Paper presentation at the London Computing Conference 2017
Abstract- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have shown great promise in the field of medicine and healthcare. This paper seeks to understand how AI and ML have been applied to the realm of patient care within the context of chronic disease, with a specific focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). First we present an overview of IBD, highlighting the nature of the disease and some of the challenges the various stakeholders face within the framework of outpatient care. Then we outline the current state of research into the application of AI and ML in general clinical care and in relation to IBD. After which we explore how both AI and ML have been utilized to help with the outpatient treatment of chronic illnesses which share similar challenges to that of IBD, such as Diabetes, mental health conditions and Parkinson ’s disease, so as to gain precedent into how similar techniques may be used to assist in IBD outpatient support. Finally, we discuss the work that has passed and explore the prospect of future research into the field.

Summary
The current anxiety about the importance of the STEM sector in the rapidly evolving society, as well as the need for skilled staff stemming from the so-called 'skills gap', make the role of the school crucial and decisive for the mobilization and orientation of the young people in STEM science careers. A brief overview from the international literature highlights the need for collaboration and connection between the secondary education and workplaces. In the first part of the workshop will be presented not only the innovative actions and the focus area of European Schoolnet , but also the recourses and projects of Scientix that support the educational community to prepare young people for STEM careers. In particular, will be presented very important initiatives Professional Go Back at School and Teacher Placements, which has developed by STEM Alliance to strengthen the co-operation between industry and schools. In addition, these initiatives are framed by the presentation of the results of STEM career events with the presence of professionals in the schools, as well as providing guidance to teachers, parents and business based on booklets and guides and on the digital tool (www.stemalliance.eu/pgbs_tool) to set up community partnerships for STEM counseling careers. In the second part of the workshop, appropriate structured questionnaires will be completed by the participants, with the main goal the syntax of methodological school plan strategies for the creation of STEM career guidance scenarios.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Describe what the method consists of, and at which stage of the diagnosis it will be
used. What advantages does it offer?
13. Cancer research concentrates on several different areas: the epidemiology of the
disease, risk factors, the identification of associated genes and new treatments, etc. In
your initial work groups, describe the research focus of studies published in specialised
journals:. See in this reference some interesting articles published by the journal Nature
on the genetic basis of cancer.
• Look separately for other articles in the press regarding cancer research and then explain
in a group to your classmates what these studies consist of.
• In the video entitled Looking for genes in the lab, you’ll meet the doctors and scientists
who are researching the genetics of melanoma and listen to the personal story of a
woman with a family history of the disease. In groups, answer the following questions:
14. Research Questions
What is the purpose of looking for genes related to cancer?
What are the steps which need to be taken to study the presence of these genes in
certain people who are suspected of having them as a result of family history?
Would you take a genetic test for the disease? Who should have access to the
data? Should other companies have access to the data?
15. Conclusion
What is the conclusion of your experiment? Did the results
support your hypothesis or predicted outcome? How will your
findings help the area of science you’ve researched?
16. This is the most
important take away that
everyone has to
remember.
18. Conclusion
Play with the multimedia tools provided below. You will find explanations about different
