The Pony Express In Nevada
Throughout history Nevada has been an outstanding state giving it residents the best
it has to offer, as it still does today in the 1850 s it was no exception.
During the 1850 s the Unites states decided to try to connect the west with the rest of
the country with a mailing system called the Pony Express. The Pony Express was a
mailing system from Missouri to California. In Nevada the Pony Express had about
29 stations that crossed Nevada. One in particular the Simpson Park Station, this
station was named after Captain James H. Simpson and was built in the spring of
1860 after Simpson visited Nevada and described it as ..... The grass, water, and
timber of this range would be amply sufficient....

I have an interest of being at a school where I want to be a vet tech. I would like to
learn more about animals than I am now at the career center being in a animal care
class. That would make my application complete trying to get into a school with vet
tech classes. I would like to learn how to take care of sick animals and how the vet
tech does x rays and all kinds of experience that I would like to see because i m not
getting that kind of experience at the medina county career center. Or to be a vet
tech assistant because I love working with animals and it s a type of career field I

Since this is something I enjoy to do I would like to learn more about animals than I
may not learn from the career center. Over the summer I worked at a dog kennel and
it was ok something I wasn t crazy about because I liked the little dogs mostly
rather than the big dogs. I m more comfortable at the career center because i ve been
there so many times and with the dog place I wasn t there but only once. So pretty
much I knew the teachers there in the animal care class. But yes I did love spending
time with the animals because dogs are cute and at the career center I love petting
the animals because some of them are really friendly. I really get along with the
animals there at the career center because I basically know what to do there. All
they had at the dog kennel was dog s and they have so many pets at the career
center from dogs to medium to small animals. They also even have reptiles which
are pretty cool animals. They had a grooming station at the dog kennel a small one
wasn t very big but at the career center had bigger grooming stations. They also had

Everlasting Matchbox Research Paper
The Everlasting Matchbox The matchbox from Chicago s World Fair in 1934 was
a matchbox built to last as a reminder of the Century of Progress . The use of
formal qualities of the matchbox play a strong impact on keeping the matchbox as a
memory. The material qualities of the matchbox would help keep the matchbox
protected from harmful damage throughout the years. The formal and material
qualities help keep the matchbox alive in memory and physical form. Together, the
formal and material qualities help preserve the matchbox for years to come. One of
the first examples of the matchbox being built to last is due in part because of the
formal qualities of the matchbox. One of the formal qualities of the matchbox is the
metal having a colored picture on it. The colored picture on the matchbox makes the
metal that is not painted on catch the viewers attention because the metal appears
very bright. This combination of colored and non colored metal helps create a mental
image easy to remember. Whenever the viewer thinks of the matchbox they
immediately think about how shiny the metal was upon first seeing the matchbox,
keeping the mental image rooted in the viewer s memories. Another formal quality
of the matchbox is the metal itself that makes the matchbox feel like a valuable
piece of history. The different images portrayed on the various matchboxes portray

The formal qualities preserve the matchbox by keeping it rooted in the memories of
the viewer and make it easy to be remembered. The material qualities of the

both in memory form and in physical form as a token of the Century of
Training Strategy Proposal Essay
Training Strategy Proposal
Training and development imply changes, particularly changes in knowledge, skills,
attitudes, or social behaviors, and although many strategies exist for effecting change,
training and development are common and important ones. Organizations exist
everywhere and with each organization it has its own set of objectives to function
effectively. To have an organization function effectively, the organization must
subdivide its overall objectives into various jobs. Jobs differ in their requirements,
similarly, people differ in aptitudes, abilities, and interests, and along many other
dimensions. Faced with such variability in jobs and their requirements on the one
hand, and with people and his or her individual ... Show more content on

This involves breaking down barriers, sharing information, using a collaborative
approach to problem solving, and orienting employees toward continuous learning
and improvement. Leaders who are to transform employees to bring out his or her
creativity, imagination, and best efforts require well developed interpersonal skills,
founded on an understanding of human behavior in organizations. Therefore, because
training and development activities are planned programs of organizational
improvement, and it is important that the programs are planned as thoroughly as
possible, since the ultimate objective is to link training content to a desired job
behavior (Cascio Aguinis, 2011).
A five step process should be considered as Kudler strategizes on a training and
development program. The first consideration would be to conduct a comprehensive
analysis of the training and development system, including the system s interaction
with other organizational systems. Kudler s second step to consider would be to
determine training needs and specify training objectives clearly and explicitly. The
third consideration for Kudler would be to create an optimal environment for
training, decomposing the learning task into its structural components. The last two
considerations for Kudler would be to determine an optimum sequencing of the
components, and to find other options for learning. Paying close
The Correlation between Stress, Overweight, and Exercise
The Correlation between Stress, Overweight and Exercise
Stress, exercise and obesity what do they have in common and what roll do they
play in the human body? Stress can cause obesity and exercise can elevate stress and
obesity. They Mayo Clinic says that stress can put a body at risk for many health
problems, including anxiety, depression, digestive problems, heart disease, sleep
problems, weight gain, memory and concentration impairment (Staff, 2013). In the
same article the Mayo Clinic says that one way to react to stressors in life is to get
regular exercise. When a person is under stress, typically a fight or flight situation, the
hypothalamus sets off an alarm in the brain, causing the adrenal gland to release the
hormones, adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline, increases the heart rate, raises blood
pressure and boosts energy, it is a fast acting hormone that starts to wear off once the
situation has resolved. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, curbs the non fight or
flight body systems, increases glucose to the brain and alters immune, digestive and
growth systems. If a person is under constant stress from work, home, school,
relationships, finances, etc. cortisol is constantly being released into the body
causing the immune, digestive and reproductive systems to slow down. Cortisol also
slows the growth process and increases the glucose in the body. When the immune
system is slowed the body has a harder time fighting off germs and
The Ethics Of The Treadway Commission ( Coso )
Business ethics refers to a code of morals that specify what form of conduct is
expected from an individual. For that reason was established a Code of Professional
Conduct which provides the set of principles to guide members of an organization in
performing their duties in professional and accountable way. Every member of an
organization from top to bottom is responsible to act in an ethical way. Members of
the company very often get involved in misconduct when management sets up
unrealistic objectives. Consequently employees are forced to reach these objectives
using any method possible. Final result justifies unethical conduct. Therefore a tone
at the top plays important role in creating ethical and accountable atmosphere in the
organization. Most importantly company should set up effective internal control. In
order to do that the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway
Commission (COSO) provides framework on how to design and evaluate internal
control. Internal control provides assistance in overseeing operations, compliance and
reporting of transactions, which is essential in achievement of objectives set by the
company . Internal control is made up of five components such as Control
Environment, Risk Assessment, Control Activities, Information and Communication,
and Monitoring Activities. Therefore in order for internal control run effectively and
for the company being able to achieve its objectives all five components should be
Al Qaeda Research Paper
1988: bin laden founded al qaeda
Al Qaeda developed out of the struggle to expel the Soviet Union from Afghanistan.
Osama bin Laden, son of a wealthy Saudi contractor, joined many young Arab men
of his generation in Afghanistan. While he appears to have played a very minor role
in the fighting, his wealth enabled him to recruit, train, and supply fighters for the
insurgency. It was founded in Afghanistan. America started to support israel against
palestine which made al qaeda mad and wanted to fight back against the US which
lead to the truck bombing in 1993.
In 1993 the Egyptian Ramzi Yousef planted a truck bomb in the garage of the World

embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, killing 220 people. The
previous February bin Laden had issued a fatwa (religious edict) proclaiming it a
sacred duty for devout Muslims to kill Americans whenever and wherever they
could be found. American involvement in the extradition, and alleged torture, of four
members of Egyptian Islamic Jihad who had been arrested in Albania for an alleged
series of murders in Egypt in the two months prior to the attacks made al qaeda plan
their next attack on the USS The Sullivans.
On January 3, 2000 Al qaeda planned to attack the USS the Sullivans ship, but it
failed because they put too much weight on a small ship to bomb the USS Sullivans
crew ship so the boat sank.Their failure didn t stop their motivation, al Qaeda
succeeded in bombing a U.S. Navy warship in October 2000 with the USS Cole
Bombing and killed 17 sailors. A day later, a grenade was thrown at the British
embassy in Yemen, blowing up one of its electric generators. Al Qaeda wanted to
attack the U.S. more by attacking the world trade centers, they would promote
widespread fear throughout the country and severely weaken the United States
standing in the world community, ultimately supporting their political and religious
goals in the Middle East and Muslim World. This is copied, and therefore needs a
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Branc

BRAC, an international development organization based in Bangladesh, is the largest
non governmental development organization in the world. BRAC has pioneered a
unique model of sustainable business that integrates Corporate Social Responsibility

3. Advantages gained from Social Enterprises Through its unique model and
integrated operations, BRAC achieves five distinctive advantages across its
enterprises:
Synergy
The integrated network of BRAC Enterprises, Development Programs and
Investments together beget a unique synergy and essentially create a 2+2=5 Effect.
The surpluses generated by the social enterprises make BRAC more self sustaining
so that increasing numbers of poor people can become self reliant.
Cross Collaboration
BRAC enterprises maximize synergy, impact and value by their targeted outreach and
integrative products and services across multiple enterprises.
Cross Subsidy
Although BRAC enterprises aim for financial returns while fulfilling the social and
environmental missions, not all enterprises are equally profitable. The cumulative
surplus from BRAC enterprises combined are used to re invest in the BRAC
enterprises and support the development programs, on an as needed basis, not on a
pro rata basis across

are able to help a poor old man, send money to the following post box . . . I hope to

keep the professor s wife happy for a few more months. In the end when the professor
s wife came to find the chef he felt so guilty and desperately tried to replace the
imprisoned professor saying Let me go home with you. I ll be a father to your son,
and I ll warm your bed, and I ll keep you safe. He felt as though if the professor s
wife believed he was the professor then it would serve as a proper apology for getting
the professors stealing his identity.

from jail; it also leads him to steal the professor s identity. But the chef felt guilty
and this made him write to all the friends and students of the professor to ensure
then that he was alright. Both desperation and guilt come together when the chef is

Persuasive Essay Against Bat
High pitch sound deterrents are the popular way in repelling the bats and they are
used not only for bats but for other pesky animals as well. These high frequency
machines are transmitting the noise that only bats can hear, but they will soon
become immune to the sound and completely will ignore it. Another wrong method

various pest control organizations and it has never been proved as the effective one.
Most of the animals will just ignore the device and if they pay attention to it, it will

Analysis Of Graduation Day By Maya Angelou
Forged by Pain In 1940, the United States approached the eightieth year anniversary
of the abolition of slavery; however, the social oppression of African American
citizens steadily increased. Despite being free for decades, they were still leagues
below the white people who owned their ancestors. African American author Maya
Angelou recollects on her experience of graduation from the eighth grade in her 1940
piece Graduation Day. The narrative not only highlights the importance of the
narrator s graduation, but also the expectations of Angelou s community due to their
persecution and separation. Perseverance through separation and persecution forges
dignity in an individual. The separation of the African American displays the
importance of graduation day. Angelou was only graduating from the eighth grade,
but because of the sociocultural differences, graduation proved momentous in their
community. Angelou later states Oh, it was important, all right. White folks would
attend the ceremony, and two or three would speak of God and home, and the
Southern way of life (Angelou, 2014, p. 181). The school making a minute event
into a grand celebration conveys much about the state of the position African
Americans were subjected to. Angelou displays this later when she describes the
scene of small children presented in a play about buttercups and daisies and bunny
rabbits and older girls preparing snacks and beverages. Normal society does not make
such an event of Middle School
Spastic Cerebral Palsy
Spastic cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that unfolds in the developing brain
either right before birth or shortly after, typically before the child turns one year of
age. Head injuries that occur several weeks after birth may also cause spastic cerebral
palsy. Spastic cerebral palsy makes up roughly eighty percent of all cerebral palsy
cases, since there are other types; spastic is considered to be the most common.
Spastic cerebral palsy causes neuromuscular mobility impairment meaning that there
is a lack in connection between the nerves and muscles. The two parts of the brain
affected by spastic cerebral palsy are the cerebral motor cortex and the white matter.
The cerebral motor cortex is responsible for movement, hearing, speech, thinking,
visual processing etc. Therefore if the cerebral motor cortex is damaged then all
those previously listed may be affected. White matter is responsible for transmitting
signals to the body, consequently if it is damaged, nervesignals are interrupted.
(Common Parts of the Brain Affected by Cerebral Palsy.) Spastic cerebral palsy
carries many symptoms which include musclespasticity/stiffness, joint contracture,
paralysis, seizures, dysarthria, difficulty eating/swallowing, drooling, irregular
breathing (respiratory problems), unsteady gait, learning disabilities, hearing/eyesight
problems, slower growth than average, scoliosis, bowel problems, or urinary
incontinence. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.) Spastic

Vlad The Impaler, The True Dracula Essay
Vlad the Impaler, a.k.a. Vlad III, Dracula, Drakulya, or Tepes, was born in late
1431, in the citadel of Sighisoara, Transylvania, the son of Vlad II or Dracul, a
military governor, appointed by Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund. Vlad Dracul was
also a knight in the Order of the Dragon, a secret fraternity created in 1387 by the
Emperor, sworn to uphold Christianity and defend the empire against the Islamic
Turks. Transylvania, along with Moldavia, and Wallachia, are now joined together as
Romania. The name Dracul can be interpreted in two ways, the first translation from
Romanian would be quot;Dragon quot;, but it sometimes also means quot;Devil

Vlad Dracula formed an alliance with Hunyadi, in the hopes of persuading him he
was the rightful heir to the throne, but it wasn t until 1456, that Vlad Dracula
would make his move, killing his father s murderer, and defeating Vladislav II, to
take over as the new ruler of Wallachia. In 1569, following an Easter Sunday feast,
Vlad Dracula had all the boyar families who had been attending arrested. Those
who were in good health were condemned to a life of slavery, and put to work on
the construction of his Poenari Castle on the Arges river. Those who were old and
weak were impaled for all to see. Thus began Vlad the Impaler s reign of blood and
terror. Construction of the castle was difficult work, and many of the slaves died
in the process. Many were forced to work naked, for their clothes had fallen off
from wear. Needless to say, Vlad Dracula in no way considered these people human
beings, and he treated them worse than animals, severely punishing and torturing his
captives, whether or not they had done anything to provoke him. He abhorred
weakness of any kind, and was determined to be the ruler of a Kingdom which
would only be host to the rich and powerful. One day, Vlad Dracula decided to
cleanse his Kingdom of those he considered to be lazy and unproductive, those who

Jesse Owens s Role In American Society
A Race For All Races Segregation has always played a major role in the American
society, whether it be the places people eat or the music a person listens to. African
Americans have always been looked down upon in our culture. They were used for
work, as slaves, for white plantation owners. They have never been given a chance,
because whites never wanted them to be considered equal. This was all true, until
the world met Jesse Owens. Among other African Americans who fought for equal
rights, Owens made a major impact in the sports world. Owens fought for his
rights by running. Jesse Owens changed the way African Americans are treated in
the world of professional sports, by participating in the 1936 Olympics that took
place in Germany. Owens, born in Cleveland, grew up in a highly segregated area.

