. They have concealed real–life problems and emotions away from their citizens. For instance, dead bodies are instantly taken away and incinerated, so their families do not have to grief. Instead, the government makes entertainment and technology the center their society as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, he is unable to even talk to his own family. Furthermore, the last sentence of the quote indicates that Montag has numerous questions for which he wants answers, yet he does not have anyone to ask those questions. Montag emphasizes that he is aggravated at the government for controlling his life and leaving his questions unanswered, similar to little sister having to follow all the orders of big brothers. When little sisters ask why they have to always follow their big brothers' commands, they are usually left unanswered, similar to Montag's situation. Also, Montag instantly agrees when Faber suggests the strategic plan to overthrow the fire department created by the government: "'...we print extra books and arrange to have them hidden in firemen's houses all over the country, so that seeds of suspicion would be sown among those arsonists'" (Bradbury 81). The metaphor, "seeds of suspicion would be sown among those arsonists" refers to firemen doubting each other's trustworthiness when the books that would be placed in their houses were ... My secret is that I have an Autistic little sister she is 15 years old and she cannot even say a word. I don't tell people about how my little sister is autistic because I don't want people to feel bad for me. I have told my closest friends and every time I tell someone they lower down their heads and apologize, I don't want anyone's pity I only have one wish and that is to have a normal sister. When their estranged father dies, they travel to the country to attend his funeral, where they meet an adolescent half–sister, Suzu. A deep bond is quickly formed between them and results in inviting her, who is currently orphaned, to live with them. She accepts gladly and a new life begins for the four sisters. Koreeda proves once more that he is the contemporary master of the family drama, directing a film that is genuinely Japanese in its themes, pace and characters. He focuses on the human interaction between the sisters, portraying their everyday lives, feelings and thoughts and all the little moments that make us humans. Of ... One of the central enquiries is why do people keep sending various object to each other, although they are not essential to their survival. With that question in mind Yoko becomes curious about the parcels she is carrying and ends up reluctantly opening one of them. Sono directed a film whose central theme is nostalgia, a notion that becomes evident from the beginning, through the anachronistic setting inside the spaceship. The birth of my little sister was very stressful, but worth all the anxiety. All the hours we waited, my anticipation to see her kept building inside of me. I was super little when my thirteen year old sister was born, so I don't remember as much. I was eight when my littlest sister was born. It really helped because I remember everything that happened and can tell you all the details of that marvelous day.I was kinda nervous because I was scared my little sister would get all the attention. I didn't think that my mom would be getting much attention, even though she was having the baby. The part I remember the most about this crazy day is first when I arrived in the waiting room. As an eight year old I assumed I would arrive and we would take the baby and go straight home and introduce her to the family. As soon as we went to the front desk my grandma asked "how is Mrs. Kleffman doing." I remember the nurse having a tired response "All is doing well could be a couple hours though". I was really confused because i kept asking myself, how long could it really take to have a baby. My grandma smiled at the told her thank you. We sat down in the waiting room and I started to look around. The room smelled like cleaners that burnt my nostrils and it was super cold. I had brought a sweatshirt with me, so i had to put it on. Catrina (Cat) the main character is telling the reader about her little sister Maya's health. She is telling the reader that her family is moving to the coast of northern California in town of Bahía de la Luna, in hopes of improving the quality of life for her sister. However, she knows the move is crucial to her sister's health and she will benefit from the salty cool air. Maya is excited to be breathing in the ocean air. They try to get into an old arcade on the boardwalk. My best childhood memory: Early in the morning fresh from returning from the greatest place on earth Disney World, we would sneak into the kitchen by crawling on the floor like tiny ninjas. We were not looking for cookies or pancakes. The mission was to find the Harry Potter jellybeans, a straw bag full of a child's jellybean dreams and nightmares. We saw the target...we grabbed it and went on our way. Mission complete. Our parents are deeply sleeping in their bed. Now, we could play our favorite yet disgusting game. Vianca, a fourteen–year old girl (she was the youngest in her grade) was caught making out with Christian, a nineteen–year old boy on the security camera. I was deeply focused on my classwork when my fourth–grade teacher pulled me aside from the class and told me that I needed to go to the principal's office because my mom was going to pick me. Naturally, I was filled with joy because I was going to leave school early, but a question popped into mind. Why did I need to go to the principal's office? I disregarded the thought and packed up my things. I slowly walked to principal's office with my head down and thoughts rushing through my mind. What had happened? Is everything all right? Yet, the questions did not help the situations, for none of my questions were going to get answered any time soon. Once I finally put my head up, I had arrived. I gradually reached for the door in fear of what was to come. I opened the door to find the exact picture I was hoping not to see. My sister was sobbing while my mom was shouting in rapid Spanish. "What is wrong with you?" howled my mom. "I was just kissing a boy! It is not like I am selling drugs or something!" replied my sister. "For all I know you could be because it seems like I don't you anymore!" Confusion devoured me. I was eagerly trying to figure everything, but I was too young to put this puzzle together. ... • 37. Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott, was published in 1868 and follows the lives, loves, and troubles of the four March sisters growing up during the American Civil War.1 The novel is loosely based on childhood experiences Alcott shared with her own sisters, Anna, May, and Elizabeth, who provided the hearts of the novel's main characters.2 The March sisters illustrate the difficulties of girls growing up in a world that holds certain expectations of the female sex; the story details the journeys the girls make as they grow to be women in that world. Figures 1 and 2 in the Appendix are of Orchard House, the basis for the March family home, where the Alcotts lived. Little Women was originally published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869; the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alcott was often inspired by familiar elements in her writing: Anna, her married sister, was the model for Meg, the family beauty; Elizabeth, who died at twenty–three, was the basis for Beth; May, Alcott's strong–willed sister, was portrayed as Amy; Louisa depicted herself as Jo, the stubborn, fiery main character.10 Alcott freely corresponded with readers who addressed her as "Miss March" or "Jo," and did not correct them.11 Meg, sixteen at the beginning of the book, is the oldest March sister. She is referred to as the beauty of the family and runs the household when her mother is absent. Meg fulfills the expectations for women of the time; she is already a nearly perfect "little woman" from the start.12 Jo, the principal character, is fifteen at the opening of the book; she is a willful and strong young woman, struggling to subdue her forceful personality. Her failures render her a more realistic, charming character.13 Beth, thirteen when the novel starts, is described as shy, musical, and gentle; she is easily the shyest March sister and the peacemaker of the family.14 The main loss of the novel is Beth's passing; her "self–sacrifice" is ultimately the greatest in the novel – she gives up her life knowing that it had only "private, domestic meaning."15 Amy, the youngest March sister, is twelve when the story begins. She is the artist of the family, and is described as a "regular snow–maiden" with golden, curly hair and blue eyes, "pale and slender" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teaching my little sisters how to read will forever be one of the most challenging things I have ever done. The weekend I taught Carlee and Kalee how to read will always play over in my mind. This is the story of the week that I went insane trying to teach my little sisters how to read. It was the summer of 2013, the weekend before Carlee and Kalee started Kindergarten. They had just turned five and they were as fun–loving and energetic as ever. They had been going to a program called, HIPPIE, all last school year. That program can help kids in many ways, including the basics on how to read. However, the twins still weren't the brightest fish in the sea. They needed some help, and mom thought that I should be the one to teach them. The good thing was that the twins were all for the idea of me teaching them how to read. They were excited, and that was good! First, we went to the library to get books. I told them they were only allowed to get two books each. • 69. Analysis Of The Movie ' The Big Sleep ' In The Big Sleep, Chandler portrays Marlowe as the knight in shining armor. This establishes a motif of the stained glass window in General Stern wood's home in the first chapter of the novel and is an appropriate motif in dictating Marlowe's knightly role in the novel. The stained glass that is reflected in the novel places Marlowe in the position of the knight as it shows a knight who strives to reach a woman to set her free. The fact that he stares at the glass makes him develop the need to offer assistance. This motif is suitable because it sets the stage for what is to take place in the aftermath when Marlowe rescues Carmen. Secondly, Chandler tries to connect Marlowe with the knightly personality from the beginning of the novel that he intended to name his detective the modern knight and a brave man fighting for General Sternwood. He takes the role of the servant to Sternwood's lord and therefore, in the knightly terms, it is sufficient to say that Marlowe is striving to find justice. Moreover, he is dedicated to rendering his services in the line of duty with much loyalty and honor despite the sexual and financial temptations that come his way. Like the ancient knights, Marlowe has deeply invested in his personal code of chivalry that contain among others, the need to overcome the sexual temptation of whatever magnitude that comes his way. Lastly, as a representation of the modern–day knight, Marlowe comes out in the novel as a tough detective and a brave individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. Personal Narrative : My Little Sister I remember the summer my little sister, Alexis who was 16 at the time, came to visit me from South Carolina. I was working on Naval Air Station North Island at a placed called FRC Southwest at the time. The day after she arrived for her visit, she woke up at 5:00 a.m., groomed herself, ate a small breakfast and met me in my car at 6:15 a.m. to go to work with me. She did every day for the first two weeks of her two–month long visit with me. One day while we were in my office I asked her, "Wouldn't you rather stay at home and sleep–in instead of waking up at 5 in the morning with me, just to go to my boring job?" She replied, "I rather be sitting here at your boring job with you than to be sitting at home alone bored in that too quiet house, where the only company I have is my thoughts. I don't even have my cellphone to talk to anyone or to go on Facebook and Instagram right now because it's broken, so I think I'll pass on staying home by myself and being lonely." I thought to myself how I would love to sit in a quiet house by myself for once just to relax and let the time pass and to have a moment of solitude. With technology getting more and more innovative, connectivity to everything and everyone is becoming exceptionally easy. Technology has creeped its way into just about every aspect of our lives and afforded us the capabilities for having friendships that are just a click, text, Facebook post, and Snap chat video away. With everyone at your fingertips, who would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. My Family At The United States Essay My family of five is blessed to have unique names that are quite different from the common "Sams" and "Johns" floating around the United States. However, it is not the tongue twister names that confuse people as they get acquainted with my family. When I share the names to others, I never fail to baffle people at the end of my list, Heonsu, Misug, Onyoo, Youngeun, and Sarah. "Sarah?" they exclaim. "Wait, what? Why is her name different?". Every time this occurs, I am forced to explain in my practiced speech tone, "My family immigrated to the United States from South Korea when I was six. We all have Korean names, but my little sister was born here, so she has an American name." Most people are satisfied with this answer before I can splurge with more information. They just leave, scratching the backs of their heads and continue with their mundane tasks. As a result, no one truly knows all the bizarre events that led to my little sister's common name. My little sister was born in June, 2007. The weeks before her birth were filled with excitement since she was a late addition to our family. There were pastel pink themed baby showers, house visits overflowing with Pampers diapers, and elderly church ladies knitting sunset–yellow blankets. All the visitors asked the pre–requisite set of questions to my parents: "How is the health of the baby and mother? What is the gender? Are you excited? When is the due date?" and so on. What they failed to inquire about was the name of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
