Open City by Teju Cole
Teju Cole s phenomenally written original novel majorly takes place in New York City. Cole
character was easy to relate to because of his Nigerian American decent being that I am a
Ghanaian American. Cole is a Nigerian American. He was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria
and came to the United States in 1992 at the age of seventeen. Cole is also well educated and is
a graduate student at Columbia University. I found it insightful how in the novel Cole met
several various types of people, including other immigrants. He met and shared stories with a
Haitian shoe shiner, at work in Penn Station; a Liberian, imprisoned for over two years in a
dentition center in Queens; and a Moroccan student working at an Internet cafГ©. I enjoyed the
fact that the narrator was well stocked minded. He touched on the topics of art, music, and
interesting books. He had a very eclectic set of interest. Another aspect that attracted me to novel
was they way it was written. Although the book did have separate chapters, the way that it is
written make the novel flow as if it was one big paragraph. There are moments in the story where
characters converse but speech is not noted by quotation marks or paragraph breaks. This is a type
of writingthat even the most experience authors fail to accomplish, but Cole made it seem so
effortless. Such a style of literature is bound to keep readers interested. If felt as if the reader was
reading a diary versus a novel. Included in the novel includes forms of

Granito
by Pamela Yartes
In 1982, filmmaker Pamela Yates traveled to Guatemala to make a film about the nation s ongoing
civil war, with General Efrain Rios Montt s military dictatorship on one side and a rebel army of
farmers, intellectuals and indigenous Mayans on the other. Yartes stated that she has wanted to see
these people pay for their crimes. This documentary link Guatemala s blustery past and present. At
the time Yates completed her film When The Mountains Tremble, the world was just becoming
aware that Montt and his troops were engaging in genocide, determined to wipe out the Maya
people one and for all. However, she narrates the films about the search for evidence of Guatemala

Moreover, Yartes made a strong connection with forensic scientists, lawyers, and the press. Yartes
also explained that Granito is mostly about the importance of human rights and not just as she is
a filmmaker but it is going into all of the outtakes from 1982 to find evidence for the cases in
Guatemala. There was this guy named Freddy Peccerelli who ve been finding and looking for
scientific, forensic evidence, and also this lady named Kate Doyle, which she went through secret
military and police documents to find evidence, including evidence against Otto PГ©rez Molina
another man linked to the Plan SofГa which in seen in Granito. Furthermore, the importance of this
film was to document every step throughout the ongoing genocide in Guatemala and how
important this documentary could be to trial General Efrain Rios Montt. However, Freddy
Peccerelli stated what has happened in Guatemala is pretty much blanket impunity after the
signing of the peace accords and people are afraid to talk because of the lack of justice. To support
this view, Freddy and his recruiter dug

The Knowledge of Students at Conestoga College on Cyber...
Method:
The aim of this research was to further valuable insight into the knowledge of students at
Conestoga College regarding the cyber bullying? The purpose of the study was to find out if
students are aware of the college policies, laws regarding the cyber bullying. The study about
cyberbullying was conducted by doing a research at the Doon Campus of Conestoga College. To
conduct the study on Cyber Bullying a survey method was employed by the researchers. The
survey method has been used to gather some context regarding cyber bullying within the college.
The survey consisted of the qualitative and quantitative scale questions on participant s views on
the cyber bullying, legislations and college policies against cyber bullying and how frequently it
may happen within the college. A survey was given to students in different classes on the Doon
Campus of Conestoga College. The participants were all the students from different programs
enrolled in full time or part time courses at Conestoga College.. In order to conduct the survey at
college, an application was written to the Research Ethics Board for their permission to involve
Human Participants in research. The ethical considerations were given high priority prior to

Essay on Norris Case
Question 3
Norris had decided for some time that he wanted to purchase a motel. After looking at several
different areas, he settled on Port Stephens in New South Wales as offering both the potential for
a business and the lifestyle he was seeking. He rang a number of real estate agents, inquiring
whether they had any motels listed for sale. He finally found a motel and general business listed
with an estate agent called Evatt. Evatt told Norris that once he got going in this business it would
be a gold mine. Norris sought an accountant s advice and then proceeded to buy the business.
Within six months of buying the motel and general business Norris was broke because there were

Population Dynamic of the Legume-Rhizobium System
Nitrogen is essential for all forms of life in that it is required to biosynthesize basic building
blocks of plants, animals and other life forms. Atmospheric nitrogen is relatively inert; however,
the fixation process can free up the nitrogen atoms from their diatomic form (N2) to compound
form (NH3) so they could be used in many ways. Biological nitrogenfixation provides about 65%
of the biosphere s available nitrogen, and most of this is done by the cooperation between legume
and rhizobia. In fact, symbiotic nitrogen fixationby rhizobia in legume root nodules injects
approximately 40 million tonnes of nitrogen into agricultural systems each year.
The symbioses is achieved through a series of intricate interactions. And rhizobia are found as
bacteroids in infected legume hosts root nodules, where they would perform nitrogen fixation and
obtain sources of energy (like photosynthate) from the plant. Were there no oppurtunity cost in the
fixation process, natural selection among rhizobia would favor those strains whose bacteroids fix
the most nitrogen. However, nitrogen fixation is energy intensive. In the case of multiple infection,
it is mots likely that the free rider scenario would take place. Cheating rhizobia would exploit plant
resources for their own reproduction rather than nitrogen fixation, resulting in their outcompeting
the fixing rhizobia and the symbioses falling apart. Thus, host monitoring of symbiont performance
and the imposition of sanctions on

Designing A Graphic Organizer That May Provide An Overview...
In researching and finding information to develop a graphic organizer that could provide an
overview of various types of assessments was insightful. Reading assessments are often
mandated by a school district or state to determine where student are academically. In the case
of reading test, the data received is supposed to give the assessor and idea of defects and growth
of the reader. But is the information received from just one assessment tool giving an accurate
and complete picture of reading skills. Assessments may determine if a student is reading with
fluency, can comprehend what they have read, are able to decode words, and so on. Because of
the variety of assessments it was difficult to narrow the field and select just five. Familiarity with
the assessments assisted in my selection. The final five selected were; 1. Collection Portfolio
Assessment, 2.Miscue Analysis, 3.Running Record, 4. Criterion Referenced Tests and 5. Each tool
assesses reading in a variety of ways. The data they provide can determine the direction of current
and future reading instruction. In researching portfolio I learned that there were various format and
purposes. Portfolios can be the process oriented or product oriented. The formats I investigated
were collection, display and teacher/student portfolios. I selected Collection Portfolio to compare
with the other assessments tools. Again I selected this format because I was familiar with it. Even
with that I learned that there was

