Reflective Practice Audit Essay
Reflective Practice Audit
Introduction
Within this audit I am going to be talking about the methods of learning and how they can be
assessed.
I will be showing the skills and experiences of which I have, how they have been developed and a
SWOT analysis to evaluate myself. Then I will have expanded on the findings of my skills and
experiences, with the final point that I will then be constructing a table showing my short and
long–term targets to develop skills and learning styles.
Then I will have a final inclusion of my bibliography and references by using the Harvard
referencing style.
Methods
From my research I have found out that there are four main learning styles of which I have

Of which I agree with because I prefer to watch when learning, as well as being involving
practically which I like better, but I would say that I don't like listening because it always feel that I
want to disagree with everything, as I want to visualise what is occurring.
By performing the lassi questionnaire I have found out that my areas of weakness are attitude
/interest, motivation, anxiety, use of support techniques/materials and test strategies/preparation for
exams.
Results
To show the results of my skills I have produced a table of skills that I possess, and experiences that
assist my learning: –

Examples Of Reflective Memo
This reflective memo has been composed to discuss my experience with developing a new
resume using the information I've learned in a Professional Writing course. With this assignment,
I was encouraged to explore beyond my comfort zone, and as a result I located a job I may
actually consider applying too. While the position in sales is a bit out of my reach currently, the
only obstacle is the distance as the company is located in Texas. While I was establishing a
resume and cover letter tailored to this job add, I found myself trying to write in a more
professional way to create a document I would be proud to have over to an employer. I made an
attempt to present myself more confidently worked to show more credible information for experience

Reflective Essay On Interview Experience
During the interview I learned various things about how a person who once was dreaming of a
career worked hard to make that dream closer and closer to reality. I always thought about jobs as
boring, stressful, and tiring ways to make money to sustain one's life. But from this interview
experience I have learned that it isn't always and doesn't have to be that way. It is important for
someone to pick a job they want to do, and if they don't like it, that's okay as long as they are
willing to obtain that burning determination and motivation to study and develop different variety
of newly introduced skills to accomplish what they want to do for a living. I realized that
working in a job that you don't enjoy doing isn't necessarily bad. Different jobs require different
skills and knowledge in different fields/areas. A person who switched jobs multiple times (not
because they got fired) has a higher possibility of having more skills and experiences on different
types of work, which causes the gap between the doors of opportunity to widen, enabling that
person to choose from a wide variety of different job options that they want to do and be content
with. From a student's' point of view, just the thought of getting into a job that you dream of seems
difficult and challenging. When we look at what we want to do when we grow up, we see a long
road ahead of us with constant obstacles of traffic jam (you have to compete with different people
who are closer to the destination than you

Reflective Essay On Self Esteem
Self–acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the
hardest to surmount, for it is something I still struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a
working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation,
social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively.
Sources of harmless entertainment have also unintentionally encouraged self–judgment. Be that as it
may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a speaker's presentation as she
showed us how to recognize our self–worth. Confidence and self–esteem are hard to acquire for
some, but it should not be a quantity you divest yourself of. Self–acceptance of all insecurities and
doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to
pursue a life full of love and jubilance.
During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers.
They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on the right side of the school while the boys
stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations
concretely for each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman,
we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how to be a lady. Towards the end
of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the
room, there was this resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us
as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for positivity before she even
commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too
had struggled with accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters
with bullying and how it had impacted her self–esteem even though she appeared so vigorous and
confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of
weakness, yet she too had relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing
someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own

Examples Of Senior Reflective Essay
Senior Reflective Essay Some people say that you cannot change what you refuse to confront.
Growing up in Compton it was hard because every action you did had a great consequence. My
parents were one of the authorities that set down a path without violence and away from drugs.
One of the greatest successes that I experienced in my past was having carried over my community
service from where I lived to where I am now. Carrying over my community service experience has
made it better for me to be around those who I can connect with and have fun helping others. The
greatest failure that I've experienced was the choice of friends that I had. With the majority of my
"friends" that I had, almost all were under bad influences. That made it harder for me to fit in with
kids who I resemble that make me...show more content...
Two significant people that made an impact for me are my parents because they have always
worked hard to give us everything we need. If it wouldn't have been for my parents guiding me to
be better than others I might have Joined a gang or been under bad influences. There are two
significant events that really impacted me one was a tragic event that happened to my neighbor
/friends, who lost their mother after she died for reasons that I was too young to remember. After
watching them live their lives without mothers I couldn't imagine how hard it was for them. The
Second event is a shooting that happened at home while we were gone and my brother wasn't with
us, my family and I were terrified until my mother received a call from my aunt who lived nearby,
who had my brother for several hours. After, that moment my family had begun to feel relieved and
learned to not let any moment we spend together be worthless. If there would be one thing that I
would change from my past it would be surrounding myself from kids who instead of helping each
other rise,

