5. Community Involvement
Superintendent Steven Lawrence gave of
himself as part of C.A.R.E. Haiti and
Providence Haitian Project (July, 1986 –
June, 1987) Director, Orphanage of the
Immaculate Conception, Port-Au-Prince,
Haiti (July 1985 – June, 1986)
Co-directed an orphanage with twenty-five
boys ranging in ages of 5-18 years old.
Spearheaded opening a neighborhood school
when all schools were closed because of
political upheaval.
