Fighting
Fighting, or kumite, is the freestyle use of moves one has learned. During this freestyle match, the
students may use any technique they have learned in their training for either defensive or offensive
purposes. Fighting is involved with probably only 30 % of skill the student has. However, this is a
very important part of the whole. As mention earlier, katas help in perfecting the moves and the
focus of executing them. On the other hand, fighting employs these moves.
Practicing in fighting will assist in the timing and rhythm of the execution of the move. In a kata you
have as long as you want to throw each kick, each block, each punch, and as much time to move
into the next stance.
During a fight, you must use these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of blocking all of these attacks, you can stop them. If you block the kick and follow up
quickly with your own set of attacks this will surprise the opponent and interrupt his rhythm. The
only way to get a good grasp on these ideas mentioned is to practice.
The only way to become a good fighter is to practice fighting. I don't mean to go out on the streets
and pick a fight with one person after another. Not only is that stupid it is also illegal. I mean to
practice fighting in a controlled environment where both fighters have respect for one another.
Fighters having respect for one another doesn't mean they are going to "take it easy on each other",
it means that if one is knocked to the ground the other isn't going to jump on top of him and
continue beating the crap out of him or if a good punch or kick is thrown the fighter getting hit
should acknowledge the attack and not get pissed off.
The Tae Kwon Do style of fighting is different than many other styles of martial arts fighting. Tae
kwon do could best be described as street fighting. It is mainly composed of kicks punches and
blocks, however there are a few take–downs and throws. When a throw or take down is executed in
TKD, one or two attacks are executed at the downed opponent, after that the attacker backs away.
This is because TKD is not wrestling or rolling around on the ground throwing

Research Paper On Kickboxing
Most people are discouraged from hitting others; I, however, was taught how to throw a punch
properly. I started kickboxing when I was 15 years old, and I fell in love with it immediately. I
relished the feeling of pushing my body past its limits and feeling my muscles complain the next
day as validation of my hard work. As a kid I had never played team sports like most of my friends
did; while they had soccer practices I stayed home and read books, because my mom taught me to
cherish my education over all things. Kickboxing had finally given me an activity to call my own;
not to mention it was a much more effective stress outlet than looking to Netflix for distraction.
After I turned 16, I filled out lots of applications to make some extra

I Am A Third Culture Kid (TCK)
Born to a Moroccan father and a French mother had a great impact on my upbringing. More so,
being the child of a diplomat. It has definitively brought its shares of benefits and sometimes
unexpected challenges and you can say that I am a Third Culture Kid (TCK). I have had the unique
experience of being exposed to and living in cultures different from my home culture for long
periods of time and that exposure has been found to have an impact on the level of authoritarianism
that I am exhibiting. It has been brought to my attention that in my professional and personal life, I
have a tendency to try to impose my opinion on others. Moving forward, I am seeing myself trying
to change this perception that others have of me as being "too aggressive" (not in the physical
sense), "too abusive" or "too direct" and even sometimes excessively curt or critical. In retrospect, I
found myself many times thinking if something I had said or a reaction I had was uncalled for. I
know that a change to a specific trait(s) in one's personality cannot occur overnight, but admitting
that I have flaws is a good precursor to change. My assessment survey also unraveled an interesting
gap (negative) between how effective of a leader I think I am and what others think. I breathe a sigh
of relief when seeing that at least I am being seen as a somewhat effective leader despite being too
demanding and direct. Ultimately, my vision or the "big change" as I would like to call it, should

Sparring Research Paper
Sparring It is your first time putting on your gear, with excitement running through your body. You
go from sitting on the side lines watching, from finally getting to know what it is like to spar. You
line up according to rank, and you turn and bow to your instructor, and then your fellow classmate
who you will be sparring. You step back and giup, as everyone else does, and your instructor calls
start. As you walk forward and start, you notice it is not as easy as it seems. As a white belt you also
notice you cannot just simply jump in and get everything down at that exact time, but you notice
how you will have to practice this your entire lifetime of taekwondo. Sparring is a way to practice

