My Experience At The Hamburg Airport
It is a Saturday ,about 4 o clock in the morning, on the way to the Hamburg airport. I am with my
parents and we just left the hotel. I am about to leave Germany and my family to play basketball
in Texas and also to go to college.
I made this decision half a year ago. I signed with a scholarship agency, and a coach from Texas
contacted me the last week before the deadline of recruiting. Therefore, everything was
complicated. I had to prepare, do paperwork, take English tests, and several other things in two
and a half ,months. One month before I had to take the flight, I thought I had finished
everything; unfortunately, that wasn t the case. The coach and the people working for the
scholarship agency told me I had to get my Visa on my own, and also book the flight myself. I
was sure they told me that they would help me, but that wasn t the case. It came to the point that
I had to do all this myself. It was tough. It seemed everything was against me. The people
working at the embassy told me to get the visa before booking a flight. The people working at
the college and told me to book the flight and then get the visa. I didn t know what to do ,but my
parents encouraged me to keep on going and supported me in every point. On the Wednesday
before my flight, my mother and I drove to the embassy in Berlin to get my Visa. There was no
earlier appointment, therefore I was worried that I wouldn t get my visa and everything I did was
for nothing. My mother booked a hotel

Soccer Vs Neo Colonialism
Every year I feel an all too familiar itch. Some people may think I need to see a doctor, but I
know that the only real cure is to sit on my couch in front of my large screened TV with some
kind of greasy potato product and barley fermented beverage. The dose is to be administered
every week between the hours of 1 PM EST on Sunday until 1 am Tuesday morning. That s right,
folks. I ve got a itch, and the only cure is more NFL football. When September rolls around and
the weather becomes seasonably cooler, the leaves on the trees begin to change color, the air
becomes crisper and has a distinguishable smell that can only be experienced and not described.
The days become shorter, the weeks feel longer and the longing begins for the weekend when...

As a result, Africa s cultural identity has been what sociologist Ulf Hannerz calls creolized (6),
which, as seen in the history of soccer, can be yet another facet for neo colonialism. From these
roots of colonialism and neo colonialism grew the sport of soccer. Initially, in the 1860s it was
introduced by Britain in South Africa (Armstrong Football 8) and other countries, such as France
and Portugal, followed in other regions. Associated colonizing individuals and groups including
missionaries, teachers, soldiers, and other colonial settlers acted as prime catalysts (8). Africans
would watch white Europeans play and then apply what they learned in their own local township
games using bundles of rags as makeshift balls (9). Teams and leagues were formed, as were
rivalries, different styles of play, and different philosophies on the game. In 1923, African football
began to be recognized internationally as a rising power when Egypt was accepted into the
FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and three more national associations
(Sudan, South Africa, and Ethiopia) were later accepted, until 1957 when the ConfГ©dГ©ration
Africaine de Football (CAF) was founded (9). Today, CAF has grown into a 52 member
association, the largest continental governing body in the world (9). African soccer seemed

Eye Of The Beholder Rhetorical Analysis
An awful lot of people come to college with this strange idea that there s no longer segregation in
America s schools, that our schools are basically equal; neither of these things is true. Jonathan
Kozol. The author of the script Eye of the Beholder , Rod Serling, puts his point out there about
how segregation is going on all around us and it will never stop. The audience he is trying to
portray his message to is everyone. He wants to make them aware of the segregation that is still
going on today. Through the use of diction and experience, the author uses pathos, logos, and ethos
to show that segregation still goes on today and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To begin
with, the author uses diction to apply pathos into the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through showing how ridiculed Janet Tyler is, he shows how wrong segregation is. This gives
reasonableness to his argument because he shows that segregation doesn t make sense. Just
because someone has a feature that they can t help and it is different than the majority of the
population doesn t mean they should be shunned, ridiculed or pushed away. By describing how
her features were human looking, which is normal for us, compared to the pig like faces
everyone else had, which is abnormal to us, he drives his point home that beauty is in the eye of
the beholder. The point that Serling was trying to make was that as a human population we look
at each other and usually think nothing of it and if we someone that has different features that
would be undesirable to us, we regard it is ugly and repulsive. That is how the pig faced people
thought of Janet Tyler. In a portion of the script where Leader is talking on the screen, he talks
about how everything must be the same. He says, We know now that there must be a single
purpose, a single norm, a single approach, a single entity of people, a single virtue, a single
morality, a single frame of reference, a single philosophy of government. We must cut out all that
is different like a cancerous filth! (Serling). While we would have seen her as a regular normal
looking person and in some aspects beautiful, the pig faced people saw her as

Christian Worldview Origin
Introduction This critical thinking paper will address five question pertaining to origin, identity
both meaning and purpose, morality and destiny. In congruently a comparison between the Hindus,
and the Christian worldviews. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the
word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1, KJV). These are foundational words from
the Christian Bible, and the Christian worldview. A posed to, Hinduism, which has no founder, yet
many natives in India is faithful to it beliefs.
Hinduism: Origin The Hindus say that Brahma is the first god in the Hindu triumvirate, or
trimurti. The triumvirate consists of three gods who are responsible for the creation, upkeep and
destruction of the world (Who is Brahma, 2009). The origin of Hinduism is recorded as early as
1500 B.C. in India. It is said that Hinduism is a polytheistic and ritualistic religion that requires
strict meditation and obedience.
How Did Life Begin.
Hinduism says that the Lord Brahma is creator of the universe, while the other two gods are part
of the triumvirate. The worldview of the Hindu belief is that there are multiple gods. One god,
Brahma created the universe, another, Vishnu is the sustainer of creation, and Shiva is the
destroyer of life. In contrast, Christianity worldview is there is one triune God, God the Father,
God the Son, God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Does Elie Wiesel Use Of Figurative Language In Night
Figurative Language in Night
The book night by Elie Wiesel has a lot of figurative language in it; almost all of the figurative
language used has its own significance and gives you more information on how bad life was
when you were a Jew in the 1940 s. There are eighty of you in the wagon, added the German
officer. If anyone is missing. You ll all be shot, like dogs... This simile has a very big impact and
shows how the Jews were treated. The jews being compared to dogs and the Germans almost are
saying how easy it would be for them to kill all of them if anyone is missing. This creates such a
big impact because the inhumane treatment from this point on just snowballed continuing to get
worse. The next piece of figurative language is personification; ... Show more content on

