Applying assessment results to client is essential is assisting individuals who may be coping with
stressful situations. The objective of the skilled professional is to recognize the symptoms of stress
and being able to interpret the results of the COPE Assessment Tool as a means of determining the

He rewarded and welcomed innovation and placed a great emphasis on recruiting and retaining only

It s not an easy task to change completely the culture of a company, to set new strategic objectives.
However, companies must change over time and not be static (Pfeffer J. , 1998). A strong culture is an
asset that a skilled manager can use and apply for the development of a company (Christensen, 2006)
and Rorsted understands and applies that well. He managed to match the company s culture with the
strategic goals. He developed a specific and conrete action plan with clear strategic goals and values
and tried to communicate it among the employees. Only a company culture with clear goals adjustable

disadvantages can you identify? Which are the implications of the new system for employee
motivation?
In terms of the general makeover that Henkel went through the performance evaluation system was
not left aside. It was necessary to re create a new reward system. A new reward system that would

War Measures Act Essay
Throughout history, the actions of governments have always been debated; however, occasionally
there are certain events which spark much controversy, both at the time of the event and by historians
today. One of these controversial acts was the invocation of the War Measures Act in 1970, an act
which suspended the civil liberties of Canadian citizens. In October 1970, in what became known as
the October Crisis, the Front de libération du Québec, (commonly known as the FLQ) which was a
French Canadian organization advocating independence from Canada, kidnapped two politicians. This
initiated a series of events, one of which was the invocation of the War Measures Act by Prime
Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Many historians argue that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, both Prime Minister Trudeau and Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa were not willing to give
into the FLQ demands, External Affairs Minister Mitchell Sharp even claimed the demands to be
wholly unreasonable, despite the fact the life of a prominent politician was at stake. On October 10th
1970, Bourassa finally comes back to Quebec from his a trip in New York, which he deemed as more
significant than the crisis in Quebec. Later that evening, two FLQ members kidnapped Pierre Laporte,
the Quebec Minister of Labour. Five days later after still refusing to meet the FLQ demands, Trudeau
calls upon the War Measures Act. Under the regulations of the Act, which dated back to World War
One, Trudeau s government suspended the civil liberties of Canadian citizens, and were able to arrest
and detain anyone suspected of belonging to the FLQ, or even supporting the FLQ. The body of Pierre
Laporte was discovered in the trunk of a car three days later, in what was believed to have been
retaliation for the War Measures Act, as the murder itself occurred one to two days after the Act was
invoked. On December 3rd, 2007 the FLQ kidnappers released James Cross in exchange for safe
conduct to Cuba. Over the next several months many of the kidnappers were

Examples Of Polite Language In The Giver
Just for a second, imagine a world without war, conflict or grief. Refreshing, right? But it s also a
world without memory, feelings and color, at least in the premise of Lois Lowry s, The Giver. It was
published by HarperCollins in 1993, it shares the same motive of a perfect and utopian society. What
is a perfect society? Is it where people have to be uniform to each other? What is the point having such
a life where you cannot make your own choices?, you cannot have feelings or unable to live with your
own biological parents. There is one thing about the community in the giver, it is very well organized
and no possible war. This is because each member of the community is trained to be polite from

Comprehensive Assessment Of Wetlands
Society views about wetlands have changed considerably since the continent was settled by the
colonists, and especially since the mid 20th century when interest in wetland preservation and
protection for the functions and values they serve emerged (Dahl Allord, 1996). In the 1700 s, there
were approximately 90 million hectares of wetlands in what is now the conterminous forty eight
states, with a significant proportion of those associated with the nation s river systems (Dahl, Johnson,
Frayer, 1991). Two hundred years later, over half of this area has been lost or significantly modified
by some form of conversion or by alteration of the hydrologic regime (Dahl Allord, 1996; Hauer
Smith, 1998).

