Destiny Review Rebuttal
Jacob Gornall GS 1001 Dr. Ferrell 01/12/2016 Destiny Review Rebuttal Destiny was one of the
most anticipated games of 2014 and it was hyped up to be Bungie s next masterpiece. This was
Bungie s take on borderlands, which I mean let s be real, Borderlands 2 was a knock out,
especially compared to Destiny. Graphically, Destiny is truly a beautiful and diverse looking
game, especially when you explore the planets opposed to the downtrodden atmosphere of Earth.
Whether it s the lush forests of Venus or the red deserts of Mars (Impulse Gamer Admin, 2014).
The graphics are amazing and the worlds are beautiful, but you are really given little reason to
explore at all once you get the 5 chests on each planet you re done, there s really no reason

Ethical Issues Of Social Media
Ethical Issues in Social Media
Emerging Information Technologies are faced with numerous ethical issues. One of the most
centers of ethical debate in Information Technology is social networks. Social networking has
changed from a niche phenomenon to mass adoption. Although the concept of social networking
was formulated in the 1960s, the advent of fast internet has sent the concept viral. Currently, social
networks have been dogged with myriad ethical issues. Privacy issues are the epicenter of these
ethical issues. Some of the ethical problems that have emanated from social networks include
hacking, stalking, credit card theft, and social network identity theft. Resultantly, most of social
media users are haunted by the dilemmas such as how much personal information to put on social
media, how they can control the audience of their profiles, and whether the information they delete
from their profiles is well disposed of. This paper highlights the social network technology, and the
ethical issues associated with it.
Describing Social Network The concept of social networking was coined back in the 1960s when
the University of Illinois launched a Plato computer based education tool (Gross Acquisti, 2005).
Social network is founded on the idea that there is a predictive structure in which people know
each other either directly or indirectly. Social networking technology works on notions such as six
degrees of separation which states that everyone on earth is separated from

El Salvador American Culture
El Salvador is in Central America, bordering the Pacific Ocean between Guatemala and Honduras. It
is the smallest country in continental America and is often called Pulgarcito de America, the Tom
Thumb of the Americas. The Latin American culture interest me. Enriched with tradition, lyrical
language, vibrant colors and beautiful beaches. What is the difference between El Salvadoran
culture and American Culture? What are their values, norms and traditions? What are the
contemporary issues for this group? The consequences of subordinate group status? Many people

$2 dollars per day. The harsh reality of economic circumstances obligates children in El Salvador
to contribute to their family s survival. Employers providing this thin economic lifeline surely to
acquire control over the children. This economic control is a greater aspect of contemporary
slavery and is demonstrated through violence or bleeding. The enslavement of children in El
Salvador not only steals their youth and opportunity to receive an education, but it also places
innocent beings into a dangerous work force. Poverty is a big problem in El Salvador. Central
American migration to the United States, has been driven mainly by economic hardship and
political instability. In 2013, approximately 3.2 million Central American immigrants resided in
the United States, the majority from Northern Triangle formed by El Salvador, Guatemala, and
Honduras, representing 7 percent of the country s 41.3 million immigrants. The Central American
population in the United States was very small in the 1950s and 1960s, consisting of a mix of
privileged individuals and low skilled workers. The Central American immigrant population began
its rapid increase in the late 1970s when a series of civil wars broke out in the region. Thousands
of Salvadorans and Guatemalans, many from rural areas with little formal education, fled north in
response to the repression and violence of war. In contrast, those who

Panic ! At The Disco (P ! ATD)
Panic! At the Disco Panic! At the Disco (P!ATD) is a pop punk rock band that consists of the
lead singer and face of the group, Brendon Urie, and several unnamed/unpopular guitarists and
drummers. The biggest competitor for P!ATD is the other main stream pop punk rock band
called Fall Out Boy (FOB) which consists of Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy
Hurley. Although P!ATD and FOB have similar musical styles, the different music videos each
group presents, the varying tunes and lyrics, and disparate stage presence during live concerts, is
why I lean toward P!ATD as my favorite overall band, with FOB falling just behind it. The
themes and theatrics behind P!ATD music videos are superior to FOB music videos. The themes
P!ATD choose are deep and meaningful and at a first glance, doesn t even seem to relate to the

