Patients 1,2, and 3
All three of these characters are young adults and we want to depict them having a urban lifestyle
in a city with informal clothes opposed to smart and professional clothes. I will be researching other
films to see how they create the image of young people. This research will be from all film genres
as it is more easier to find the style we want.
Kidulthood
Kidulthood’s narrative revolves around a group of teenagers living in a inner city area. the
costumes do have characteristics that are possible for our own film however I feel the costumes of
hoodies, tracksuits and baseball caps are relate more with the stereotypical image of gangs and
‘Chavs’.
21 Jump Street
The film is based in a high school in the USA however I feel the costumes used are perfect as they
are simplistic and are slightly smart in comparisons to the clothes in Kidulthood. The films uses
clothes such as shirts, t-shirts, jeans etc.