There was nothing else to say. your words can t actually choke you and paralyze your lips but the
feeling of being so scared can also with such a dry throat trying to speak practically felt impossible.
I believe that Elie Wiesel used this in the book to show how when your that scared and your
throats that dry you cant speak, words are almost impossible to form and your lips feel like they
cant move to make what you re saying eligible. A prolonged whistle pierced the air. also
personification just gives a vivid description of how loud and drawn out that whistle was. Elie
Wiesel used this to show that in the midst of everything when that whistle blew it was long and
loud that it got everyone s attention. You could also bring this back to the first piece of figurative
language and say how they would be shot like dogs, they are also treated like dogs controlled by
whistles. The last piece of figurative language; My heart was about to burst. There. I was face to
face with the Angel of Death... . This hyperbole almost makes your heart race knowing everything
that s going on, that these are what he thought were his last moments knowing he was with

The Importance Of Diversity In New York University
New York University is a school that amazes me in every aspect. With its WRITE QUALITIES.
Nonetheless, the location of the school is what takes my breath away New York City. To me, the
city is a mystifying place left to be explored by its many inhabitants; a place of discovery,
wonder, excitement, confusion, and opportunities. Diversity is a huge part of NYU as its student
body contains numerous international students and people of color. The chance to learn about
different cultures and ideas inspires me as the diversity doesn t stop at the school s buildings. It
continues into every borough of the city and would allow me to connect with unique people and

taxable pay, this principle has been effective all throughout the existence of churches. Churches are
identified as non profit as well as charitable organizations. With the following two labels a fixed as a
part of their identify they would be granted with the opportunity to be exonerate from paying
particular taxes. With their opportunity to be excluded from contributing taxable money to the

Its unfair to other non exempt organizations that follow the rules that proceed with their title, to
be cheated by another who twists the limitations placed on them. Larry Wood the Durham town
administrator touches on the unfairness portrayed. In the newspaper piece written by Laura A.
KIernan titled Battle over core service tax heats up: [City Edition] Wood demonstrates why this
can be viewed as a struggle. Wood said UNH has a number of tax exempt properties, including a
bookstore run by Barnes and Noble, and the New England Center, which is a hotel and restaurant,
which he says should not have be tax exempt. He also said that children of married students who
live in tax exempt university housing are costing the town schools system $7,400 apiece each year.
We feel that s not fair. Wood s words highlight on the fact that its not only unfair due to stretching
the regulations, in addition they are costing us money in the process. In cohesion with the previous
disadvantage to the community another unbeneficial effect caused by churches is due to the
growth in numbers of organizations and lack of tax individual tax payer are forced to pick up the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Patrick Henry Speech
Patrick Henry was an American attorney and politician in Virginia during the 1700 s. Henry is
most famously known for a speech he gave to the Second Virginia Convention in 1750. In his
speech, Henry uses pathos to connect with the convention by utilizing their religious and social
beliefs. He also uses anaphora and juxtaposition in order to persuade the Second Virginia
Convention to join the Revolutionary War. What makes Henry s speech so persuasive is his use
of pathos in order to justify his argument. One particularly evoking moment in the eye s of his
audience would be when he says, fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God . Virginia
colonists were primarily members of the Church of Englandand looked down upon those who

Isaac And Ishmael In The 1972 Munich Olympics
The disaster that occurred during the 1972 Munich Olympics can be looked upon as another
casualty in the cultural and political warfare that has been going on hundreds, maybe thousands,
of years between the Arabic and Israeli communities. It can be seen that this warfare has been
going on throughout biblical times. An example of this can be seen in the story of Esther,
Queen of Persia or dating back as far as the story of Isaac and Ishmael. The story of Isaac and
Ishmael can be found in the book of Genesis in the Bible. The story of Isaac and Ishmael is that
Isaac was the true son of Abraham and Ishmael was his illegitimate son. Isaac s mother, Sarah,
felt threatened by Ishmael s presence so she banished him and his mother from their tribe. When
this happened, Isaac vowed to have his revenge on the descendents of Isaac. This relates to the
Israeli and Arabic conflict because the descendents of Ishmael are the Arabic people and the
children of Isaac are the people of Israel. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Disappearance Of The Roanoke Colony
The Roanoke Colony was a colony that seemed to disappear in 1950. There are many theories
about what happened to the colony, but the theory that they colonized into other settlements
around them is the most probable. The disappearance of the colony is why it earned the name
the lost colony In 1584 on March 25th, Queen Elizabeth told Sir Walter Raleigh to start a colony
in North america. Raleigh started his expedition with Philip Amadas and Arthur Barlowe to start
and explore the eastern coast of North America on April 27, 1584. They ended up arriving on
July 4th and created relations with the locals, the Secotans and Croatans. They then returned to
England, however, Raleigh was not done. He organized a second expedition that was led by Sir
Richard Grenville. Grenville departed on April 9, 1585 with 5 main ships. They were all to meet
up in Puerto Rico. Then in 1587 Raleigh had 100 or so colonists to start the Roanoke colonybut
eventually the ran out of supplies. Raleigh and John Watts went on an expedition and agreed to stop

