SURVEY RESULTS

Q2: WHAT IS YOUR AGE?
The responses I received
mainly lean to older
teens (17, 18, 19). It is
assumed that the
average target
demographic is older
adults. As part of our
brief we wanted to
encourage young people
to visit the exhibit, which
is why we tried to target
our survey towards them.
Q2: WHAT'S
YOUR PREFERRED GENDER IDENTITY?
The results I received
lean more towards
people who identify with
(but not limited to)
she/her pronouns,
however, I did receive all
almost equal amount of
responses from people
who identify with he/him
pronouns meaning that
my results aren't biased.
Q3: WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?
'Student' - 4
'Student at Sixth Form' - 1
'Uni Student' - 1
From these results, we
can see that roughly 72.8
% (8/11) of the people
that responded are at
least students and
45.5 (5/11) of
respondents (which is
almost half of them)
have at least a job, this
may affect my results as
the people who
responded may
potentially have less free
time to visit the gallery.

Q4: IS THERE ANYTHING YOU
WOULD HIGHLIGHT AS BEING
DONE WELL?
• The layout is fun and professional
• Impressive art, a nice array of different
pieces
• Yes
• Creative and Meaningful artwork, a nice
way to pay respect and recognition to the
staff at the NHS
• Clearly shows the artwork and matches the
brief
• I like the way you have framed the pictures
• Portraits
• Nice layout and high quality images
• Including a mix of patients and staff, as well
as the variety of art styles and use of ppe
was effective.
• The little details in the background of some
of the paintings is amazing including
everything you’d see with nurses
• The shot angles and how the colours catch
the eye.
The yellow highlighted comments relate to
work I did on the video. Comments in italics I
feel best relate to the artists' work in the
video.
These comments reflect on how they enjoy
the artwork with its style and variety. Several
comments also enjoy they layout of the
images.
Q5: IS THERE ANYTHING YOU
WOULD HIGHLIGHT AS BEING
DONE POORLY OR COULD BE
IMPROVED NEXT TIME?
• It is a bit quick and sudden with the rapid
changes without a subtle transition
• Include the artists' names in the video
• Crediting the artists for every picture in
the slideshow would be nice
• multiple pictures could be shown at once
• nothing comes to mind
• Timing
• I would like consistent captioning (artist
and workers) and I think music would be
beneficial
• Possibly adding music/commentary in
the background could engage the
audience more
• possibly show more than one image in the
video at a time.
Comments in bold reflect issues relating to
the video's appearance. Comments
underlined reflect issues relating to the
video's audio. Comments in blue highlight
reflect issues relating to naming artists in the
video.
These comments collectively suggest naming
the artists (and possibly the workers in their
images) in my video. One comment in
particular suggests that I should relate each
picture to the relevant artists' (and workers')
names. There are also several comments that
say I should fix my timing to be slower and to
use several images at once. I also see several
comments that suggest adding background
audio such as voiceover or music.

feel that the brief had
been met

YOU RECOMMEND, IN ORDER
TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO VISIT
THE GALLERY?
These results show that the majority of
respondents feel that further changes would not
affect their decision further to visit the Yare
Gallery.
I feel that this was left in the wrong question
format as I could've received better feedback
relating to the question. I also could've posed the
question as: 'What changes would you
recommend in order to encourage you to visit
the Yare Gallery (more) ?'
I also believe that it is worth noting, I feel that
through my survey I could've empahsised more
that by making this video, whichever the client
picks from all submissions will be displayed
alongside an exhibit relating to NHS Covid
Portraits at the Yare Gallery.
I also could've asked if my video and awareness
of the brief would encourage people to visit the

Comments in blue highlight reflect issues relating to naming artists in the video. These comments collectively suggest naming the artists (and possibly the workers in their images) in my video. One comment in particular suggests that I should relate each picture to the relevant artists' (and workers') names. There are also several comments that say I should fix my timing to be slower and to use several images at once. I also see several comments that suggest adding background audio such as voiceover or music.

These results show that the majority of respondents feel that further changes would not affect their decision further to visit the Yare Gallery. I feel that this was left in the wrong question format as I could've received better feedback relating to the question. I also could've posed the question as: 'What changes would you recommend in order to encourage you to visit the Yare Gallery (more) ?' I also believe that it is worth noting, I feel that through my survey I could've empahsised more that by making this video, whichever the client picks from all submissions will be displayed alongside an exhibit relating to NHS Covid Portraits at the Yare Gallery.