In 2008, EPA developed the core element framework (CEF) approach to guide states and tribes with
wetland program development. The CEF was designed so states and tribes could focus wetland
management and program goals into one or all of four common objectives. These four common
objectives are: 1) Monitoring and assessment; 2) Regulatory activities, including 401 certification; 3)

Summary Of The Novel White Fang
The novel White Fang was written by Jack London in 1906. The well known book is a realistic fiction
story. Although the novel is fiction, the author based the book on his own life experiences. White Fang
takes place in the 1890 s; it was set in past Canadian territories during the Klondike Gold Rush.
Weather conditions were harsh and deadly, considering that temperatures most likely never exceeded
zero degrees fahrenheit. The novel was written in third person point of view, which is mainly
presenting the way White Fang experiences life. The point of view helps the reader understand the
story because it shows how a wild dog comes into the rough world and goes through jurassic life
obstacles.
The protagonist of the novel White Fang is a wild dog named White Fang. After being separated from
his mother, White Fang was put through many harsh environments. He learned how to fight for
himself, and he also learned how to take advantage of power. In the North, it is not easy to obtain
survival skills; however, White Fang quickly developed them. The dog was born into the savage
world, in which he conquered every challenge that came his way.
White Fang included several different antagonists throughout the novel. One antagonist that White
Fang encountered was Lip lip. Lip lip was a wild dog that had a strong hatred towards White Fang; he
even encouraged all the dogs at the Indian Camp to turn against him. Lip lip constantly wanted to
make sure White Fang was not successful in

The Effects Of Stress On The Workplace
The word stress is defined as a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or
very demanding circumstances. The world is full of endless opportunities; we are allowed to pursue
anything in life through hard work. This is something that is emphasized early in life through school.
Generally not everyone is informed of the stresses of certain routes chosen in life through occupations.
There is now ways to find out how stressful jobs are. Schools are providing classes required by the
state to teach. It is no secret that some jobs are more stressful than others. What may not be known as
much is how to avoid that stress in the workplace. Sometimes stress can not be avoided and become to
much to bear. This is when it is important to know what to do. What not to do is to turn to negative
behaviors, medication, or therapy, the right way to go would be through what fits an individual best,
through simple daily changes. Before deciding where to go after the stress work overload has
occurred, there should be an understanding of how jobs truly do affect us. The human mind is difficult
to understand, and how stress affects everyone differently is overwhelming. There are different levels
of stress in certain jobs in our society that should be understood. Jobs can be detrimental to mental
health, when they become too stressful. One of the most known of these would be the military. Mainly
because of the common mental illness called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,

diversified its economic activities into textile and apparel industry, tourism and financial services.
Mauritius has one of the strongest economies in Africa, with a GDP of US$ 9.427 billion in 2010 and
per capita income close to $13,500. The economy has sustained high 6% annual growth rate for the
last two decades. Mauritius is now classified as a middle income country and ranks, on the basis of the
recent Human Development Index for 173 countries, 67th globally, 40th among developing countries,
and second in Africa. The average economic growth was 5.6% over the last 3 years. The Mauritian
economy has experienced profound structural changes during the last two decades. The rapid
development of manufacturing in the 1980s led to job creation, largely through the growth of export
processing zone (EPZ) enterprises. Since the early 1990s, the financial services and tourism industries
have emerged as new growth sectors, requiring higher skilled workers. The demand for high skilled
workers is expected to strengthen further in coming years as the government moves forward to
actively promote the development of an information communications technology sector and free port

1.2 Structural Problems that Stop the Growth of EIIC
After analysing the big picture of insurance circumstance, this chapter will discuss the main problems
of EIIC in terms of structural operation and strategic operation in other to find the most critical fault
and some assumed solutions to fix it.
The increasing employee turnover is a very apparent sigh of company dysfunction at EIIC s
organisational structure. According to the case files, there were a lot of complex conflicts between
managers and employees, branch offices and headquarter, technical personnel and administrative
personnel. The most remarkable conflict came from branch managers and the chief inspectors, which
had been finely noticed by EIIC s top officers. So the high employee turnover rate is caused by the
current ineffective organisational structure of EIIC. Both of chief inspector and the bank manager
have the right to make the final decision of whether to insure certain risks or not. What s more, it is
impossible for bank managers to monitor their inspection workers. In conclusion, the disorganization
of the management layer caused more and more conflicts among the staffs and consequently beat
down the employee morals.
1.3 The Most Critical Problem for EIIC: The Heavily Cost of Inspection
Unfortunately, out of management level, EIIC also have problems in the term of