Tournament sparring is much more competitive. It is where you finally put your training to the test,
and try your best to win or achieve your goal. There are different types to levels of sparring as well,
such as states, or national. Some sparring tournaments allow full contact where knock out is
allowed. In a standard sparring match, you versus opponents with the same rank and usually people
within the same age range. Judges stand in the four corners of the rings, and when someone makes
contact on another person without being blocked, it is a point. In a sparring match, the opponents
might "clash" which means both strike each other at the same time, and no points are counted. All
points usually count as one, but if someone throws a successful and controlled kick to the head with
slight touch, it is two points. Three rounds will usually occur and whoever has the most points by
the end of the rounds will win. From there, the winners from each round will continue to spar until
there is one final winner. The winners will either get some sort or trophy or medal for the place they
come in. When you walk away from a tournament, you will always learn some sort of lesson. It
might be about what to do better next time, or how you should treat every opponent with

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
MMA is a form of fighting that uses many movements of the body. MMA is also known as Mixed
Martial arts. Martial arts originated in Asia and became extremely famous in many parts of the
world including America. Many people might think that it is easy to learn martial arts, but there is a
lot to consider. There are different kinds of martial arts and they all are different, some may have
different fighting moves and may require different fighting skills. An individual can learn multiple
forms of combat and combine them to make Mixed Martial Arts. The history of mixed martial arts
can be traced back to Greece and there are many types that have evolved, but they all require strict
training methods and can provide various careers. Chinese martial arts is an extremely popular sport,
it dates back all the way to 2000B.C. One of first martial arts fighter was emperor Huang Di, he was
said to be the best martial arts fighter in Asia, and he has his army learn martial arts for combat
during wars. Many say early martial arts spread throughout Europe and the Middle East but not
much evidence has been found. Even though Chinese martial art was one of the first created, it is
different from the martial arts we use today. The martial arts we use today was created in 527A.D, it
was created by an Indian monk by the name of Ta Mo. Ta Mo valued his fighting skills and wanted
to show many Buddhist how to do martial arts. He taught approximately 20 Buddhist to use martial

The Influences That Led Me To Joining Martial Arts
I had a few different influences that got me to join martial arts. One of the biggest was my friend
Jaden, he told me that sunnyvale martial arts was really fun. I also wanted to do martial arts for a
very long time so I Had finally found a good martial arts school. I also had lots of other friends that
also went to martial arts and I wanted to join them. Those are the main influences or reasons that I
Joined martial arts.
I wanted to learn many different things from martial arts. I wanted to learn how to defend myself in

I got over wanting to take a break because I Remembered that if I Did I Probably wouldn't be in the
same belts as my friends. So I Really never wanted to quit.
I had a few obstacles on the path to black belt. I needed to perfect a lot of my kicks like roundhouse
and side kick mostly by correcting the foot position. I also needed more energy along the way. So
overall I Didn't have that many obstacles.
There are many important benefits you get from martial arts such as focus, discipline, and respect.

The Pros And Cons Of Terranoid Newspapers
Are we streaming yet?" I ask.
"No, not yet." An impatient purple–skinned, bipedal foreigner walks to reach a chair from my right
side to sit down next to me. A pile of thin, white sheets of paper appear in the snap of her finger.
"Why prepare an interview for two hours when it's going to take up ten minutes of air time?"
My patience has its limits, but this is a bit too far. From testing the lighting, to asking me to wear
makeup to cover any 'abnormalities', these people are too perfectionist for their own good. StarX–
TV isn't a popular channel, a controversial one at that for it's far right political propaganda. The only
reason why I am here is because I'm allegedly one of the very few Terranoid races that live around
the star system. I didn't do my research on this 'news' channel: this is my punishment. Lets see how
crazy this will be.