My First Shot
It was almost midnight when he caught up to me. I knew it was time. I picked a spot next to the
large cave I found under the brush. He was coming quickly and I heard the dogs with him. When
he was within range I turned slightly and yelled in pure terror, or thats what he thought. Waiting
for him to shoot I pretended to struggle and and scramble in the brush while he pulled out his
pistol. I knew the way it worked, I had been in his dungeons listening to the gun shots for weeks.
I knew he would shoot my arm first to stop me, then my legs, then one last shot in my heart to
kill me. I waited for the first shot. It grazed my arm but that wasn t good enough, I yelled as if it

Industrial Relations
The implementing of the Workplace Relations (Work Choices) Amendment Act 2005 ( Work
Choices ) by the federal Coalition government saw the most audacious industrial relations
legislation enacted for the Australian community in over a century (Peetz, 2006). It was to be a
central plank in the government s stated aim of reform by decentralizing industrial relations laws in
Australia.
The changes were significant and included:
abolition of the no disadvantage test
abolition of unfair dismissal protections for workers in firms with less than 101 workers
privileging individual contracts ( Australian Workplace Agreements or AWAs) over collective
agreements (CAs),
restricting the right to undertake collective action

Flexibility is demonstrated with options to cash out sick leave, penalty rates, overtime pay, shift
loadings, allowances, redundancy pay and the extra week of annual leave where it exists (ACCI,
2005). Only the five designated protected conditions are immune from such employer/employee
negotiation (OAE, 2008).
Certain requirements must be met in order to undertake industrial action under WorkChoices. These
requirements are designed to significantly reduce the occurrence of protected industrial action
(APH, 2008). The management and resolution of disputes pre Work Choices 2005 involved a
massive commitment of both time and energy to work through the resolution processes (ACCI,
2005).
All workplace agreements contain a dispute resolution procedure clause. Work Choices makes third
party intervention in disputes between employers and employees by the Australian Industrial
Relations Commission (AIRC) a last resort, unless industrial action is actually threatened or
taking place (APH, 2008). This is said to provide for improved communication and the ability to
effectively resolve disputes in the workplace without resorting to a drawn out process involving
interested third parties. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the number of working
days lost due to industrial disputes in the June and September quarters 2006 was 53 per cent lower
than the equivalent period in a year earlier before

Biology of a Squid Essay
Biology of a Squid
Squids are among the most varied and unique of all invertebrates. They are mollusks of the Class
Cephalopod, along with the nautilus, cuttlefish, and octopus. Squids are highly evolved, and have
developed a number of traits uncommon to most other mollusks. Fossil records of cephalopods
have dated back the Cambrian Period (about 600 million years ago). Structurally, squids have only
small variations of a basic theme common to all cephalopods. They are spherical or cigar shaped
with two fins used to stabilize movement when swimming. Ten arms are easily distinguished
emerging from near the mouth Eight of these arms each have four rows of suction cups encircled
by rings of chitinous (horny) hooks. These suction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Squids (and cephalopods in general) possess several unusual abilities that help them deal with
their predators (which range anything from large fish to sperm whales). Their lack of an external
shell allows them to squeeze into very tight places, enabling them to conveniently and easily hide
from their enemies. When confronted with a dangerous animal away from hiding places, however,
squids seem to have a disadvantage when compared to other mollusks with external shells. If
attacked, they have no exterior protection. To counter this potential crisis, they have adapted a
number of tactics. First, they are capable of temporarily altering the color of their skin, in effect
camouflaging themselves. They can shift their appearance from a deep brown color, to a white, or
almost transparent quality. Along with this, they are able to slightly change the texture of their
skin. This form of camouflage allows the squid to take the form of rocks, seaweed, or other ocean
dwelling objects. If a hazardous foe is not fooled by camouflage, the squid can release an ink
cloud. The ink cloud has a number of helpful characteristics that can ward off enemies. The cloud
initially causes the nearby water to become dark and cloudy, reducing the enemy s visibility and
allowing the squid to escape from danger. Some deep sea squids contain bacteria in their ink so
that the cloud glows, and scares away harmful rivals.

What Is The Stamp Act Of 1765 Dbq
Throughout 1764 to 1774, the British imposed a series of new acts on the colonist which only
created stronger unification and brought the colonies closer to rebellion (Schultz, 2010). The first
act was known as the Sugar Act of 1764. Although this act decreased the taxed amount on
molasses and sugar imported from non British colonies in the West Indies, it was problematic for
the colonists as it strengthened the enforcement of collecting taxes. Next, the British imposed the
Quartering Act of 1765. The Quartering Act was disrupted the homes of the colonists because it
required the colonies to provide food and shelter to British troops that were stationed in their
territories. In the same year, the Stamp Act was passed, which required all officials papers such as
wills, newspapers, diplomas, and cards to have an embedded stamp proving that the paper or
document had indeed been taxed. These acts were were becoming a nuisance to the colonists so
they began to organize themselves by forming the Stamp Act Congress (Schultz, 2010). In addition
to the congress, the colonists boycotted and formed other groups such as the Sons of Liberty and
the Daughters of Liberty. Rioting followed and eventually the Stamp Act was repealed.... Show

Analysis Of Lennie In Of Mice And Men
Lennie: Perfectly Performed John Malkovich s first film was Places in the Heart, which was in
1984. Eight years later he starred in Gary Sinise and Horton Footes adaptation of John Steinbeck
s novella Of Mice and Men. The directing from Sinise and Foote, with performance of John
Malkovich as Lennie made Lennie feel as if he was ripped out of the book and became a real
person. This helps the audience connect to Lennie s character, giving the readers/ viewers more
empathy by slipping into the shoes of Lennie. The Mannerisms, speech impediments, and how the
directors use lighting made Lennie s character genuine. Lennie has distinctive mannerisms, and
traits in certain situations. After the Red Dress scene, when George and Lennie get on the Train
and they are getting ready to sleep, it is very clear that Lennie copies multiple of George s actions.
This shows right away that Lennie looks up to George and thinks of George as a leader.
Throughout the movie and especially highlighted when George and Lennie are walking to the barn,
Lennie is constantly pulling his overalls up. This could imply that he doesn t know how to tighten
his pants, or in the most extreme possibility, that George might dress Lennie. With the inclusion of
this idiosyncrasy it makes Lennie s character authentic because of his normal day problems. Next,
an ample amount of the time Lennie likes to hold his left hand hovering in his chest region, Lennie
doesn t let his hand drop. This illustrates Lennie s