Owens was faced with throughout his life.

each move I have associated music into my life immensely. Traveling with music

It was not recently that I went to my first concert ever, which was in fact Keith

back to Montana every year. To this day, we still travel out west but since we have

However, he is still our calming music when life gets tough for our family.
Bartender by Lady Antebellum it top two of my favorite songs. I like this song not
only because of the message that is says, but the story behind it. I like how
whenever, I listen to this song I remember exactly where I was and what I was
doing at the time. It was the summer of 2014 at one of our cabins in the Big Sky
country of Montana. My aunt came running out of the door yelling at us to come
help her. As we ran into the bathroom in crisis mood ready to help wherever we
could. Little did we know, it was not a fire or broken lamp, the problem was
located in the bathroom. As we walked into the bathroom, we all screamed. Water
was overflowing from the toilet every direction, from that moment on we knew that
the toilet was severely clogged. Since the septic tank was made during the early
1800 s, we could not just unclog it with a plunger. Two roader eaters, and ten people

Using Connections Between People, Places, And Network
Statistics is a way to see how a group of individuals can be grouped together using
connections
SNA is the mapping and depiction of relationships and connections between people,
places, groups, computers, and lots of other things. The different nodes in the
network represent the different people and groups while the links represents the
relationships between the nodes.
When you relate your life to world networks and connections; you think about
friendships that are established via internet, acquaintances, job interviews and money.

your relationships were created and how it was formed. Which stimulates from new

For instance, there is a trending topic in the media. Twitter is known for mentions
to be a popular thing. Everyone would push towards the social media to view
several conversations with respect of a mention. McTemore s metaphor of a living
web is an accurate description of the current social network, which dramatically
expands our ability to connect with one another. For example, some 6,000 Ш›
tweets are tweeted on Twitter every second, which corresponds to 500 million
tweets per day. This number increased from 5,000 tweets per day in 2007, to 2.5
million in 2009, and 340 million in 2012. Online technology has opened a new world
of revolutionized connectivity. (Lee, l. (2015).
Graph Theory
In Mathematically terms, while using a graph theory it is represented as a
network. A graph consists of two sets the nodes and the links which could be
described as (edges, sets). It s held as a maximum N (N 1)/2 and will eventually be
connected based on the pair of elements. To show a valid connection with a graph
using nodes and links, the person will connect draw a dot that represent the nodes
and connect it with a link (known as the edge) to be created. The higher the value the
stronger the connection will be in the graph.
G= (N, L) where N= {n1, n2 ,....,nN } represent the nodes
L = {l1, l2, ...., lK} represent links
N = nodes of networks
K = total number of links
Mathematically, we can represent a network using graph theory. A
The True Cause Of Violent Behaviors
The True Cause of Violent Behaviors in Today s Society
There are volumes of media that are starting to harm the world in which we live.
They have been linked to fourteen mass murders (Fletcher). Nine out of the top ten
selling games have been labeled as violent and 42% of adolescents play them (
Children and Video Games ). These violent video games are a major problem in the
United States and across the globe. Violent video games have a direct correlation
with negative behaviors because they increase anger and aggression in young
people, decrease prosocial behavior, and have unfavorable effects on a teens daily life.

If people are viewing the world as a hostile and violent place then they are not able
to grow and develop relationships with others in their lives. They are gaining
beliefs that their life outside of violent video games wants them to fail, and that
society is unable to understand their way of life. Violent video games are
destroying the possibility of relationships between people. 90% of video games
portray violence. Our brain sometimes doesn t distinguish between what is real and
what we see on TV (Barclay). This is a scary realization because it shows that what
we watch and play on TV can have a very harmful effect on our lives. Our brain is
sometimes unable to recognize what is real and what is not, which in turn will not be
able to help determine when a violent situation is occurring and when one is not.
Violent video games do not promote prosocial behavior between humans. Violent
video games have contributed to fatal actions. Mika Brzezinski said, It s kind of
hard not to make a connection [between games and the Navy Yard Shooting] when
you hear [the shooter s] friend saying that he would watch on a life size screen these
violent video games for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours (Kain).

Elizabethan Entertainment Research Paper
Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era There were many different forms of
entertainment and entertainers during the Elizabethan Era, or Shakespearean Age.
Most well endowed families in the Elizabethan Era were able to do a lot more in
order to entertain themselves. This is especially because they are not busy with the
hard work and tasks that lower classes have to handle on a daily basis. According to
Dylan Shore, the elite class enjoyed themselves by throwing large feasts, jousts, and
banquets. The jousts that were thrown consisted of a competition with two opponents
who fought on horses with lances. Jousting was a very popular sport during this era,
especially for the elite. Banquets were thrown with five courses, each course being
reasonably large and filling ( Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era). Because the elite
class had access to more, as stated in a BBC article, ...the invention of the printing
press and spread of education meant that gentlemen were part of an elitist culture
involved in intellectual pursuits, such as reading the classics, studying music,
hunting, and hawking. ( Life in Elizabethan England ). They also danced and listened
to music, which was a form of entertainment that lower classes also engaged in (

A Brief Note On Cyberstalking And Identity Fraud

Cyberstalking and Identity fraud Cyberstalking is the form of using technology such
as computers, mobiles, internet and other networks for stalking an individual. The
criminals who use cyberstalking are called as Cyber stalkers. They use email,
messages, phone calls and other communication devices to stalk and victimize people.
Cyberstalking cases have been increasing these days and most people are not aware
of this. Some of the most common cyberstalking comes from many forms and the
most common tactics used are threatening, harassing or sending manipulative emails
out from various accounts and hacking on the personal information and gaining
access to the victim s personal records or accounts. The recent records ... Show more

Most of the victims would end up paying the sum of money demanded and if they
don t pay up the money, the personal information would be lost in that stipulated
time. Another example of cyberstalking that I came across was Joe Good s
cyberstalking case. His ex fiancee Tawny hacked into his personal email and got
him fired from his job. She stole personal information from his Yahoo account and
sent obscene mails to his superiors at work. She manipulated him and got him
arrested a number of times. She somehow gained access to his Yahoo account and
obtained personal information and used it against him. She used the law to
support her cause by showing that she was physically manhandled by Joe whereas
actually she hurt herself physically and falsely accused him. She also threatened a
land lord of Joe s girlfriend and a former colleague of Joe s. We must hence be
careful while using passwords and sharing passwords. Passwords must not be shared
and we should protect them from prying eyes. We cannot tell from where the hacker
would target you and a small amount of negligence could land you in trouble and we
could be a victim of cyberstalking.
Identity fraud is faking one s identity and using the identity for illicit means. This is
an unlawful activity. It includes the usage of the identity of one person or a non
existing person to stalk the victim. Some of the possible indicators of identity fraud

