3. Desire. Who wants what, at the outset?
4. Obstacles. What gets in the way, on the way to your goal?

2. 5. Fail. Describe the big moment of failure—the point when you realized the project had failed. (This
should be memorable, and make an impression.)
6. Lessons. What did you learn from this experience? How can you turn the failure into a learning
experience? These should be things that allow you to act—that is, “Technology change is hard” is not
an actionable lesson, but “Training is crucial” is.