Descriptive Essay About God
"Coming Clean" I don't think there's a god, but I think there's a part of the mind we like to call 'god'.
Right out of high school, I experienced that part of myself for the first time. A friend of mine sold
me a quarter bag of 'srooms and I ate them all within an hour or so. All through the evening, I sat in
my chair shuckling like a rabbi in his tallit. Every nerve in my body sang out at once and I felt
myself surrounded by ghost. They spoke in the great language which holds meaning without words.
And so, everything was a silent flicker–watching shadows, seeing the true depth of the sun's rays for
the first time. A few months later, I tripped on acid and saw how everything in the world was
connected. "And that," I said, "is universal bliss." A a few months later, I tripped again and saw how
everything in the world was disconnected. Existence crawls forth with the intention to connect, but
it never quite gets there. All of us our quite terribly alone, not for lack of people. We're alone
because we have this ghost inside of us, who speaks in a language no one can hear or understand. In
that, I mean you will die with your music still inside of you. "And that," I said, "is incredibly sad." I
discovered Percocet after a surgery on my jaw. I came home with my mind sailing high in orange
and yellow clouds with rays of sunlight streaming. I attacked the wall with old brushes and acrylic
paint. I found a rhythm with my chaotic swipes and stabs and my whole body trembled

I Was Wrong For My Brother
I was wrong.
Being the youngest in my family, I had always thought that there exist only one path for me to
follow–the path that had been established by those who walked in front of me, my parents and my
brother. For many of years, blinded by this idea, I unknowingly had always been following the
footsteps of my brother who is two years older than me as the role model. Following the things he
did, trying to achieve the same things that he achieved, soon, I became a shadow that imitated his
every movement.
Being able to attend the same competitive elementary school in Indonesia even though I was still
under the required age, made me realize that I was able to follow the same expectation that my
parents had for my brother. However, despite of the hard work that I put into studying, I wasn't able
to sit at the top during the elementary school year as I could barely pass the classes. This made me
conscious of the differences between those who are gifted and those who aren't.
Not capable of entering the same middle school as my brother forced me to see the gap between us
increase every moment. I started to run in an attempt to close the gap, but I tripped and couldn't run.
I could only watch the gap increase yet again.
During the middle school years, I joined the same martial arts club that my brother attended after I
gazed in awe of the medals that my brother had won during a city martial arts tournament. Two
years of training in the martial arts club turned the no name me

Dojo Observation
The dojo I visited is the dojo Buena Park known as Chushinkan Dojo which is taught by Nakayama
Sensei. I visited the dojo on Thursday, November 12, 2015. I did have general observations of the
dojo, the class, the instructor, and the training. There were techniques I recognized and a new Aikido
concept I have not experienced before. There was a technique I found interesting. There was not
much a difference in learning from CSUF and the dojo. The most interesting part of my visit was
watching students test.
I had general observations about the dojo, the class, the instructor, and the training. The dojo did not
have its own property and was inside a community center, this was something I did not expect. In
this Aikido course in CSUF, I remember ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some students did better than others which is usual for testings. In the Aikido course I remember
when Sensei would speak about how an actual dojo has people who are determined with Aikido and
are more serious with Aikido than the regular student in the Aikido course. I could understand what
Sensei meant because I could see the determination and hard work these students have when they do
testing. They put the most effort they can when testing compared to the students in the Aikido
course. The most significant part was that after students finished their test there was encouragement
to applause, and this shows that the students admired each other in their hard work and dedication.
This applause and admiration is not that common in our Aikido course sessions because it is
apparent that people who have determination with Aikido have more enthusiasm and love for it.
I visited the Chushinkan Dojo in Buena Park and learned a little more about Aikido not mainly in
techniques, but how Aikido is viewed in a different setting such as an actual dojo where individuals
are serious with Aikido. There were techniques I recognized and a new Aikido concept I have not
experienced before. I admire how Aikido is usually done not for profit but for sharing Aikido with
others, which is seen when the dojo is in a community center. The dojo visit was actually an
interesting experience

The Era Of The Oldest Recorded Dynasty Essay
A history rich country, China stands as one of the most ancient civilizations that modern humanity
knows of. The oldest recorded dynasty was the Xia which was at its peak around 1800BCE. Dynasty
after dynasty came next, over twenty different dynasties have risen and fallen in Chinese history.
The last being the Qing Dynasty which ended in 1911 and ultimately led to the rise of the People's
Republic of China which was founded in 1949 as a Communist Party. This gave rise to their
economy which is to this day getting stronger and stronger. Through the parties many reforms and
opening–up policy, China has flourished economically. The class system is also comprised of four
sections, the highest is the Scholars and Government Officials, next the Farmers and peasants, then
the Artisans and finally the lowest class is comprised of Merchants. The system is based upon who
does the most for society and who produces the most. Throughout thousands of years of feudal
governing the Chinese have created and invented beautiful painting and machines. Some of the most
renown inventions are known as the "Four Great Inventions of Ancient China", which includes

