Analysis Of Weak Shall Inherit The Gym By Rick Reilly
Dodgeball helps teach students around the world that it is OK to lose at a game every now and then, it happens to everyone. Rick Reilly, the author
of the article Weak Shall Inherit the Gym stated that "Then those kids' parents will send them out into the world to realise that, Yes there are winners
and losers." Bringing this statement into the argument helps show that if adults do not show those noncompetitive children that it is possible to lose,
they will not act like an adult when they do lose they will never learn. Kids just have to learn to deal with it and learn from their mistakes so they
will not lose next time. Children have to deal with losing like a Mature adult or they will have a rough life later on.
Dodgeball is just the start of the Physical activity war. The Physical Education Directors start with getting rid of Dodgeball then they will slowly
make students start to walking in circles for an hour then going back to class! Like Reilly says in his article Weak Shall Inherit the Gym "Human
targets? What's tag? What's a snowball fight? What's a close play at second?" Dodgeball is just one of many "human ... Show more content on

In Weak Shall Inherit the Gym Reilly helps this statement by saying "All of a sudden 120 lbs Joe was hit with a ball, and when he turned to see
who it was that threw it, he saw little 83 lb Melvin, who was mostly smile." This just shows that even the weakest and smallest children on that gym
floor can have their confidence boosted with just one throw of a ball. The bigger kids had to get up top somehow right? Smaller kids just have to try
harder and they could be like the "bigger kids". Children may even start to think that if they get the wins from games handed to them the easy way, that
everything will be given to them the easy way. Even when they grow they will try the easy way of winning and getting what they want in

Bill O Reilly Analysis
by Bill O'ReillyIs there anyone on the planet who doesn't have at least some idea of who Bill O'Reilly is? He is best known as the host of Fox News
Channel's top–rated program, The O'Reilly Factor, he is also the number one best–selling author of a book by the same name. Its not a news program in
the sense that it doesn't report news but instead has the capacity, more oftenthan not, to make news. There is kind of a train–wreck fascination to
observing O'Reilly work and it shines through, in spots, in THE NO SPIN ZONE.O'Reilly is capable of asking just about anything, a tactic that has
earned him the reputationof being rude. O'Reilly's questions, though, are his reason for being. They are not rude questions;... Show more content on

Also that, while he would not outlaw abortion, he considers it aghastly procedure that should be restricted and views it as a human rights issue. All
of these positions raise the ire of conservatives and liberals alike, though not at the same time and not about the same reason. However, it is not
unusual, to find yourself wanting to kissthe screen one moment and put your foot through it the next, no matter what your political persuasion may

O'Reilly and a guest, followed by some extended written comments quoted by O'Reilly; an edited transcript of the exchanges between O'Reilly and
his guest du jour; and some additional editorial comments by O'Reilly.O'Reilly made his bones by pushing hard questions to people as diverse as

Rick Reilly Satire
In Rick Reilly's Fair Game, the author makes heavy use of satire to ridicule the amount of expensive gear many hunters use in the pursuit of their prey,
and in turn encourage hunters to try and make do with the essentials. The article could be classified as juvenalian satire, as he paints a picture of a
hunter that spends an obscene amount of money on random hunting supplies who nonetheless still considers himself superior to other hunters for his
"barebones" approach. Reilly does this in several ways throughout the piece, using parody, understatement, and bathos in separate instances. The hunter
in this article is a parody, though he does not represent any one person. Instead, he is the stereotypical wealthy hunter who turns the activity ... Show

In paragraph 10, the hunter claims "It's a battle of wits, I tell you," but immediately following that statement he admits that his camouflage coat and
hood makes him resemble "Cousin Itt from The Addams Family," who is a short character entirely covered in long hair. In paragraph 13, the hunter
says "Hunting is not about ease, comfort, or tilting the scales to satisfy a hunter's thirst for a trophy." He then goes on a short tirade against the "awful"
100 acre fenced–in hunting grounds that some hunters go on guided tours in. However, he more or less contradicts this anger in the very next
paragraph when he says he prefers to hunt on 500 fenced–in acres. To top it off, he adds that he "could be out there for more than an hour before I bag
my kill," as if that's a major accomplishment. These sudden lapses into absurdity serve Reilly's purpose because they undermine the achievements of
the hunter, and by extension the achievements of real–life hunters that make use of so much gear. As Reilly implies that a trophy won using the many
extraneous purchases of the narrating hunter isn't worth taking seriously, then he may convince people who read his article to forgo some of these
items. Interestingly, this serves an appeal to the audience's own credibility, because they are forced to consider whether or not their own achievements
are valid by Reilly's

Examples Of Tension In Spider Man
Term 1 drama There are many examples of relationship tension in the film spider man. I am going to state some of these starting with the first
example which is in the first couple of scenes when Peter Parker is chasing the bus and everyone inside of it is laughing at him including the bus
driver. This scene shows task tension because it shows that peter is trying to catch the bus and if he doesn't make it, the outcome will be that he will
miss the excursion, this is relationship tension because Peter has something to do, an amount of time to do it and if he doesn't complete the task there
will be consequences. This scene also shows relationship tension because everyone in the bus is laughing at peter showing he is not liked by others
and even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the first is when Peter is unknown of a spider coming down above him and he is enjoying his time with Mary Jane. The spider comes down
and peter still does not know this. This is mystery tension and this changes into surprise tension because the spider snaps at Peter which was
unexpected to the viewers. It starts with mystery tension because threatening things are happening to peter and he does not know and it is surprize
tension because we did not expect the spider to lash out at peter. In this scene the mystery and surprise is also emphasised through the music used.
Another example Of tension of mystery is when They are on the excursion looking at the spider, Mary Jane says there is only fourteen spiders when
the woman said that there should be fifteen. This is tension of mystery because people are left wondering where this spider is, that it could be
anywhere. Another example of tension of mystery and surprise is when Dr Osborne is testing the formula and nobody knows what the outcome is
going to be and that is why it is tension of mystery. This converts to tension of surprize because dr Osborne unexpectedly grabs Norman, throwing him
and killing him and this is tension of surprize because we didn't expect it to

Comparing Odysseus and Spiderman
Heroes in Action: Odysseus & Spiderman The late actor, Christopher Reeve, once stated, "A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to
persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." In the epic, Odyssey, by Homer and the film, Spiderman, directed by Sam Raimi, the crux
of the storyline relates to a hero and the challenges they face along the way. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is the main character. The epic tale outlines his
travels as he attempts to travel back to his home against the will of some gods. In Spiderman, Peter Parker is the main character. He undergoes a
transformation from a human to spider–like characteristics and abilities. Peter Parker devotes his life to saving others who are in need. Although ...