Outside Stressors In Schools Case Study
These findings supported my hypothesis. In the case of the first hypothesis of where the more time
a person spent towards their outside stressors, the greater impact it would have on school work.
The results showed that participants, who contributed more time to outside responsibilities, were
more likely to feel as if they were being negatively impacted by it. There is one outlier to this in the
case of the one student, mother who works 40 hours. This woman was the eldest participant, which
may lead to the assumption that with age came more experience at balancing out the extra
responsibilities. In the case of my second hypothesis, which was an extension of my 1st, when
participants had multiple extra responsibilities, they were more inclined to feel they were being
negatively affected. Overall across all the data, when participants had to balanceout two or more
outside stressors, they felt their schoolwork was being negatively impacted. In conclusion, the
results were in line with the hypothesis. Whether the stressor was work, childcare or sports each
had some sort of an impact on schoolwork performance. The best way for this hypothesis to be
fully analyzed would be by comparing this to a controlled group, which did not fall into any of
these categories.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One category in particular was difficult to obtain. As society changes less and less people are
having children at young ages. This contributed to the lack of participants who had children to be

students face their own stressors, the demands of graduate or even medical school may be far
greater for some. Had this sample been given to a sample of those seeking higher education more
participants would have had negative impacts. Another key contributor received from an older

Time Management Strengths And Weaknesses
Makena Kane College Recommendation Brag Sheet
Academic Strengths
Time Management: I am a film producer, and the most important quality is being a good time
manager. On sets, the producer is the one who keeps everyone on task and to schedule. Having
good time oriented brain has led me to be more proactive in my studies and outside activities.
Actually, having anxiety is one of the helpful factors in making me keep on top of deadlines. By
being so on top of time, I have never turned in homework late due to how my anxiety does prevent
me from procrastinating.
Adaptive: Being at an art school, and the fact that I have moved about 8 times in my life, I have
learned to be very adaptive. No matter the situation, location, or people I am with, I will be able to
work and figure out the problem. This has helped in times like my 64 Film Festival, where we have
to film a 7 minute film over a weekend. I have to adapt to where we film and what the script is
like to make schedules, and problems happen at a moment s notice. Without being able to adapt, I
would not have be capable of producing now 3 (successful, might I add) films in this festival.
Critical Thinking: One of my best academic strengths I believe is how much I am a critical
thinker. When working on group projects especially, I am usually the one who plans the structure
of what is happening and the best way to achieve the ultimate goal. I have a very analytical
mindset, where I work best with organized to do lists, making it

Technology and its Impact on the Music Industry
Introduction
The creation of musical works has always been culminated by several different processes and
usually involves many people. The process takes a lot of time delaying the release of music.
Advancement in technology has played a significant role in the music production by lowering the
length of time it takes to produce recorded material. Artists usually sign a contract with a recording
company that markets their music products. The internet and low cost recording technologies have
created a do it yourself music movement. New artists have gained worldwide recognition without
landing a recording contract with a major record label.
Digital files
Digitalization, data compression, and the internet have affected the music industry significantly.
These technologies have shifted the recording industries from hard copy recordings to digital
music distribution. This has made it easier for consumers to enter the music market through
copying. Consumers have access to copying technology that allows them to obtain music without
paying the record label. The situations clipped high in 1999 when Napster, a file sharing service
was launched. The service facilitated music file sharing on a wider scale. The consumers just
download the music and transfer it to a digital music device. This has negatively affected the trade
value of music sales, for instance in

Outline Of Psychoanalysis

Mrs. Dawson
The basics of the psychological approach to literature is built upon Sigmund Freud s theories of
psychology. Freud employed the idea that the unconscious mind ultimately governs a person s
behaviors. This gives rise to three parts of the mind that strive for dominance, including the id,
superego, and the ego; the id being the instinctual trends, the superego plays the critical and
moralizing role, and the ego mediates between the two. In attempt to treat behavioral disorders in
Viennese patients, Freud used psychoanalysis. According to his book An Outline of Psychoanalysis,
he believed this method of treatment would, cure patients by returning the damaged ego to its

Collins acts in a manner that is align with the symptoms of a personality disorder: Narcissistic
Personality disorder. One of the many symptoms includes, expecting special favors and
unquestioning compliance with your expectations (Narcissistic Personality Disorder:
Symptoms). This is prevalent in his behaviors throughout the book, especially in his initial
proposal to Elizabeth Bennet. When she first rejects him, he immediately is dissatisfied and
turns to insulting her family s fortune as a response. Due to his grandiose view of himself, he
believes Elizabeth should have immediately agreed to marry him. When she denies him,
however, he is thrown off, and can only turn to putting her down to make himself feel better. He
then continues pushing the proposal, and claims, that it is usual with young ladies to reject the
addresses of the man whom they secretly mean to accept (Austen 80). Those with this disorder
have an inability to recognize the feelings of others, as they expect everything to work out in their
favor. Mr. Collins strives to find reasoning for Elizabeth s rejection, as he cannot comprehend how
she could possibly reject him. Therefore, Mr. Collins is incapable of acting otherwise, as he is

Health Benefits Of Medicaid Recipients
Thousands of Medicare recipients are admitted to the hospital on a daily basis. The majority of
admissions are not preventable, but research and studies have shown that patients discharged
from varying hospitals are more likely to be readmitted to a hospital (Jencks, et al., 2009; Epstein,
A et al., 2011). With increased quality of care, hospitals can prevent readmissions while decreasing
Medicare costs. For Medicare, readmissions are defined as an admission to an acute care hospital
within 30 days of discharge from an acute care hospital (Horwitz, L. et al, 2011). Factors
affecting unplanned readmissions vary greatly among providers and geographical region, and
are opportunities increase quality and coordination of care, thus improving health outcomes. In
2005, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) conducted the Medicare Claim

readmission data. This research from MedPAC showed that 75% of Medicare admissions were
preventable and 17.6% of Medicare admissions resulted with a readmission within 30 days
(MedPAC, 2011). Furthermore, this large percentage of preventable admissions were taking a toll
on payers financially. The cost of these 75% preventable readmissions amounted to fifteen billion
dollars (MedPAC, 2011). This data raises concern regarding the financial burden of unnecessary
admissions as well as quality issues. Due to the high cost and decreased quality of hospital