Junior Research Paper on Wrestling
The History Of Wrestling My first year of wrestling was in high school my junior year. I wrestled at
Forbush High School in the 106/113 pound weight class throughout this winter sport. Before, I must
admit that I did at many different times think that the sport of wrestling was the most dumb and
homosexual sport ever. One of my friends came up to me a few months after and asked me what I
thought about wrestling. I told him like I said to everyone else, "It's the most homosexual sport ever
created." He said, "When you're out there wrestling, you don't think about it. I challenge you to

A new era of wrestling was born called the WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation). The
WWWF was founded by Vince McMahon Sr. and Toots Mondt in the year of 1963 when Capital
Wrestling broke away from the NWA. The WWWF performed in the cities of New York,
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and other smaller towns as well
(Strongbow). A man named Buddy Rogers was selected to be the very first WWWF champion in
1963. He was veteran wrestler at the time and was defeated by Bruno Sammartino after only holding
the title for only a few months. Sammartino held the title until 1971 until he was defeated by Ivan
Koloff, who later on defeated Koloff in 1973 (Strongbow). The company was renamed from
WWWF to WWF (World Wrestling Federation) in 1979 ("Online World Of Wrestling"). Vince
McMahon Sr. sold the company to his son Vince McMahon Jr. in 1983 (Cohen). Vince set out to
conquer the wrestling world with his new company. One of Vince's first moves was signing legend
Hulk Hogan who is still considered one of the greatest WWF wrestlers to this very day. He signed
Hulk Hogan as an ambassador for his wrestling brand. Vince had found out it was costing him a lot
of money to be on TV. and needed to do something big for his company. In 1985 the WWF made
their first impact by Vince getting Mr. T the main event match for the first Wrestlemania event; the

the two back feet, after they have both caught and dallied they turn their horses so that a straight line
is made and the steer is stretched out with the ropes tight. 2. In the event of team roping the goal is
to get the fastest time because that is how you win. 3. If the header misses or the heeler misses then
they don't receive a time, and if the heeler only catches one of the two back feet a five second

Perspective. Nothing burnishes it more than the erosion caused by life's constant friction against

The Meaning Of Discipline In School
Discipline means follow rules to be worked hard by someone in the interest of teaching something
to the student. Discipline is taught in many places in many ways. I was taught discipline at a school
that studied the art of taekwondo. This school helped me with my shyness and confidence problem.
Without Euns Martial Arts Center I would not be the person I am today. My first year of taekwondo
taught me the meaning of discipline. Joining this school was one the best decisions I ever made.
I can never forget the day I decided this was the thing I wanted to do. It was a sunny day and my dad
and I were wondering around Knoxville when we came upon EMAC. My dad had decided that I
needed something to help me with my lack of confidence so we walked through that door. I was
amazed as we sat there and watched the class. There were colorful belts and at the end they fought
each other with pads on their legs and arms. After they bowed and shook hands with the teacher and
his assistants. He walked over to where we were sitting.
"Welcome!" he said with a Korean accent. My dad introduced himself and I did the same. Then we
followed him to a room in the back of what looked like a padded room where the class had just
practiced. I didn't know it then it said OFFICE. I was amazed by the Korean artifacts. He and my
dad talked like what seemed like an hour. Then I tried on uniforms they were white and felt like