Peter Parker's mentor is his Uncle Ben. Peter is always remembering little things that his uncle has told him in the past years when he was alive,
such as "with great power comes great responsibility." The difference in the two characters' mentors is that Odysseus has an actual mentor that he
can see and listen to in person and Peter's mentor is someone that he can only faintly remember and recall the things he said in the past. Along
with Odysseus's and Spiderman's mentors, they also have allies. Odysseus's allies are the Phaecians. After Odysseus's ship is destroyed, he swims
to the island Scheria, home of the Phaecians, and is warmly welcomed, fed, given gifts, and set off in a great ship to his home, Ithaca. Spiderman's
allies are the citizens of Queens, New York who believe in him as being a hero and not a villain. The resemblance in the two characters is that their
allies are not just one person in particular but a group of people. By the end of the heroes' journey, Odysseus and Peter go through tests, temptations,
and the development of enemies. Odysseus is tested in controlling his men and getting them to do the right thing as well as of himself and his
boastfulness. He is also tested on overcoming his fears when needing to enter the underworld. Additionally, Spiderman is scrutinized on saving people
and building his name as the city's hero. These two characters are related in the fact that they

The People Of Dune By Robert O ' Reilly
The people of Dune are lead by the hope that someone stronger than them will take on their challenges. The planet has begun its ecological
transformation when it comes into the possession of Duke Leto Atreides. Paul Atreides, the son of the Duke, will become the leader of the Fremen.
"The story tells of the Lisan al–Gaib, 'the voice from the outer world,' which will share the dreams of the Fremen and lead them to fulfillment"
(O'Reilly). There is a legend among the Fremen that a savior will ensure the success of the transformation. It becomes a rumor that Paul is that
messiah because he intuitively knows how to perform Fremen tasks, such as properly wearing a stillsuit. Then, Paul 's mother makes it known that the
Atreides will support the transformation, adding to the belief that Paul is their messiah. "Their strong, unconscious projection makes him even more
special than he is" (O 'Reilly). Indeed, the Fremen want to believe that there is someone who can help them, someone who is capable of doing what
they are unable to accomplish. "It was a story about [...] an outsider who went native and used religious fervor to fuel his own ambitions––in this case,
to transform the ecology of the planet" (O 'Reilly). Then, Paul joins the Fremen in the desert, which intensifies the Fremen belief in him. Paul is an
important figure for the Fremen, but not only the them. He is also essential to the sisterhood of the Bene Gesserit. The Bene Gesserit is made up of

Kevin Reilly Salvation Religions Analysis
In this chapter, Kevin Reilly concentrates on understanding why the structure of family and the standing of elders is the way it is in modern society.
He construes "we live in a world shaped largely by these ancient salvation religions. If, as a result the ancestors, the elders, and the family are no
longer honored." Salvation can be described as an objective to escape from the world (Reilly,95). Essentially, salvation when associated withreligion, is
saving of the soul from the worldly sins and consequences; some of the earliest and most influential salvation religions were Christianity and Buddhism.
Before the introduction of salvation religions, the earliest human societies gave prominence to the elderly; their experience and memories often

Rhetorical Analysis Of Nothing But Nets By Rick Reilly
Mosquito nets are being sought out for as many families are dying of malaria in Africa. Rick Reilly exclaims in his article "Nothing But Nets" that the
need for mosquito nets is dire. Reilly begins with statistics and facts of the situation, employs emotional appeal, and uses big sports stars and
businesses to show how important and easy it is to donate towards mosquito nets.
Throughout most of the article, Reilly uses the appeal of logic through facts and statistics to build his argument. In the fourth paragraph of "Nothing
But Nets," Reilly introduces the audience to the number 3,000, as in "3,000 kids die every day in Africa from malaria," as well as the percentage of 60 in
which the disease can be reduced by with the mosquito nets. By using these numbers he exclaims the fact that 3,000 dead is just like a 9/11 every day

In paragraph five, Reilly creates a situation in which there is a youth soccer tournament all over a town and out of nowhere these children
experience the symptoms of malaria and die within ten days. This imagery tugs at parents' heartstrings, since this could be their own children. With
this situation, Reilly evokes the feeling of losing a family member and uses it to his advantage to show the readers that it is necessary to spend
money on the mosquito nets to save people from dying. Along with this situation, in the second to last paragraph, Reilly provides one of his own
experiences. Reilly shares with the audience that in a trip to Tanzania he and his family played soccer with children who lived there. Later he sent
them soccer balls and nets for them to enjoy, but regrets sending them the wrong thing as he knows that Tanzania is full of malaria–stricken families
(Reilly). In that example, Reilly is able to show the need for malaria nets as the reader begins to feel his own

Similarities Between The Glass Castle And The Life Of Reilly
In both The Glass Castle and "The Life of Reilly", both the authors got to know their dads and why they did the things they did, and both learned to
forgive them and respect them as parents, despite their damaging choices, and in My Papa's Waltz, despite the possible abuse in the poem, the child
still clutches at their father before bed; this shows that children, despite abuse and neglect will always have the propensity to have some kind of loyalty
to their parents.
Firstly, in My Papa's Waltz, the child in the poem is "dancing" with their father, but with lines like "you beat time on my head" (Roethke 13) and
"such waltzing was not easy" it brings into question whether or not the poem is really about a dance. Assuming that the poem is creatively reframing
abuse, it shows the vulnerability of children, and their helplessness in the face of a failed parent. Despite having just been beaten by his dad, the boy
in the poem is "still clinging to your shirt" the pronoun, of course, referring to his father. In his own childish way, the boy is still loyal to his father,
and still sees him as a parental figure, even though he's being activilt hurt by him, the boy seeks out his abuser for comfort. ... Show more content on

The O ' Reilly Factor Essay
Bill O' Reilly is the host of the critically acclaimed "The O'Reilly Factor". The O'Reilly Factor is a show that airs every weekday night at 7 P.M.
that mainly focuses on covering political news. It airs on Fox News which is mainly a right wing, conservative network. O'Reilly, himself is a
conservative and is known for bashing President Obama on the way he leads our country. He has been on air for over 30 years and has even won
an Emmy for "The O'Reilly Factor". Killing Lincoln is a timeline leading up to the assassination of President Lincoln on April 15, 1865. The main
purpose this book was written was to show the reader the events of Lincoln's assassination in chronological order so that the reader could get a
better understanding of what actually took place when he was assassinated. Because the book was written in chronological order, it is very easy to
follow along the timeline of events. President Lincoln's assassination was a monumental event in our country's history that deserved to have a well
written book documenting every single detail. O'Reilly did a tremendous job documenting these events for the reader to analyze and comprehend. Part
one of Killing Lincoln begins on the battlefield. President Lincoln actually enjoyed being close to the action. He would travel to places like Virginia
to watch some of the battles from a distance. The civil war was fought very differently than wars are fought today. Soldiers marched in lines and fought

