Taking care of young children requires keeping them safe, meeting their basic needs, and helping them develop. Parents should keep environments kid-friendly by locking up dangerous objects, do background checks on caretakers, and use safety devices like smoke detectors. It is important to provide food, shelter, clothing, and medical supplies while also fostering a child's self-esteem through acceptance, encouragement, and teaching proper hygiene and expectations. Parents should serve as role models by showing respect, values like honesty, and avoiding too much time away from their children. Pursuing careers like teaching through programs at local academies can allow one to positively influence children.

● Life Event Planning: An individual or team event - recognizes participants
who apply skills learned in Family and Consumer Sciences courses to
manage the costs of an event.

Good or Bad is a game for children that helps them learn about Dangerous
and Safe things.
● How you play this game
● you print out cards with dangerous and safe things.
○ EX: Toys, knife, bleach, teddy bear.
● Then you put the cards on the floor and let your child walk/crawl
towards them.
● Reward your child
● Positive reinforcement will teach your child to know about bad or good
things

11. Summary
When taking care of your child there is a lot of things to
think about. Your child is very precious. When you do all of
these steps you can keep your child safe and happy. You will
be tired of taking your child but it is all worth it. Your child
will grow up and be happy with the care you have given
them as well.