Modern And Brazilian Jujutsu
There are three main types of Jujitsu: Traditional, Gendai or modern, and Brazilian . Traditional
jujitsu is considered a Japanese art just as kado, or flower arrangement; and chado, or tea ceremony.
JuJitsu is composed of techniques and moves such as joint locking, throwing, sweeping, chokes, and
striking. Weapon training is also a relevant although not necessary part of Jujutsu, typically, knife,
sword, or staff. The main goal or objective of Jujutsu is to defeat the enemy by any means necessary
but also using as little effort as possible. In JuJItsu techniques should never require one to have to be
stronger then the other member, in other words Jujitsu is about technique and manipulation and less
about brute strength. This theory was taken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mma Training Techniques
If you are just starting out in MMA training this article won't do you much good. In the beginning of
your training it's essential to focus on the basics and don't get sucked into the more advanced
routines and techniques. The beginning MMA fighter has a lot on their plate and should learn the
basics and learn them very well.
To me MMA is without a doubt the most demanding sport there is. It not only requires that a fighter
knows an endless number of precise movements and techniques on the ground, standing up, and

It was Monday everything was going normally until when the clock, struck 1:00 and my friend
called me and said you are in karate class, then suddenly I jumped out from the couch and said

Julie: Hello, and welcome to Black Belt Interviews which will be in Black Belt Magazine. I am Julie
Smith and today we have special guest Ed Parker. Mr. Parker has created a style called Kenpo
Karate which belongs to the American system. Mr. Parker is fondly called as "Father of American
Kenpo". It is very obvious that many people look up to Mr. Parker as a great martial artist. Today,
we are here to ask him about his inspiration and reasons for creating this style of martial arts.
Mr. Parker: Thank you Julie. I decided to create this style of martial arts because I have lately been

However, American Kenpo is now known internationally. How did Mr. Parker: You are correct in
saying that when I first created American Kenpo, I was never seeking for it to become so popular. I
did want to spread the word about Kenpo however, and I was able to do this by teaching many
famous people such as Elvis Presley and Bruce Lee. Elvis and I are actually very close friends and
he has always assisted me in making American Kenpo popular. With Elvis being such a famous
musician, he often performed in front of an audience. Whenever he was performing, he played a
guitar that had the Kenpo Karate patch on it. By doing so, many audience members consulted him
about the patch and in doing so he led them to me. I was also the one who was able to get Bruce Lee
into the acting world. Bruce and I met through one of my friends. From the second that Bruce
showed me a couple of moves, it was obvious that he had the potential to be a great martial artist.
Bruce also shared his desire to be an actor and asked for my assistance. I asked him to perform at
the very first International Karate Championships and I videotaped him while he was performing.
With his permission, I shared the video with a few directors who were searching for an action star.
After Bruce's first onscreen performance, he became a big hit. Bruce and I are still very close friends
and have several discussions about martial artists. Bruce

bullies and taken under the wing by the well–mannered, black belted handyman. Both the original
Karate Kid, released in 1984, and the 2010 remake made an impact on our culture, and they both
taught us lessons about judgement, bullying, and stereotyping.
In the 1984 film, our young hero, Daniel LaRusso, moves to New Jersey with his mother. Likewise,
our younger hero from the 2010 remake, Dre Parker, moves from Detroit to Beijing for his mother's

their respective handyman, Mr. Miyagi in the original, and Mr. Han in the remake. These men act as
the only father figures throughout the films. These unique settings created a mysterious surrounding

Public Schools Is Not A Martial Arts
Another view those that may initially be opposed to jiu jitsu in public schools is that it encourages
violence. Some people may think that jiu jitsu teaches people to be more efficiently violent, and we
should not teach our youths this martial art. However, Jiu jitsu, much like many other martial arts, is
not a martial art that the purpose and intention of learning is violence or inflicting harm upon others.
Contrary to this, people who train jiu jitsu often learn when to defend themselves should they be put

Respect, commitment, dedication, and communication are social skills that are the major social
skills that people that train jiu jitsu learn, and they will cross over into skills that youths can learn
from jiu jitsu as well.
Respect for others and self–respect is something that is implicitly learned through jiu jitsu. Coaches
teach respect to their students implicitly, meaning it is not something that is directly taught and
stated in the sense of "you must have respect". Rather, it is something that is part of the jiu jitsu
culture. People that train jiu jitsu learn to respect their own bodies, as well as those of others. When
training, respect is learned by paying attention to the coaches, which for youths also translates into
learning patience to respect when the coach is instructing.
Commitment and dedication are also social skills that are learned through jiu jitsu. Children benefit
by learning commitment and dedication in jiu jitsu through being encouraged to not give up. While
jiu jitsu is a sport that takes time to learn, the length of time to master jiu jitsu is much longer (10