Spider-Man
Nearly all heroes are faced with a variety of inconceivable tasks which in turn help to overcome obstacles that the character may face. In Spider–Man,
Peter Parker is forced to overcome these impediments so that he can help protect the people in his city. The task that first illustrates this quest is
Spider–Man's revenge on the man who killed his uncle and committed robbery. To catch this criminal, though, Spider–Man has to learn how to use his
mind: thinking quickly and on–the–spot. Not only does it take courage for Spider–Man to defeat this criminal, it takes quick reflexes that only his
"spidey senses" can offer him. In the end, Spider–Man tricks the man and is successful in turning him into the police. Another example of a ... Show

Being the hero that he is, Spider–Man decides to save both the children and Mary–Jane. A large battle between Spider–Man and the Green Goblin
ensues, with the Green Goblin's eventual death, and Spider–Man's massive injuries being the result. Spider–Man finally defeats the enemy, in his final
ordeal, saving New York from cold–blooded villainy for a while. Therefore, by completing, undergoing, and overcoming extremely difficult tasks such
as battling with the enemy and saving the ones he loves, the film Spider–Man shows that it is part of the quest archetype.
Body paragraph 2:
A large part of any story, especially one with the quest archetype, is love. Since the first time he sees Mary–Jane at the age of six, Peter Parker
(Spider–Man) has loved her. At this time, Peter even asked his aunt: "Aunt May, Aunt May, is that an angel?" This truly displays how much
Spider–Man adores Mary–Jane. In fact, Peter will do anything to help her. For example, near the beginning of the film, Peter saves Mary–Jane from
slipping in the cafeteria. Because of his powerful love of Mary–Jane, Peter also faces consequences, though. His enemies, such as the Goblin Goblin,
can manipulate him using Mary–Jane as a bribe, or ransom.

Reilly uses some connotative diction, but mainly uses colloquial diction. Reilly uses colloquial verbs and words such as "mess," "huh?," and

about him like he's some object. When I read the article, I felt as if Reilly was having a direct conversation with me, and I think that's what he was
going for when piecing it together. He also uses this diction to connect the adversity he faces and the passion he has for the other things he loves to
do, such as building ramps for Easter Seals, or helping at an assisted living home. This really makes the reader connect on an emotional level to Ben
because he lives life on his own terms, and doesn't let himself get classified as just another kid with a disability, but as Ben Comen, a teen who is active

Rhetorical Analysis Of Wonder Woman By Maura Reilly
Just like many things in the United States, gender inequality has gotten a little out of hand. Gloria Steinem is a known feminist who grew up loving
Wonder Woman and feels like there should be more female heroes. Throughout her essay she explains her arguments by manipulating the rhetoric
situation and presenting solid claims. Gloria Steinem is not the only talented writer who is demanding to be heard. Maura Reilly gives insight to gender
inequality in another entertainment source.
To begin, Steinem manipulates the rhetoric situation to help her argument. "WonderWoman" first made her debut in comics in the 1940's, which was
when women's rights was first becoming a thing. Steinem realized that just like in the 40's, women and young girls ... Show more content on

Other than strategy, she uses this claim that has a harsh tone to intrigue her audience. With this claim she tried toamke the reader think about all the
comics they have read to try to fact check her statement in a sense. Another claim she makes is a judgement claim. She wants her reader to know the
importance of women's ability to be more than just being a great side kick. "A female child is left to believe that, even when her body is as big as her
spirit, she will still be helping with minor tasks, appreciating the accomplishments of others, and waiting to be rescued." (Steinem, 456). She, and
many other women in this day in age believe that women shouldn't always be the damsel in distress. Men are always taught to be the tough guy who
saves the day and gets the girl, but what are women being taught? The claim that she is trying to get her reader to see is that women can be more
independent in comic books and other entertainment sources. Steinem uses this claim to make her audience see comic books from a female
perspective. Another claim she uses to try to get her audience to understand her point of view, is a claim of value. She knows who her audience is, and

Killing Lincoln By Bill O ' Reilly
In the book, Killing Lincoln, author Bill O'Reilly portrayed John Wilkes Booth as an obsessed assassin who recruited various conspirators. He
described the events leading to President Lincoln's murder and the hunt to capture Booth and his cohorts. Killing Lincoln is comprehensible to
anyone as young as a middle schooler, although it would be best suited for an older reader with an interest in history and politics. Killing Lincoln
could also be appealing to those intrigued by conspiracy plots and criminal motives. O'Reilly constructed an action packed thriller of patriotism
and war to keep the reader engaged. As an admirer of Lincoln, O'Reilly shares similar conservative views in politics and religion. O'Reilly was a
New Yorker born and raised, who attended private schools and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in history at Marist College, a masters in

background in history, when researching this subject, O'Reilly discovered more controversy than expected, as there are many conspiracy theories
surrounding Lincoln's assassination. He revealed the layers of proven and alleged conspiracies for the reader. Today's ongoing debates of the facts

Step Brothers Movie Analysis
How many 40–year–old unemployed slackers do you know? Now imagine 2 of them under the same roof obnoxiously fighting about childish
things. Step Brothers from start to finish is exactly this displaying 2 outrageously comical actors in Will Ferrell and John C Reilly bickering back
and forth trying to learn how to cope with one another. The glory of this film comes from the constant one liners that make no sense but fit the film
perfectly, the childish behavior, and the elementary school comebacks mixed in with the adult language which adds a different but great comical
sense that few movies have been able to portray before. Such as when Ferrell refers to Reilly as a "Big, fat, curly–headed f***". This line had me
rolling on the floor due to the seriousness of Ferrell and the reaction of Reilly and the fact that it is a simple 3rd grade insult with an F–bomb thrown
in there that just makes it all that more funny. Although Talladega Nights and the Anchorman trilogy had better storylines none compare to the pure
comedy that Step Brothers provides. Step Brothers is Will Ferrell's most entertaining movie made to date, and is one that can be watched over and over

Analysis Of Bill O ' Reilly
The book is about a series of events starting from the American Civil War and lasting to the final days of John Wilkes Booth's plans to assassinate
President Abraham Lincoln at the Ford's Theatre. Author, Bill O'Reilly is attempting to correct the misleading assumptions and alleged conspiracies
that had taken place leading up to the events of Lincoln's assassination and explain in detail the scenarios and what a ruthless person Booth really was.
O'Reilly wrote the book to provide us the history of this war and how it changed after the death of Lincoln.
The American Civil Waris underway and Lincoln's army is determined to capture the city that escaped them for ten months. To end the four year war,
Ulysses S. Grant cons Robert E. Lee, Confederate general and his army into surrendering. During the 293 days of Grant's attack, Lee's army is holding
on, but Lee knows he does not have a chance since Grant has four times the soldiers and more cannons.
Grant hesitates to give command on troops marching across the Appomattox River on a cannon barrage that would kill hundreds. Instead of killing the
Confederates, he wants to capture them. Lee's men reach their destination on April 4th at the Amelia Court House after two consecutive days. While
General Grant and his men are on the move to cut off Lee, Lincoln is headed for Richmond to finally conquer what he always dreamed of, raising the
American flag high over Richmond.