One of my favorites lyrics from P!ATD song, Don t Threaten Me With A Good Time, is
Memories tend to just pop up/Drunk pre meds and some rubber gloves/Five thousand people

I surprisingly started laughing out loud in public (I m a pre med student). Ever since then, I
became a fan of P!ATD and I can proudly say that I know the lyrics to 80% of their songs. FOB
lyrics are catchy but not as comedic and unique as I would like. For example, in their song My
Song Knows What You Did in the Dark, the chorus is I m a young lover s rage/Gonna need a
spark to ignite/My song knows what you did in the dark/So light em up up up..., the lyrics are
somewhat predictable and not that memorable as the lyrics used in P!ATD songs. Because of the
lyrics and tune that P!ATD use, I find myself looking more forward to listening to P!ATD songs

I had a case which was really hard because a 40 year old woman who I helped she presented me a
lot of situations. According with Erickson in his stages, she is part of middle adulthood, in the stage
of generativity versus stagnation. In this stage, adults experience more stress that can create
problems in their different spheres.
According with this woman, she was unemployed because the work agency where she worked
fired for non reason (social dimension). Then, for this cause she had three days to leave her home
because she did not have money to pay the rent (social dimension). Also, she had a U visa for
problems with domestic violence (psychosocial dimension). So, she was a single mother of a girl.
Additional, she had a sister with cancer in an advance phase in Guatemala (biological dimension,

Book Review Of Persepolis
Persepolis, written by Marjane Satrapi, is a story of a young girl growing up in Iran during the
1980 s. The book is told is a comic strip format, which enables the reader to better visualize what
is really occurring. The main character in the story is a girl named Marjane Satrapi. This book
gives the reader a firsthand look into the life of a girl who is forced to grow up without any of
the freedoms those in the United States take for granted. The book starts off with a confused
Marji, who does not understand why she is being forced to wear a veil to school. She also doesn t
understand why her school no longer has boys either. These changes mark the beginning of political
and religious turmoil in Iran. Marji s familyis very active in political protesting and support the
revolutionaries, including Marji s uncle Anoosh. Anoosh fled to the U.S.S.R due to the Iranian
regime thinking he was a spy. Marji and Anoosh had a very strong bond. He taught her about her
families past and his experiences in prison. Soon after Anoosh and eventually executed. Because
of her family s actions, Marjis one passion is social activism. Her dream is to become the next
prophet. Eventually Marji s parents decide that Iran is not a suitable place for Marji to be. Being
as independent and outspoken as she is, these attributes often get her in trouble and lead to her
being expelled. Fearing for what bigger punishments might come, Marji s parents ultimately decide

Determinations Of Sucrose Concentration In Solanum...
Independent variable
Sucrose concentration (M) (В±0.01 g) This variable would impact the investigation as the higher
the concentration of sucrose that is used in this experiment, the average percent change in mass in
Solanum tuberosum core will decrease. This will occur due to the fact as the solute concentration
begins to increase in the water, the solution will eventually become hypertonic, thus the percent
change in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core will start to decrease as water molecules move
from a region of low solute concentration inside the core to the higher solute concentration outside
of the core.
The amount of sucrose will be manipulated by concentrating it with water. The required amount of
sucrose for this experiment would be calculated using the formula:
Molarity (M) = moles of solute/ Litres of solution
Mass of solute = (moles of solute) (molar mass of solute)
Dependent variable
Average percent change in mass (%) Since the goal of this experiment is to estimate the osmolarity
of the Solanum tuberosum core, it is appropriate to measure the average percent change in mass, as
when the sucrose concentration is increased, the average percent change in mass will decrease.
Eventually, as the sucrose concentration increases, the Solanum tuberosum core will reach a 0%
change in mass, where the osmolarities will be equal.
The average percent change in mass will be determined by first finding the difference in mass of the
Solanum tuberosum core