Dark Matter Essay
There is perhaps no current problem of greater importance to astrophysics and cosmology than that
of quot;dark matter quot;. The controversy, as the name implies, is centered on the notion that there
may exist an enormous amount of matter in the Universe that cannot be detected from the light that
it emits. The evidence of darkmatter is from the motions of astronomical objects, specifically
stellar, galactic, and galaxy cluster/supercluster observations.
The basic argument is that if we measure velocities in some region, then there has to be enough
mass there for gravity to stop all the objects from flying apart. When such velocity measurements
are done on large scales, it turns out that the amount of inferred mass is much more than ... Show

many others. Of these, researchers have detected only neutrinos and whether neutrinos have any

and if one has a mass in the correct range, then that particle might pervade the universe and
constitute dark matter.
The MACHO Project is a collaboration between scientists at the Mt. Stromlo amp; Siding Spring

objects have come to be known as MACHOs, for MAssive Compact Halo Objects. The signature
of these objects is the occasional amplification of the light from extragalactic stars by the
gravitational lens effect. The amplification can be large, but events are extremely rare: it is
necessary to monitor photometrically several million stars for a period of years in order to obtain a
useful detection rate. For this purpose they must have built a two channel system that employs eight

Sexual Intercourse Within The Human Species
Introduction Sexual intercourse is an intriguing, yet touchy subject to most individuals. There are
nearly as many different beliefs in regards to the act of sex as there are for something as
prominent and controversial as religion. It is a topic that the majority of individuals do not want to
discuss, yet it is something that the majority of everyone is intrigued about. Throughout this
research paper we will take a closer look at sexual intercoursewithin the human species by
attempting to define what sex is, find out who partakes in this deed, determine when it is typically
done, and finally reveal why it is done.
What Is Sex? While the title begins with the pronoun who, not the pronoun what, it will be much

All of these communications assume that the speakers and listeners share a definition of sex that is
clear, consistent across situations, and unbiased by personal motives. In fact, there is limited
research evaluating individuals definitions of sex, and the research that does exist seems based on
implicit assumptions that may be problematic in some ways. (Peterson Muehlenhard, 2007, p. 256
268)
This statement is implying that they back the notion that the definition of sex is still unknown;
one hundred different individuals would give you one hundred different definitions of the
enigmatic term sex . Additionally, this confusion is established in an article by Judith Mackay
(2011) when she states that sex research, where it exists, is usually fertility related rather than
sex oriented. Even definitions vary. There is no agreed definition of sex counseling, obscenity, or
even what people mean by the term sex, all making comparable analysis difficult. But there is no
way that we could go any further into this research without establishing a set definition, so the
misperception must end now. For the sake of this research paper, sex will be defined as any
vaginal, anal, or oral intercourse between two or more individuals. These three different forms of
sex are often involved in sexual intercourse, but these terms can be ambiguous to many customary
individuals. Each of these different forms of sex varies from one another, all offering something

When Loki brought the little white fur ball home, he was nervous about how well they would

country s economy because it will be providing additional jobs. As I read through the article I

it may seem like a terrible job to have, it is the only thing keeping people from from living in
poverty. The article was valuable because Kristof presents numerous facts and powerful stories

plastic cups. I agree with Kristof, the best way to help people in third world countries is to support

most help is needed. People working in sweatshops will be making more money than they could be

Peace Is Complex And Multi Faceted. Peace
The notion of peace is complex and multi faceted. Peace is not merely the absence of hostility,

ideology a path to peace. As such, Christianity and Islam, sharing a common foundation as
traditions of peace, strive to promote and create this through both their adherents personal lives,
and indeed throughout the world. In the Christian tradition, it is believed that inner peace is
essential to the realisation of peace on Earth; the concept of inner, spiritual peace as literally
embodied in the person and teachings of Jesus Christ ,1 as he told the disciples In me you may
have peace (John 16:33). Jesus extended peace to those who were in strife, and required us to
follow him by ...making every effort to live in peace and harmony with all men (Hebrews 12:14).

Why London Is Better Than Doha
In most measurable areas, London has a clear advantages over Doha. London has much more
population than Doha. Also, London is much bigger in size than Doha which means that there are
more urban cities than Doha which is a clear advantage. But on the other hand, Doha is more
modern than London which is an old citybut there are attractions. Moreover, Doha has less
population but it is an advantage because the income of a per capita is higher and there is less
unemployment and homeless citizens.
Each of these cities has unique thigs that attract visitors. Doha has deserts with sand dunes that
tourists can visit and practice activities. Also, Doha has beaches as it is a semi island which also

The possibility of economic gains and losses is also considered, meaning a party with a
considerable investment in the business (beyond their labour) is generally considered to be an
independent contractor rather than an employee. The regularity of employment is another key
factor since if a party works solely for one employer, the party is considered to be an employee
whereas if a party habitually works for various employers, the party is considered to be a
contractor. An employee typically performs work personally, while an independent contractor
may possibly appoint the work to employees or, in some cases, outside subcontractors. The legal
status of the worker is taken into account because if the worker as incorporated their own
business and carries out the contract under the business name, the worker would more than likely
be viewed as an independent contractor. In consideration of public image, the relationship will
bear a resemblance to employee status if the worker s impression to their coworkers and the
general public is reflective of a regular employee. In regard to official contractual portrayals of
employment relationships, courts look at the economic realities of the relationship in use.
Additionally, there is no Canadian law that prevents any parties employed part time, casually, at
home, or through an employment agency from being viewed as an employee (England, 2008, pp.