V. METHODOLOGY One of the basic factors that affect the choice of a project is
the availability of materials, selection of materials, and the cost of the materials for
the design or fabrication of the project. The materials selection for the design function
depends on the following:
i)The availability of these materials in our local markets. ii) The strength of these
materials iii) The cost of the materials iv) The possession of simple mode of the
operation iv) The appearance of these materials
v)The ability of these materials to serve the purpose for which the project is intent to
be designed.
A.Metallic Gear
A gear or cogwheel is a rotating machine part having cut teeth, or cogs, which mesh
with another toothed part to transmit torque, in most cases with teeth on the one gear
being of identical shape, and often also with that shape on the other gear. Two or
more gears working in a sequence (train) are called a gear train or, in many cases, a
transmission; such gear arrangements can produce a mechanical advantage through a
gear ratio and thus may be considered a simple machine. Geared devices can change
the speed, torque, and direction of a power source.
Describe The Importance Of Core Competencies
Answer of Question 1/
A unique ability that a company acquires from its organizers or developers and that
will be not be easily or imitated. In other words Core competencies are the skills
and processes for that are used to develop a company s core products and services,
those products and services that will gives the business a competitive advantage
over and over to other businesses and are significant for the long term growth of the
company. Core competencies are what give a company one or more competitive
advantages, in creating and delivering value to its customers in its chosen field. Also
called core capabilities or distinctive competencies. Core competencies are usually
not only limited for a single process, but it for a combination of processes,
technologies and skills. Core competency arises from the integration of different
shares of the business, such as design with technological innovation. For example,
Apple s sleek design, coupled with innovative products and Sony s ability to reduce
electronics are core competencies for those companies. A core competency should

The Federal Food And Nutrition Program Model
The first option follows the federal food and nutrition program model mixed with
wholesale pricing and distribution. Philadelphia, a metropolitan area with its share
of struggling neighborhoods, has tried to find success by partnering with Food
Trust; a regional advocacy group on the east coast funded by a variety of public
and private sources (Hargreaves, 2015). The Trust provides training on how to
handle fresh produce, like not storing bananas next to apples since apples give off
ethylene, which rots the bananas (Hargreaves, 2015). In addition, the Trust gives
advice on how to sell produce, as well as training with ordering and bookkeeping.
For local store, Olivares, the Trust provided money and expertise, sprucing up the
store with a new refrigerated display case, awning, vegetable kiosk, as well as signs
throughout directing customers to the healthful options (Hargreaves, 2015). The Food
Trust and Philadelphia s healthdepartment became partners in 2010 and since, the
Trust has to some degree or another renovated over 200 stores around the city. For
reference, a full on conversion like Olivares cost about $60,000 (Hargreaves, 2015).
Though somewhat costly and no guarantee, preliminary data suggests the makeovers
are having a positive impact. Some participating stores offer monthly neighborhood
health checkups, and early indicators are that people who shop in these stores are
losing weight and lowering their blood pressure (Hargreaves, 2015). Nationwide, at

Coaches come from many different backgrounds. Some are former players, some
are students of the game, and some just want to learn a new skill. Growing up, I

Generally if you get a hit 30% of the time you are considered an above average
player. There is a fine line between being a good player, or a below average player.
Some call it luck, but above average players can certainly be developed. I want to
coach to help develop these above average players. I want to teach that if you work
hard enough and put in your time you can elevate your game. I ve seen it work for
many people that have put the time in, and would enjoy to help these players get
better. Another aspect that explains my interest in coaching, is that there are many
new methods used that can help win games, and that can help develop players. The
methods used when I was young have now been discredited, yet many coaches still
use them. I would have interest implementing the newly researched methods.
Finally sports are about more than winning and losing at the end of the day. I want
to coach to help these men learn to work together as a team. This is an essential
aspect of their future and they need to learn to use this skill. Players also need to
learn to be respectful and responsible. If you make an error it happens, I would
hope my players would learn from it. I don t believe in embarrassing them after
that, they know they made a mistake, and they need to know how to fix it, not that
they made a mistake. I also want to coach because too many players are disrespectful
to officials in today s game. I don t go after umpires, and I would expect my players

Problems Of The Circus Essay
Problems of the Circus
When I look at animals held captive I think of slavery. Animals in circuses represent
the domination and oppression we have fought against for so long. They wear the
same chains and shackles. The United States Animal Welfare has standards of care.
When looking at the major circuses, they have all been cited for violating the
standards. Animals feel just as much, if not more emotions and humans. Circuses
should be eliminated completely because of the animals dangerous living conditions,
the long term damage it does to the animals, and the mammals could pose a potential
threat to the spectators.
Their living and traveling conditions are not ideal; they should be living in the wild.
The animals spend most of their time locked up in chains and separated from their
families with no choice. Kenny, a three year old Asian Elephantdied one night after
the circus made him perform while sick. As a three year old, in the wild, he would
just now be beginning to wean, which means to start eating other foods rather than
the mother s milk, not spending countless hours mastering tricks. Deborah Nelson
quotes federal regulations, saying sick elephants must get prompt medical care and
veterinarian s okay before performing, (p48 57) but he did not get get either of
those. Kenny got sick all three times he went out to perform, and it did not get any
better. A couple hours later, the officials found the helpless three year old elephant
dead on the hard concrete floor.

The second audience for this group is the low income families of at risk, and
underserved, low income children. They need to be educated on the benefits that
could come from the higher taxes. In my opinion, the higher income bracket can
afford the higher taxes to fund some of these programs. The cost of living, food,
gas, and housing all affect the income of many families in the US. If they
understood what could come from the taxes, they could get some reissuance as to
vote on such a bill if it came up to vote for the public. Education on the subject of the
current tax laws would be a good example of what the different taxes brackets that
are used today in the US. Lower income families would jump on the idea of being
able to send their children to a soccer camp, or baseball camp. According to an
article on Taxing the rich is good for the economy , raising taxes on the higher
income bracket would reduce the taxes on low and middle income families. This
would also allow for those families to keep more of their income to use towards these
programs.
All in all I think it would be a beneficial idea to entertain. The context of the
economy, food, and taxes all play an important role in this argument. The higher
income bracket would be resistant to the idea until they were presented with facts on
the cost and the minimal decrease in
Beginning of a Civilization Essay
Modern civilization as we know it began as a group of shabby huts in the ancient
region of Mesopotamia. Flowing from mountains in modern Turkey, the Tigris and
Euphrates Rivers created an environment favorable for settlement. Wandering groups
of people happened to come upon this fertile land. The warm temperatures allowed a
permanent civilization to begin. Mesopotamiais a region which has a huge variety of
geography combined into one expanse of land. There are rivers, valleys, mountains,
floodplains, deserts, and marshes splotched around the region. However, the most

