This study examines the effect of aligning strategic orientation with external environment and production technology on production performance in the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. The author distributed questionnaires to 60 respondents at oil and gas companies and received 49 responses. The results found that overall, companies' strategic orientations were aligned with external factors and technology to improve production. However, some companies' strategies did not perfectly match the external environment or current production technologies. The goal of the study was to determine how well-aligned different strategies are with external conditions and technologies in driving production outcomes in the oil and gas sector.