Reflective essay -Counselling session
Introduction. In this reflective essay I will provide an analysis of the counselling session I
conducted and recorded. This will include a summary of the session. I will also describe the
micro and advanced counselling skills utalised, as well as a critical evaluation of their
effectiveness. A discussion of my application of these skills, as well as areas of possible
improvement will supported by reference to relevant literature. Summary of the session. Leesa is a
37–year–old woman who I have seen around four months previously. At the previous session Leesa
spoke of her frustrations at work and of her hopes of securing a promotion. Leesa's presentation was
one of lethargy consistent with someone who was suffering feelings of...show more content...
It also conveyed that I was empathetic towards her situation. Geldard and Geldard (2009) explain
that minimal responses not only convey that the counselor is listening, they can also be used to
convey a message, such as surprise, agreement or even to challenge what has been said. The
meaning of these minimal responses is also influenced greatly upon the delivery of them. Tone of
voice, facial expression, posture and eye movement all help to determine the way in which these
messages are received. An example of a minimal response I made that conveyed empathy would
have been; when the client was describing her feelings of not being respected in her workplace and
I responded by saying: "sounds horrible". This short response did not interrupt the flow of
conversation, and encouraged the client to continue. My tone of voice and facial expressions were
also congruent with someone who empathized and was interested in what was being said. Reflective
Listening. Summarising, paraphrasing and reflection of feelings are all examples of counselling
micro–skills that let the client know that the counselor is listening and understanding them correctly.
Although it is important to try to respond accurately it is not essential as an incorrect response can
encourage the client to re–think what they have said and then clarify it, possibly resulting

Reflective Essay On Professionalism
Professionalism can be defined as "the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a
profession or a professional person."(Merriam–webster) My interpretation of this definition is that
professionalism is a standard that we must hold ourselves accountable to in order to provide the best
service. How do we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and applying
professionalism? Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability,
communication and reflective practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when
"practitioners engage in a continuous cycle of self–observation and self evaluation in order to
understand their own actions and the reactions they prompt in themselves" (becoming a better
university teacher...). In the day–to–day life, everyone performs a type of reflection whether it is by
unconscious thought or by habit. When it is unintentional it is hard to learn and grow from the
knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to find a way to effectively
incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation therapy students.
There is a simple three–step framework for practical, structured reflection by Dr. Natius Oelofsen
that really stood out to me. Reflective practice should not be complicated or time consuming or
else it will not be done efficiently or effectively. We need reflective practice to become habit during
our school years in order for it to be

Example Of Reflective Teaching
Reflective teaching
Reflective teaching has been one of the important tends in education since it helps teachers and
leaners in problem solving and decision–making processes and it foster critical–thinking abilities.
Study and learning of students comes from the different approaches, strategies and even methods
and principles. Learning is said to be the change in the behavior of a student or a learner. Reflective
practice is not just understanding of what is to be understood, reflection involves thinking about and
critical analyzing our action's and experiences. It help us in improving or learning and
understanding. Reflective teaching is largely based on shon's reflection–in–action and
reflection–on–action model.
John Dewey who is often considered to be the originator of the concept of reflection defines
reflective practice as an 'active persistent, and careful consideration of any belief or supposed form of
knowledge in the light of the grounds that support in, and the further conclusions to which it
tends...'(1993, p. 6).

both during and after actions to improve practice. Reflect in action, happens while teaching, and it
refers to the importance of teachers' being aware of their decisions as they work and it enables the
teacher to take the necessary steps towards his/her following actions. Reflection on action, it occurs
after the action has been completed and it engages the teacher with reviewing, analyzing and
evaluating which enhance professional

Reflection Paper About English Composition
English Composition I has developed my style of writing and my skills analyzing and
researching topics to write a piece about a topic. Throughout the course, I got better at analyzing
articles and pieces to get the meaning of the topic. With that improved skill I was more able to
use the information given from the text and install it into my essays, with proper citation if
needed. Before taking the English Composition course, I was not one to organize my essays in an
ordeal order to clearly state the point of the work. Now with taking the course, I have learned to
organize my essays, examine research for a topic, and develop an essay with proper mechanics, and
revising skills. In writing my personal, review, analytical, and cultural...show more content...
I then described my life and who I was. After describing this, I explained my experiences in
confronting racism. The point of the essay was to state that racism is still alive and can be present
anywhere. After writing this essay, I learned that my mechanics and style was not where it should
be. Even with the revisions Mr. Heldenfels made in the draft, I still made mistakes with mechanics
and tense shits. I had written comma splice and has several spelling mistakes. I looked to improve
my mechanics after writing this essay.
With writing my review essay of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's album The Bigger Artist. The essay
took some time to write because of the research I needed to gather. In this essay I used more
citations and quotes. I made mistakes the mechanics in writing the quotes. This was the first essay
in which we used sources, so it was challenging to create my own ideas but I was able to do it.
Writing this essay improved my knowledge of mechanics in citations and quotations.
Through taking the course, I learned to utilizes sources in a more efficient way. In writing my
analytical essay of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly I had to use ten sources. All the sources
I used provided different information, some provided more than others, but all sources were
needed to complete the essay. In collecting all the information for the essay, I had to research who
created the source and decide if it was credible. This essay assignment force me to examine works in

Examples Of Academic Reflection
During the whole process of designing the IMC plan for HP Sprocket in this semester, I have
earned valuable experience about teamwork, and I have learned lessons not only from class, but
also from the whole working process. First of all, I have to admit that this group is one of the best
groups I've ever had, I used to think that only failed experience helps people learn and grow.
However, this time in a well–organised group, I found that I was wrong, positive experience
contributes as well. This essay will reflect what I have learned, and it will be mainly divided into
two parts: academic reflection and experiential reflection.
Academic Reflection
In an IMC plan, separate segment needs to cooperate with each other through organisational
communications in order to ensure that audiences can receive a same key message from different
channels (Ots and Nyilasy 2015, 134–135). Personally, I feel it is perfectly understandable as a
first–time IMC practitioner. In this group work, because we do not have much time to discuss the
"Big Idea" at the very beginning, we decided to divide the work first and then combine them
together to find out the "Big Idea". However, I found that I cannot come up with useful strategies
without effectively communicating with my teammates about our goal for this plan. After we have
finished our first draft and uploaded it to Google Drive, we all agreed that this is a weak plan,
because the messages we try to deliver in each piece do not have much in common.
As Percy (2013, 2–3) pointed out, both the key and the goal of IMC planning are "to deliver a
consistent message". This made me think we might be wrong at the aiming stage. In this scenario,
assigning work without figuring out the requirement of an IMC plan is the problem of our group,
and I need to learn that figuring out the main requirements and setting a clear goal are essential
steps for innovative projects like an IMC plan. Because they can improve both individual's task
performance and group's working efficiency (Hoegl and Parboteeah 2003, 4). There may have
certain groups that can perform well without cooperating tightly, like a calculation group, but IMC
group is definitely not one of them. Which reminds me that in the