Megan s Law Essay
Megan s Law

Abstract
Megan Kanka was raped and murdered by her neighbor in 1994. The Kanka s were not aware
that they had been living across from a sex offender. In order to make the public more aware, the
Kanka s started a movement to make Megan s Law . Megan s Law requires for sex offenders to
register online so that the public is aware of their location. The rules for Megan s Law varies
among states, some are more lenient while others are strict. Megan s Law came with several
problems. There was an increase in the public s anxiety over sex crimes which led to harassment

My Journey With And Through Sldp R
My Journey with and through SLDP R I will never forget my enrollment meeting for SLDP R; I
didn t think I could hear it enough SLDP is an opportunity, not a punishment. I didn t question
this notion, but I don t think I really understood it either. Over a year later I can say that I do
understand. I will be the first person to tell anyone how much SLDP allowed me to evolve
through self discovery and reflection. I am so much more in touch with myself, where I started,
where I have come to, and where I need to go from here. I learned so much about the prestige of
being in the Army. Dawning this uniform every day comes with significant weight. This isn t
limited in scope to General Officers, or those in public relations it extends to every member of
the organization. Everything you do is reflective of the Army, directly or indirectly and by being
unprofessional you are compromising the trust the organization has put in you. It is important to
remain cognizant of the fact that regardless of who we are with or where we are we bear the
burden of being an ambassador of the Army and each of its values. Coming into SLDP my
biggest issue was succumbence to external pressure. It is so important for every individual to
have deeply rooted, unwavering values I didn t have this. I wasn t fully committed to the process
of molding myself into someone worthy of being a US Army Officer. I saw things around me that I

Business Administration ( Fredericton ) Should Pursue...
Purpose:
The purpose of this memo is to share my thoughts and recommendations with my team member
whether the UNB Faculty of Business Administration (Fredericton) should pursue third party
accreditations as part of its strategy.
Summary:
Based on the discussions, analyses and interviews, the Faculty of Business Administration
(Fredericton) faces real challenges whether they should pursue third party accreditations in
particular the well known AACSB accreditation in light of the following points:
1)UNB Faculty of Business Administration (Saint John) is already working on achieving the
AACSB accreditation,
2)The direct and indirect benefits and costs of AACSB accreditation,
3)The recent changes in the AACSB Accreditation Standards for Business and Accounting,
4)The impact and view of the stakeholders on the accreditation value, and
5)The consideration of the being accredited by AACSB on the short and long term strategy of the
Faculty of Business Administration (Fredericton).
The final decision in regard to AACSB accreditation should take into consideration the overall cost
/benefit for all stakeholders, the impact on long term for the Faculty of Business Administration
(Fredericton), and how this initiative will support the strategic direction and plan. Discussion:
The current situation: On January 3, 2014, UNB Faculty of Business Administration (Saint John)
became a member of AACSB. Although joining the AACSB does not confer accreditation and

Gerard Jones Violent Media Is Good For Kids
Violent Media Is Good for Kids
Violent Media is Good for Kids, written by Gerard Jones, is an interesting argument about the
positive aspects of violent media. He has narrated his own experience as a child about the impact
of violent media. Jones has further developed his argument to convince parents about the
importance of violent media by noting that exposing kids to violent media helps the kids to
overcome their fear. Jones is focused on parents and teachers, both of whom restricts the exposure
of kids to violent media. He also notes the skeptical thinking, which argues that violent media have
a negative impression on kids. His argument is catchy and strong based on his own realizations of
the world and experience. Let us discuss how he has made the argument realistic.
The first evidence that Jones used to convince his audiences is his own story. He narrates his own
story, which is obviously from his real experience after getting exposed to the violent cartoon
character Hulk. As Jones illustrates his anecdote, when he was a child, his fear and feelings were
suppressed under a decent small boy posture and his teachers and parents created a wall between
him and the society. He was forbidden to watch any violent thing and to get mingled with growing
up boys to stay away from negative things. Then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Four phases of the Campaign
Clearing Leyte Gulf
The plan for the ground operations in the capture of Leyte comprised four main phases. Phase One
covered minor preliminary landings to secure the small islands lying across the entrance to Leyte
Gulf. Phase Two included the main amphibious assaults on Leyte from Dulag to Tacloban and
called for the seizure of the airstrip, an advance through Leyte Valley, and the opening of San
Juanico and Panaon Straits. Phase Three consisted of the necessary overland and shore to shore
operations to complete the capture of Leyte and the seizure of southern Samar. Phase Four
contemplated the occupation of the remainder of Samar and the further neutralization of enemy
positions in the Visayas.
The first landings to mark the invasion of the Philippines were made on three small islands which
guarded the eastern approaches to Leyte Gulf. Despite cyclonic storms and heavy seas, elements
of the 6th Ranger Battalion, augmented by one company of the 21st Infantry, went ashore on
Suluan and Dinagat Islands on 17 October 1944. Heavy mists shrouded their approach and they
were opposed only by the rough surf and battering winds. Homonhon Island was occupied the next
day. All three islands were quickly cleared. of small enemy garrisons and radio installations while

Nurse-Patient Communication Journal Analysis
The journal that I chose to read was Effect Of Communication On Nurse Patient Relationship In
National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos, Arungwa. This journal demonstrates the importance
of nurse patient communication and how nurse patient communication effects the outcomes of the
patient care. Nurse patient communicationinvolves more than just words being exchanged between
two or more people. Nurse patient communication needs to exhibit feelings and recognition of those
feelings so that the patient knows that their feelings have been recognized. According to this
journal, most patients stated that their nurses initiated conversation, listened attentively but did not
show empathy or see the situation from the patients point of view. By not showing empathy or
looking at the situation from the patients point of view, patients thought that nurses did not have
effective therapeutic communication skills. They also thought that the feedback from the nurses
was also lacking which in return made the patients more reluctant to share information.... Show