Endocrine Gland Research Paper
There are many factors that work harmoniously to keep the body working correctly, various
endocrine glands (glands that secrete things inside the body) work in time with each other, the
brain, and organs, to maintain balance in the body. These endocrine glands secrete a large variety
of hormones that travel throughout the body to distribute their specific chemicals for the necessary
reactions. One endocrine glandthat is incredibly important in the body is the adrenal gland, as it is
essentially responsible for the fight or flight response by secreting Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, and
maintaining bodily homeostasis by secreting Aldosterone and Cortisol, although Cortisol also
contributes to the stress response. However there is a lot of minuscule... Show more content on

As it s responsible for balancing the water balance, and therefore the secretion and re absorption
of Sodium and Potassium in the renal tubules, Aldosterone binds onto mineralcorticoids receptors
and this complex moves to the nucleus, which then results in specific mRNA being synthesized
and increases or inhibits specific proteins necessary to balance the water levels in the body (Feher
2012). Cortisol is also quite specific in it s actions , for example, it works to increase blood
glucose, and therefore strongly targets the liver, muscles, and fat, to metabolize necessary glucose
storage s (Nussey Whitehead 2001). Cortisol travels through the bloodstream while binded to
Cortisol Binding Protein and diffuse across the outer membrane of the target cells as it s lipid
soluble (Jameson Groot 2015), and binds to specific receptors, otherwise known as glucocorticoid
receptors, in the cytoplasm which are already associated with heat shock proteins; as the cortisol
attaches to the receptor, the heat shock protein is released (Nussey Whitehead 2001). This receptor
complex is then transported into the nucleus using energy, and cortisol then attaches to
Glucocorticoid Response Elements in the DNA helix, which initiates RNA synthesis for the
specific proteins needed to carry out each specific response (Nussey Whitehead 2001). Due to the

Jason as the Foil of Medea Essay
Jason as the Foil of Medea In Medea, by Euripides, the two main characters Jason and Media are
forced to leave Lolkos and have taken refuge in Corinth. Jason has the possibility of establishing a
position of standing in the community by marrying King Creon s daughter. Medea is enraged by
Jason s betrayal of her and their two children and she vows to stop the marriage and exact revenge.
In the play, Medeaand Jason are set up as foils. Medeais completely dependent on the dominance
of passion over reason. She is depicted as conniving, brilliant and powerful. In contrast, Jason is
portrayed as a a character of little feeling; he is passionless, obtuse, witless, and weak. Medea first

He is obviously not aware that he has done anything wrong. He feels he has merely done what
any man in his place would do. Through his marriage to the princess he is now the the heir to
the throne of Corinth, which is ultimately something that will benefit Medea and her children.
He wants to regain status for his family and give his children to opportunity to have royal
lineage. Jason s plan is to achieve a better life for himself and bring his children out of poverty.
All of this would eventually benefit Medea, and he does not understand why Medea can not see
things his way. QUOTE His contention is that his plan would have worked out perfectly if
Medea had only acted sensibly. He blames her for crying out for justice and for making threats
against the royal family. If she had not threatened Creon and his daughter, Medea would not be
facing exile. Because of Medea s threats, Creon s animosity spreads to the children and he insists
that they all be sent away. Through their entire conversation Jason does not permit himself to be
controlled by passion. He keeps his head clear and simply lays down the facts. It is not like him to
let his feeling free play like Medea does. He is there to offer her money and a tell her about her
place of exile. He explains that it will be painful to see his children go, but Medea

During recent presidential elections, the non Persian electorate tilted heavily toward the reformist

long as the country s periphery remains an economic backwater. Although the Iranian economy has
been growing, the symptoms of underdevelopment remain acute in Iran s ethnic enclaves.
Discrimination, compounded by poor economic conditions, could motivate ethnic groups to
challenge the Iranian government in the future. A combination of state sponsored suppression of
Azeri sentiment (during the Pahlavi rule) and a massive integration movement toward the Iranian
mainstream (under the Islamic regime) has prevented the rise of ethnic nationalism in the

Analysis Of James Wright s The Blues Essay
As Bryan Crable notes, Burke and Ellison had the closest intellectual and social relationship when
Burke was writing A Rhetoric of Motives and, I would add, when Ellison was writing Invisible
Man. Crable points out that the Rhetoric is the only one of Burke s books to cite Ellison, in large
part because Ellison s 1945 essay Richard Wright s Blues (which called Wright s just released
memoir Black Boy a nonwhite intellectual s statement of his relationship to western culture that
illuminates a conflicting pattern of identification and rejection Г la Joyce, Nehru, and
Dostoyevsky) had a major influence on Burke only one month into serious work on his now
canonical text ( Blues 263 64, Crable 47 48). The claim that the friendship was important for both
Burke and Ellison is certainly true, intervening in a longstanding scholarly conversation on the
Burkean influences apparent in Invisible Man (and other works of Ellison s) that paid little
attention to the ways in which Ellisonian ideas in fact inspired Burke s work as well. Even with
this helpful addition of Crable s, though, the scholarly consensus seems to suggest that Ellison
employed Burke s philosophies of literary form in his composition of Invisible Man, while Burke
developed his thoughts on the rhetorical dimensions of racebased on Ellison s insights about the
conflicts between individual identity and racial identity (Crable 47 48). All of this is correct, but its
understanding of the Burke Ellison

Benito Final Essay There s a time in our lives when we realize that some rules and laws that are set
out are not always right or fair. In Herman Melville s novella, Benito Cereno, a slave, named Babo,
experiences a situation like this. He reacts to injustice by leading an undercover slave revolt to be
freed of slavery. However, he faces an American sailor named Captain Delano that follows a
government that uses the unfair system of slavery.
But even so, Babo continues his attempt to freedom because it is a right that he believes is worth
dying for, even if it means that he must threaten, deceive, or kill others in doing so.