How Does Ron Rash Use Foreshadowing In Burning Bright
From the short story Burning Bright, by Ron Rash, an American poet, short story writer and novelist;
writes one of his stories on Lincolnites, which is about a nineteen year old woman who defends her
house from a Confederate soldier who wishes to take some precious items which the farm needs to
survive. In this story, Ron Rash uses symbolism to express the meaning to something which is beyond
its literal sense, he uses irony to say one thing when it actually means another, and he uses the
foreshadowing to have the audience predict what will happen in the future. The first example of
foreshadowing that Ron Rash uses are the long steel needles which being used for her knitting. In a

Confederate would look at Grandfather Mountain as if looking at something or someone which is

description that God is watching you because the mountain is old and tall, so with the coming rain, it

The Drug Crisis Of Colombia
It is astounding how a group of traffickers in Colombia have been able to keep a drug trade business
going despite the government rejections. The traffickers started off with importing marijuana into the

...shipments grew from individuals carrying small amounts of large quantities on boats and low flying

Medellin and one led in Cali. Soon enough, the drug industry became so powerful that it influenced
the country politically through threats, political contributions, and bribery. This power created conflict
throughout the country creating violence which resulted in hundreds of deaths. It had resulted in
complete chaos since the country was overpowered by illegal drugs. Despite Colombia s strong

The 1970 s gave birth to the summer blockbuster films that appealed to the young, mass audiences.
Movies such as Jaws and Star Wars in 1975 and 1977 respectively, started the blockbuster trend.
Begin with lots of action, great music, and a ton of special effects, and you have a hit movie.
Audiences were amazed at the effects in George Lucas Star Wars and although the film looks old
fashioned by today s standards, seeing life like foreign creatures and flying ships was exciting stuff
(Howell, 2001).
The 1980 s saw cable television, direct broadcast satellite and videocassettes all offering new ways to
see films. Digital sound was introduced into theatres to draw the audiences once again. Now, special
effects have reached a whole new level. If you ve been to the movies lately, you have probably noticed
that many movies rely heavily on computer generated images (Howell, 2001). Films such as Shrek
and Final Fantasy are made from all computer generated images. Sometimes it is difficult to tell
whether characters are animated or real. Final Fantasy contains some of the most lifelike images ever

Essay about Galileo and the History of the Catholic Church
Galileo and the History of the Catholic Church In the history of the Catholic Church, no episode is so
contested by so many viewpoints as the condemnation of Galileo. The Galileo case, for many, proves
the Church abhors science, refuses to abandon outdated teachings, and is clearly not infallible. For
staunch Catholics the episode is often a source of embarrassment and frustration. Either way it is
undeniable that Galileo s life sparked a definite change in scientific thought all across Europe and
symbolised the struggle between science and the Catholic Church. In 1543 Nicholas Copernicus, a
Polish Canon, published On the Revolution of the Celestial Orbs . The popular view is that

Most early church officials took it for granted; they really weren t interested in scientific explanations
of the cosmos. Prior to Galileo s time, the Greek and medieval mind, science was a kind of formalism,
a means of coordinating data, which had no bearing on the ultimate reality of things. The point was to
give order to complicated data, and all that mattered was the hypothesis that was simplest to
understand and most convenient. Astronomy and mathematics were regarded as the playthings of
intellectuals. They were accounted as having neither philosophical nor theological relevance. There
was genuine puzzlement among Churchmen that they had to get involved in a quarrel over planetary
orbits. Aristotle had refuted heliocentricity , and by Galileo s time nearly every major thinker
subscribed to a geocentric view. Copernicus had delayed the publication of his book for years because
he feared not the censure of the Church, but the mockery of academics. It was the hide bound
Aristotelians in the schools who offered the fiercest resistance to the new science. Aristotle was the
Master of Those Who Know; perusal of his texts was regarded as almost superior to the study of
nature itself. The Aristotelian universe comprised two worlds, the superlunary and the sublunary. The
former consisted of the moon and everything beyond; it was perfect and

Comparing Louka And Sergius
The last type of love is manipulative love. Such a type of love is not determined by fate, but instead
man made through cunning actions and quick wit. It thrives upon the great desire of one individual for

great insight into this type of love. The first example of manipulative love is presented when Louka
and Sergius are alone together. She begins to tear at the foundation of the relationship of Raina and

that she is better than him because she would marry for true love regardless of her status. She gives an

