Stuart M. Altschuler, CPF®, GCF the director and lead educator for Prestige Framing Academy, has been in the picture
framing and art gallery business for 40 years. Hundreds of framers owe their success in the business to a good jump start
in the acclaimed Basic Framing class taught by Altschuler.
Whetherinproductdevelopementornewshopstart-up,thechallenges
ofbusinessingeneralandtheindustryinparticulararepresentedtoMr.
Altschuler on a regular basis. He brings the experience of working with
many different shops to each solution. Many of these solutions are the
basisforarticlesthatappearinVolumeMagazine,apublicationintended
for large scale production picture framers.
Consulting full time since 1997, Altschuler works with small and large
businesses to help with marketing, operations, computerization, and
strategic planning.
After appearing as a frequent contributor to Decor Magazine,
Altschuler will be a regular columinst in 2010, writing on web
marketing for small business. Altschuler’s articles also appear in
Fine Woodworking, the leading publication in the woodworking
field, for whom he has also published a video entitled “Making
Picture Frames”
As an educator Altschuler has been teaching for the past
twenty years. Classes are given in conjunction with distributors,
manufacturers, and the PPFA. Woodworking classes are taught
at several venues in North America sponsored by various
organizations.
As a speaker, Altschuler, who strives for perfection, is considered
a professional. He is a member of the National Speakers
Association.
Inadditiontohisotheractivities,Mr.Altschuler,acertifiedpictureframerandPPFAApprovedjudge,andaguildcommended
framer is a member of the national board of directors for the Professional Picture Framers Association, currently spends
the majority of his time consulting on new framing businesses and new framing departments all across North
America. A master craftsman, today Altschuler continues a tradition started three generations ago.