Self Defense Training And Traditional Martial Arts Essay
Title
Self–Defense Training and Traditional Martial Arts: Influences on Self–Efficacy and Fear Related to
Sexual Victimization
Authors
Kimberly Ball, Instructor at Oakland Community College
Jeffrey Martin, Professor at Wayne State University
Hypothesis
"The purpose of this study was to examine if traditional martial arts (TMA) and modern self–
defense training (MSDT), relative to a stress–management comparison program, were equally
effective in altering both multidimensional self–efficacy and fear in relation to sexual victimization"
(Ball and Martin, 2011, p. 1). Do these type of actions reflect on one's self–esteem and stress levels?
Do they also help out during any type of sexual confrontation? These are the rhetorical questions are
trying to be answered in this research experiment.
Method
Many people have experienced a type of sexual assault, whether it is rape or being inappropriately
touched in private places. Most of these people are the women in our society. Many times when
these incidents happen, women look for different ways to protect themselves from the sexual
assaults and eventually look to prevent those incidents from ever happening again. Some women
look for different self–defense training programs in their modern day lives and some look to a more
physical protection program, such as martial arts. There hasn't been any recent studies that have
compared the two programs together to see which one is actually effective in those sexual assault
incidents. Bell and

Is Batman A Better Superhero Than Superman
Batman is a better superhero than Superman, because he doesn't have natural super–powers, he has
to rely on his intellect to outsmart and capture his foes.
Superman appears to be a great Superhero because he has super–human strength, super–speed,
super–human reflexes, super–senses, super durability and endurance. With all of Superman's super
powers, Batman can still save everyone's life at the end of the day, without the super powers that
Superman naturally has.
Thus Batman's alter ego Bruce Wayne's genius intellect enables him to outsmart Superman in
multiple ways. Batman's martial arts ability, makes Batman a better fighter than Superman, although
Superman has super powers, he can overpower Batman with his strength, but Batman can outsmart
Superman with his genius intellect, making him a better fighter. For example, Batman has trained
his body to near perfection, he has studied criminology, the sciences , escape artistry, martial arts
and gymnastics. On the other hand, Superman has every superpower that exists, which even
includes a solar flare. Superman is extremely intelligent and has access to the Kryptonian
technology, which are powers from the earth's yellow sun. If there is no sun Superman powers
deplete; therefore, in my opinion Superman is the most overpowered, overrated superhero that ever