Factors That Regulate Expression Of Stress Responsive...
Science I Term Paper
The research paper that this term paper is based on is Interactions Among Plant Transcription
Factors Regulating Expression of Stress responsive Genes, Sony Malhotra and R. Sowdhamini,
National Center for Biological Sciences, June 2014, Bioinformatics and Biology Insights.
Abstract:
Plants are known to respond to abiotic stress by up or down regulating their genes. This is done by
activating transcription factors. It is known that these transcription factors, though they have DNA
binding domains, interact amongst each other for the regulation of gene production. In order to find
out which transcription factors interact and how, the research uses genetic and molecular structure
information available in databases and computationally analyses the data. The factors that lead to
the conclusion of interaction between transcription factors includes spatial proximity and possible
interaction poses. Molecular docking is used to predict the interaction poses and DockScore is a
scoring system used to rank the interaction poses.
Introduction:
Plants are immobile and therefore need mechanisms to counteract stresses that they face from their
environment. Cold, high light, drought, salinity, abscisic acid, rehydration and combination of
stresses like cold drought salt stress are common abiotic stresses that plants encounter. In order to
deal with these stresses, plants either up regulate or down regulate their genes; that is, they increase
the production of

Impacts of Climate Change on Australia Alps’ Ski Industry
The changing nature of snow cover as a result of alpine climate change is a modern phenomenon
that climate scientists are beginning to understand. Declining snow depth and duration have serious
implications for Australia s ski industry, in particular the longevity of the industry. This essay
discusses the impacts of alpine climate change on snowcover, adaption strategies to sustain the
industry s economy as well as the unsustainable nature of snowmaking as a long term solution.
Limitations on water and energy resource make snowmaking problematic as a substitute for natural
snow. The essay highlights the unsustainability of snowmaking as a short term solution, and raises
concerns of the longevity of the ski industry.
Currently, the Australian ski industry comprises of ten operational ski resorts (Figure 1) with
0.15% of the continent (Green and Pickering 2009, p. 271) regularly receiving snow due to the low
attitude of mountains. Consequently, decline in snow cover on top of limited snow availability
pose significant difficulties to the longevity of the ski industry.

The Importance Of Unconditional Love
Love immediately evokes mental images of lovers pledging their undying love to one another, or
a mother cradling their child. These images are indeed loved, however when people attach the
word unconditional to love, it becomes a prevalent falsehood in both literature and man s history.
Oedipus by Sophocles, where a man s incest and murder filled origins lead to his demise, and
Medea, whose title character decimates all who have wronged her, by Euripides are prime
examples of how there are some conditions, caused by ego, selfishness, and competition, that love
just cannot survive. Although some would argue that people can love without stipulations, it is
clear that no one is capable of unconditional love because to love someone is an action and people s
actions are dictated by self service.
A competitive instinct is one of the factors that hamper an individual s ability to offer love without
inhibition.According to Richard Grigg, author of the article Evolution s Error: How Human Nature
Went Awry from The Humanist, states A competitive streak was especially beneficial at a time
when humans were regularly faced with a challenge such as scarce food resources. But that
competitive impulse, to take but one example of our animal instincts, frequently undoes us in
contemporary human society. . The inherent nature of mankind means that a competitive nature
inevitably breeds a mentality that cannot stand to lose. This carries over into the realm of love as

Picnics Essay
An Essay On Picnics
Picnics are a pleasant diversion. They break the monotony of life. They bring into one s daily
life a touch of variety. They carry us away from the world of our daily existence into a world that
is different. They may be said to touch the prose of life with the charm of poetry. The release the
springs of joy held down by the burden of duties and responsibilities. Hence they are often a
refreshing tonic.
Picnics are of various kinds. One may have a picnic with one s family. This is not very common in
Indian households. Here domestic from the dreariness of perpetual domesticity. And yet perhaps it
is likely to be the pleasantest. The relationship between parents and children, between brothers and

surprise it startles us out of our habitual routine; it bring out the very best in each of us; and we

The Loss Of Innocence In Elie Wiesel s Night
Loss of innocence is a change in a person s behaviors, beliefs, or perspectives as a result of
experience. The theme of loss of innocence is often seen in not only literature, but also everyday
life. During the Holocaust, many Jewish children were forced into concentration camps, where they
endured eye opening experiences that forced them to lose their innocence. In the memoir, Night,
Elie Wieselwrites about the experiences that caused him to lose his innocence in the concentration
camps. At the age of fifteen, Elie was removed from his home and forced into a concentration camp
with only his father left. Being in the concentration camp, Elie has witnessed and experienced many
awful things that normal teens generally do not go through in life. Through these series of cruel
events, Elie Wiesel experienced a loss of innocence in which caused desentization from the brutal
events happening around him, caused his loss of hope in humanity, and changed his religious faith.
One event that leads to Wiesel s loss of innocence is when he witnesses Idek beat his father with a
metal bar and remained silent about it. This event contributes to Wiesel s loss of innocence
because he lacked emotion during the brutal beating against his father. During the Buna camp, Elie
s father was doing a poor job, which resulted in Idek s father beating his father with a metal bar.
Elie thought to himself, I had watched it all happening without moving. I kept silent. In fact, I
thought of stealing away

