Who would be the audience for
your media product?
• I saw that many Thrillers target audience is 18+. For example, The
Unholy (18+), The Never List (18+) and The Asylum (18+). However
our target audience for our title sequence Captive, we all decided
that it would be 14+ as that is what our survey reflects on. Some
thriller films such as ‘Final Destination’ and ‘Disturbing Behaviour’
had a low target audience to attract a teenage audience.
• Our title sequence is a psychological thriller genre.
We inspired our title sequence on the title sequence
Se7en with some reference to the film A Beautiful
Mind. I researched the conventions of a thriller
genre and tried to incorporate it with the title
sequence. The reason why it is 14+ is because there is no
nudity or sex being portrayed (it may be
discreetly). There is also no strong language or
references to sexual behaviour.
Our audience can be anyone from male/female,
white/black, young/old, able/disabled,
middle class/ working class etc. We are generalising
our media product.
