OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is an interior
gateway routing protocol that
eff iciently calculates the shortest path in a
network based on the link-state data base. It
uses a dyna mic routing algorithm called
Dijkstra's algorithm to determine the
best path for data packets. OSPF is widely used
in large-scale networks due to its scalability, fast
convergence, and support for multiple routing
areas. It operates at
the Network Layer (Layer 3) of the OSI model.

OSPF offers several advantages over other
routing protocols. It provides fast convergence
by quickly ada pting to network changes and f