Example Of Reflection In Literature
In the span of this course, I have learned a great deal about myself in terms of literature. This
course has enabled me to make many great strides in my writing by exemplifying the works of
authors and their literary devices. English 1102 has broadened my literary horizon by showing me
more elegant ways to express my opinion. I am remorseful towards the fact that I did not take the
class in person. Inversely, I have learned better ways to communicate towards the audience, through
the use of various literary elements in lieu of going on tangents. In regards to taking English 1102,
I feel as though I am on the precipitous of progress through the use of parallel structure and diction
as a way of getting my point across, as well as using poetic styles from famous authors such as
Charlotte Gilman to better express my thoughts and ideas. On the other hand, not being able to take
the class in person has disabled me in a sense of not being able to garner a better sense of grammar
and punctuation. Furthermore, through the assignments that I have completed, I have mastered the
use of consistency which spurred on a more fluid line of communication with the readers through the
use of efficiently utilizing parallel structure and diction, instead of jumping from topic to topic. The
need to spew all perspectives originates from my predisposition of compacting conflicting opinions
on one paper. Notably, employing parallel structure has brightened up my writing tremendously. For

Reflective Essay On English 101
Proficient writing is an essential skill in all aspects of academic and professional achievement.
English 101, Introduction to Composition and Rhetoric, provided the framework to good writing,
teaching me composition and rhetoric fundamentals, polishing up my grammar and style, and
expressing a clear message. English 102, Composition, Rhetoric, and Research, continued to build
on the skills I learned in English 101, focusing on the subject matter research process and
employing various rhetorical and literary devices to better express a clear message to the reader.
The course also improved my critical thinking capacity, allowing me to culturally evaluate my
target audience, present logically flowing arguments using appropriate language and structure, and
critically reviewing my writing projects for content and expression. Every writer inherently knows
there's always room to improve and I hold fast to this mindset in all academic, professional, and
personal writing projects. English 102 has both challenged and inspired me to grow into a much
better writer than before I began the class, providing the necessary skills to be not just a good
writer, but a great writer.
Most of my English 102 writing projects are rhetorical arguments, intended to persuade the reader in
one direction or another. Reflecting on the many skills I honed in English 102, my predetermined
use of rhetorical strategies (ethos, logos, pathos), developing a concise thesis statement, and clearly

Reflective Essay on College Writing
Reflective Essay on College Writing
This semester was my very first semester as a college student. Being the first, it was probably the
semester I would learn the most in. I learned the expectations for writing that I will have to live up
to for the next four years of my college career. Though my high school teachers were usually
demanding because I was in the Honors English section throughout high school, writing in college
has still ?raised the bar? for me. Also, in high school, we would have weeks to pick a topic, create a
thesis, outline the paper, write the paper, and then revise the paper. In college, the timerestraints are
not quite as lenient. I?ve had to learn to manage my time and be more productive with what free

I definitely learned a great deal from our discussions about this book. I really did not like it at all
until the class sat down and analyzed the many levels Conrad addressed in his story. I thought the
endless paradoxes in the book, once brought to light, were actually very interesting. My favorite
section, however, was the poetry unit. I really enjoyed the poem ?The Blues? by Billy Collins the
most because of my respect for music. I think Collins really makes a point in his poem about just
how important music is and how it allows people who are very different to connect on many
levels. I also loved ?Love Calls Us to the Things of This World? by Richard Wilbur. The imagery
in this poem was absolutely amazing, and I adored how he made the ordinary things seem mystical
with his words. I loved how the laundry became angels. If only we could look at the world from
that point of view more often, it would be a much happier place.
The criticisms in college have even been somewhat enjoyable and interesting to read. I think I
began to like the stories and poems we read in class more and more as we discussed them and
looked at different authorities? opinions. I found a lot of the information in the databases very
useful. For the Antigone research project, the JSTORS database gave me hundreds of articles
dealing with my topic. I could narrow down what I was looking for and find numerous

Reflective Essay About Reading
Reading is important in all aspects of learning. It widens vocabulary, improves imagination, and
is how we discover new things. More than anything, reading develops the mind. It is important to
begin reading with children at a very young age, to introduce new concepts and words creating a
strong basis for the future. Most small children love being read to; they find picture books fun
and enjoyable because of the animated pictures and presentation of the words. After each time
they read a book, they remember the fun pictures or words, looking forward to the next book. If a
good memory of reading is planted in a child, as they grow older not only will reading come more
naturally, it will bring more pleasure. I believe the key to successfully getting a student to read is to
make it as enjoyable as possible. In reading this article, I was able to relate on a few different
levels. I could put myself in the teacher's shoes on some levels, but even more so with the
students. In Middle School, one of our reading assignments were reading cards, for which our
teacher would pick a new genre each month and we had to read chapter books according to the
genre. Reading cards were a tool the students would use to summarize their readings each time
they read. The reading cards consisted of a chapter book the teacher chose, each month a different
genre. After each section we read, a short summary was to be written and we had to write down and
look up any words we didn't know. This was