Designer Patrick Robinson leaves the company (loss of key staff)
According to the article, Gap is facing a difficult situation as their head designer, Patrick Robinson,
leaves the company. Retail analysts believe that the company needs to be downsized by closing
unproductive stores, they need to make management changes, and they need improved products that
are consistent with the merchandising strategies. The basic problem is that Gap s image has declined
and people are starting to associate them as tired, commoditized, driven by price. Gap needs to be
repositioned, and they need someone who understands the customer, that will turn the brand around.
Gap s strategy is to close all stores that are underperforming in order to cut costs. They will also spend
more money on advertising and marketing to a younger market and to minorities such as Hispanics,
Asians, and African Americans. By doing so, they hope to acquire greater market share. They will also
use new technology that will locate products online and in stores.
In my opinion, I think that Gap s image has definitely started to decline. Today, most customers are

Delegation Decentralization
DELEGATION Delegation is an integral component of the organizing process. Since manager is
responsible for the performance of such a large variety of tasks, activities and functions that he cannot
perform them all by himself, he assigns a part of work to his subordinates. In doing so he keeps with
himself those tasks and functions which he consider crucial to his goal accomplishment and transfer to
his subordinates less important work which he need not to do himself. It is through this process of
assignments of task and activities to his sub ordinates that he can devote his time, energies and

the goal or objective of the task, 2. the results to be achieved, 3. performance standards required, 4.
quality standards to be observed, 5. the importance and relevance of the task and 6. the exact
procedures to be followed. 4. The next step in the delegation flowchart requires that the leader or the
supervisor take an inventory of the resources that are needed for the successful completion of the task
to be delegated. If ample resources are not available, the required resources should be procured at this
step. 5. With all this done, the duties and responsibilities for the task can be delegated. Also, it s
important to establish timelines and deadlines for the task after discussing the same with the employee
to whom the work has been delegated. 6. The delegation process doesn t end right here, there is one
more important thing to do before the delegation process can be considered as complete.

Aversion Therapy Research Paper
Conversion therapy, also known as reparative therapy, is any treatment that aims to change a person s
sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. A heterosexual is a person who is sexually
attracted only to people of the opposite sex, and a homosexual is an individual who is sexually
attracted to others of the same sex. There are different ways to go through conversion therapy.
Conversion therapists use a range of approaches that can include general therapy, prayer, hypnosis, or

Essay On Social Construction Of Race
Society plays a major role in classifying people race, ethnicity, and social treatment. The definition of
race can be put into two categories biological and sociological factors. Race is an ideology that people
use to describe the physical and genetic makeup of an individual. A person racial construction greatly
impacts an individual s identity. This is look as the person skin color, facial bone structure, eyes, and
hair color. Although, there is no basis confirm these ideas, race has been used to determine a person s
health and character. In terms of the sociological factors that defines race is ethnicity. It is the cultural
aspect of a group of people this include their values, traditions, and position in society. The public
laws and policies is what determines an individual s standing in society. The biological and social
factors both work equally to define race.

African Americans. True, it is a problem in the inner cities, but there are reasons for that. Let us look
at the poor education, lack of good job opportunities, and the historical marginalization of minorities

Progressivism was the change development that kept running from the late 19th century through the
main many years of the 20th century, which driving educated people and social reformers in the
United States looked to address the monetary, political, and social inquiries that had emerged with
regards to the quick changes carried with the Industrial Revolution and the development of current
private enterprise in America. The Progressives trusted that these progressions denoted the end of the

Design Of Design Communication And Rhetoric Essay
Whether it is the Blog post by Utile Design, Design Communication and Rhetoric, or the Educational

the lack of education in relation to certain skills that are invaluable in the design field in Architecture
Schools in the United States. These skills include, but are not limited to, well rounded critical
thinking, written and oral, and interpersonal communication skills in relation to both design thinking
and design process. Design Communication and Rhetoric dwells into detail of why such skills are
important, but fails to provide any solution except for a concise census. However, in An Argument for
Argument in Architectural Education the authors state the issue and concern, but also state a solution
in which schools can adapt to meet a new agenda. In the Blog post, the writer analyzes how the
methods in which an individual communicates constantly evolves over the course of the design
process. There are five specific target audiences for how one writes, speaks, and visual conveys an
idea in an architectural setting. First is the self, the originator, designer, and author of the idea, which
contains little to nothing in relation to persuasion, because an idea is only written then as being a
solution to a design problem. Next comes those that are collaborated with, the mode staying the same

