3.  Osteoarthritis (OA) is a type of degenerative joint
disease that results from breakdown of joint
cartilage and underlying bone

 Pain
 Tenderness
 Decrease ROM
 Crepitus
 Generally OA symptoms minimal
 Gradual and insidious onset
 Worse later in the day
 Decrease with rest
 Joint stiffness
 Swelling
 Muscle wasting

 Barometric change

9.  Strongly associated with age
 80% of people above 55 years have OA at least one
joint
 Joint failure
 OA is steadily becoming the most common cause of
disability for middle aged and has become the most
common cause of disability for those older than 65