Reflective Sociology Essay
The last six weeks have challenged my preconceived ideas about sociology and the role that it plays
in society in the popular and social media, my values, behaviours and belief system. What I hope to
highlight throughout this reflective essay is what I have learnt and how that has shaped my new
thought process and reinforced old thought patterns. Week one I learnt about the Sociological
imagination where to quote C Wright "The sociological imagination enables us to grasp the
connection between history and biography." (Henslin et al., 2011). Upon further reflection of the
reading material in Sociology a down to earth approach there was one particular story that really
resonated with me. It was the illustration about expecting...show more content...
Week three see's the introduction of the fathers of sociology Auguste Comte, Herbert Spenser, Karl
Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Georg Simmel. Karl Marx and Durkheim are the two that
really resonate with me, Durkheim due to his theories around the subject of suicide and how that
subject is particularly personal with me and also Karl Marx theory around class inequality.
Karl Marx believed that man's basic needs were food and shelter and the evolution of these basic
needs led to capitalism, after the industrial revolution we see there being two distinct classes of
people the workers and the capitalist and the effect that this ultimately has on social aspect of
society. Marx looked at the unequal power struggle in this theory and how that conflict would lead to
socialism and eventually communism and it was then that he co–wrote with Englels in 1948 "The
Communist Manifesto". I can really see the same picture that Marx was looking at, even in today's
society in Australia we see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, but more evident in
third world countries where there are polar opposites in wealth and power.
This subject has actually spilled out into my conversation at different locations, talking at a bar with
a guy about the possibility that Jesus was a

Reflection Of My Teaching Experience
Teaching is not just a job that I perform because I expect a reward at the end of each month; it is
my passion and I feel extremely satisfied with every successful lesson. I like to help the society, and
teaching gives me a great opportunity to do so. I am passionate about educating my students, so I
work with them and motivate them to lead them to find inspiration in learning. I use different
strategies to engage them and share with them the knowledge.
As a teacher, I believe that I play a crucial role in the success of every learning process. To guarantee
that learning will take place, I make sure to create a learning environment that is relevant to the

The observation's reflection has already influenced the way I plan and teach. Reflecting on my work
helped me improve my teaching strategies and gain the ability to schedule plans that respond to the
students' needs. In my opinion, observation is one of the most successful strategies that are used in
the practicum course to support teachers. I believe that AUD has formed an enthusiastic teaching
and learning community.
I learned a tremendous amount of information and experiences since my enrollment in the ME
program. I learned to be flexible, remain open to continuous learning, and improve my career. I am
also learned about the importance of time and about the importance of education in our life. I give
the credit of all of that to the reflection strategy.
During my learning experience, I had the opportunity to re–skill myself and learn new strategies to
support my mission as a teacher. Recently, the Practicum course has helped me live an authentic

Assessment Reflection Essay examples
As I reflect on my past assessment process, I realized how much my assessments have changed
over the years. In my early years, I used tests for informational recall as my assessments. I felt
these were appropriate guidelines in which I needed to follow in order to substantiate a student's
grade. Every assignment or tests was given a point value and then based on the amount of points, a
grade was given. Every student's assessment was exactly the same, and the assessments did not
contain any subjectivity. I felt confident in giving the grade based on a valid point system. However
reflecting back, I see that I did not include any performance–based assessments or individual learning
styles in my early assessment. I also did not take...show more content...
Part of my assessment philosophy is to assess students on a daily basis which also includes their
reaction to my class. Students come to school with so much baggage that if you only chose one day
a week, or four or five times a marking period to assess them, chances are, they may be having a bad
day. Therefore, these students may not demonstrate their true ability if given only a few attempts
during the marking period. Assessment needs to be a continuous process throughout the marking
period. Everyday my students are given an opportunity to demonstrate their learning whether it is an
observation, a quick answer or a one–on–one discussion or a group project. My assessments are
consistent, flexible and achievable. I adhere to the deadlines that I give my students as part of my
assessment process. I want to infuse in my students that the world has deadlines, and you must be
prepared to meet them.
Assessment for many students means failure instead of demonstrating what you know. Too many
students walk away from a test, a science lab, or any other learning experience and feel as if they
have failed. Students should walk away from these experiences with a feeling of curiosity. If
assessments are correctly used, students would want to experiment more and take additional risks
knowing that the end result would be a feeling of achievement instead of failure. Assessments

Reflection Paper On Preceptorship Experience
Prior to beginning the nursing program the only patient contact that I had was in an outpatient
clinic setting and had often thought how great it would be to become a nurse. As my preceptor
clinical experience has come to an end, I can being to look back and reflect on my experiences not
just over these past few months, but from the beginning at Avalon Care Center my first exposure to
a long term care facility. Which at that time had made me question, if nursing is the right career