This is important because it shows how Babo chooses to threaten someone for freedom because he
feels that it is justifiable since he was a slave and as such, his life was always forced to obey by his
master or was punished. After all, freedom is worth the risk, especially since it is a right that he
believes is worth dying for.
But even so, Benito stalls the ship near Chile where Captain Delano eventually sees the ship and
decides to make a visit. Smart Babo quickly improvises and makes a plan to try to deceive
Delano by tricking him and his crew to believe that the ship is still a slave ship and that they
needed supplies because of a disaster. This usage of deception by Babo is significant because it
shows how Babo is willing to do so for freedom because he understands that if they were to
present themselves to Delano without tricking him, then Delano would have tried to fight the
slaves. So Babo knows that tricking him is to their benefit because it would ve prevented a fight
and in return, he would be able to steal supplies from Delano and would be headed towards
Senegal. So fooling Delano was a good idea because it would ve helped them get closer to

Brazilwood was a key product for Portuguese trade. But the focus on timber would soon change.
Cash crops in the form of sugar cane production became the focus. Slavery was needed for the
growing of sugar cane and replaced the unsuccessful usage of native people for labor. Regular
slave trade between Brazil and Africa was begun in the 1550s as a temporary measure to replace
the Indians decimated by war and disease, but it lasted for over 300 years, and the institution of
slavery persisted until 1889, Brazil being the last country of the American hemisphere to abolish it.
The agricultural focus of sugar cane changed to coffee bean production in the late 19th century. As
coffee began to take off, slavery was abolished. With the influx of Africans halted, foreign
immigration was promoted. This would have a profound effect on the societal make up of the
colony. Mass migrations were already occurring as the Portuguese had established their minute
South American empire. Between 1884 and 1920 three million immigrants, mainly Italian, entered
the country. Portuguese, Germans, Italians, Spanish, Britons, the descendants of African slaves
and the products of racial mixtures of Brazilian Indians, Europeans, and Africans would be the kin

Brazil in 1864. British soldiers on shore leave kicked the ball around on their free time.

quickly found my self on the Turbine Hall Bridge, a dead end spacewith not much purpose to it.
When the new building opened, the arrival experience on level one dramatically changed. Lots of
improvement were shown and the river entrance become more of a way finding route. It now has a
comparable sense of arrival as that accomplished at the western entrance.
Herzog de Meuron have achieved to create a street running across the Turbine Hall from the north
to the south on level one. This entrance very naturally pulled me onto the centre of the Turbine
Hall Bridge which felt like the heart of the building with activity visible on either side. I was able
to read the building from this central part. I got a sense of the building s shape and the layout
which was created in my mind as an imaginary architectural model.
This central space really does operate as the heart of the building; it was a great place to plan my
first move and start to explore Tate Modern in more detail. The Turbine Hall Bridge and its
openings to the landscape on either side, felt like an extension to the bankside s public realm.

Frozen Sexual Identity
Sexual Identity Paper There are many concerns with how sexuality should be shown to children.
There are rumors to say that Elsa, the main character in the movie Frozen, will appear in the
sequel with a girlfriend. Now, this movie is primarily made for young children viewers, but is
this the correct notion of expressing a character s sexuality? Should children even be exposed to
different types of expressing their sexuality? Many parents could disagree that showing same sex
relationship can interfere negatively in children s lives. While indeed, there are other important
factors that do go into an individual s sexuality such as culture, media, friends and family. How
each person views themselves can be influenced by multiple factors. As more and more people
begin to become more open about their sexuality, how we were raised still affects how we see
other people. For example, a child being raised in a traditional, Christian home can infer that every
couple there should be a woman and a man, nothing other than that. When thinking... Show more

Men are to be the fixer and women to be the nurturing one. How one expresses themselves can be
totally up to their surroundings. As girls, stereotypically, were raised to use Barbie s and play
with kitchen toys. But perhaps by having by having many male siblings, their preference in toys
can also include cars and trucks, in addition another stereotype. Parenting plays a large role in
how children grow and either stay the same or question their role. It is a never ending cycle
called The Cycle of Socialization (Adams, Bell Griffin, 1997). We are first born with no questions
or assumptions about anything. Then we are exposed to institutions that shape the way we see
things, such as churches, schools, and television. In final, it is how we react to these findings, it is
up to us if we want to change or promote the status

would first and foremost like to advise UK government on the functions of EU directives as soon
as they are aware of it and understand the implications, we will together look at the EU directive

This is a sensible move which recognises the culturally and socially differences between
different countries of the EU. However, given the fact that directives take a lot longer to
implement as they must be put into law by the member states, the EU will often use regulations
to ensure the legislation is directly applicable and where appropriate does not leave room for a
different slant on the legislation by different member states (What are EU directives?, Copyright

Streetcar Named Desire Meaning
There is a meaning behind everything in life and in the play A Streetcar Named Desire there
was a significance to the name given to the play and a relation to Blanche s life. The Literal
meaning of the title is that there is a street car that is actually named desire that she takes to go
visit the Kowalskis. The car named desire is mentioned twice in the story, in the first scene and
also later on in the play when Blanche tells Stella that she came her in the car named desire in
response to Stella asking Haven t you ever ridden on that street car? . Metaphorically speaking the
title has a lot more significance. Blanche is at the Kowalski place because desire literally brought

The Death Of The Moth Annie Dillard Analysis
Annie Dillard s piece The Death of the Moth , is about Dillard being reminded of the death of a
moth she observes and how it relates to herself, this piece is a great depiction of the impact of life
and death. Dillard describes her surroundings living in a rural area and within her bathroom is a
spider which Dillard reminds of a moththat she killed in her past when she sees the web that the
spider has spun and how it has caught many bugs including two moths. She is intrigued by the
dead moth s bodies and givings a vivid description of the bodies While describing the moth s
dead torn body she relates it to a personal experience from her past where she watched a moth die
with candle two years ago. Dillard described the burning moth in vivid... Show more content on

Knowing this, she takes her experience and uses it to write this piece and uses it to spread her
message and her feelings toward the topic.
Dillard uses descriptions of her experience to flow with the story using metaphors and other ways
of conveying her message about life and death. Through this she allowed us to peer into her life in
that moment and convey the feeling she felt indirectly through the descriptions. This makes the text
effective because it causes the reader to look at oneself about life and death and the other topics
that could come from the essay. This gives her credibility because she experienced it first hand
(ethos, pathos). Playing on your emotion from person experience with death. Making the text more
effective.
To conclude, Annie Dillard s piece The Death of the Moth; is about Dillard being reminded of the
death of a moth she observes and how it relates to herself, this piece is a great depiction of the
impact of life and death. She talks about her personal experience in a tone that

