 The tread way tire co. is a suppliers of tires to major car companies like ford,GM , Chrysler.
 9000 employees in North America
 1200 employees in lima (USA) location
 Tredway tire company only has one current operation manufacturing plant in north America
located in Lima, Ohio
 Lima's area-1.5 million square feet on 128acers of lend
 There was a second plant in Greenville, SC which closed in 2006 due to financial reasons
 Types of employees- hourly(970) and salaries (150)employees
 Hourly personnel unionized by USW(united steelworkers) which had merged with the united rubber
Workers in 1995.
 In 2000 $100 million expansion for increase capacity & utilized new manufacturing technology
 Due to update equipment & tech. spending lima had become one of tread way's top plant for
productivity & quality things
 In 2006 Tredway shut down in Greenville, south Caroline, plant which Had been plagued by outlated equipment
 The Lima stone foremen came from three source
 80% internal promotion of Lima's unionized workers. 2.16% under gradation collage
3. 4% experienced foreman transferred from other Tredway plants