In addition, I have learned that patient safety is at the forefront of nursing and the ability to think
outside of the box. Before I had started the nursing program, if I was asked about patient safety
my first thoughts would be, what could I do to the prevent the patient from falling, since then I
have come to realize that patient safety encompasses so much more. At last my last clinical we had
care of the a gentleman who spoke no English, he would just look at us and smile, If it won't for the
use of the interpreter I can see how this patient care would have been affective.
Over the course of this preceptorship, I have written a few different journals with the nursing
process as my topic, the reason for this is because the nursing process is everywhere and has
become a part of my day to day life, not just during my different clinicals over these past couple of
years, it has spilled over into work, school work assignments, and home life, as well as. I now find
myself assessing everything that needs to accomplish throughout my day and developing a plan of
action, setting priorities to works towards their completion. Another topic that I feel is very
important for a nurse is professionalism and important in developing a trust with the patients in
your care, as well as, to earn the respect of your fellow nurses and other members of the hospital
staff. Over these past couple years and I have seen that many of the patients and their families look

  • 1. Reflective Practice Audit Essay Reflective Practice Audit Introduction Within this audit I am going to be talking about the methods of learning and how they can be assessed. I will be showing the skills and experiences of which I have, how they have been developed and a SWOT analysis to evaluate myself. Then I will have expanded on the findings of my skills and experiences, with the final point that I will then be constructing a table showing my short and long–term targets to develop skills and learning styles. Then I will have a final inclusion of my bibliography and references by using the Harvard referencing style. Methods From my research I have found out that there are four main learning styles of which I have explained below: –...show more content... Of which I agree with because I prefer to watch when learning, as well as being involving practically which I like better, but I would say that I don't like listening because it always feel that I want to disagree with everything, as I want to visualise what is occurring. By performing the lassi questionnaire I have found out that my areas of weakness are attitude /interest, motivation, anxiety, use of support techniques/materials and test strategies/preparation for exams. Results To show the results of my skills I have produced a table of skills that I possess, and experiences that assist my learning: – My SWOT Analysis (Related to the past 5 years) Strengths Weaknesses I have an AVCE in Business, A Level in Accounting, A in GCSE ICT, and A* – C in Maths, English Language/Literature as well as another 7

