SRP report As a left hander, I have always wondered what makes us different. As a child it made
no sense to me, people telling me I wrote with the wrong hand or looking at my hand in
amazement asking How do you do that!?!?! I always saw it as something to show off, a little
peculiarity that made me unique. As I grew older, the challenges got harder. In year two we tried
the new game called hockey that looked really fun only to be told that I had to hold the stick in
my right hand, which made me pretty much hopeless to my team. My pencil grip was atrocious,
and nobody could properly teach me how to hold it in such a combination where I could see what
I was writing but also hold it correctly and comfortably (which I have only learnt this year in year
nine). Not to mention the tasks of scissors, white out, dinner etiquette, bumping elbows when
writing or eating, not being able to copy sports demonstrations, right handed desks, and the part that
hurt the most, my librarian always telling my class the cruel stories of past treatment to left
handers. But because of my family s support from a young age, I always saw this small trait as

transferred to a bar graph to show the students the same information in a different format.
The line graph was introduced at the end of third grade, but not in much detail. In this edition, the
line graph is used to display a person s height from birth to 10 years of age.
The circle graph, also known as a pie chart or graph, was introduced after the line graph. The
example in the book was someone keeping track and showing how they spend their day. This is a
good example of how to get the students involved. They could easily keep a schedule of their day
and make a circle graph. That sounds like a great extra credit project to me.
Other skills introduced in this book includes using tally marks to collect the data for your charts,
using number lines to introduce negative and positive numbers, and using that number line to solve
problems.

Action is rather straightforward from the outset. Robeson is presenting an empowering piece, which
has several subsections relating to the central theme of collectivized action on the behalf of black
people. One of the more interesting aspects of this chapter comes from the way in which
Robeson calls for black people to use their agency to better their position. From the outset
Robeson states, I say that Negro action can be decisive. I say that we ourselves have the power to
end terror and to win for ourselves peace and security throughout the land (Robeson, 90). The
interesting aspect of this quote is the fact that the paragraph proceeding it establishes the historical
precedent of blacks not necessarily enacting the full degree of their agency. However, Robeson s

criticise violent and discriminatory human nature through various techniques. Remembering
Babylon takes place in 19th Century Queensland following a young British man, Gemmy Fairley,
who was thrown overboard a ship and has grown up with aboriginals for sixteen years, and his
relationship with the new settlers. The Inheritorsfollows a journey of a peaceful Neanderthaltribe
