 Many of us are deprived of an efficient
  digestive and eliminative system which
  guarantees the fundamental pleasures of
  life, mental and physical living
 Long term abuse leads to chronic
  degenerative diseases. Cancers,
  headache, heart diseases, diabetes etc.
 Yogic science strongly recommends
  strong GI tract and spinal column. By
  strengthening these the Pranic energy is
  reactivated which assists in self-healing
  and detoxifying the whole system
REVAMPING
 For optimal health and vitality and
  reduce the suffering and discomfort
  we should learn how to eat. Moreover
  right food, eaten at right quantities and
  right times with right attitude is utmost
  essential.
 Most of us eat not for hunger or satisfy
  our appetite but to satisfy our
  emotional needs and greed, to relieve
  frustration, to while away time.
  Remember- YOU ARE WHAT YOU
  EAT
CHAKRA SYSTEM
 Kundalini Yoga explains that the
  Manipura Chakra which symbolizes
  the agni or fire element which
  consumes what we eat.
 In Bhagavad Gita Sri Krishna declares
  that He alone is the sole recipient of
  the fuel which turns them into power
  for the whole body.
CAUSES                      SYMPTOMS

 Emotional disturbance       Heartburn
 Swallowing air              Head ache
 Too many refined foods      Heaviness in stomach
 Excessive water drinking    Irregularity in bowels
 Poor mastication
 Hasty consumption of
  food
 Late supper
 Oily, greasy food



              INDIGESTION
HYPOACIDITY
 Food remains in the stomach several
  hour after eaten. It ferments releasing
  gas.
 Reasons – insufficient gastric, salivary
  secretions, weak acid, insufficient
  lactobacillus in the stomach
REGURGITATION
   Rising up of the liquid, partially
    digested food, from stoach to the
    oesaphagus leading to nausea,
    unpleasant sensation, bloating etc
HYPERACIDITY
 Other extreme of the hypo acidity.
  Over active processes releasing acid
  and gastric juices leading to ‘dry run’
  always
 Because of over active taste buds,
  smoking and alcohol, the stomach
  gets a message to start churning
  which further complicates the whole
  disease
HEARTBURN
 Burning irritation and pain felt behind
  sternum and in the centre of chest
 Occurs normally after eating
SOLUTION
 Change eating from mechanical eating
  habit to a pleasurable act which
  nourishes body and soul
 Avoid over, hasty, eating. No rich food
  eating
Yogic Management
 Asanas
 Pranayama- Nadi Sodhana
 Bandhas- Jalandhara, Uttiyana, and
  Moola
 Relaxation- Savasana
 Diet- avoid rich foods made of refined
  floor, esp during nights. Eat more
  whole foods. Alcohol/Cig will
  aggravate the conditions
 Fasting- every fortnight recommended
 Self awareness
 Regularity
 Enjoy every morsel of food with
  sufficient mastication,
 Learn to say NO when full
 Eat for appetite and not as a task
 Avoid eating when anxious,
  depressed, excited, tensed, tired,
  exhausted. Take to Savasana before
  eating
 Don’t drink water when eating
 Don’t eat for compulsions or
  obligations
 Eat minimum 3 hours before bedtime,
  practice Vajrasana, walk min 200
  meters, pray and retire
 A warm milk will induce restful sleep
  which is essential for good digestion
 EAT ONLY VEGETARIAN FOOD

Yogic tips for strong digestive system

  • 1. STRONG DIGESTIVE SYSYEM WITH YOGA BY YOGS GURU V. SATYANARAYAN
  • 2.  Many of us are deprived of an efficient digestive and eliminative system which guarantees the fundamental pleasures of life, mental and physical living  Long term abuse leads to chronic degenerative diseases. Cancers, headache, heart diseases, diabetes etc.  Yogic science strongly recommends strong GI tract and spinal column. By strengthening these the Pranic energy is reactivated which assists in self-healing and detoxifying the whole system
  • 3. REVAMPING  For optimal health and vitality and reduce the suffering and discomfort we should learn how to eat. Moreover right food, eaten at right quantities and right times with right attitude is utmost essential.  Most of us eat not for hunger or satisfy our appetite but to satisfy our emotional needs and greed, to relieve frustration, to while away time. Remember- YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
  • 4. CHAKRA SYSTEM  Kundalini Yoga explains that the Manipura Chakra which symbolizes the agni or fire element which consumes what we eat.  In Bhagavad Gita Sri Krishna declares that He alone is the sole recipient of the fuel which turns them into power for the whole body.
  • 5. CAUSES SYMPTOMS  Emotional disturbance  Heartburn  Swallowing air  Head ache  Too many refined foods  Heaviness in stomach  Excessive water drinking  Irregularity in bowels  Poor mastication  Hasty consumption of food  Late supper  Oily, greasy food INDIGESTION
  • 6. HYPOACIDITY  Food remains in the stomach several hour after eaten. It ferments releasing gas.  Reasons – insufficient gastric, salivary secretions, weak acid, insufficient lactobacillus in the stomach
  • 7. REGURGITATION  Rising up of the liquid, partially digested food, from stoach to the oesaphagus leading to nausea, unpleasant sensation, bloating etc
  • 8. HYPERACIDITY  Other extreme of the hypo acidity. Over active processes releasing acid and gastric juices leading to ‘dry run’ always  Because of over active taste buds, smoking and alcohol, the stomach gets a message to start churning which further complicates the whole disease
  • 9. HEARTBURN  Burning irritation and pain felt behind sternum and in the centre of chest  Occurs normally after eating
  • 10. SOLUTION  Change eating from mechanical eating habit to a pleasurable act which nourishes body and soul  Avoid over, hasty, eating. No rich food eating
  • 11. Yogic Management  Asanas  Pranayama- Nadi Sodhana  Bandhas- Jalandhara, Uttiyana, and Moola  Relaxation- Savasana  Diet- avoid rich foods made of refined floor, esp during nights. Eat more whole foods. Alcohol/Cig will aggravate the conditions  Fasting- every fortnight recommended
  • 12.  Self awareness  Regularity  Enjoy every morsel of food with sufficient mastication,  Learn to say NO when full  Eat for appetite and not as a task  Avoid eating when anxious, depressed, excited, tensed, tired, exhausted. Take to Savasana before eating
  • 13.  Don’t drink water when eating  Don’t eat for compulsions or obligations  Eat minimum 3 hours before bedtime, practice Vajrasana, walk min 200 meters, pray and retire  A warm milk will induce restful sleep which is essential for good digestion  EAT ONLY VEGETARIAN FOOD
  • 16. OUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED FOR HERBIVOROUS FOOD. SO BE A GRASS EATER. MAAAAAA.