Along with the annual flooding, there was the advantage of warm temperatures
which allowed for a variety of crop growth. Mesopotamians planted grains like
wheat, rice, and barley and further improved their diet. After centuries of tedious
labor by people, a clever idea was brought forth: the domestication of animals for
farming purposes. Soon, farmers were domesticating sheep, goats, and horses to
perform the labor. By using such techniques, farmers were often able to get twice as
many crops as they had before, and Mesopotamia began to have food surpluses. The
food surpluses were ultimately the factors that led Mesopotamia to experience
remarkable development. Strong developments had to be made so that Mesopotamia
could achieve success in its society. Thanks to advanced irrigation and farming
techniques, there were food surpluses. Many farmers changed jobs to begin a career
which would generate greater earnings. This ultimately helped the economy of
ancient Mesopotamia. Eventually, people began to gain large amounts of money by
selling crops and objects made by craftsmen. The wealthy and poor were separated
into rural and urban areas. To keep up with a developing society, Mesopotamia made
a government. Laws and tax collection systems were created to fund the government.
In addition, the wealthy people made ancient learning centers, where scholars taught
modern subjects such as mathematics and literature. To keep track of events, a writing

The Effect Of Self- Control On Children
An experiment that explores the self control in children. A way to test one s
willpower and the willingness to delay gratification in order to achieve a higher
goal. These statements all fit into what Walter Mischel was trying to prove in his
Marshmallow Test. This experiment was based on the effect marshmallows and
other sweets have on children and their willpower when it comes to waiting to have
it. With this purpose, the view of human nature that is felt presently, will change
profoundly. The key to success comes from direct correlation of self control and
willpower because after all, self control is a central function of [understanding] the
self (Baumeister). Walter Mischel was a psychologist who focused on personality
structure, process, and development, and in self regulation (Plous). His primary
interests, when looking at his studies, all include the relation to the mind, and its
effect on action. They consist of emotion, mood, motivation, goal setting, self and
identity, and social cognition(Plous). The fact that his studies all relate to each
other, gives an advantage when creating an experiment. The advantage is the fact
that he will be comfortable with what is being studied and the results that come in.
With the background of looking at goal setting and motivation that he has, it gives
this experiment more credibility as a whole. The test was put in place to be made
toward kids and their reactions when it comes to having a plate of treats such as
Cinderella Short Story Essay
Through a historical analysis, we see that many aspects of the story are
representative of the time. The story is set in Germany in the 1800s. To start, the
story begins with the death of Cinderella s birth mom who became sick . . . and
died (Grimm). This is because death was quite common in the mid 1800s [and] life
expectancies were only in the high thirties or early forties (Huber). Soon after the
father took himself another wife (Grimm). This is because in the 1800s second
wives were quite common, (P. Smith 107) as the main role of the man was to
marry to produce a male heir. Since the father only had Cinderella, a daughter, it
was his role to remarry and have a male to inherit his land and belongings.
Remarrying was also a norm of the time for child rearing. While the role of the
man was to produce an heir, the role of the woman was to take care of the children.
Taking care of the children was typically in the hands of the mother (Eidson). The
stepmother s role would have been to watch over the children as the husband was
gone. This occurs several times throughout the story as the stepmother watches over
Cinderella as the husband goes to the fair . . . and festivals (Grimm). Women would
remarry because they were limited in resources (P. Smith 107) without a man, so it
is not unusual the stepmother remarried as well. By remarrying, the stepmother is
provided for by the husband. The husband provides a home for the girls and buys
dresses,

Study of past geomorphic responses to similar climate changes can provide clues
regarding how the region s watersheds will be affected by ongoing global warming,
making this study s findings relevant to land managers.
One weakness of the Intragovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports is a
limited understanding of how modern societies can best adapt to rapid climate
change (Van de Noort, 2011). Archaeology can contribute a broad based
understanding of the adaptive capacities and pathways of past communities faced
with rapid climate change, as well as the possible cultural ramifications of various
adaptive strategies. This insight is important for devising effective strategies for
modern communities to successfully deal with the consequences of ongoing rapid
climate change. An improved grasp of the interelationships between climate,
geomorphology, and culture in the Carrizo Wash watershed can contribute to this
larger understanding.

What Accounting And Finance Is And Why It Has An
Important...
INTRODUCTION
This report focuses primarily on the understanding of what Accounting and Finance is
and why it has, and will continue to be, an important aspect of any business further
exploring its subsequent relevance in guiding those who work in these areas.
WHAT IS ACCOUNTING?
Accounting, a practice which goes back many millennia, arises from the concept
which Britton and Waterston (2005, p. 03) believe came about when managers
(known then as stewards) had to account for their stewardship of the owners money .
Fundamentally, this idea brought forward by Britton and Waterston, is possibly a
leading factor when trying to understand what accounting is which is defined by the
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales... Show more content on

While this may be the case, the final aim of preparing all these documents is to assist
people by communicating to them information on which they will subsequently make
a decision on.
WHAT IS FINANCE?
Finance, similarly to accounting, assists people with their decision making. The
difference being that finance focuses mostly on the way a business entity raises and
invests funds. According to an extract from the University of North Carolina
Wilmington titled, What is Finance? , finance incorporates the study of money and
other assets, the management of those assets and being able to profile and manage
project risks . In this way, it is clear to see how accounting and finance are linked
because without accounting information, none of the above incorporations would be
possible. Finance can be divided into three categories: public, personal and corporate
finance.
пѓ Public finance is the study of the role of the government in the economy and how
resources are allocated (Atkinson and Stiglitz. 1980)
пѓ Corporate finance is the area of finance which dealt with the way a business
sourced funds and used them to increase the overall value of the business.
пѓ Personal finance is simply the finance that an individual deals with taking into
considerations risks and future events.
TYPES OF ACCOUNTING
There are various types of Accounting which serve different purposes but are of equal
significance when it comes to the well being and

Antibiotic Resistance To Antibiotics
Antibiotic Resistance The increasing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics is a growing
problem that affects individuals on a global status. Antibiotic resistance refers to the
ability of bacteria to alter their genetic material and mutate to avoid destruction by
antibiotic medications rendering the drugs ineffective in fighting infection and
disease. This resistance has had tragic effects as numerous of the resistant infections
have resulted in death of the host. Because of the severity of this condition,
organizations and institutions across the globe have been working together to study
and examine the best strategies to combat these resistant bacteriaor sometimes
referred to as superbugs . Many innovations have been proposed and implemented in
attempts to rid people of their infections. The discussion of which approaches are the
most effective and cost efficient has been taking place for decades and is still
occurring today along with further investigations of alternatives to antibiotics
altogether. Researchers are also attempting to understand what has caused the
problem of antibiotic resistanceand how this problem has developed. Efforts to
contest these bacteria are extremely important and it is now up to the next generation
of health care providers, researchers, and educators to implement the best ways to
keep people healthy. There is much speculation about what has caused the increased
resistance of bacteria to antibiotics and how this problem has developed.
Socialist Concepts in The Jungle by Upton Sinclair Essay
Socialist Concepts in The Jungle by Upton Sinclair The beginning of the book
starts out at Jurgis and Ona s wedding, or more specifically, the after party. This
scene establishes how these two main characters look, and how they and the rest
of the characters act. Jurgis is a big man with thick black hair that goes nearly to
his eyes. He is very muscular and well built. Ona is a small woman; her whole
body is able to disappear in Jurgis s arms. She is soft spoken, little in appearance
and in personality. Cousin Marija is a big woman; she is established in the first part
of the book as a very pushy and loud person. At the after ceremony of the weeding,
there is much food, drink and fun. It is tradition that the family pays for... Show more