With this assignment, I was encouraged to explore beyond my comfort zone, and as a result I located a job I may actually consider applying too. While the position in sales is a bit out of my reach currently, the only obstacle is the distance as the company is located in Texas. While I was establishing a resume and cover letter tailored to this job add, I found myself trying to write in a more professional way to create a document I would be proud to have over to an employer. • 4. Reflective Essay On Interview Experience During the interview I learned various things about how a person who once was dreaming of a career worked hard to make that dream closer and closer to reality. I always thought about jobs as boring, stressful, and tiring ways to make money to sustain one's life. But from this interview experience I have learned that it isn't always and doesn't have to be that way. It is important for someone to pick a job they want to do, and if they don't like it, that's okay as long as they are willing to obtain that burning determination and motivation to study and develop different variety of newly introduced skills to accomplish what they want to do for a living. I realized that working in a job that you don't enjoy doing isn't necessarily bad. Different jobs require different skills and knowledge in different fields/areas. A person who switched jobs multiple times (not because they got fired) has a higher possibility of having more skills and experiences on different types of work, which causes the gap between the doors of opportunity to widen, enabling that person to choose from a wide variety of different job options that they want to do and be content with. From a student's' point of view, just the thought of getting into a job that you dream of seems difficult and challenging. When we look at what we want to do when we grow up, we see a long road ahead of us with constant obstacles of traffic jam (you have to compete with different people who are closer to the destination than you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Reflective Essay On Self Esteem Self–acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation, social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also unintentionally encouraged self–judgment. Be that as it may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a speaker's presentation as she showed us how to recognize our self–worth. Confidence and self–esteem are hard to acquire for some, but it should not be a quantity you divest yourself of. Self–acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to pursue a life full of love and jubilance. During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers. They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on the right side of the school while the boys stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations concretely for each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman, we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how to be a lady. Towards the end of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the room, there was this resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for positivity before she even commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too had struggled with accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters with bullying and how it had impacted her self–esteem even though she appeared so vigorous and confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of weakness, yet she too had relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Examples Of Senior Reflective Essay Senior Reflective Essay Some people say that you cannot change what you refuse to confront. Growing up in Compton it was hard because every action you did had a great consequence. My parents were one of the authorities that set down a path without violence and away from drugs. One of the greatest successes that I experienced in my past was having carried over my community service from where I lived to where I am now. Carrying over my community service experience has made it better for me to be around those who I can connect with and have fun helping others. The greatest failure that I've experienced was the choice of friends that I had. With the majority of my "friends" that I had, almost all were under bad influences. That made it harder for me to fit in with kids who I resemble that make me...show more content... Two significant people that made an impact for me are my parents because they have always worked hard to give us everything we need. If it wouldn't have been for my parents guiding me to be better than others I might have Joined a gang or been under bad influences. There are two significant events that really impacted me one was a tragic event that happened to my neighbor /friends, who lost their mother after she died for reasons that I was too young to remember. After watching them live their lives without mothers I couldn't imagine how hard it was for them. The Second event is a shooting that happened at home while we were gone and my brother wasn't with us, my family and I were terrified until my mother received a call from my aunt who lived nearby, who had my brother for several hours. After, that moment my family had begun to feel relieved and learned to not let any moment we spend together be worthless. If there would be one thing that I would change from my past it would be surrounding myself from kids who instead of helping each other rise, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Reflective essay -Counselling session Introduction. In this reflective essay I will provide an analysis of the counselling session I conducted and recorded. This will include a summary of the session. I will also describe the micro and advanced counselling skills utalised, as well as a critical evaluation of their effectiveness. A discussion of my application of these skills, as well as areas of possible improvement will supported by reference to relevant literature. Summary of the session. Leesa is a 37–year–old woman who I have seen around four months previously. At the previous session Leesa spoke of her frustrations at work and of her hopes of securing a promotion. Leesa's presentation was one of lethargy consistent with someone who was suffering feelings of...show more content... It also conveyed that I was empathetic towards her situation. Geldard and Geldard (2009) explain that minimal responses not only convey that the counselor is listening, they can also be used to convey a message, such as surprise, agreement or even to challenge what has been said. The meaning of these minimal responses is also influenced greatly upon the delivery of them. Tone of voice, facial expression, posture and eye movement all help to determine the way in which these messages are received. An example of a minimal response I made that conveyed empathy would have been; when the client was describing her feelings of not being respected in her workplace and I responded by saying: "sounds horrible". This short response did not interrupt the flow of conversation, and encouraged the client to continue. My tone of voice and facial expressions were also congruent with someone who empathized and was interested in what was being said. Reflective Listening. Summarising, paraphrasing and reflection of feelings are all examples of counselling micro–skills that let the client know that the counselor is listening and understanding them correctly. Although it is important to try to respond accurately it is not essential as an incorrect response can encourage the client to re–think what they have said and then clarify it, possibly resulting Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Reflective Essay On Professionalism Professionalism can be defined as "the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person."(Merriam–webster) My interpretation of this definition is that professionalism is a standard that we must hold ourselves accountable to in order to provide the best service. How do we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and applying professionalism? Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability, communication and reflective practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when "practitioners engage in a continuous cycle of self–observation and self evaluation in order to understand their own actions and the reactions they prompt in themselves" (becoming a better university teacher...). In the day–to–day life, everyone performs a type of reflection whether it is by unconscious thought or by habit. When it is unintentional it is hard to learn and grow from the knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to find a way to effectively incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation therapy students. There is a simple three–step framework for practical, structured reflection by Dr. Natius Oelofsen that really stood out to me. Reflective practice should not be complicated or time consuming or else it will not be done efficiently or effectively. We need reflective practice to become habit during our school years in order for it to be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Example Of Reflective Teaching Reflective teaching Reflective teaching has been one of the important tends in education since it helps teachers and leaners in problem solving and decision–making processes and it foster critical–thinking abilities. Study and learning of students comes from the different approaches, strategies and even methods and principles. Learning is said to be the change in the behavior of a student or a learner. Reflective practice is not just understanding of what is to be understood, reflection involves thinking about and critical analyzing our action's and experiences. It help us in improving or learning and understanding. Reflective teaching is largely based on shon's reflection–in–action and reflection–on–action model. John Dewey who is often considered to be the originator of the concept of reflection defines reflective practice as an 'active persistent, and careful consideration of any belief or supposed form of knowledge in the light of the grounds that support in, and the further conclusions to which it tends...'