3. What is the Seal of
Biliteracy?
The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a
school, district, or county office of education in
recognition of students who have studied and
attained proficiency in two or more languages by
high school graduation.
The Seal of Biliteracy encourages students to
pursue biliteracy, honors the skills our students
attain, and can be evidence of skills that are
attractive to future employers and college
admissions offices.

We are the first school, and district, in our region to
offer the Seal of Biliteracy and are unique in the
amount of languages that we offer the Seal of
Biliteracy in.
We will offer the Seal of Biliteracy for any of the
following languages:

6. Who is eligible?
Anyone who speaks, understands,
reads, or writes in English and
another language!
You must show proficiency in both
English and another language.

Seal of Bilingualism
Seal of Biliteracy
Seal of Biliteracy Honors
You will have a special seal on your
diploma stating that you received the
Seal of Biliteracy, as well as a medal
given to you during the graduation
ceremony.
8. 3 Levels of Awards
Seal of Bilingualism
You speak and listen in two languages.
You have a 2.5 GPA and will graduate on time.
Seal of Biliteracy
You speak, listen, read, and write in two languages.
You have a 3.0 GPA and will graduate on time.
Seal of Biliteracy Honors
You speak, listen, read, and write in two languages.
You have a 3.5 GPA and will graduate on time.
You have completed or will complete at least 10
hours of community service this year.

10. How do I apply?
Complete an application form online.
When completing the form, you only
have to check one box for each
language.
Show up for your test, if you need to
take one, and do your best! Language
testing will occur during the Fall
Semester.
