2. Summary
• This chapter centers on how to use the information on
the book to plan daily lessons. It provides a design to
plan lessons and support systems. Additionaly, it
suggests strategies that teachers can try in order to
enchance the effectiveness of the teaching-learning
process.
4. Instructional Methods
• Direct Teaching
• Demonstration
• Concept Attainment
• Socratic Method
• Cooperative Learning
• Simulations and Games
• Individualized Instructions
• Drill and Practice
5. Madeline Hunter
• Hunter point out the need to include strategies from
cognitive science in teaching. She created a design with
seven components. From her design, Sousa, developed a
teaching format that includes recent strategies.
6. Sousa's nine components of the design are the following:
• Anticipatory Set
• Learning Objective
• Purpose
• Input
• Modeling
• Check for Understanding
• Guided Practice
• Closure
• Independent Practice