At the beginning, only Jurgis worked, he would not have Ona working. It was not
long until it was realized that she would have to work, along with the children and
the old and the sick. Everyone would have to work in order to keep alive, in order
to feed each other and keep warm in the winter. The difficulty of finding a job in
Packingtown was hard enough. The characters also had to walk to work everyday,
often in below zero temperatures. The book also describes the process of speeding
up . Men would have to work at a pace unthinkable to modern society. People were
literally worked to death. There were always accidents at work and dying was not
unusual. The book also describes the horrible processes of the meat packing
industry. Nothing is clean about the business. ...the beef had lain in vats full of
chemicals, and men with great forks speared it out and dumped it into trucks, to be
taken to the cooking room. When they had speared out all they could reach, they
emptied the vat on the floor, and then with shovels scraped up the balance and
dumped it in to the truck. This floor was filthy, yet they set Antanas with his mop
slopping the pickle into a hold that connected with a sink, where it was caught and
used over again forever; and if
George Orwell s Animal Farm
In 1943, Eric Blair, under the pen name of George Orwell, began writing Animal
Farm. Although born in Bengal, he eventually moved to Eton for schooling. After
completing his schooling, Orwell served for the loyalist forces in the Spanish
Civil War. At the end of the war, Orwell moved to England. It was in England
where he decided to devote himself to British Socialism and writing. The
masterpiece, Animal Farm, was created out of Orwell s love of Socialism and his
passion for writing. Although he had trouble at first, on August 17th, 1945, Orwell
finally found someone who would be willing to publish his novel. During the
writing of Animal Farm, Soviet Russia s involvement in thwarting the Nazi Army
caused many of the English publishers to refuse publication. These publishers saw
numerous risks in publishing Orwell s masterpiece because of the impact it could
have on Stalin himself. When asked why he would offend Stalin in such a way,
and also the USSR, he simply stated that he had only intended to write a cautionary
story for the democratic west, warning it against a dangerously alien form of
socialism . (Orwell i ix) In Animal Farm, Orwell creates a farm community in the
town of Willingdon. The two nearest farms to Animal Farm were known as
Pinchfield and Foxwood. Pinchfield was ran by Mr. Fredrick while Foxwood was
ran by Mr. Pilkington. Although both prosperous farmers, each of these two had very
different ideals when it came to running their own farms. Mr. Fredrick
The Tragedy Of Beowulf By William Shakespeare
Ancestry plays an important part in Beowulf, it is the blood that the characters carry
that decides their fate. To try to deny destiny, is both courageous yet, for some it is
futile. Beowulf s most conflicting character is Grendel, throughout the story you may
feel pity for him, and other times you feel hatred for him. Grendellive in a marshy
swamp, and is a descendant of Cain, who killed his own blood brother, Abel, out of
jealousy. To pay for this ultimate sin, Cain s whole clan was condemned to be
outcasts. The apple does not fall far from the tree because Grendel also feels envy
towards the people in Heorotfor shunning him away, so he retaliates by killing people
without feeling any type of remorse.
In the beginning, times were peaceful in Heorot. There would often be banquets in
the mead hall and warriors would celebrate their victories. It harrowed him to hear the
din of the loud banquet, (Beowulf 43). Grendel was frustrated by all the noise the
people made every single day. This may seem as an overreaction, but the reader
must look at it from both sides. One can only wonder about the agony Grendel must
have went through to hear the people who tormented him, have parties every single
day and enjoy themselves. It s no surprise that Grendel ended up snapping and going
into a rampage. Although Grendel is dangerous, he only attacks when it is dark
outside. Could it be that Grendel is ashamed of being seen when it s daylight?
Grendel has a local habitation and a
Culture In Japanese Culture
Culture is a significant theme in this film. One important factor to point out is
throughout Stevenson s trip in Japan, he is hit with culture shock and the same can
be said for the Japanese executives. Stevenson mocks how the Japanese exchange
business cards during the presentation, how they eat with chopsticks and how rigid
and structured Japanese cultureis. This culture clash not only affected the characters
personal lives, but also impacted the business. Research has clearly established that
culture affects the application of managementtheories and practices. Work values, in
particular, are an important part of cross cultural understanding in that they are
themselves measures of cultural dimensions, and also have strong implications for
many areas of management, from employee motivation to organizational
communication (Matić, 2008). Almost immediately after opening up the doors to
the plant, there were problems. The Japanese people had a very strict and rigid
way of running their businesses and doing their work as compared to the
lackadaisical American work ethic. The plant workers are expected to perform
calisthenics in the morning, are denied basic privileges like sick leave, paid overtime
and a union. The town and these workers are in such a desperate situation that they
decide to withstand the abuse and impossible demands set by the Japanese plant
owners. It is difficult enough to manage a business with workers and executives that
have a common culture and
Wolf Protect Herbivores
There are only 11,200 grey wolves left in the world. People are hunting them and
shooting them and littering on their habitats, so they are endangered. Wolfs keep
the food chain in balance, so we need to keep them safe. We need to help them.
Without wolfs or other predators the herbivores will multiply and eat all the plants
and will move to other areas and then the herbivores there will move and they will
all keep on grazing till there is nothing left. Plus wolf kills are good for the soil.
Once an animal dies off they won t come back again. Wolfs and other animals are
very amazing and they help us alot in many ways. If wolfs die out the food chain
will go toppling down and if one animal goes it affects the other animals.Wolfs

Epic Hero Research Paper
A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to preserve and endure in
spite of overwhelming obstacles, (Christopher Reeves). Throughout all types of
story s, movies, poems and epics, a hero is always found. A hero that is found in a
epic is called a epic hero. Many epics were written a few thousand years ago.
Beowulf is one of the most common known epic heroes. Another type of herois the
modern hero. These are our heroes we have today. Superman and Hulk are examples
of an modern hero. Modern and Epic heroes have bothe similarities and differences.
Both heroes have the same perspective but could different from design and
personality. Over the years, from epic to modern heroes, culture and society has
changed our definition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both heroes would be rewarded for their deed or deeds. Modern heroes could be
rewarded with a girl or freedom from something else. An epic hero was normally
given money or gear and weapons worth millions of dollars today. Either way both
are rewarded for their deeds. Together both types are also treated with respect and
each fight for a good cause. One difference between the two is, modern heroes don
t have or want to be recognized for doing the right things. Epic heroes strive to be
remembered and most of their deeds come from that. Today modern heroes are just
trying to do the right thing and by that they are remembered. Another difference is
epic heroes were born to be heroes. Modern heroes are ordinary people who are
gifted with their special ability. For example Superman came from a different planet
where flying was common. Modern and Epic heroes are different in many but are
also the same in
Effective Reward Management is Critical to