I play mah–jongg with some friends uptown. Sometimes we go out to dinner. I read books and I go to museums and lectures. I don't even go to the
movies anymore" (Loc 2139) is what she says about herself. Towards the end of the book, she gets infuriated at Ceinwen for going behind her
back and searching for the lost film. Two of the most lovable characters are Jim and Talmadge, Ceinwen's roommates. They are both sassy,
hilarious, good at giving advice, and both homosexual. Talmadge is a short blonde who works at the same store Ceinwen works. He is a recovered
alcoholic who is not a subtle flirt. Jim is a skinny young man who manages a tiny costume jewelry store on the Upper East Side. Like Ceinwen, both
Jim and Talmadge smoke. They both encourage Ceinwen's love for classic films and they adore her fashion

Cultures Of The World: Mexico By Mary Jo Reilly
Cultures Of The World: Mexico
This book, "Cultures Of The World: Mexico", explains a lot about the history and culture in the country of Mexico. It's authors' names are Mary Jo
Reilly, Leslie Jermyn, and Michael Spilling. It is mostly about the traditions, culture, and just mostly how they live.
It starts out with telling us about the geography of Mexico. This includes information such as how Mexico is bordered with North America to the
north of Guatemala. It also informs you that Mexico is the 14th largest country in the world. It then goes into the description of the lands within the
Mexico area. For example, it tells how the Pacific Northwest is a very dry region. It then goes into how Mexico has volcanoes, plateaus, and just more
geographic information about the land around Mexico. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This chapter in this non–fictional book starts off telling about the first settlers in Mexico. They crossed the Bering Strait from Asia in search of food.
They also went about in many small groups, some going as far as the country of Chile. After that it tells you about the indians that lived there. Some
indians like the Olmec Indians, The Mayan Indians, and finally the Aztecs. They all formed Mexico into what it is today. Mexico's "discovery" was
much like ours here in North America. It is kind of like the Christopher Colombus story. A group of indians were there first and then settlers come and
invade. It goes on and on until the modern times. It explains about the wars, people who made Mexico what it is today and much, much

The Character Of Ignatius J. Reilly In A Confederacy Of...
In A Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Tool, Ignatius J. Reilly is trying to prove that he is smarter than society in New Orleans during the
1960's. He is forced to find work to pay off the debt that his mother fell into after crashing her car into a building. Ignatius has no shame in telling
people how he feels about them or their beliefs. His encounters while he is trying to find work bring out his true colors: lazy, complaining, and
paranoid. Throughout the book, Ignatius shows that he has no desire to put the good education that he has received into effect in the real world.
While they are at the Night of Joy, Mrs. Reilly says, "I spent all his poor Grammaw Reilly's insurance money to keep him in college for eight years,
and since then all he's done is lay around the house watching television" (Toole 22). When Mrs. Reilly walks into Ignatius's room and asks him
why he has trash all over the floor, he says, "That is my world view that you see. It still must be incorporated into a whole, so be careful where you
step" (46). All that he means when he says this is he is too lazy to pick it up. While Mrs. Reilly is on the phone with Santa, she says, "With all his
education, mind you. Selling weenies out on the street in the broad daylight" (172).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Journal about his life as a weenie salesman, he pens, "That wagon is a terrible liability. I feel as if I am stuck with a retarded child who deserves

O'Reilly often talks a lot about American culture and the music that have been very popular the past years. These songs that he writes might not be
known by the younger generations but however, he quotes lyrics to make his point.
I was captivated by the chapter of power. Wherein, he talks about some of our presidents and some TV personalities. He tells that some people enjoy
the spotlight but he says that it's hard for the people on top to stay on top because they tend to lose their motivation.
Some thinks he is conceited and interested only in promoting himself. That some may not be persuaded otherwise they read his book. Those people
who like him see him differently. That Mr. O'Reilly is looking out for the folks is very evident in the book.
Conclusion:
It is truly amazing to witness and know a great man's story. It is truly amazing and fascinating to be captivated by Mr. O'Reilly's life story, it is
indeed captivating and inspirational for all. As he said we must not let others affect our decisions and life, for they are not the one who will be the
reason of our failure. They are just challenges and triumphs in reaching in our dreams. He also stated that we must love and enjoy what are we
doing for we will never reach the top until we truly know why are working or doing something. In conclusion, Mr. O'Reilly's book is truly amazing.
It's really a bold flesh of humanity. An eye opener for everyone, to live practical and live life at it

Technology is everywhere and is evolving permanently. Since the beginning, it has been changing the way people work, travel, communicate,
socialize, and shop. Consequently, people's shopping practices have changed as well, which has led companies to modify the way they advertise their
goods and services. In "How to Market to Men in 2010" Terry O' Reilly (n.d.) states thatadvertising had a huge innovation in 1915 when the first ad
for men was printed by the company Cadillac. Marketers found a new technique to advertise merchandise, which led on to associate the product to the
desires of the people. A couple of decades ago, the more common means for advertising products were through television, radio, and print media
including newspapers, magazines, and flyers. Nowadays companies are opting out of traditional advertising and instead they are using the internet and
the social networks to promote their commodities.

Male Gaze In The Gaze
The gaze is an important part of any literary work in that it defines the viewpoint from which the reader sees the rest of the story. The gaze, however,
is also much more than a particular point of view. It is a conveyance of power, and a way in which a narrator is able to completely shape the way
readers understand other characters in the story, imparting their own standards and beliefs onto an often unrealizing audience. The gaze has a very clear
relation to power in the sense that it is what shapes how an audience sees certain things. An example of this is through the institution of white
supremacy in media via the gaze of the mass media in the mid–20th century. As Bell Hooks explains, "when black people in the United States first had

Whether it be the console game or the video, the gaze conveys the same image: the woman is an object, there for the male to act upon, but without any
input onto her surroundings of her own.
Let us take, for example, the role of Mary Jane in the Spiderman franchise. This is especially important because Spiderman is primarily marketed
towards a younger audience, thus imparting the male gaze upon young people who may never realize that they are being influenced. Mary Jane is the
object of affection of not only Spiderman, but also of Harry Osborn, who becomes the villain Green Goblin.
Here, we see Mary Jane as the object of desire for both hero and villain, and is subsequently captured and used to lure the hero into battle, where
Spiderman must come to her rescue and save the day. And then, once rescued, of course, Mary Jane falls for her heroic savior, despite the obvious
danger that his existence has placed her in throughout the course of the tale. But think, for a minute, what things would be like if they were portrayed
from the female gaze, by way of Mary Jane. The story would be entirely different, with the men involved all becoming villains in their own