The Battle Of Churchill As A Scapegoat For The Failure
As history unfolded, the Dardanelles offensive failed, but the ground invasion plans for
Gallipoli went ahead as planned. By the end of the campaign, massive amounts of lives had been
lost on the British side, and it was a decisive failure. Dardanelles and Gallipoli were very much a
prime example of something Churchill would do over and over again: see positives, but not
negatives or consequences, only possibilities. These campaigns were the end of Churchill
politically for a time, along with the Asquith government. Asquith was forced to form a wartime
coalition government with the Conservatives, who demanded the resignation of Churchill. While
Churchill became a scapegoat for the failure, while he did play some part in it, everyone had
seem to forgotten the roles of Asquith, Kitchener, and everyone else involved in the planning of
this military disaster. While he heavily mourned the loss of his position, Churchill moved on. He
journeyed to France, intent on returning to his soldier days. Sir John French offered him the
comfort post of an aid or a commander of a brigade at the front. Churchill chose the second option,
but only after he gained experience beforehand. He then chose to be assigned to the Grenadier
Guards, Second Battalion. This was his first true experience with the horrors of trench warfare. The
unit was eventually withdrawn and Churchill expected to get command of a brigade. Asquith later
crushes this, afraid of the consequences of giving the still despised

Space and Mars s Habitability
Synopsis: This research involves discovering how Martian astronauts might deal with their
supplies during a long term mission to Mars and on Mars. The goal is to show that people can
develop technologies to help humans survive in space and on Mars in the future, such as
producing food, recycling water and air, and storing energy. The important technology is the
Controlled Ecological Life Support System (CELSS) that can help in dealing with the supply
issues as well as some possible methods to make energy on Mars. The overall approach of this
mission is to create background knowledge about space habitability for humans in the manned
mission to Mars. Upon researching this issue, I have found that with such powers of invention

The weight of those supplies affects the efficiency of a launch. It is too heavy for the spacecraft to
take off and overcome the gravitational pull of the Earth to get into space. We know that
astronauts traveling to Mars would not be able to stay for a couple days or weeks like the Apollo
space mission. Rather, the Martian astronauts will need to remain in space at least one to three
years during the mission (NASA 2012). If we spend more than nine months in space, we have to
build a shelter which can protect the astronauts from being exposure to radiation risk from the
Sun (NASA N.d.a). Therefore, we need to have good shielding, such as water and cement, but
they are very heavy. Additionally, the astronauts have to bring food, drinking water, air, clothes,
medical supplies, and other things that they need for the mission. All of these things added up
together will take about three million pounds. That is infeasible for them to make it all at once
because a spacecraft just only lift fifty thousand pounds against the Earth s gravity into space. So,
they have to make sixty launches for their supplies to be on Mars. It takes a longer time and costs
a lot of money (NASA N.d.a).
Therefore, astronauts can just bring with them some canned foods that are dehydrated and
preserved to keep the foods for a long time and to save weight for the spacecraft (NASA 2012).
Also, soybeans and wheat are suitable because they are light weight, very nutritious, and take a
small amount of

Limited high altitude plants are available for any type of garden including a rock garden. At
high altitude, some plants can burn their leaves easily because they re closer to the sun. Many
rock garden plants that are listed as perennials at sea level, are actually annuals at high altitude.
A high altitude rock garden is one of the simplest gardens to create and can make a not so good
looking area of your yard, come alive with plants and rocks. The ideal location for a high altitude
rock garden is a natural slope such as those found at the side or rear of a house. A high altitude

for neutral zones. Vowell and her father both share the trait of a messy work area, but in their
own way. Her father s work area, in the shop, consisted of a museum of death, that displayed
antler from deer that he had previously shot and metal shavings from ammunition covering the
surface of the floor. Vowell spent her free time in the music room, which had musical
instruments and staff paper covering her available surfaces. Vowell decided her opinion on all
firearms when she was six years old. After shooting it once, she knew that guns were not made
for her use. She disliked the gun so much that she whispered to it the gun as if it were a
possession of Satan as soon as it went off. Years later her father completed a replica of the Big
Horn Gun. It was a cannonthat was used by white merchants

Arizona Laws Are Used For Determine Spousal Maintenance,...
Arizona laws are used to determine spousal maintenance, child support and family support
awards and amounts. In some cases, the court finds a temporary family support award
appropriate. Laws and specifications regarding the handling of awards varies when comparing
awards as set down in a final Decree to a temporary family support award. This differences
between how the two types of financial awards are handled can lead to difficulties in interpreting
the law as pertaining to the situation at hand. Such seemed to be the case with Maximov v.
Maximov.
Background of the Case: Ronit Maximov, Respondent Appellant, v. Eitan Maximov, Petitioner
Appellee
Ronit Rosenberg and Eitan Maximov were married on August 7, 1998. Eitan petitioned for a
dissolution of marriage on October 26, 2005. At that point in time, the couple had one child and
Ronit was pregnant with a second child. The decree of dissolution was entered by family court on
July 30, 2007. Included in the final Decree were changes to the temporary family support awarded
prior to the court proceedings that were made effective prior to the date on which Eitan filed a
petition requesting a modification. Ronit attempted to address concerns through post trial motions
that were denied. This appeal followed.
Arizona Laws Determining Temporary Family Support Awards and Amount of Awards:
Ronit Rosenberg Maximov is seeking an appeal to the family court s decision to reduce and
reallocate temporary family support paid by Eitan Maximov