Genetic Advantages And Disadvantages
High costs causing a social divide and removing genes are likely to have greater significance
than mental strain, risk of cancer and decreased fertility. This is because both have an impact on
society and evolution. They will impact evolution because future generations will no longer
inherit genetic conditions and can only develop them through mutation, making the population
stronger, healthier and free of conditions. This impacts society as the rich will be the ones
without conditions and the poor who can t afford PGD will still have them. The rich will pass
on their good genes and the poor will pass on their bad genes through many generations causing
society to be impacted across the world and into the future causing social divides. Implications
such as higher risks of cancer and mental strain are not as significant because they only impact
the people directly involved in the process. The mental strain the people experience is only
temporary and does not impact the whole world or offspring from the process, only the people
involved at that moment. The higher risk of cancer, decreased fertility and Ovarian Hyper
Stimulation Syndrome also only affect people directly involved in the process and if offspring
are produced they will not be affected because they are unable to inherit the implications because
they don t occur in the gametes or they occur later in life. Benefits and Disadvantages of PGD One
of the benefits of PGD is that it s available for many different conditions

Men As An Object Of Society Analysis
Men as an Object of Society
A lethal duel between Major von Crampas and Baron von Instetten had taken place in the
seaside resort of Kessin in Eastern Pomerania, resulting in the death of the major (Fontane
Chapter 29 ). The duel occurred as a result of the Major having a love affair with the Baron s wife
six years ago, and was revealed through the previous love letters that had been discovered in the
wife s sewing table. WГјllersdorf, a lawyer and friend to the Baron, was immediately summoned to
deliver the challenge of the duel and to act as a second in the affair (Fontane Chapter 27 ). Dueling
had become a common practice in Germany, much to the point that it questions whether this
practice is an act of one s vengeance or simply an influence ... Show more content on

Being considered a coward is the true insults to male honour that men including Innstetten felt if
he did not provoke a duel. Likewise, the challenged party such as Crampas would feel equally
obliged to accept the duel; otherwise he would infinitely suffer the criticism from the larger society
(Frevent 176). The Baron was quick to notify WГјllersdorf with a note regarding the affair, which
he should have controlled his emotions (Fontane Chapter 27 ). Even when WГјllersdorf had vowed
to keep silent of the affair, Innstetten not wanting to be the object of his sympathy, considered it
too late to undo the dueling request (Fontane Chapter 27 ). He took his pride seriously, and was
convinced that duel was the only solution even when his happiness was at stake (Fontane Chapter
27 ). Nevertheless, Innstetten was unaware that he had become the object of society, chained to the
wishes of the community. Masculinity and honour is defended when one was courageous enough
to fight in a duel, therefore, deserving to be called a man (Frevent 175). Therefore, a sensible man
would take part in dueling to prove to himself, his wife, the adulterers and the entire society of his