Karate Essay

  • 1. karate Essay Fighting Fighting, or kumite, is the freestyle use of moves one has learned. During this freestyle match, the students may use any technique they have learned in their training for either defensive or offensive purposes. Fighting is involved with probably only 30 % of skill the student has. However, this is a very important part of the whole. As mention earlier, katas help in perfecting the moves and the focus of executing them. On the other hand, fighting employs these moves. Practicing in fighting will assist in the timing and rhythm of the execution of the move. In a kata you have as long as you want to throw each kick, each block, each punch, and as much time to move into the next stance. During a fight, you must use these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of blocking all of these attacks, you can stop them. If you block the kick and follow up quickly with your own set of attacks this will surprise the opponent and interrupt his rhythm. The only way to get a good grasp on these ideas mentioned is to practice. The only way to become a good fighter is to practice fighting. I don't mean to go out on the streets and pick a fight with one person after another. Not only is that stupid it is also illegal. I mean to practice fighting in a controlled environment where both fighters have respect for one another. Fighters having respect for one another doesn't mean they are going to "take it easy on each other", it means that if one is knocked to the ground the other isn't going to jump on top of him and continue beating the crap out of him or if a good punch or kick is thrown the fighter getting hit should acknowledge the attack and not get pissed off. The Tae Kwon Do style of fighting is different than many other styles of martial arts fighting. Tae kwon do could best be described as street fighting. It is mainly composed of kicks punches and blocks, however there are a few take–downs and throws. When a throw or take down is executed in TKD, one or two attacks are executed at the downed opponent, after that the attacker backs away. This is because TKD is not wrestling or rolling around on the ground throwing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Research Paper On Kickboxing Most people are discouraged from hitting others; I, however, was taught how to throw a punch properly. I started kickboxing when I was 15 years old, and I fell in love with it immediately. I relished the feeling of pushing my body past its limits and feeling my muscles complain the next day as validation of my hard work. As a kid I had never played team sports like most of my friends did; while they had soccer practices I stayed home and read books, because my mom taught me to cherish my education over all things. Kickboxing had finally given me an activity to call my own; not to mention it was a much more effective stress outlet than looking to Netflix for distraction. After I turned 16, I filled out lots of applications to make some extra ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. I Am A Third Culture Kid (TCK) Born to a Moroccan father and a French mother had a great impact on my upbringing. More so, being the child of a diplomat. It has definitively brought its shares of benefits and sometimes unexpected challenges and you can say that I am a Third Culture Kid (TCK). I have had the unique experience of being exposed to and living in cultures different from my home culture for long periods of time and that exposure has been found to have an impact on the level of authoritarianism that I am exhibiting. It has been brought to my attention that in my professional and personal life, I have a tendency to try to impose my opinion on others. Moving forward, I am seeing myself trying to change this perception that others have of me as being "too aggressive" (not in the physical sense), "too abusive" or "too direct" and even sometimes excessively curt or critical. In retrospect, I found myself many times thinking if something I had said or a reaction I had was uncalled for. I know that a change to a specific trait(s) in one's personality cannot occur overnight, but admitting that I have flaws is a good precursor to change. My assessment survey also unraveled an interesting gap (negative) between how effective of a leader I think I am and what others think. I breathe a sigh of relief when seeing that at least I am being seen as a somewhat effective leader despite being too demanding and direct. Ultimately, my vision or the "big change" as I would like to call it, should start by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Pros And Cons Of Terranoid Newspapers Are we streaming yet?" I ask. "No, not yet." An impatient purple–skinned, bipedal foreigner walks to reach a chair from my right side to sit down next to me. A pile of thin, white sheets of paper appear in the snap of her finger. "Why prepare an interview for two hours when it's going to take up ten minutes of air time?" My patience has its limits, but this is a bit too far. From testing the lighting, to asking me to wear makeup to cover any 'abnormalities', these people are too perfectionist for their own good. StarX– TV isn't a popular channel, a controversial one at that for it's far right political propaganda. The only reason why I am here is because I'm allegedly one of the very few Terranoid races that live around the star system. I didn't do my research on this 'news' channel: this is my punishment. • 15. Descriptive Essay About God "Coming Clean" I don't think there's a god, but I think there's a part of the mind we like to call 'god'. Right out of high school, I experienced that part of myself for the first time. A friend of mine sold me a quarter bag of 'srooms and I ate them all within an hour or so. All through the evening, I sat in my chair shuckling like a rabbi in his tallit. Every nerve in my body sang out at once and I felt myself surrounded by ghost. They spoke in the great language which holds meaning without words. And so, everything was a silent flicker–watching shadows, seeing the true depth of the sun's rays for the first time. A few months later, I tripped on acid and saw how everything in the world was connected. "And that," I said, "is universal bliss." A a few months later, I tripped again and saw how everything in the world was disconnected. Existence crawls