JOURNAL ENTRIES – THIRD PARTIAL
Below you will find the Journal entries corresponding to the second partial. It must be
ready by August 8th. Write down a whole page, without skipping a line, and using your
own words.
If you must do some research, use books, internet or any other means you may find, but
remember, that you must write down everything using your own words. Use the facts
found during the research to make your writing more vivid. Use the guidelines given
below, for every entry to have a better idea on what you may write about.
Southwest Asian Countries
o Choose one of the countries from Southwest Asia, to be your home
country. Write an invitation to your country. Write down why you
want people to visit it, why would it be so interesting, and what new
experiences can you do over there?
Life in Mesopotamia
o Imagine you are a hunter-gatherer arriving in Mesopotamia with
your tribe. What do you find there that makes you want to stay there
forever? Describe the area.
Sumerian Inventive
o Choose an innovation done by the Sumerians and explain why you
think it is so important, even today. Compare and contrast how life
was before it, and how it was after its development.
Jewish Traditions
o Read about the Bar Mitzvahs. Compare and contrast it with a familiar
Christian tradition. Use your own words!
Masada
o Imagine you are an Israelite survivor from Masada. Describe your
experience in there!