  • 2. Open City by Teju Cole Teju Cole s phenomenally written original novel majorly takes place in New York City. Cole character was easy to relate to because of his Nigerian American decent being that I am a Ghanaian American. Cole is a Nigerian American. He was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria and came to the United States in 1992 at the age of seventeen. Cole is also well educated and is a graduate student at Columbia University. I found it insightful how in the novel Cole met several various types of people, including other immigrants. He met and shared stories with a Haitian shoe shiner, at work in Penn Station; a Liberian, imprisoned for over two years in a dentition center in Queens; and a Moroccan student working at an Internet cafГ©. I enjoyed the fact that the narrator was well stocked minded. He touched on the topics of art, music, and interesting books. He had a very eclectic set of interest. Another aspect that attracted me to novel was they way it was written. Although the book did have separate chapters, the way that it is written make the novel flow as if it was one big paragraph. There are moments in the story where characters converse but speech is not noted by quotation marks or paragraph breaks. This is a type of writingthat even the most experience authors fail to accomplish, but Cole made it seem so effortless. Such a style of literature is bound to keep readers interested. If felt as if the reader was reading a diary versus a novel. Included in the novel includes forms of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Population Dynamic of the Legume-Rhizobium System Nitrogen is essential for all forms of life in that it is required to biosynthesize basic building blocks of plants, animals and other life forms. Atmospheric nitrogen is relatively inert; however, the fixation process can free up the nitrogen atoms from their diatomic form (N2) to compound form (NH3) so they could be used in many ways. Biological nitrogenfixation provides about 65% of the biosphere s available nitrogen, and most of this is done by the cooperation between legume and rhizobia. In fact, symbiotic nitrogen fixationby rhizobia in legume root nodules injects approximately 40 million tonnes of nitrogen into agricultural systems each year. The symbioses is achieved through a series of intricate interactions. And rhizobia are found as bacteroids in infected legume hosts root nodules, where they would perform nitrogen fixation and obtain sources of energy (like photosynthate) from the plant. Were there no oppurtunity cost in the fixation process, natural selection among rhizobia would favor those strains whose bacteroids fix the most nitrogen. However, nitrogen fixation is energy intensive. In the case of multiple infection, it is mots likely that the free rider scenario would take place. Cheating rhizobia would exploit plant resources for their own reproduction rather than nitrogen fixation, resulting in their outcompeting the fixing rhizobia and the symbioses falling apart. Thus, host monitoring of symbiont performance and the imposition of sanctions on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Designing A Graphic Organizer That May Provide An Overview... In researching and finding information to develop a graphic organizer that could provide an overview of various types of assessments was insightful. Reading assessments are often mandated by a school district or state to determine where student are academically. In the case of reading test, the data received is supposed to give the assessor and idea of defects and growth of the reader. But is the information received from just one assessment tool giving an accurate and complete picture of reading skills. Assessments may determine if a student is reading with fluency, can comprehend what they have read, are able to decode words, and so on. Because of the variety of assessments it was difficult to narrow the field and select just five. Familiarity with the assessments assisted in my selection. The final five selected were; 1. Collection Portfolio Assessment, 2.Miscue Analysis, 3.Running Record, 4. Criterion Referenced Tests and 5. Each tool assesses reading in a variety of ways. The data they provide can determine the direction of current and future reading instruction. In researching portfolio I learned that there were various format and purposes. Portfolios can be the process oriented or product oriented. The formats I investigated were collection, display and teacher/student portfolios. I selected Collection Portfolio to compare with the other assessments tools. Again I selected this format because I was familiar with it. Even with that I learned that there was ... Certain requirements must be met in order to undertake industrial action under WorkChoices. These requirements are designed to significantly reduce the occurrence of protected industrial action (APH, 2008). The management and resolution of disputes pre Work Choices 2005 involved a massive commitment of both time and energy to work through the resolution processes (ACCI, 2005). All workplace agreements contain a dispute resolution procedure clause. Work Choices makes third party intervention in disputes between employers and employees by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) a last resort, unless industrial action is actually threatened or taking place (APH, 2008). This is said to provide for improved communication and the ability to effectively resolve disputes in the workplace without resorting to a drawn out process involving interested third parties. They are mollusks of the Class Cephalopod, along with the nautilus, cuttlefish, and octopus. Squids are highly evolved, and have developed a number of traits uncommon to most other mollusks. Fossil records of cephalopods have dated back the Cambrian Period (about 600 million years ago). Structurally, squids have only small variations of a basic theme common to all cephalopods. They are spherical or cigar shaped with two fins used to stabilize movement when swimming. Ten arms are easily distinguished emerging from near the mouth Eight of these arms each have four rows of suction cups encircled by rings of chitinous (horny) hooks. These suction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Squids (and cephalopods in general) possess several unusual abilities that help them deal with their predators (which range anything from large fish to sperm whales). Their lack of an external shell allows them to squeeze into very tight places, enabling them to conveniently and easily hide from their enemies. When confronted with a dangerous animal away from hiding places, however, squids seem to have a disadvantage when compared to other mollusks with external shells. If attacked, they have no exterior protection. To counter this potential crisis, they have adapted a number of tactics. First, they are capable of temporarily altering the color of their skin, in effect camouflaging themselves. They can shift their appearance from a deep brown color, to a white, or almost transparent quality. Along with this, they are able to slightly change the texture of their skin. This form of camouflage allows the squid to take the form of rocks, seaweed, or other ocean dwelling objects. If a hazardous foe is not fooled by camouflage, the squid can release an ink cloud. The ink cloud has a number of helpful characteristics that can ward off enemies. The cloud initially causes the nearby water to become dark and cloudy, reducing the enemy s visibility and allowing the squid to escape from danger. Some deep sea squids contain bacteria in their ink so that the cloud glows, and scares away harmful rivals. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Is The Stamp Act Of 1765 Dbq Throughout 1764 to 1774, the British imposed a series of new acts on the colonist which only created stronger unification and brought the colonies closer to rebellion (Schultz, 2010). The first act was known as the Sugar Act of 1764. Although this act decreased the taxed amount on molasses and sugar imported from non British colonies in the West Indies, it was problematic for the colonists as it strengthened the enforcement of collecting taxes. Next, the British imposed the Quartering Act of 1765. The Quartering Act was disrupted the homes of the colonists because it required the colonies to provide food and shelter to British troops that were stationed in their territories. In the same year, the Stamp Act was passed, which required all officials papers such as wills, newspapers, diplomas, and cards to have an embedded stamp proving that the paper or document had indeed been taxed. These acts were were becoming a nuisance to the colonists so they began to organize themselves by forming the Stamp Act Congress (Schultz, 2010). • 17. Analysis Of Lennie In Of Mice And Men Lennie: Perfectly Performed John Malkovich s first film was Places in the Heart, which was in 1984. Eight years later he starred in Gary Sinise and Horton Footes adaptation of John Steinbeck s novella Of Mice and Men. The directing from Sinise and Foote, with performance of John Malkovich as Lennie made Lennie feel as if he was ripped out of the book and became a real person. This helps the audience connect to Lennie s character, giving the readers/ viewers more empathy by slipping into the shoes of Lennie. The Mannerisms, speech impediments, and how the directors use lighting made Lennie s character genuine. Lennie has distinctive mannerisms, and traits in certain situations. After the Red Dress scene, when George and Lennie get on the Train and they are getting ready to sleep, it is very clear that Lennie copies multiple of George s actions. This shows right away that Lennie looks up to George and thinks of George as a leader. Throughout the movie and especially highlighted when George and Lennie are walking to the barn, Lennie is constantly pulling his overalls up. This could imply that he doesn t know how to tighten his pants, or in the most extreme possibility, that George might dress Lennie. With the inclusion of this idiosyncrasy it makes Lennie s character authentic because of his normal day problems. Next, an ample amount of the time Lennie likes to hold his left hand hovering in his chest region, Lennie doesn t let his hand drop. This illustrates Lennie s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Outside Stressors In Schools Case Study These findings supported my hypothesis. In the case of the first hypothesis of where the more time a person spent towards their outside stressors, the greater impact it would have on