(1993, p. 6). • 10. Reflection Paper About English Composition English Composition I has developed my style of writing and my skills analyzing and researching topics to write a piece about a topic. Throughout the course, I got better at analyzing articles and pieces to get the meaning of the topic. With that improved skill I was more able to use the information given from the text and install it into my essays, with proper citation if needed. Before taking the English Composition course, I was not one to organize my essays in an ordeal order to clearly state the point of the work. Now with taking the course, I have learned to organize my essays, examine research for a topic, and develop an essay with proper mechanics, and revising skills. In writing my personal, review, analytical, and cultural...show more content... I then described my life and who I was. After describing this, I explained my experiences in confronting racism. The point of the essay was to state that racism is still alive and can be present anywhere. After writing this essay, I learned that my mechanics and style was not where it should be. Even with the revisions Mr. Heldenfels made in the draft, I still made mistakes with mechanics and tense shits. I had written comma splice and has several spelling mistakes. I looked to improve my mechanics after writing this essay. With writing my review essay of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's album The Bigger Artist. The essay took some time to write because of the research I needed to gather. In this essay I used more citations and quotes. I made mistakes the mechanics in writing the quotes. This was the first essay in which we used sources, so it was challenging to create my own ideas but I was able to do it. Writing this essay improved my knowledge of mechanics in citations and quotations. Through taking the course, I learned to utilizes sources in a more efficient way. In writing my analytical essay of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly I had to use ten sources. All the sources I used provided different information, some provided more than others, but all sources were needed to complete the essay. In collecting all the information for the essay, I had to research who created the source and decide if it was credible. • 11. Examples Of Academic Reflection During the whole process of designing the IMC plan for HP Sprocket in this semester, I have earned valuable experience about teamwork, and I have learned lessons not only from class, but also from the whole working process. First of all, I have to admit that this group is one of the best groups I've ever had, I used to think that only failed experience helps people learn and grow. However, this time in a well–organised group, I found that I was wrong, positive experience contributes as well. This essay will reflect what I have learned, and it will be mainly divided into two parts: academic reflection and experiential reflection. Academic Reflection In an IMC plan, separate segment needs to cooperate with each other through organisational communications in order to ensure that audiences can receive a same key message from different channels (Ots and Nyilasy 2015, 134–135). Personally, I feel it is perfectly understandable as a first–time IMC practitioner. In this group work, because we do not have much time to discuss the "Big Idea" at the very beginning, we decided to divide the work first and then combine them together to find out the "Big Idea". However, I found that I cannot come up with useful strategies without effectively communicating with my teammates about our goal for this plan. After we have finished our first draft and uploaded it to Google Drive, we all agreed that this is a weak plan, because the messages we try to deliver in each piece do not have much in common. As Percy (2013, 2–3) pointed out, both the key and the goal of IMC planning are "to deliver a consistent message". This made me think we might be wrong at the aiming stage. In this scenario, assigning work without figuring out the requirement of an IMC plan is the problem of our group, and I need to learn that figuring out the main requirements and setting a clear goal are essential steps for innovative projects like an IMC plan. Because they can improve both individual's task performance and group's working efficiency (Hoegl and Parboteeah 2003, 4). There may have certain groups that can perform well without cooperating tightly, like a calculation group, but IMC group is definitely not one of them. Which reminds me that in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Example Of Reflection In Literature In the span of this course, I have learned a great deal about myself in terms of literature. This course has enabled me to make many great strides in my writing by exemplifying the works of authors and their literary devices. English 1102 has broadened my literary horizon by showing me more elegant ways to express my opinion. I am remorseful towards the fact that I did not take the class in person. Inversely, I have learned better ways to communicate towards the audience, through the use of various literary elements in lieu of going on tangents. In regards to taking English 1102, I feel as though I am on the precipitous of progress through the use of parallel structure and diction as a way of getting my point across, as well as using poetic styles from famous authors such as Charlotte Gilman to better express my thoughts and ideas. On the other hand, not being able to take the class in person has disabled me in a sense of not being able to garner a better sense of grammar and punctuation. Furthermore, through the assignments that I have completed, I have mastered the use of consistency which spurred on a more fluid line of communication with the readers through the use of efficiently utilizing parallel structure and diction, instead of jumping from topic to topic. The need to spew all perspectives originates from my predisposition of compacting conflicting opinions on one paper. Notably, employing parallel structure has brightened up my writing tremendously. For example, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Reflective Essay On English 101 Proficient writing is an essential skill in all aspects of academic and professional achievement. English 101, Introduction to Composition and Rhetoric, provided the framework to good writing, teaching me composition and rhetoric fundamentals, polishing up my grammar and style, and expressing a clear message. English 102, Composition, Rhetoric, and Research, continued to build on the skills I learned in English 101, focusing on the subject matter research process and employing various rhetorical and literary devices to better express a clear message to the reader. The course also improved my critical thinking capacity, allowing me to culturally evaluate my target audience, present logically flowing arguments using appropriate language and structure, and critically reviewing my writing projects for content and expression. Every writer inherently knows there's always room to improve and I hold fast to this mindset in all academic, professional, and personal writing projects. English 102 has both challenged and inspired me to grow into a much better writer than before I began the class, providing the necessary skills to be not just a good writer, but a great writer. Most of my English 102 writing projects are rhetorical arguments, intended to persuade the reader in one direction or another. Reflecting on the many skills I honed in English 102, my predetermined use of rhetorical strategies (ethos, logos, pathos), developing a concise thesis statement, and clearly defining Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflective Essay on College Writing Reflective Essay on College Writing This semester was my very first semester as a college student. Being the first, it was probably the semester I would learn the most in. I learned the expectations for writing that I will have to live up to for the next four years of my college career. Though my high school teachers were usually demanding because I was in the Honors English section throughout high school, writing in college has still ?raised the bar? for me. Also, in high school, we would have weeks to pick a topic, create a thesis, outline the paper, write the paper, and then revise the paper. In college, the timerestraints are not quite as lenient. I?ve had to learn to manage my time and be more productive with what free moments I...show more content... I definitely learned a great deal from our discussions about this book. I really did not like it at all until the class sat down and analyzed the many levels Conrad addressed in his story. I thought the endless paradoxes in the book, once brought to light, were actually very interesting. My favorite section, however, was the poetry unit. I really enjoyed the poem ?The Blues? by Billy Collins the most because of my respect for music. I think Collins really makes a point in his poem about just how important music is and how it allows people who are very different to connect on many levels. I also loved ?Love Calls Us to the Things of This World? by Richard Wilbur. The imagery in this poem was absolutely amazing, and I adored how he made the ordinary things seem mystical with his words. I loved how the laundry became angels. If only we could look at the world from that point of view more often, it would be a much happier place. The criticisms in college have even been somewhat enjoyable and interesting to read. I think I began to like the stories and poems we read in class more and more as we discussed them