forth with the intention to connect, but it never quite gets there. All of us our quite terribly alone, not for lack of people. We're alone because we have this ghost inside of us, who speaks in a language no one can hear or understand. In that, I mean you will die with your music still inside of you. "And that," I said, "is incredibly sad." I discovered Percocet after a surgery on my jaw. I came home with my mind sailing high in orange and yellow clouds with rays of sunlight streaming. I attacked the wall with old brushes and acrylic paint. • 17. I Was Wrong For My Brother I was wrong. Being the youngest in my family, I had always thought that there exist only one path for me to follow–the path that had been established by those who walked in front of me, my parents and my brother. For many of years, blinded by this idea, I unknowingly had always been following the footsteps of my brother who is two years older than me as the role model. Following the things he did, trying to achieve the same things that he achieved, soon, I became a shadow that imitated his every movement. Being able to attend the same competitive elementary school in Indonesia even though I was still under the required age, made me realize that I was able to follow the same expectation that my parents had for my brother. However, despite of the hard work that I put into studying, I wasn't able to sit at the top during the elementary school year as I could barely pass the classes. This made me conscious of the differences between those who are gifted and those who aren't. Not capable of entering the same middle school as my brother forced me to see the gap between us increase every moment. I started to run in an attempt to close the gap, but I tripped and couldn't run. I could only watch the gap increase yet again. During the middle school years, I joined the same martial arts club that my brother attended after I gazed in awe of the medals that my brother had won during a city martial arts tournament. • 19. Dojo Observation The dojo I visited is the dojo Buena Park known as Chushinkan Dojo which is taught by Nakayama Sensei. I visited the dojo on Thursday, November 12, 2015. I did have general observations of the dojo, the class, the instructor, and the training. There were techniques I recognized and a new Aikido concept I have not experienced before. There was a technique I found interesting. There was not much a difference in learning from CSUF and the dojo. The most interesting part of my visit was watching students test. In the Aikido course I remember when Sensei would speak about how an actual dojo has people who are determined with Aikido and are more serious with Aikido than the regular student in the Aikido course. I could understand what Sensei meant because I could see the determination and hard work these students have when they do testing. They put the most effort they can when testing compared to the students in the Aikido course. The most significant part was that after students finished their test there was encouragement to applause, and this shows that the students admired each other in their hard work and dedication. This applause and admiration is not that common in our Aikido course sessions because it is apparent that people who have determination with Aikido have more enthusiasm and love for it. I visited the Chushinkan Dojo in Buena Park and learned a little more about Aikido not mainly in techniques, but how Aikido is viewed in a different setting such as an actual dojo where individuals are serious with Aikido. There were techniques I recognized and a new Aikido concept I have not experienced before. I admire how Aikido is usually done not for profit but for sharing Aikido with others, which is seen when the dojo is in a community center. The dojo visit was actually an interesting experience ... Some people may think that jiu jitsu teaches people to be more efficiently violent, and we should not teach our youths this martial art. Respect for others and self–respect is something that is implicitly learned through jiu jitsu. Coaches teach respect to their students implicitly, meaning it is not something that is directly taught and stated in the sense of "you must have respect". Rather, it is something that is part of the jiu jitsu culture. People that train jiu jitsu learn to respect their own bodies, as well as those of others. When training, respect is learned by paying attention to the coaches, which for youths also translates into learning patience to respect when the coach is instructing. Commitment and dedication are also social skills that are learned through jiu jitsu. Children benefit by learning commitment and dedication in jiu jitsu through being encouraged to not give up. While jiu jitsu is a sport that takes time to learn, the length of time to master jiu jitsu is much longer (10 years to black belt) than martial arts and traditional sports. Do these type of actions reflect on one's self–esteem and stress levels? Do they also help out during any type of sexual confrontation? These are the rhetorical questions are trying to be answered in this research experiment. Is Batman A Better Superhero Than Superman Batman is a better superhero than Superman, because he doesn't have natural super–powers, he has to rely on his intellect to outsmart and capture his foes. Superman appears to be a great Superhero because he has super–human strength, super–speed, super–human reflexes, super–senses, super durability and endurance. With all of Superman's super powers, Batman can still save everyone's life at the end of the day, without the super powers that Superman naturally has. Thus Batman's alter ego Bruce Wayne's genius intellect enables him to outsmart Superman in multiple ways. Batman's martial arts ability, makes Batman a better fighter than Superman, although Superman has super powers, he can overpower Batman with his strength, but Batman can outsmart Superman with his genius intellect, making him a better fighter. For example, Batman has trained his body to near perfection, he has studied criminology, the sciences , escape artistry, martial arts and gymnastics. On the other hand, Superman has every superpower that exists, which even includes a solar flare. Superman is extremely intelligent and has access to the Kryptonian technology, which are powers from the earth's yellow sun.