Fear In The Tell-Tale Heart And The Masque Of Red Death
Fear is beneficial and dismissive
Fear is beneficial. Being cautious in the world is a survival skill and alerts you about your
surroundings. Fear is like a restraint holding you back from the temptation of irrational acts.
Except when the fears releases and lead to paranoia. Sometimes fear clouds the mind of rational
thoughts therefore, it that may or will become an obsession. In Edgar Allan Poe s The Tell Tale
Heart , The Pit and the Pendulum , and The Masque of Red Death , all of the main characters
experience fear. Edgar Allan Poe uses symbolism, irony, and imagery to illuminate how fear
distorts the protagonist s mind and resulting in such fear. The symbols in The Tell Tale Heart and
The Masque of Red Death are the items that the narrator obsesses over due to emotional excesses.
An example would be the eye from The Tell Tale Heart and how that it may be symbolism of his
father s judgement. The judgement of the father s eye haunted [ him ] day and night. (page 74).
The eye haunted man with the symbolic of him being watched all the time. The person that would
be observing him would be the old man, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator is in a cell prepared for execution. The narrator knows he might die because at the
first, he thought he was in a tomb, already dead. The beginning of the story the narrator faints
constantly and stayed in a corner. Over time the narrator realizes [should he] perhaps even more
fearful,[ or should he just accept it.] (page 65) The pit may be his only way out , as he describes
it as ... the typical hell... hurl me into the abyss; and thus (there being no alternative) a different
milder destruction awaited me. (page 69) The best way out is death, the afterlife, so the narrator
remains calm, maintains hope and rationality. He does that to survive, he is the one out of the
three stories that keeps sane. The way to survive in his case is to keep your

The, And Administrative Decrees Documented During The...
After Alexander the Great conquest of Egypt in 332 BC, Egypt was ruled for the following three
centuries by the foreign Greek dynasty of the Ptolemies. Although Egypt was subjugated by
Alexander in 332 BC it wasn t actually until 305 BC that the Ptolemaic dynasty was officially
established. Ptolemaic Egyptwould have been considered one of the two greatest powers in the
Hellenic East. However, there is evidence that shows that the first troubles that Ptolemaic Egypt had
to face actually originated from Egypt itself. These troubles were formed largely due to the ethnic
tension that had formed with the native Egyptians and the immigrated Greeks. There was a third
community of people present in Ptolemaic Egypt at this time, these people being that of the Jewish
faith (find better way to introduce this shit). It is the hope of this essay to prove through analyse of
literary texts, papyri, and administrative decrees documented during the reign of the Ptolemaic
dynasty that the tension between these two groups was extremely strong. This can be attributed to
a fusion of the Greeks disdain for the native Egyptians and the Egyptians resentment of the Greeks
due to the ill treatment they receive from them.
Even from the very first migration of Greeks in Egypt, Ptolemaic Egypt was a bureaucracy were in
which your social standing was determined by your race, and the prevailing ethnicity was that of
the Greeks. Although the Greek were the minority in Egypt this did not stop from being