Effective reward management is critical to organisational performance
Being rewarded and recognised for their work or contribution is what keeps an
employee motivated to work towards achieving the organisational as well as personal
goals. When the employees is motivated by rewards, they will have job satisfaction
consequently increasing the productivity of the organisation. It necessitates the need
of managers to pay more attention in understanding their employees and come up
with suitable types of reward systems for the organisation so that the employees are
intrinsically and extrinsically motivated all the time. The hypotheses that I put
forward here is to support this statement that effective reward management is critical

Forrest (as cited in Donovan, 2008) says that before putting any motivation
programme together, an employer should profile the target audience in terms of age,
gender interests and should also ensure that the rewards it offers will appeal to any
individual.
As cited in Zhou, Zhang Montoro Sa МЃnchez (2011) reward management is a key
function in HRM systems in modern enterprises, playing an important role in
attracting, retaining and motivating employees (Milkovich and Newman, 2004).
Furthermore, Schuler and Jackson (as cited in Esteves Caetano, 2010) state that the
focal point of success of companies today is centered on the effective use of human
resources.
In today s knowledge based economy, innovation has become the principal source of
competitive advantages in global business; the success of firms now depends more
on their intelligence capability such as employee creativity than traditional material
assets (Amabile et al., as cited in Zhou, Zhang Montoro Sa МЃnchez, 2011). The
creative capability of individual and collective knowledge workers is the fuel that
powers innovation in firms. While creativity leads to the production of new and
useful ideas in any domain, innovation is the successful implementation of those
creative ideas within an organisation (McLean, as cited in Zhou, Zhang Montoro Sa
МЃnchez 2011). In highly dynamic business environments innovation and creativity
have become crucial for creating competitive advantages for the

Organizations exist everywhere and with each organization it has its own set of objectives to function effectively. To have an organization function effectively, the organization must subdivide its overall objectives into various jobs. Leaders who are to transform employees to bring out his or her creativity, imagination, and best efforts require well developed interpersonal skills, founded on an understanding of human behavior in organizations. Therefore, because training and development activities are planned programs of organizational improvement, and it is important that the programs are planned as thoroughly as possible, since the ultimate objective is to link training content to a desired job behavior (Cascio Aguinis, 2011). A five step process should be considered as Kudler strategizes on a training and development program. The first consideration would be to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the training and development system, including the system s interaction with other organizational systems. Kudler s second step to consider would be to determine training needs and specify training objectives clearly and explicitly. The third consideration for Kudler would be to create an optimal environment for training, decomposing the learning task into its structural components. The last two considerations for Kudler would be to determine an optimum sequencing of the components, and to find other options for learning. Paying close

The Correlation between Stress, Overweight, and Exercise The Correlation between Stress, Overweight and Exercise Stress, exercise and obesity what do they have in common and what roll do they play in the human body? Stress can cause obesity and exercise can elevate stress and obesity. They Mayo Clinic says that stress can put a body at risk for many health problems, including anxiety, depression, digestive problems, heart disease, sleep problems, weight gain, memory and concentration impairment (Staff, 2013). In the same article the Mayo Clinic says that one way to react to stressors in life is to get regular exercise. When a person is under stress, typically a fight or flight situation, the hypothalamus sets off an alarm in the brain, causing the adrenal gland to release the hormones, adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline, increases the heart rate, raises blood pressure and boosts energy, it is a fast acting hormone that starts to wear off once the situation has resolved. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, curbs the non fight or flight body systems, increases glucose to the brain and alters immune, digestive and growth systems. If a person is under constant stress from work, home, school, relationships, finances, etc. cortisol is constantly being released into the body causing the immune, digestive and reproductive systems to slow down. Cortisol also slows the growth process and increases the glucose in the body. When the immune system is slowed the body has a harder time fighting off germs and

Analysis Of Graduation Day By Maya Angelou Forged by Pain In 1940, the United States approached the eightieth year anniversary of the abolition of slavery; however, the social oppression of African American citizens steadily increased. Despite being free for decades, they were still leagues below the white people who owned their ancestors. African American author Maya Angelou recollects on her experience of graduation from the eighth grade in her 1940 piece Graduation Day. The narrative not only highlights the importance of the narrator s graduation, but also the expectations of Angelou s community due to their persecution and separation. Perseverance through separation and persecution forges dignity in an individual. The separation of the African American displays the importance of graduation day. Angelou was only graduating from the eighth grade, but because of the sociocultural differences, graduation proved momentous in their community. Angelou later states Oh, it was important, all right. White folks would attend the ceremony, and two or three would speak of God and home, and the Southern way of life (Angelou, 2014, p. 181). The school making a minute event into a grand celebration conveys much about the state of the position African Americans were subjected to. Angelou displays this later when she describes the scene of small children presented in a play about buttercups and daisies and bunny rabbits and older girls preparing snacks and beverages. Normal society does not make such an event of Middle School

She somehow gained access to his Yahoo account and obtained personal information and used it against him. She used the law to support her cause by showing that she was physically manhandled by Joe whereas actually she hurt herself physically and falsely accused him. She also threatened a land lord of Joe s girlfriend and a former colleague of Joe s. We must hence be careful while using passwords and sharing passwords. Passwords must not be shared and we should protect them from prying eyes. We cannot tell from where the hacker would target you and a small amount of negligence could land you in trouble and we could be a victim of cyberstalking. Identity fraud is faking one s identity and using the identity for illicit means. This is an unlawful activity. It includes the usage of the identity of one person or a non existing person to stalk the victim. Some of the possible indicators of identity fraud are unauthorized charges

The market for pellets is still relatively young but rapidly growing in terms of usage and capacity building. For Energy saving cost reduction. We will use solar energy for functional working of machine. V. METHODOLOGY One of the basic factors that affect the choice of a project is the availability of materials, selection of materials, and the cost of the materials for the design or fabrication of the project. The materials selection for the design function depends on the following: i)The availability of these materials in our local markets. ii) The strength of these materials iii) The cost of the materials iv) The possession of simple mode of the operation iv) The appearance of these materials v)The ability of these materials to serve the purpose for which the project is intent to be designed. Two or more gears working in a sequence (train) are called a gear train or, in many cases, a transmission; such gear arrangements can produce a mechanical advantage through a gear ratio and thus may be considered a simple machine. Geared devices can change the speed, torque, and direction of a power source.