The American Dream In The Era Of The American Dream
The American Dream is the opportunity for success, and the ability to achieve prosperity and a better

covered through the 1830s 70s, which brought new values to literature and art, other examples were
transcendentalism and Anti transcendentalism, which were opposites one featuring nature and the

Essay about The Words of the Dying Gaunt
The idea of England as a second paradise in a postlapsarian world was a popular thought in
Shakespeare s day. Not only did Englanders compare their land the to Biblical Eden, but also to
Classical legends that would have flourished in the Renaissance era. The fact that Britain is an island
isolated from the rest of the world invited the comparison of England to mythical islands such as the
Islands of the Blest and Homer s Ogygia (Mackenzie 319). Such comparisons surely originated in the
strong patriotism that thrived in the Elizabethan era. Shakespeare capitalized on this feeling through
his history plays, which both instructed his audience on England s past and fed the patriotic ego of her
citizens (Reese 46). Nowhere does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This warning foreshadows Richard s confiscation of Gaunt s estate and the rebellion staged by
Bullingbrook, Gaunt s son and rightful heir.
The next portion of Gaunt s speech reverberates the idea of England as a second paradise. The image
of England throughout Richard II is not only presented through pictures of glorious landscape and
well tended gardens, but through its citizens, both royal and common (Stauffer 92). Gaunt fluidly but
forcefully presents images of England throughout his speech. He gives a list of qualities in a rhythmic

This royal throne of kings, this sceptered isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself (40 44)
These images present England as embodying physical attributes given by God.

This looks as follows; As you can see, the income tax function lies on top of the original budget
constraint until it reaches £7,475 of consumption. This is because there is no tax for the initial £7,475
as it is a personal allowance. When an extra £35,000 of income is earned (a total income of £42,475),
the tax of 20% reduces the total income to £35,475 of net adjusted income. When the income is
£90,000 which is the maximum the mother can earn, the income tax reduces her income to £63,990
because of the 40% income tax after £35,000 of income. The curve then kinks away to the left at
£7,475, until it reaches an income of £35,475. At this point the curve kinks with a further decrease in
the gradient until it crosses the y axis at £63,990. The child benefits policy currently allocates £20.30

Relationship Between Children And Mothers
The study gathered data from various mother daughter and mothers in law/daughters in law dyads (in
total, 33 daughters, 30 mothers, and 24 mothers in law) in three small western Massachusetts towns to
determine the sources of perceived harmony and conflict in the relationships within boundaries such
as the daughter s motherhood status and geographic proximity to her mother and mother in law. It was
conducted through questionnaires and interviews to garner results that were, respectively, quantitative
and qualitative. The conductors of this study found three areas in which the relationships changed with
the introduction of the third generation. Through interactive involvement, daughters are more likely to
contact their mothers than their mothers in law after they themselves become mothers, though they
would like to have help from both sides of the family and want their children to interact with both
sides equally. With interpersonal boundaries, daughters are more likely to re establish their own bond
with their mothers when asking for advice about child rearing, although mothers in law think of
themselves as in a more maternal role. Finally, relational strain occurs due to the shared attachment
toward the child by its mother and paternal grandmother, which may become a point of tension
between the two as familial ties with grandchildren tend to be fostered through the child s mother. The
data shows a larger divergence in poll answers between the dyads in daughters with

Polar Bear Population Analysis
The current management plans for conservation of polar bears appear to be a concerted effort to
protect the species. However, the effectiveness on a global scale is uncertain as to whether diminishing
habitats will wreak havoc on the polar bear populations in the future. The international agreements and
treaties are important as they recognize common goals and strategies given the multiple nations
involved. Most of these agreements are decades old and do not sufficiently protect polar bear
populations that much. They have been important in creating a framework of hunting and developing