school work. The results showed that participants, who contributed more time to outside responsibilities, were more likely to feel as if they were being negatively impacted by it. There is one outlier to this in the case of the one student, mother who works 40 hours. This woman was the eldest participant, which may lead to the assumption that with age came more experience at balancing out the extra responsibilities. In the case of my second hypothesis, which was an extension of my 1st, when participants had multiple extra responsibilities, they were more inclined to feel they were being negatively affected. Overall across all the data, when participants had to balanceout two or more outside stressors, they felt their schoolwork was being negatively impacted. In conclusion, the results were in line with the hypothesis. Whether the stressor was work, childcare or sports each had some sort of an impact on schoolwork performance. On sets, the producer is the one who keeps everyone on task and to schedule. Having good time oriented brain has led me to be more proactive in my studies and outside activities. Actually, having anxiety is one of the helpful factors in making me keep on top of deadlines. By being so on top of time, I have never turned in homework late due to how my anxiety does prevent me from procrastinating. Adaptive: Being at an art school, and the fact that I have moved about 8 times in my life, I have learned to be very adaptive. No matter the situation, location, or people I am with, I will be able to work and figure out the problem. This has helped in times like my 64 Film Festival, where we have to film a 7 minute film over a weekend. I have to adapt to where we film and what the script is like to make schedules, and problems happen at a moment s notice. Without being able to adapt, I would not have be capable of producing now 3 (successful, might I add) films in this festival. Critical Thinking: One of my best academic strengths I believe is how much I am a critical thinker. The process takes a lot of time delaying the release of music. Advancement in technology has played a significant role in the music production by lowering the length of time it takes to produce recorded material. Artists usually sign a contract with a recording company that markets their music products. The internet and low cost recording technologies have created a do it yourself music movement. New artists have gained worldwide recognition without landing a recording contract with a major record label. Digital files Digitalization, data compression, and the internet have affected the music industry significantly. These technologies have shifted the recording industries from hard copy recordings to digital music distribution. This has made it easier for consumers to enter the music market through copying. Consumers have access to copying technology that allows them to obtain music without paying the record label. The situations clipped high in 1999 when Napster, a file sharing service was launched. The majority of admissions are not preventable, but research and studies have shown that patients discharged from varying hospitals are more likely to be readmitted to a hospital (Jencks, et al., 2009; Epstein, A et al., 2011). With increased quality of care, hospitals can prevent readmissions while decreasing Medicare costs. For Medicare, readmissions are defined as an admission to an acute care hospital within 30 days of discharge from an acute care hospital (Horwitz, L. et al, 2011). Factors affecting unplanned readmissions vary greatly among providers and geographical region, and are opportunities increase quality and coordination of care, thus improving health outcomes. In 2005, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) conducted the Medicare Claim Finding analysis; MedPAC surveyed hospital Medicaid claims to analyze their hospital readmission data. This research from MedPAC showed that 75% of Medicare admissions were preventable and 17.6% of Medicare admissions resulted with a readmission within 30 days (MedPAC, 2011). Furthermore, this large percentage of preventable admissions were taking a toll on payers financially. One endocrine glandthat is incredibly important in the body is the adrenal gland, as it is essentially responsible for the fight or flight response by secreting Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, and maintaining bodily homeostasis by secreting Aldosterone and Cortisol, although Cortisol also contributes to the stress response. As it s responsible for balancing the water balance, and therefore the secretion and re absorption of Sodium and Potassium in the renal tubules, Aldosterone binds onto mineralcorticoids receptors and this complex moves to the nucleus, which then results in specific mRNA being synthesized and increases or inhibits specific proteins necessary to balance the water levels in the body (Feher 2012). Cortisol is also quite specific in it s actions , for example, it works to increase blood glucose, and therefore strongly targets the liver, muscles, and fat, to metabolize necessary glucose storage s (Nussey Whitehead 2001). Cortisol travels through the bloodstream while binded to Cortisol Binding Protein and diffuse across the outer membrane of the target cells as it s lipid soluble (Jameson Groot 2015), and binds to specific receptors, otherwise known as glucocorticoid receptors, in the cytoplasm which are already associated with heat shock proteins; as the cortisol attaches to the receptor, the heat shock protein is released (Nussey Whitehead 2001). • 29. Analysis Of James Wright s The Blues Essay As Bryan Crable notes, Burke and Ellison had the closest intellectual and social relationship when Burke was writing A Rhetoric of Motives and, I would add, when Ellison was writing Invisible Man. Crable points out that the Rhetoric is the only one of Burke s books to cite Ellison, in large part because Ellison s 1945 essay Richard Wright s Blues (which called Wright s just released memoir Black Boy a nonwhite intellectual s statement of his relationship to western culture that illuminates a conflicting pattern of identification and rejection Г la Joyce, Nehru, and Dostoyevsky) had a major influence on Burke only one month into serious work on his now canonical text ( Blues 263 64, Crable 47 48). The claim that the friendship was important for both Burke and Ellison is certainly true, intervening in a longstanding scholarly conversation on the Burkean influences apparent in Invisible Man (and other works of Ellison s) that paid little attention to the ways in which Ellisonian ideas in fact inspired Burke s work as well. Even with this helpful addition of Crable s, though, the scholarly consensus seems to suggest that Ellison employed Burke s philosophies of literary form in his composition of Invisible Man, while Burke developed his thoughts on the rhetorical dimensions of racebased on Ellison s insights about the conflicts between individual identity and racial identity (Crable 47 48). America needed more resources because it was going through a period of overproduction, as evidenced by the depression of 1893. This way the United States wouldn t merely gain more natural resources, but also new markets, new capitol, and new labor. As Americans set out to lay claim to these new territories, they left with the Social Darwinism belief that stronger ones will naturally dominate weaker nations. Joshia Strong the author of Our Country: Its Possible Future and Its Present Crisis said, the unoccupied arable lands of the earth are limited, and will soon be taken also, that the Anglo Saxon white race highest race should rule, and govern the weaker races. ... Although every entrance has its own unique function, but Using the river entrance to get into the building on level one was less spontaneous than using the western entrance on level zero when I first visited the building. The sense of arrival was not the same as the other entrances; I had to work harder to orientate. I very quickly found my self on the Turbine Hall Bridge, a dead end spacewith not much purpose to it. When the new building opened, the arrival experience on level one dramatically changed. Lots of improvement were shown and the river entrance become more of a way finding route. It now has a comparable sense of arrival as that accomplished at the western entrance. Herzog de Meuron have achieved to create a street running across the Turbine Hall from the north to the south on level one. This entrance very naturally pulled me onto the centre of the Turbine Hall Bridge which felt like the heart of the building with activity visible on either side. I was able to read the building from this central part. I got a sense of the building s shape and the layout which was created in my mind as an imaginary architectural model. This central space really does operate as the heart of the building; it was a great place to plan my first move and start to explore Tate Modern in more detail. The Turbine Hall Bridge and its openings to the landscape on either side, felt like an extension to the bankside s public realm. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Genetic Advantages And Disadvantages High costs causing a social divide and removing genes are likely to have greater significance than mental strain, risk of cancer and decreased fertility. This is because both have an impact on society and evolution. They will impact evolution because future generations will no longer inherit genetic conditions and can only develop them through mutation, making the population stronger, healthier and free of conditions. This impacts society as the rich will be the ones without conditions and the poor who can t afford PGD will still have them. The rich will pass on their good genes and the poor will pass on their bad genes through many generations causing society to be impacted across the world and into the future causing social divides. Implications such as higher risks of cancer and mental strain are not as significant because they only impact the people directly involved in the process. The mental strain the people experience is only temporary and does not impact the whole world or offspring from the process, only the people involved at that moment. The higher risk of cancer, decreased fertility and Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome also only affect people directly involved in the process and if offspring are produced they will not be affected because they are unable to inherit the implications because they don t occur in the gametes or they occur later in life.