The color green has been associated with monsters such as Shrek, Frankenstein, The Wicked Witch of the West, the Hulk, and the Green Goblin.
Although this color is associated with life, renewal, and nature, it has a double entendre and can be associated with greed, jealousy, and envy. For
example, the common phrase that corresponds to jealousy is the "green–eyed monster", which is the term personified. These traits are exposed in
Norman Osborn through his counterpart, the Green Goblin. Before the chaos, Norman Osborn was just the average successful white businessman.
However, through the injection of the enhancing green serum, the immoral parts of himself emerged and turned him into this villain. The storyline of
Osborn was used to show the unethical side of corporate businesses. He was used to show that everyone, including the upper–class society, has

Heroes in society have inspired others with their acts of selflessness and bravery. They demonstrate courage everyday. Courage is standing up for what
is right, doing things and knowing the risk, and that courage is different from bravery.
Standing up for what is right is an important part of courage. In the passage "An Act of Courage", Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus to a
white passenger. Rosa Parks defended her rights and was determined to do more for her community. Rosa Parks inspired many other african americans.
African americans organized a boycott, this lead to a serious decline in bus revenues and later bus segregation was unconstitutional. This inspired many

MINA O'REILLY AT LOGAN AIRPORT'S TSA
HARVARD BUSINESS CASE 9–409–116
Introduction & Background Analysis This paper provides a case study analysis and case solution to an organizational behavior and leadership Harvard
Business School case study by Michel Anteby and Erin McFee concerning the TransportationSecurity Administration (TSA) at Boston's Logan
Airport (Anteby & McFee, 2009). The case focuses on supervisor and managerial responses to a Transportation Security Officer's (TSO) role in
enabling a security breach at the airport. The time setting for the case study is a Monday morning in 2009, the day after the security breach. The
principal decision maker is Mina O'Reilly, one of about 100 Supervisor Transportation Security... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The response must be implemented in a manner which is consistent with TSA's primary mission and organizational culture. Moreover, in formulating
her response, O'Reilly must balance the competing claims of her strong favorable feelings towards Sanchez; her duty to place the safety and security
of passengers ahead of all else; her wish to satisfy her superiors, including those pressing her to make an example out of Sanchez; her responsibilities
to her direct reports (including Sanchez); and her own desire to continue to advance at TSA.
Problem Analysis
The role of Mina O'Reilly's Personal Feelings and Interests It is apparent that Mina is strongly favorably disposed towards Sanchez and she
personally likes him. Until this incident, O'Reilly put complete confidence in Sanchez's performance and sees him as a good role model for other
employees. The evidence in the case suggests that O'Reilly may be too favorably disposed towards Sanchez in a way which prevents her from
seeing his faults. She dismissed his need to be "recertified" two years ago as a result of poor performance on screening audits as an "isolated
incident on an otherwise strong record" (Anteby & McFee, 2009, p. 5). O'Reilly also does not bother to question why Sanchez has not advanced at
least to LTSO in eight years, when she herself advanced to STSO in less than three years. In assessing

Palmisano's Tushman-O-Reilly Congruence Model
IBM case study: An analysis of the changes that Palmisano began implementing at IBM in 2005 using the Tushman–O–Reilly Congruence Model
According to the Tushman–O–Reilly Congruence Model, for an organization to "successfully transform for the next generation, its four key
organizational building blocks of critical tasks, people, organizational structure and culture must be aligned and in congruence" (Fan 2006). This
model provided the basis for IBM's radical transformation in 2005 under the helm of CEO Samuel J. Palmisano. The major problem IBM was facing
was that the personal computer, the product which had been the company's 'bread and butter' product for so long, no longer had the centrality it did in
people's lives, thanks to the rise of tablets and iPhones and competition from lower–cost manufacturers. The computer industry "is growing at just 6% a
year" (Beyond blue, 2005, Businessweek). Demand is likely to contract, rather than to expand in the coming decades, particularly amongst households.
IBM resolved to shift from a product–based company to a service–based company and to focus on businesses rather than households as its main target
demographics. Now, "instead of merely selling and servicing technology, IBM is putting to use the immense resources it has in–house"В¦to help
companies"В¦rethink, remake, and even run their businesses –– everything from accounting and customer service to human resources and procurement"
(Beyond blue, 2005, Businessweek). At IBM,

"Worth the Wait." In the article, Reilly informs the audience of the previously mentioned situation that Ben is in, while also mentioning Ben's process

He mostly uses the comparisons and imagery when he is describing Ben's spectators and his friends who follow him as he finishes the race. In the
beginning, when Reilly is inquiring the audience, he adds, "Why do they nearly break their wrists applauding a junior who falls flat on his face
almost every race?" More examples in the piece being, "The other day Ben was coming in with his huge army, Ben's friends," and "I've never met
anyone with the drive that Ben has." Ben's utmost positivity in the situation that he is in has definitely touched the hearts of many in the Hanna High
School area. It persuades people to attend watching him run, even though he's comes in last and people applaud extremely when he finishes, only
extreme positivity can make people do that, it even persuaded Reilly to show up. It was exceedingly important for Reilly to write about Ben's
story because it spreaded Ben's story to most of the world, and the more coverage on stories like this only creates good for the it. His inclusion of
extreme comparisons and imagery paints a picture of what it's like to attend a race that Ben is in, making people want to actually attend one. He
even directly says this by saying, "Feel like you could use a little dose of humanity? Get yourself to Hanna. And while you're at it, go out and join
Ben's Friends." More people knowing about Ben's story means more people exposed to the idea and message of not giving up, and you can turn a