To be effective, these agreements should include an effective form of enforcement, such as an
organizational enforcement authority made up of members from all five nations that have
jurisdictional authority over polar bear preservation. Perhaps something similar to Interpol, but for

international agency could also be used for other conservation efforts for other endangered or
threatened species.
Other components of new international agreements should also address the chief concern for polar
bears. Perhaps this can be another mechanism to assist in promoting the reduction of emissions and
rallying enhanced scientific research objectives to pursue alternative energies between the five Arctic
nations. However, environmental changes affecting the Arctic are not expected to stop in the
immediate future and are fixed for several decades regardless of reductions in emissions and polar
bears must prepare to deal with habitat loss (Laidre, et al., 2015). The sovereignty issue over potential
resources after the ice melts should also be an integral part of these new international agreements.
There should be discussion over restricted industrial development and shipping routes that may affect

Punishment And Punishment In Education
One of the basic human functions is to learn, whether it be a specific school subject or a behavior
through observation. As one grows up, it is important to see how he or she was taught to treat people
good, bad, honest, fair? How can violence be eliminated very early on in development? One form of
learning is through punishment. Many times, punishment is used to inform a child or even an adult to
not do a certain thing again while educating them on what is good or bad behavior considering the
circumstance. Therefore, punishment is not only a teaching tool, but also a process that decreases the
likelihood reoccurrence of a behavior (Hockenbury, S. E., Nolan, S. A, Hockenbury, D. H. 2015). As a
young child, a punishment may have included taking away a desired toy or a treat that we wanted to
obtain, such as going to the movies or getting McDonalds for dinner. It is easy to look back and reflect
on past experiences of punishment that shaped us into who we are today. However, punishment is not
simply a negative consequence of being a child; it can happen to people of all ages. For example, a
punishment can be directed at adults who don t dress properly or arrive late to work. Punishment can
be effective for all age groups because human beings are an imperfect species. It is never too late to
improve one s behavior. Overall, the main purpose of punishment is to stop wrongdoings among all
ages from happening repeatedly. When thinking of punishment regarding psychology,

Song Lyrics To Refrain By Missy Elliot
[Miami Bass beat for 6 seconds] Refrain [Missy Elliott] And dey say, (horn) Verse 1 [Tina] When I
first met you at the movies, my heart was guarded My heart couldn t be unlocked And I couldn t find a
key and it was hard I didn t want to be the same person as my mom But you changed the way I
thought about love and made me purified But then I got a promotion and benefits at my job, and we
become distant I overwork and under budget, and we never listen We never take time and later revisit
arguments And nobody else will do, you fit my heart I daily try to get over you, put you pushing me to
fall Like Stringer I can t take the fall Don t want to go back to the trials, and go from the start Chorus

Why you d break my heart Those words were too harsh Those words were too sharp Why you d tame
my mind You re booty shorts were too tight, you re thong was too tight I wasn t too strong Why you d
break my heart I m on my last lung And dey say (beat) Verse 2 [Tina] I thought we d be together to the
12th of never Turned out we were only together March, April, September I was going for a long shot,
but offense wasn t set up You damaged my heart, being so egotistical You know I go to work, always
about your needs, what I fix for dinner We signed on a contract, so were supposed to play by heart But
you broke the rules, and breached the promise All I want is your back, you made me whole Got to get
your back in my life, you made my home We were too peaceful birds, we didn t have to put each other
in order Now I m going to sing this song until you come back Listen to my heart, you know I was only
right Please satisfy me baby, I ll change my style Don t leave me hopeless, while there s life Don t
break it Chorus [Tina, No Came, and Missy Elliott] Why you d break my heart Those words were too

Impact On Technology
The advancements in technology have significantly altered our daily lives. As generations pass, it is
remarkable how technology has changed drastically as well as our behaviour towards it. On a global
scale, we are collecting many notable achievements through technology, and due to its many benefits,
our exposure to the wide variety of electronics is gradually increasing. In this day and age, we have
utilized technology more than ever before. Using these platforms more frequently has led to both
positive and negative outlooks in our lives. From using technology, we have discovered a myriad of
effective and dismissive situations regarding our lifestyle. For example, we can now conveniently
interact with each other, but at the same time, we also spend too much time being on our technology.
Although technology can disconnect us from our experiences of reality, it can also provide an
abundance of resources to obtain information from, and it unifies us through multiple forms of
mediums. Firstly, technology has detached us from our experiences with our loved ones and our
interests in the moment. By being increasingly submerged in technology, it has created a rift in our
society. Many people, as stated by Alexandra Tendler of The Odyssey Online, are becoming more and
more immersed in a digital network that is webbed into every aspect of our daily lives. In other words,
we are unaware of how much of our daily actions revolve around technology, and how significantly it