  • 2. My Experience At The Hamburg Airport It is a Saturday ,about 4 o clock in the morning, on the way to the Hamburg airport. I am with my parents and we just left the hotel. I am about to leave Germany and my family to play basketball in Texas and also to go to college. I made this decision half a year ago. I signed with a scholarship agency, and a coach from Texas contacted me the last week before the deadline of recruiting. Therefore, everything was complicated. I had to prepare, do paperwork, take English tests, and several other things in two and a half ,months. One month before I had to take the flight, I thought I had finished everything; unfortunately, that wasn t the case. As a result, Africa s cultural identity has been what sociologist Ulf Hannerz calls creolized (6), which, as seen in the history of soccer, can be yet another facet for neo colonialism. From these roots of colonialism and neo colonialism grew the sport of soccer. Initially, in the 1860s it was introduced by Britain in South Africa (Armstrong Football 8) and other countries, such as France and Portugal, followed in other regions. Associated colonizing individuals and groups including missionaries, teachers, soldiers, and other colonial settlers acted as prime catalysts (8). Africans would watch white Europeans play and then apply what they learned in their own local township games using bundles of rags as makeshift balls (9). Teams and leagues were formed, as were rivalries, different styles of play, and different philosophies on the game. In 1923, African football began to be recognized internationally as a rising power when Egypt was accepted into the FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and three more national associations (Sudan, South Africa, and Ethiopia) were later accepted, until 1957 when the ConfГ©dГ©ration Africaine de Football (CAF) was founded (9). Eye Of The Beholder Rhetorical Analysis An awful lot of people come to college with this strange idea that there s no longer segregation in America s schools, that our schools are basically equal; neither of these things is true. Jonathan Kozol. The author of the script Eye of the Beholder , Rod Serling, puts his point out there about how segregation is going on all around us and it will never stop. The audience he is trying to portray his message to is everyone. He wants to make them aware of the segregation that is still going on today. Just because someone has a feature that they can t help and it is different than the majority of the population doesn t mean they should be shunned, ridiculed or pushed away. By describing how her features were human looking, which is normal for us, compared to the pig like faces everyone else had, which is abnormal to us, he drives his point home that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The point that Serling was trying to make was that as a human population we look at each other and usually think nothing of it and if we someone that has different features that would be undesirable to us, we regard it is ugly and repulsive. That is how the pig faced people thought of Janet Tyler. In a portion of the script where Leader is talking on the screen, he talks about how everything must be the same. He says, We know now that there must be a single purpose, a single norm, a single approach, a single entity of people, a single virtue, a single morality, a single frame of reference, a single philosophy of government. The evidence of darkmatter is from the motions of astronomical objects, specifically stellar, galactic, and galaxy cluster/supercluster observations. Jones is focused on parents and teachers, both of whom restricts the exposure of kids to violent media. He also notes the skeptical thinking, which argues that violent media have a negative impression on kids. His argument is catchy and strong based on his own realizations of the world and experience. Let us discuss how he has made the argument realistic. The first evidence that Jones used to convince his audiences is his own story. He narrates his own story, which is obviously from his real experience after getting exposed to the violent cartoon character Hulk. As Jones illustrates his anecdote, when he was a child, his fear and feelings were suppressed under a decent small boy posture and his teachers and parents created a wall between him and the society. This journal demonstrates the importance of nurse patient communication and how nurse patient communication effects the outcomes of the patient care. Nurse patient communicationinvolves more than just words being exchanged between two or more people. Nurse patient communication needs to exhibit feelings and recognition of those feelings so that the patient knows that their feelings have been recognized. According to this journal, most patients stated that their nurses initiated conversation, listened attentively but did not show empathy or see the situation from the patients point of view. Science I Term Paper The research paper that this term paper is based on is Interactions Among Plant Transcription Factors Regulating Expression of Stress responsive Genes, Sony Malhotra and R. Sowdhamini, National Center for Biological Sciences, June 2014, Bioinformatics and Biology Insights. Abstract: Plants are known to respond to abiotic stress by up or down regulating their genes. This is done by activating transcription factors. It is known that these transcription factors, though they have DNA binding domains, interact amongst each other for the regulation of gene production. In order to find out which transcription factors interact and how, the research uses genetic and molecular structure information available in databases and computationally analyses the data. The factors that lead to the conclusion of interaction between transcription factors includes spatial proximity and possible interaction poses. Molecular docking is used to predict the interaction poses and DockScore is a scoring system used to rank the interaction poses. Introduction: Plants are immobile and therefore need mechanisms to counteract stresses that they face from their environment. Cold, high light, drought, salinity, abscisic acid, rehydration and combination of stresses like cold drought salt stress are common abiotic stresses that plants encounter. In order to deal with these stresses, plants either up regulate or down regulate their genes; that is, they increase the production of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Importance Of Unconditional Love Love immediately evokes mental images of lovers pledging their undying love to one another, or a mother cradling their child. These images are indeed loved, however when people attach the word unconditional to love, it becomes a prevalent falsehood in both literature and man s history. Oedipus by Sophocles, where a man s incest and murder filled origins lead to his demise, and Medea, whose title character decimates all who have wronged her, by Euripides are prime examples of how there are some conditions, caused by ego, selfishness, and competition, that love just cannot survive. Although some would argue that people can love without stipulations, it is clear that no one is capable of unconditional love because to love someone is an action and people s actions are dictated by self service. A competitive instinct is one of the factors that hamper an individual s ability to offer love without inhibition.According to Richard Grigg, author of the article Evolution s Error: How Human Nature Went Awry from The Humanist, states A competitive streak was especially beneficial at a time when humans were regularly faced with a challenge such as scarce food resources. But that competitive impulse, to take but one example of our animal instincts, frequently undoes us in contemporary human society. . The theme of loss of innocence is often seen in not only literature, but also everyday life. During the Holocaust, many Jewish children were forced into concentration camps, where they endured eye opening experiences that forced them to lose their innocence. In the memoir, Night, Elie Wieselwrites about the experiences that caused him to lose his innocence in the concentration camps. At the age of fifteen, Elie was removed from his home and forced into a concentration camp with only his father left. Being in the concentration camp, Elie has witnessed and experienced many awful things that normal teens generally do not go through in life. Through these series of cruel events, Elie Wiesel experienced a loss of innocence in which caused desentization from the brutal events happening around him, caused his loss of hope in humanity, and changed his religious faith. One event that leads to Wiesel s loss of innocence is when he witnesses Idek beat his father with a metal bar and remained silent about it. This event contributes to Wiesel s loss of innocence because he lacked emotion during the brutal beating against his father. During the Buna camp, Elie s father was doing a poor job, which resulted in Idek s father beating his father with a metal bar. Elie thought to himself, I had watched it all happening without moving. By the end of the campaign, massive amounts of lives had been lost on the British side, and it was a decisive failure. Dardanelles and Gallipoli were very much a prime example of something Churchill would do over and over again: see positives, but not negatives or consequences, only possibilities. These campaigns were the end of Churchill politically for a time, along with the Asquith government. Asquith was forced to form a wartime coalition government with the Conservatives, who demanded the resignation of Churchill. While Churchill became a scapegoat for the failure, while he did play some part in it, everyone had seem to forgotten the roles of Asquith, Kitchener, and everyone else involved in the planning of this military disaster. While he heavily mourned the loss of his position, Churchill moved on. He journeyed to France, intent on returning to his soldier days. Sir John French offered him the comfort post of an aid or a commander of a brigade at the front. Churchill chose the second option, but only after he gained experience beforehand. He then chose to be assigned to the Grenadier Guards, Second Battalion. This was his first true experience with the horrors of trench warfare. It is too heavy for the spacecraft to take off and overcome the gravitational pull of the Earth to get into space. We know that astronauts traveling to Mars would not be able to stay for a couple days or weeks like the Apollo space mission. Rather, the Martian astronauts will need to remain in space at least one to three years during the mission (NASA 2012). If we spend more than nine months in space, we have to build a shelter which can protect the astronauts from being exposure to radiation risk from the Sun (NASA N.d.a). Therefore, we need to have good shielding, such as water and cement, but they are very heavy. Additionally, the astronauts have to bring food, drinking water, air, clothes, medical supplies, and other things that they need for the mission. All of these things added up together will take about three million pounds. That is infeasible for them to make it all at once because a spacecraft just only lift fifty thousand pounds against the Earth s gravity into space.
