for Mr. Martin Gunesch
This is to confirm that Mr. Carl Martin carried out an Internship at Mercedes-Benz U.S.
International, Inc. in the Logistics department from 09/05/2017 to 02/09/2018. He reported to
Chip Fuqua.
Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) is an automotive manufacturer located in Vance,
Alabama in the United States. As part of Daimler AG, we are the production location of the
Mercedes-Benz GLE-, GLS and GLE Coupe sport utility vehicles for more than 135 countries, and
the C-class for the North American market. In 2016, the plant produced more then 304,000
vehicles. MBUSI currently employs more than 3,700 team members.
Mr. Martin Gunesch’s main responsibilities and tasks during the internship were the following:
- Wrote Microsoft Excel VBA Macros to improve SKD business processes and reporting
- Analyzed and coded claims from the Asian production facility for wrong, missing, and
damaged parts
- Developed and tracked new KPIs on process time for claims, orders and subsequent
deliveries
- Ran weekly status reports for Asian plants and for the vice president of MBUSI’s logistics
- Translated contracts between Logistics Service Provider and Daimler AG from German
into English
- Supported SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) project, a project to meet new international
regulations on sea container weight documentation
- Allocated the costs to charge MBUSI’s main logistician back
Mr. Martin Gunesch always achieved a high degree of success as a result of his focused and
responsible approach. He produced excellent results, even under the most difficult conditions and

under pressure. His work was always characterized in every respect by his extraordinarily focused,
systematic and responsible approach. He was always prepared to shoulder extra responsibility
above and beyond the usual requirements and demonstrated huge commitment and initiative
when performing his work. In dealings with superiors and colleagues, his strong interpersonal
skills, self-confident but courteous manner and reliability always made him a popular person to
deal with. His exceptionally pronounced communication skills, his ability to put forward
arguments and his own ideas convincingly made him a valuable intern. We were always fully
satisfied with the quality of his work, even when he took on complex additional tasks.
We would like to thank him for his outstanding and successful contribution at all times and very
much regret his leaving. We wish him all the best and hope that he continues to be successful in
the future.