The Polish And African Americans
Over many generations long before our creation were our ancestors. They had many trials and long
suffering to endure. Many travelled and migrated from place to place to gain freedom. Some of our
ancestors were captured and became slaves. This was not only for African American, American
Indians, Hispanics, Asian Americans, Middle Easterners, North West, South and East Europeans. It
was for all minority groups, from religion to sex gender, women, the elderly and people with
disabilities. Here is one example of the Polish Americans groups and how they were affected; and
what happened or changed over time in the process of migration to America.
Polish Americans also known as Poles, came over to the United States around the 19th and 20th ...

Although, many Polish came to the U.S. unwillingly many felt that work was more important than
education. During, that time many spoke West Slavic and English. Mainly, all of the Polish American
children ranging from ages 8 through 12 have minimum schooling. Their practice was first
communion, school at a minimum of two years and then work. It was strongly felt that the U. S.
education was a waste of time and could potentially become dangerous to undermine the traditional
ways of life, instead of being brain washed by American life. Polish did not want to be bothered by the
educational system providing children with strict morals and disciplined atmospheres; a high school
diploma was the least of their worries a paycheck meant more.
(Wikipedia, 2015) During the time from 1795 to 1918 the Polish state did not exist and all of its
borders were destroyed during World War I and World War II. In 1940 this caused 50% of the Polish
to marry other American ethnics with no exemptions. Many immigrant families found adjusting was
too difficult which then lead to crime, delinquency, divorce, desertion, prostitution, and economic
dependence; leading to family disorganization. Therefore, not many Polish desired assimilation, but
also wanted churches to become a blended staunch Roman Catholics which is Polish culture. This was
to include a full social service available to assist immigrants in becoming acculturated as it did in their
previous churches for the

Gap s strategy is to close all stores that are underperforming in order to cut costs. They will also spend more money on advertising and marketing to a younger market and to minorities such as Hispanics, Asians, and African Americans. The fact that Britain is an island isolated from the rest of the world invited the comparison of England to mythical islands such as the Islands of the Blest and Homer s Ogygia (Mackenzie 319). This is because there is no tax for the initial £7,475 as it is a personal allowance. When an extra £35,000 of income is earned (a total income of £42,475), the tax of 20% reduces the total income to £35,475 of net adjusted income. When the income is £90,000 which is the maximum the mother can earn, the income tax reduces her income to £63,990 because of the 40% income tax after £35,000 of income. The curve then kinks away to the left at £7,475, until it reaches an income of £35,475. At this point the curve kinks with a further decrease in the gradient until it crosses the y axis at £63,990. It was conducted through questionnaires and interviews to garner results that were, respectively, quantitative and qualitative. The conductors of this study found three areas in which the relationships changed with the introduction of the third generation. Through interactive involvement, daughters are more likely to contact their mothers than their mothers in law after they themselves become mothers, though they would like to have help from both sides of the family and want their children to interact with both sides equally. With interpersonal boundaries, daughters are more likely to re establish their own bond with their mothers when asking for advice about child rearing, although mothers in law think of themselves as in a more maternal role. Finally, relational strain occurs due to the shared attachment toward the child by its mother and paternal grandmother, which may become a point of tension between the two as familial ties with grandchildren tend to be fostered through the child s mother. As one grows up, it is important to see how he or she was taught to treat people good, bad, honest, fair? How can violence be eliminated very early on in development? One form of learning is through punishment. Many times, punishment is used to inform a child or even an adult to not do a certain thing again while educating them on what is good or bad behavior considering the circumstance. Therefore, punishment is not only a teaching tool, but also a process that decreases the likelihood reoccurrence of a behavior (Hockenbury, S. E., Nolan, S. A, Hockenbury, D. H. 2015). As a young child, a punishment may have included taking away a desired toy or a treat that we wanted to obtain, such as going to the movies or getting McDonalds for dinner.