The Trust provides training on how to handle fresh produce, like not storing bananas next to apples since apples give off ethylene, which rots the bananas (Hargreaves, 2015). Along with the annual flooding, there was the advantage of warm temperatures which allowed for a variety of crop growth. Mesopotamians planted grains like wheat, rice, and barley and further improved their diet. After centuries of tedious labor by people, a clever idea was brought forth: the domestication of animals for farming purposes. Soon, farmers were domesticating sheep, goats, and horses to perform the labor. By using such techniques, farmers were often able to get twice as many crops as they had before, and Mesopotamia began to have food surpluses. The food surpluses were ultimately the factors that led Mesopotamia to experience remarkable development. Strong developments had to be made so that Mesopotamia could achieve success in its society. Thanks to advanced irrigation and farming techniques, there were food surpluses. Many farmers changed jobs to begin a career which would generate greater earnings. This ultimately helped the economy of ancient Mesopotamia. Eventually, people began to gain large amounts of money by selling crops and objects made by craftsmen. This experiment was based on the effect marshmallows and other sweets have on children and their willpower when it comes to waiting to have it. With this purpose, the view of human nature that is felt presently, will change profoundly. The key to success comes from direct correlation of self control and willpower because after all, self control is a central function of [understanding] the self (Baumeister). • 34. Cinderella Short Story Essay Through a historical analysis, we see that many aspects of the story are representative of the time. The story is set in Germany in the 1800s. To start, the story begins with the death of Cinderella s birth mom who became sick . . . and died (Grimm). This is because death was quite common in the mid 1800s [and] life expectancies were only in the high thirties or early forties (Huber). Soon after the father took himself another wife (Grimm). This is because in the 1800s second wives were quite common, (P. Smith 107) as the main role of the man was to marry to produce a male heir. Since the father only had Cinderella, a daughter, it was his role to remarry and have a male to inherit his land and belongings. Remarrying was also a norm of the time for child rearing. While the role of the man was to produce an heir, the role of the woman was to take care of the children. Taking care of the children was typically in the hands of the mother (Eidson). The stepmother s role would have been to watch over the children as the husband was gone. This occurs several times throughout the story as the stepmother watches over Cinderella as the husband goes to the fair . . . and festivals (Grimm). Women would remarry because they were limited in resources (P. Smith 107) without a man, so it is not unusual the stepmother remarried as well. By remarrying, the stepmother is provided for by the husband. The husband provides a home for the girls and buys dresses,

According to an extract from the University of North Carolina Wilmington titled, What is Finance? , finance incorporates the study of money and other assets, the management of those assets and being able to profile and manage project risks . In this way, it is clear to see how accounting and finance are linked because without accounting information, none of the above incorporations would be possible. Finance can be divided into three categories: public, personal and corporate finance. пѓ Public finance is the study of the role of the government in the economy and how resources are allocated (Atkinson and Stiglitz. 1980) пѓ Corporate finance is the area of finance which dealt with the way a business sourced funds and used them to increase the overall value of the business. пѓ Personal finance is simply the finance that an individual deals with taking into considerations risks and future events. In the beginning, times were peaceful in Heorot. There would often be banquets in the mead hall and warriors would celebrate their victories. It harrowed him to hear the din of the loud banquet, (Beowulf 43). Grendel was frustrated by all the noise the people made every single day. This may seem as an overreaction, but the reader must look at it from both sides. One can only wonder about the agony Grendel must have went through to hear the people who tormented him, have parties every single day and enjoy themselves. It s no surprise that Grendel ended up snapping and going into a rampage. Although Grendel is dangerous, he only attacks when it is dark outside. Could it be that Grendel is ashamed of being seen when it s daylight? Grendel has a local habitation and a
  • 45. Culture In Japanese Culture Culture is a significant theme in this film. One important factor to point out is throughout Stevenson s trip in Japan, he is hit with culture shock and the same can be said for the Japanese executives. Stevenson mocks how the Japanese exchange business cards during the presentation, how they eat with chopsticks and how rigid and structured Japanese cultureis. This culture clash not only affected the characters personal lives, but also impacted the business. Research has clearly established that culture affects the application of managementtheories and practices. Work values, in particular, are an important part of cross cultural understanding in that they are themselves measures of cultural dimensions, and also have strong implications for many areas of management, from employee motivation to organizational communication (MatiД‡, 2008). Almost immediately after opening up the doors to the plant, there were problems. The Japanese people had a very strict and rigid way of running their businesses and doing their work as compared to the lackadaisical American work ethic. The plant workers are expected to perform calisthenics in the morning, are denied basic privileges like sick leave, paid overtime and a union. The town and these workers are in such a desperate situation that they decide to withstand the abuse and impossible demands set by the Japanese plant owners. It is difficult enough to manage a business with workers and executives that have a common culture and
  • 46. Wolf Protect Herbivores There are only 11,200 grey wolves left in the world. People are hunting them and shooting them and littering on their habitats, so they are endangered. Wolfs keep the food chain in balance, so we need to keep them safe. We need to help them. Without wolfs or other predators the herbivores will multiply and eat all the plants and will move to other areas and then the herbivores there will move and they will all keep on grazing till there is nothing left. Plus wolf kills are good for the soil. Once an animal dies off they won t come back again. Wolfs and other animals are very amazing and they help us alot in many ways. If wolfs die out the food chain will go toppling down and if one animal goes it affects the other animals.Wolfs basicly protect
  • 47. Epic Hero Research Paper A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to preserve and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles, (Christopher Reeves). Throughout all types of story s, movies, poems and epics, a hero is always found. A hero that is found in a epic is called a epic hero. Many epics were written a few thousand years ago. Beowulf is one of the most common known epic heroes. Another type of herois the modern hero. These are our heroes we have today. Superman and Hulk are examples of an modern hero. Modern and Epic heroes have bothe similarities and differences. Both heroes have the same perspective but could different from design and personality. Over the years, from epic to modern heroes, culture and society has changed our definition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both heroes would be rewarded for their deed or deeds. Modern heroes could be rewarded with a girl or freedom from something else. An epic hero was normally given money or gear and weapons worth millions of dollars today. Either way both are rewarded for their deeds. Together both types are also treated with respect and each fight for a good cause. One difference between the two is, modern heroes don t have or want to be recognized for doing the right things. Epic heroes strive to be remembered and most of their deeds come from that. Today modern heroes are just trying to do the right thing and by that they are remembered. Another difference is epic heroes were born to be heroes. Modern and Epic heroes are different in many but are also the same in

Effective reward management is critical to organisational performance Being rewarded and recognised for their work or contribution is what keeps an employee motivated to work towards achieving the organisational as well as personal goals. When the employees is motivated by rewards, they will have job satisfaction consequently increasing the productivity of the organisation. It necessitates the need of managers to pay more attention in understanding their employees and come up with suitable types of reward systems for the organisation so that the employees are intrinsically and extrinsically motivated all the time. Forrest (as cited in Donovan, 2008) says that before putting any motivation programme together, an employer should profile the target audience in terms of age, gender interests and should also ensure that the rewards it offers will appeal to any individual. As cited in Zhou, Zhang Montoro Sa МЃnchez (2011) reward management is a key function in HRM systems in modern enterprises, playing an important role in attracting, retaining and motivating employees (Milkovich and Newman, 2004). Furthermore, Schuler and Jackson (as cited in Esteves Caetano, 2010) state that the focal point of success of companies today is centered on the effective use of human resources. In today s knowledge based economy, innovation has become the principal source of competitive advantages in global business; the success of firms now depends more on their intelligence capability such as employee creativity than traditional material assets (Amabile et al., as cited in Zhou, Zhang Montoro Sa МЃnchez, 2011). The creative capability of individual and collective knowledge workers is the fuel that powers innovation in firms. While creativity leads to the production of new and useful ideas in any domain, innovation is the successful implementation of those creative ideas within an organisation (McLean, as cited in Zhou, Zhang Montoro Sa МЃnchez 2011). In highly dynamic business environments innovation and creativity have become crucial for creating competitive advantages for the
