5. Impact
• -Stabilization of kharif crop
• Crop diversification
• Adoption of SRI by 40% households
• Use of organic manures and pesticides by 60%
households thereby reducing input cost
• Promotion of central nursery and seed bank in 2
villages
• HH level income enhanced to Rs12,000-Rs 15,000
6. Problem Encountered
• -Transporting the pipes to villages inside
reserve forest area
• Intake structure at Routraypur and Riser
Assemblies at Tikiriapada were damaged by
elephants
• Height of the earthen embankment at
Routraypur was raised by the Forest
department with Madhyam’s facilitation
7. Suggestions
• -Clear cut strategies need to be developed to
ensure optimal use of water availability
through DBI structures