Analysis Of Weak Shall Inherit The Gym By Rick Reilly

  • 1. Analysis Of Weak Shall Inherit The Gym By Rick Reilly Dodgeball helps teach students around the world that it is OK to lose at a game every now and then, it happens to everyone. Rick Reilly, the author of the article Weak Shall Inherit the Gym stated that "Then those kids' parents will send them out into the world to realise that, Yes there are winners and losers." Bringing this statement into the argument helps show that if adults do not show those noncompetitive children that it is possible to lose, they will not act like an adult when they do lose they will never learn. Kids just have to learn to deal with it and learn from their mistakes so they will not lose next time. Children have to deal with losing like a Mature adult or they will have a rough life later on. Dodgeball is just the start of the Physical activity war. The Physical Education Directors start with getting rid of Dodgeball then they will slowly make students start to walking in circles for an hour then going back to class! Like Reilly says in his article Weak Shall Inherit the Gym "Human targets? What's tag? What's a snowball fight? What's a close play at second?" Dodgeball is just one of many "human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Weak Shall Inherit the Gym Reilly helps this statement by saying "All of a sudden 120 lbs Joe was hit with a ball, and when he turned to see who it was that threw it, he saw little 83 lb Melvin, who was mostly smile." This just shows that even the weakest and smallest children on that gym floor can have their confidence boosted with just one throw of a ball. The bigger kids had to get up top somehow right? Smaller kids just have to try harder and they could be like the "bigger kids". Children may even start to think that if they get the wins from games handed to them the easy way, that everything will be given to them the easy way. Even when they grow they will try the easy way of winning and getting what they want in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Bill O Reilly Analysis by Bill O'ReillyIs there anyone on the planet who doesn't have at least some idea of who Bill O'Reilly is? He is best known as the host of Fox News Channel's top–rated program, The O'Reilly Factor, he is also the number one best–selling author of a book by the same name. Its not a news program in the sense that it doesn't report news but instead has the capacity, more oftenthan not, to make news. There is kind of a train–wreck fascination to observing O'Reilly work and it shines through, in spots, in THE NO SPIN ZONE.O'Reilly is capable of asking just about anything, a tactic that has earned him the reputationof being rude. O'Reilly's questions, though, are his reason for being. They are not rude questions;... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also that, while he would not outlaw abortion, he considers it aghastly procedure that should be restricted and views it as a human rights issue. All of these positions raise the ire of conservatives and liberals alike, though not at the same time and not about the same reason. However, it is not unusual, to find yourself wanting to kissthe screen one moment and put your foot through it the next, no matter what your political persuasion may be.The book THE O'REILLY FACTOR was primarily about O'Reilly, but THE NO SPIN ZONE is mostly about O'Reilly television program and what has occur during some of his more notable interviews. Almost all of the chapters have a format. Each began with an exchange between O'Reilly and a guest, followed by some extended written comments quoted by O'Reilly; an edited transcript of the exchanges between O'Reilly and his guest du jour; and some additional editorial comments by O'Reilly.O'Reilly made his bones by pushing hard questions to people as diverse as James Carville and George W. Bush, Susan Sarandon and Laura Schlessinger. His insights of, and exchanges with, these individuals are found in THE NO SPIN ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Rick Reilly Satire In Rick Reilly's Fair Game, the author makes heavy use of satire to ridicule the amount of expensive gear many hunters use in the pursuit of their prey, and in turn encourage hunters to try and make do with the essentials. The article could be classified as juvenalian satire, as he paints a picture of a hunter that spends an obscene amount of money on random hunting supplies who nonetheless still considers himself superior to other hunters for his "barebones" approach. Reilly does this in several ways throughout the piece, using parody, understatement, and bathos in separate instances. The hunter in this article is a parody, though he does not represent any one person. Instead, he is the stereotypical wealthy hunter who turns the activity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In paragraph 10, the hunter claims "It's a battle of wits, I tell you," but immediately following that statement he admits that his camouflage coat and hood makes him resemble "Cousin Itt from The Addams Family," who is a short character entirely covered in long hair. In paragraph 13, the hunter says "Hunting is not about ease, comfort, or tilting the scales to satisfy a hunter's thirst for a trophy." He then goes on a short tirade against the "awful" 100 acre fenced–in hunting grounds that some hunters go on guided tours in. However, he more or less contradicts this anger in the very next paragraph when he says he prefers to hunt on 500 fenced–in acres. To top it off, he adds that he "could be out there for more than an hour before I bag my kill," as if that's a major accomplishment. These sudden lapses into absurdity serve Reilly's purpose because they undermine the achievements of the hunter, and by extension the achievements of real–life hunters that make use of so much gear. As Reilly implies that a trophy won using the many extraneous purchases of the narrating hunter isn't worth taking seriously, then he may convince people who read his article to forgo some of these items. Interestingly, this serves an appeal to the audience's own credibility, because they are forced to consider whether or not their own achievements are valid by Reilly's ... • 4. Joe Carp And Frank Reilly: What Are Friends? What are friends? I sure wouldn't know, "my friends", Joe Carp and Frank Reilly, abandoned me, teased me for my lack of intelligence, and teased me even after the operation to make me smart. Since I realized they weren't really my friends I felt only a shell of who I once was. I felt I had to protect myself and not care about others but only me. Let's rewind it to the first few incidents. Of course they knew I wasn't really smart, after all I did work most of the days out of the week with them. But it didn't stop them from their mean jokes or even using my name in replacement for being stupid or doing a dumb act. "He really pulled a Charlie Gordon" they would say. • 5. Examples Of Tension In Spider Man Term 1 drama There are many examples of relationship tension in the film spider man. I am going to state some of these starting with the first example which is in the first couple of scenes when Peter Parker is chasing the bus and everyone inside of it is laughing at him including the bus driver. This scene shows task tension because it shows that peter is trying to catch the bus and if he doesn't make it, the outcome will be that he will miss the excursion, this is relationship tension because Peter has something to do, an amount of time to do it and if he doesn't complete the task there will be consequences. This scene also shows relationship tension because everyone in the bus is laughing at peter showing he is not liked by others and even... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the first is when Peter is unknown of a spider coming down above him and he is enjoying his time with Mary Jane. The spider comes down and peter still does not know this. This is mystery tension and this changes into surprise tension because the spider snaps at Peter which was unexpected to the viewers. It starts with mystery tension because threatening things are happening to peter and he does not know and it is surprize tension because we did not expect the spider to lash out at peter. In this scene the mystery and surprise is also emphasised through the music used. Another example Of tension of mystery is when They are on the excursion looking at the spider, Mary Jane says there is only fourteen spiders when the woman said that there should be fifteen. This is tension of mystery because people are left wondering where this spider is, that it could be anywhere. Another example of tension of mystery and surprise is when Dr Osborne is testing the formula and nobody knows what the outcome is going to be and that is why it is tension of mystery. This converts to tension of surprize because dr Osborne unexpectedly grabs Norman, throwing him and killing him and this is tension of surprize because we didn't expect it to ... • 7. Comparing Odysseus and Spiderman Heroes in Action: Odysseus & Spiderman The late actor, Christopher Reeve, once stated, "A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." In the epic, Odyssey, by Homer and the film, Spiderman, directed by Sam Raimi, the crux of the storyline relates to a hero and the challenges they face along the way. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is the main character. The epic tale outlines his travels as he attempts to travel back to his home against the will of some gods. In Spiderman, Peter Parker is the main character. He undergoes a transformation from a human to spider–like characteristics and abilities. Peter Parker devotes his life to saving others who are in need. Although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Peter Parker's mentor is his Uncle Ben. Peter is always remembering little things that his uncle has told him in the past years when he was alive, such as "with great power comes great responsibility." The difference in the two characters' mentors is that Odysseus has an actual mentor that he can see and listen to in person and Peter's mentor is someone that he can only faintly remember and recall the things he said in the past. Along with Odysseus's and Spiderman's mentors, they also have allies. Odysseus's allies are the Phaecians. After Odysseus's ship is destroyed, he swims to the island Scheria, home of the Phaecians, and is warmly welcomed, fed, given gifts, and set off in a great ship to his home, Ithaca. Spiderman's allies are the citizens of Queens, New York who believe in him as being a hero and not a villain. The resemblance in the two characters is that their allies are not just one person in particular but a group of people. By the end of the heroes' journey, Odysseus and Peter go through tests, temptations, and the development of enemies. Odysseus is tested in controlling his men and getting them to do the right thing as well as of himself and his boastfulness. He is also tested on overcoming his fears when needing to enter the underworld. Additionally, Spiderman is scrutinized on saving people and building his name as the city's hero. • 8. The People Of Dune By Robert O ' Reilly The people of Dune are lead by the hope that someone stronger than them will take on their challenges. The planet has begun its ecological transformation when it comes into the possession of Duke Leto Atreides. Paul Atreides, the son of the Duke, will become the leader of the Fremen. "The story tells of the Lisan al–Gaib, 'the voice from the outer world,' which will share the dreams of the Fremen and lead them to fulfillment" (O'Reilly). There is a legend among the Fremen that a savior will ensure the success of the transformation. It becomes a rumor that Paul is that messiah because he intuitively knows how to perform Fremen tasks, such as properly wearing a stillsuit. Then, Paul 's mother makes it known that the Atreides will support the transformation, adding to the belief that Paul is their messiah. "Their strong, unconscious projection makes him even more special than he is" (O 'Reilly). Indeed, the Fremen want to believe that there is someone who can help them, someone who is capable of doing what they are unable to accomplish. "It was a story about [...] an outsider who went native and used religious fervor to fuel his own ambitions––in this case, to transform the ecology of the planet" (O 'Reilly). Then, Paul joins the Fremen in the desert, which intensifies the Fremen belief in him. Paul is an important figure for the Fremen, but not only the them. He construes "we live in a world shaped largely by these ancient salvation religions. If, as a result the ancestors, the elders, and the family are no longer honored." Salvation can be described as an objective to escape from the world (Reilly,95). Essentially, salvation when associated withreligion, is saving of the soul from the worldly sins and consequences; some of the earliest and most influential salvation religions were Christianity and Buddhism. • 10. Rhetorical Analysis Of Nothing But Nets By Rick Reilly Mosquito nets are being sought out for as many families are dying of malaria in Africa. Rick Reilly exclaims in his article "Nothing But Nets" that the need for mosquito nets is dire. Reilly begins with statistics and facts of the situation, employs emotional appeal, and uses big sports stars and businesses to show how important and easy it is to donate towards mosquito nets. Throughout most of the article, Reilly uses the appeal of logic through facts and statistics to build his argument. In the fourth paragraph of "Nothing But Nets," Reilly introduces the audience to the number 3,000, as in "3,000 kids die every day in Africa from malaria," as well as the percentage of 60 in which the disease can be reduced by with the mosquito nets. By using these numbers he exclaims the fact that 3,000 dead is just like a 9/11 every day ( Reilly). Reilly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In paragraph five, Reilly creates a situation in which there is a youth soccer tournament all over a town and out of nowhere these children experience the symptoms of malaria and die within ten days. This imagery tugs at parents' heartstrings, since this could be their own children. With this situation, Reilly evokes the feeling of losing a family member and uses it to his advantage to show the readers that it is necessary to spend money on the mosquito nets to save people from dying. Along with this situation, in the second to last paragraph, Reilly provides one of his own experiences. Reilly shares with the audience that in a trip to Tanzania he and his family played soccer with children who lived there. Later he sent them soccer balls and nets for them to enjoy, but regrets sending them the wrong thing as he knows that Tanzania is full of malaria–stricken families (Reilly). In that example, Reilly is able to show the need for malaria nets as the reader begins to feel his own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Similarities Between The Glass Castle And The Life Of Reilly In both The Glass Castle and "The Life of Reilly", both the authors got to know their dads and why they did the things they did, and both learned to forgive them and respect them as parents, despite their damaging choices, and in My Papa's Waltz, despite the possible abuse in the poem, the child still clutches at their father before bed; this shows that children, despite abuse and neglect will always have the propensity to have some kind of loyalty to their parents. Firstly, in My Papa's Waltz, the child in the poem is "dancing" with their father, but with lines like "you beat time on my head" (Roethke 13) and "such waltzing was not easy" it brings into question whether or not the poem is really about a dance. Assuming that the poem is creatively reframing abuse, it shows the vulnerability of children, and their helplessness in the face of a failed parent. Despite having just been beaten by his dad, the boy in the poem is "still clinging to your shirt" the pronoun, of course, referring to his father. In his own childish way, the boy is still loyal to his father, and still sees him as a parental figure, even though he's being activilt hurt by him, the boy seeks out his abuser for comfort. ... • 13. The O ' Reilly Factor Essay Bill O' Reilly is the host of the critically acclaimed "The O'Reilly Factor". The O'Reilly Factor is a show that airs every weekday night at 7 P.M. that mainly focuses on covering political news. It airs on Fox News which is mainly a right wing, conservative network. O'Reilly, himself is a conservative and is known for bashing President Obama on the way he leads our country. He has been on air for over 30 years and has even won an Emmy for "The O'Reilly Factor". Killing Lincoln is a timeline leading up to the assassination of President Lincoln on April 15, 1865. The main purpose this book was written was to show the reader the events of Lincoln's assassination in chronological order so that the reader could get a better understanding of what actually took place when he was assassinated. Because the book was written in chronological order, it is very easy to follow along the timeline of events. President Lincoln's assassination was a monumental event in our country's history that deserved to have a well written book documenting every single detail. O'Reilly did a tremendous job documenting these events for the reader to analyze and comprehend. Part one of Killing Lincoln begins on the battlefield. President Lincoln actually enjoyed being close to the action. He would travel to places like Virginia to watch some of the battles from a distance. In Spider–Man, Peter Parker is forced to overcome these impediments so that he can help protect the people in his city. The task that first illustrates this quest is Spider–Man's revenge on the man who killed his uncle and committed robbery. To catch this criminal, though, Spider–Man has to learn how to use his mind: thinking quickly and on–the–spot. Not only does it take courage for Spider–Man to defeat this criminal, it takes quick reflexes that only his "spidey senses" can offer him. In the end, Spider–Man tricks the man and is successful in turning him into the police. Another example of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being the hero that he is, Spider–Man decides to save both the children and Mary–Jane. A large battle between Spider–Man and the Green Goblin ensues, with the Green Goblin's eventual death, and Spider–Man's massive injuries being the result. Spider–Man finally defeats the enemy, in his final ordeal, saving New York from cold–blooded villainy for a while. Therefore, by completing, undergoing, and overcoming extremely difficult tasks such as battling with the enemy and saving the ones he loves, the film Spider–Man shows that it is part of the quest archetype. Body paragraph 2: A large part of any story, especially one with the quest archetype, is love. Since the first time he sees Mary–Jane at the age of six, Peter Parker (Spider–Man) has loved her. At this time, Peter even asked his aunt: "Aunt May, Aunt May, is that an angel?" This truly displays how much Spider–Man adores Mary–Jane. In fact, Peter will do anything to help her. For example, near the beginning of the film, Peter saves Mary–Jane from slipping in the cafeteria. Because of his powerful love of Mary–Jane, Peter also faces consequences, though. His enemies, such as the Goblin Goblin, can manipulate him using Mary–Jane as a bribe, or ransom. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Worth The Wait By Rick Reilly Some runners fear the possibility of injuries such as shin splints, twisted ankle, etc. But imagine running a 5k with these injuries– along with cerebral palsy. Renowned sports writer Rick Reilly captures the moment Hanna High junior Ben Comen, who's body is wrecked by cerebral palsy, crosses the finish line of his cross country race in the piece "Worth the Wait", written in 2003. Flagged by his teammates opponents, and even the girl's team Ben tumbles in a last ditch effort across the line to the screams of the crowd. It's near impossible to imagine what it's like to not control your body for such a long distance, enduring the adversity along the way, but Reilly pushes the reader to run alongside Ben throughout the story. He paints an image... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reilly uses some connotative diction, but mainly uses colloquial diction. Reilly uses colloquial verbs and words such as "mess," "huh?," and "amazed". Reilly uses this particular diction to make the reader feel as if they are with Ben and on the same level as him, as opposed to talking about him like he's some object. When I read the article, I felt as if Reilly was having a direct conversation with me, and I think that's what he was going for when piecing it together. He also uses this diction to connect the adversity he faces and the passion he has for the other things he loves to do, such as building ramps for Easter Seals, or helping at an assisted living home. This really makes the reader connect on an emotional level to Ben because he lives life on his own terms, and doesn't let himself get classified as just another kid with a disability, but as Ben Comen, a teen who is active in a community that surrounds and supports him through the most difficult parts of his ... Gloria Steinem is a known feminist who grew up loving Wonder Woman and feels like there should be more female heroes. Throughout her essay she explains her arguments by manipulating the rhetoric situation and presenting solid claims. Gloria Steinem is not the only talented writer who is demanding to be heard. Maura Reilly gives insight to gender inequality in another entertainment source. To begin, Steinem manipulates the rhetoric situation to help her argument. "WonderWoman" first made her debut in comics in the 1940's, which was when women's rights was first becoming a thing. Steinem realized that just like in the 40's, women and young girls ... With this claim she tried toamke the reader think about all the comics they have read to try to fact check her statement in a sense. Another claim she makes is a judgement claim. She wants her reader to know the importance of women's ability to be more than just being a great side kick. "A female child is left to believe that, even when her body is as big as her spirit, she will still be helping with minor tasks, appreciating the accomplishments of others, and waiting to be rescued." (Steinem, 456). She, and many other women in this day in age believe that women shouldn't always be the damsel in distress. Men are always taught to be the tough guy who saves the day and gets the girl, but what are women being taught? The claim that she is trying to get her reader to see is that women can be more independent in comic books and other entertainment sources. • 18. Killing Lincoln By Bill O ' Reilly In the book, Killing Lincoln, author Bill O'Reilly portrayed John Wilkes Booth as an obsessed assassin who recruited various conspirators. He described the events leading to President Lincoln's murder and the hunt to capture Booth and his cohorts. Killing Lincoln is comprehensible to anyone as young as a middle schooler, although it would be best suited for an older reader with an interest in history and politics. Killing Lincoln could also be appealing to those intrigued by conspiracy plots and criminal motives. O'Reilly constructed an action packed thriller of patriotism and war to keep the reader engaged. As an admirer of Lincoln, O'Reilly shares similar conservative views in politics and religion. O'Reilly was a New Yorker born and raised, who attended private schools and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in history at Marist College, a masters in broadcasting journalism at Boston University, and a masters of public administration at Harvard University. He has been a history teacher, a newspaper columnist, and is currently a highly successful political commentator with his own show "The O'Reilly Factor". In spite of his extensive background in history, when researching this subject, O'Reilly discovered more controversy than expected, as there are many conspiracy theories surrounding Lincoln's assassination. He revealed the layers of proven and alleged conspiracies for the reader. Today's ongoing debates of the facts played a part in O'Reilly's decision to write this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Step Brothers from start to finish is exactly this displaying 2 outrageously comical actors in Will Ferrell and John C Reilly bickering back and forth trying to learn how to cope with one another. The glory of this film comes from the constant one liners that make no sense but fit the film perfectly, the childish behavior, and the elementary school comebacks mixed in with the adult language which adds a different but great comical sense that few movies have been able to portray before. Such as when Ferrell refers to Reilly as a "Big, fat, curly–headed f***". This line had me rolling on the floor due to the seriousness of Ferrell and the reaction of Reilly and the fact that it is a simple 3rd grade insult with an F–bomb thrown in there that just makes it all that more funny. O'Reilly wrote the book to provide us the history of this war and how it changed after the death of Lincoln. The American Civil Waris underway and Lincoln's army is determined to capture the city that escaped them for ten months. To end the four year war, Ulysses S. Grant cons Robert E. Lee, Confederate general and his army into surrendering. During the 293 days of Grant's attack, Lee's army is holding on, but Lee knows he does not have a chance since Grant has four times the soldiers and more cannons. Grant hesitates to give command on troops marching across the Appomattox River on a cannon barrage that would kill hundreds. Instead of killing the Confederates, he wants to capture them. Lee's men reach their destination on April 4th at the Amelia Court House after two consecutive days. In "How to Market to Men in 2010" Terry O' Reilly (n.d.) states thatadvertising had a huge innovation in 1915 when the first ad for men was printed by the company Cadillac. Marketers found a new technique to advertise merchandise, which led on to associate the product to the desires of the people. A couple of decades ago, the more common means for advertising products were through television, radio, and print media including newspapers, magazines, and flyers. The gaze, however, is also much more than a particular point of view. It is a conveyance of power, and a way in which a narrator is able to completely shape the way readers understand other characters in the story, imparting their own standards and beliefs onto an often unrealizing audience. The gaze has a very clear relation to power in the sense that it is what shapes how an audience sees certain things. This is especially important because Spiderman is primarily marketed towards a younger audience, thus imparting the male gaze upon young people who may never realize that they are being influenced. Palmisano's Tushman-O-Reilly Congruence Model IBM case study: An analysis of the changes that Palmisano began implementing at IBM in 2005 using the Tushman–O–Reilly Congruence Model According to the Tushman–O–Reilly Congruence Model, for an organization to "successfully transform for the next generation, its four key organizational building blocks of critical tasks, people, organizational structure and culture must be aligned and in congruence" (Fan 2006). This model provided the basis for IBM's radical transformation in 2005 under the helm of CEO Samuel J. Palmisano. The major problem IBM was facing was that the personal computer, the product which had been the company's 'bread and butter' product for so long, no longer had the centrality it did in people's lives, thanks to the rise of tablets and iPhones and competition from lower–cost manufacturers.