and looked at different authorities? opinions. I found a lot of the information in the databases very useful. For the Antigone research project, the JSTORS database gave me hundreds of articles dealing with my topic. I could narrow down what I was looking for and find numerous Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Reflective Essay About Reading Reading is important in all aspects of learning. It widens vocabulary, improves imagination, and is how we discover new things. More than anything, reading develops the mind. It is important to begin reading with children at a very young age, to introduce new concepts and words creating a strong basis for the future. Most small children love being read to; they find picture books fun and enjoyable because of the animated pictures and presentation of the words. After each time they read a book, they remember the fun pictures or words, looking forward to the next book. If a good memory of reading is planted in a child, as they grow older not only will reading come more naturally, it will bring more pleasure. I believe the key to successfully getting a student to read is to make it as enjoyable as possible. In reading this article, I was able to relate on a few different levels. I could put myself in the teacher's shoes on some levels, but even more so with the students. In Middle School, one of our reading assignments were reading cards, for which our teacher would pick a new genre each month and we had to read chapter books according to the genre. Reading cards were a tool the students would use to summarize their readings each time they read. The reading cards consisted of a chapter book the teacher chose, each month a different genre. After each section we read, a short summary was to be written and we had to write down and look up any words we didn't know. This was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Reflective Sociology Essay The last six weeks have challenged my preconceived ideas about sociology and the role that it plays in society in the popular and social media, my values, behaviours and belief system. What I hope to highlight throughout this reflective essay is what I have learnt and how that has shaped my new thought process and reinforced old thought patterns. Week one I learnt about the Sociological imagination where to quote C Wright "The sociological imagination enables us to grasp the connection between history and biography." (Henslin et al., 2011). Upon further reflection of the reading material in Sociology a down to earth approach there was one particular story that really resonated with me. It was the illustration about expecting...show more content... Week three see's the introduction of the fathers of sociology Auguste Comte, Herbert Spenser, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Georg Simmel. Karl Marx and Durkheim are the two that really resonate with me, Durkheim due to his theories around the subject of suicide and how that subject is particularly personal with me and also Karl Marx theory around class inequality. Karl Marx believed that man's basic needs were food and shelter and the evolution of these basic needs led to capitalism, after the industrial revolution we see there being two distinct classes of people the workers and the capitalist and the effect that this ultimately has on social aspect of society. Marx looked at the unequal power struggle in this theory and how that conflict would lead to socialism and eventually communism and it was then that he co–wrote with Englels in 1948 "The Communist Manifesto". I can really see the same picture that Marx was looking at, even in today's society in Australia we see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, but more evident in third world countries where there are polar opposites in wealth and power. This subject has actually spilled out into my conversation at different locations, talking at a bar with a guy about the possibility that Jesus was a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I believe that AUD has formed an enthusiastic teaching and learning community. I learned a tremendous amount of information and experiences since my enrollment in the ME program. I learned to be flexible, remain open to continuous learning, and improve my career. I am also learned about the importance of time and about the importance of education in our life. I give the credit of all of that to the reflection strategy. During my learning experience, I had the opportunity to re–skill myself and learn new strategies to support my mission as a teacher. Recently, the Practicum course has helped me live an authentic experience by transferring my learning and understanding into reality. • 19. Assessment Reflection Essay examples As I reflect on my past assessment process, I realized how much my assessments have changed over the years. In my early years, I used tests for informational recall as my assessments. I felt these were appropriate guidelines in which I needed to follow in order to substantiate a student's grade. Every assignment or tests was given a point value and then based on the amount of points, a grade was given. Every student's assessment was exactly the same, and the assessments did not contain any subjectivity. I felt confident in giving the grade based on a valid point system. However reflecting back, I see that I did not include any performance–based assessments or individual learning styles in my early assessment. I also did not take...show more content... Part of my assessment philosophy is to assess students on a daily basis which also includes their reaction to my class. Students come to school with so much baggage that if you only chose one day a week, or four or five times a marking period to assess them, chances are, they may be having a bad day. Therefore, these students may not demonstrate their true ability if given only a few attempts during the marking period. Assessment needs to be a continuous process throughout the marking period. Everyday my students are given an opportunity to demonstrate their learning whether it is an observation, a quick answer or a one–on–one discussion or a group project. My assessments are consistent, flexible and achievable. I adhere to the deadlines that I give my students as part of my assessment process. I want to infuse in my students that the world has deadlines, and you must be prepared to meet them. Assessment for many students means failure instead of demonstrating what you know. Too many students walk away from a test, a science lab, or any other learning experience and feel as if they have failed. Students should walk away from these experiences with a feeling of curiosity. If assessments are correctly used, students would want to experiment more and take additional risks knowing that the end result would be a feeling of achievement instead of failure. • 20. Reflection Paper On Preceptorship Experience Prior to beginning the nursing program the only patient contact that I had was in an outpatient clinic setting and had often thought how great it would be to become a nurse. As my preceptor clinical experience has come to an end, I can being to look back and reflect on my experiences not just over these past few months, but from the beginning at Avalon Care Center my first exposure to a long term care facility. Which at that time had made me question, if nursing is the right career path for me? Since then, I have had many wonderful experiences from being able to watch an open heart surgery for a valve replacement and a total neck resection for throat cancer with, jaw reconstruction with the use of the patient fibula. Still to this day, I...show more content... In addition, I have learned that patient safety is at the forefront of nursing and the ability to think outside of the box. Before I had started the nursing program, if I was asked about patient safety my first thoughts would be, what could I do to the prevent the patient from falling, since then I have come to realize that patient safety encompasses so much more. At last my last clinical we had care of the a gentleman who spoke no English, he would just look at us and smile, If it won't for the use of the interpreter I can see how this patient care would have been affective. Over the course of this preceptorship, I have written a few different journals with the nursing process as my topic, the reason for this is because the nursing process is everywhere and has become a part of my day to day life, not just during my different clinicals over these past couple of years, it has spilled over into work, school work assignments, and home life, as well as. I now find myself assessing everything that needs to accomplish throughout my day and developing a plan of action, setting priorities to works towards their completion. Another topic that I feel is very important for a nurse is professionalism and important in developing a trust with the patients in your care, as well as, to earn the respect of your fellow nurses and other members of the hospital staff. Over these past couple years and I have seen that many of the patients and their families look to their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Reflective Essay Sample Hi, I am Jan Anglade. Currently, I work as an ESOL/ELA teacher at the DeKalb International Student Center in DeKalb County. I have been working in the same school since I moved to Georgia from my native country of Puerto Rico in 2006. 100% of the students in my school are ESOL students new to the country, as well as SLIFE (Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education). In my classroom there could be a 13–year–old student from Guatemala with 5 years of schooling sitting next to a 17–year–old student from Tanzania with no formal schooling. Because of my interactions with the students, I am very interested in researching and contributing to the ESOL sub–field of SLIFEs. I teach because I enjoy helping others.
