2. Cause and Effect of Young People Having Little
Leisure Time and are Under Pressure to Word Hard
in Their Studies
Nowadays, there are many challenges and problems for youngster to deal with.
These challenges include multiple homework, assignment and exam. Youngster will
likely to get sick as consequences for spending their midnight studying instead of
sleeping. What is the cause and effect of youngster having little leisure time and under
pressure to work hard in their studies?
Firstly, young people having little leisure time and under pressure in their
studies mostly caused by personal self-thinking. Nowadays, youngster might think study
hard; work hard is just the way to have a certificate to get employed or to earn their
living. Such thinking way causes them to feel stress and pressure in their daily life.
Sometimes, young people stay up to all night just want to complete their homework or
assignment before the submission date. This will lead to many diseases such as
diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attack and many others. Beside that, young people
who sleep late everyday will cause them to forget everything easily. This is because
sleeping late slows down the regeneration of the brain cells for teenager. So, doing
some various sports is the next thing that one can do in order to release the pressure
instead of stressing themselves through homework and assignments (easy forum,
2011).
Secondly, financial might be one of reasons students having little leisure and
feel pressure in their studies. Nowadays, the tuition fees for a course for university or
college is much expensive. Therefore, this causes students to feel stress and pressure

3. because some of them come from a poor family. Example, if they fail to pass a subject,
they will have to repeat it and pay for the repeat fees. Living expenses are all wasted
because of a mistake in the exam and sometimes this will cause a negative effect. That
is more difficult for those students who are expected by their parents to get a good
result in the exam and aim for scholarship. This is because family’s expectation and
requirements for the scholarship will make students feel stress and pressure on their
studies. They have to work hard and finish their assignment perfectly to meet up the
requirements of the scholarship. So, an effective time management is important for
those who want to get a good result in exam but not study up to whole night because
this only will bring negative influences to themselves but not benefit them.
Other than these, there are some other reasons that youngster have little
time and under a lot of pressure in their studies such as heavy education system. In
some of the courses, students will have to take up some subjects that are less relevant
to their course, for example, accounting and finance student have to take up
macroeconomics. As a result, this particular subject will not have their interest and
difficult for them. Some subjects are hard and students have to spend a lot of time to
understand and revise those topics that have been through. For example, some of the
students burn midnight oils to revise the topics as preparation for the test on the next
day. This makes students lack of sleeps and will cause them hard to remember what
have been revised yesterday. Burn midnight oil will also make students feel sleepy on
the day of the exam. So, early preparations are needed for students who having test
soon so they no need stay up all night for the test.
In my opinion, the main reason students are facing pressure for studies are
because of financial problem and low self-confidence. Although study is important but
we need good time management so that we don’t have to study at last minute until
midnight. This is because late sleep only will harms to our body and bring diseases for
