                   JOURNAL ENTRIES – SECOND PARTIAL

Below you will find the Journal entries corresponding to the second partial. It must be
ready by June 11th. Write down a whole page, skipping a line, and using your own
words.

If you must do some research, use books, internet or whatever means you may find, but
remember, that you must write down everything using your own words. Use the facts
found during the research to make your writing more vivid. Use the guidelines given
below, for every entry to have a better idea on what you may write about.

   • From hunter gatherer to farmer
Imagine you used to be a hunter gatherer. Now your cousin has shown you the great
advantages of agriculture. When your harvest is ready, you now have more time for
yourself. What can you do with that time? Remember, this was 7000 years ago.

   • Sargon
In your book, you have a short biography of king Sargon. Compare to another
famous character, and write the similarities and differences from their life. Hint: the
other character appears in the Bible!

   • Gilgamesh
After we have read the short portion from the epic of Gilgamesh: write down an
entry describing the most admirable traits he has. Imagine you are talking about a
super hero (like Spider Man, Hulk, etc)

   • Battle Chariot
Look for a picture of a Battle Chariots used by the Hittites. Imagine you are a
soldier of another army and one of these frightening inventions is charging towards
you. What are your thoughts? What do you do?

   • Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Do some research on what they were exactly, and why they where catalogued to be
one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient World. Try to imagine yourself being a
visitor in Babylon thousands of years ago and looking at these amazing sights! What
   do you see?