The Intellectual Property Case Study
Intellectual Property Case Study
1)Introduction:
Trademark : A trademark is a recognizable insignia, phrase or other symbol that denotes a specific
product or service and legally differentiates it from all other products. It also serves to exclusively
identify a product or service with a specific company, and is a recognition of that company s
ownership of the brand. Trademarked products are generally considered a form of property. Most
countries have agencies through which businesses can have their products trademarked. One of the
main purposes of having a product trademarked is to protect the product from being used without
permission of the source company. Most countries have patent laws which are designed to protect
against copyright infringement. International copyright regulation is much more complicated, as
there exists no universally recognized patent office.
Patent : A patent is a government license that gives the holder exclusive rights to a process, design
or new invention for a designated period of time. Applications for patents are usually handled by a
government agency. You can use a patent to protect your invention. It gives you the right to take
legal action against anyone who makes, uses, sells or imports it without your permission.
To be granted a patent, your invention must be all of the following:
Something that can be made or used
New

Examples Of Foolishness In The Great Gatsby
Tom is having an affair since he wants to experience life without it getting boring. The version of
Daisy and Tom s American Dream portrays the fakeness and insincerity of the human nature.
Selfishness creates the tone of not caring for others and focusing on oneself. The American Dream
is also a mystery to many people, due to the fact there are many unknowns and hidden aspects to it.
Within The Great Gatsby, there are characters who have secrets and hide important information
about their background. For example, Gatsby is a character shrouded in unknowns. When Gatsby

Dream. Within the American Dream and throughout the novel, there is the aura of selfishness
and fakeness. The time after the war was a time of opportunity to further oneself and forget
others feelings in times of sorrow. For example, not one person came to Gatsby s funeral: The
minister glanced several times at his watch, so I took him aside and asked him to wait for half
an hour. But it wasn t any use. Nobody came (170). Even though the masses always came to his
parties, people valued themselves over others who provided so much for them and they never
cared for Gatsby. Lastly, when Nick meets Tom again, he fully understands how the people in his
life, although striving for happiness, could not care if others fail to be happy: They were careless

Case 6.1 Wild Horses
Grand Canyon University: ADM 624

In my opinion the Bureau of Land Management has had a great impact with all the services they

maintaining the care, services, shelter, and feeding of these horses. I understand the need and want
to keep the horses population from dying out being instinct and letting them run freely in the wild
as they are known to do. Not all animals should be restricted to where they can roam to just as

Now with all these know facts, acts, opinions all viewed as good and bad a decision can be made
by looking at what is helping and what is not helping. What was the main goal and purpose of
the program? Has it been met and if so are all the requirements and rules being kept and met to.
Also have to look and what is going to help keep the funding up and enough of it to maintain the
BLM up and running for years to come. This means abiding by the required rules regardless of
what the public or anyone else thinks. The key factor here is that the BLM is making sure they
are keeping these horses race alive, well, free to run, and very populated. By sticking to destroying
and selling off with no limits then the BLM s would not even be in this situation.

Capital Gains and Dividends
Capital Gains and Dividends Under a source concept of capital gains, the business is the source
from which gains flow; how does this differ from the trust concept of income from a business?
The trust concept of income from a business indicates that the business is being managed in a
particular way. When a business is in trust, there is a requirement that it be managed ethically
(Unit 2, n.d.). That includes the income the business receives. This is very different from the way
a standard business is run, because a trustee operates the business and is in charge of managing the
income that comes from the business while it is in trust, along with other aspects of the business
(Unit 2, n.d.). Overall, the income that arrives at a business while it is in trust is under much more
scrutiny than income that comes into a standard business. While it is not taxed any differently than
regular income, there is more scrutiny regarding it. Additionally, the capital gains concept is
changed when the business is in trust, because the trustee and the business are not the same entity.
Even if the business is making money, that money may not be able to be classified and taxed in
the same way as it would be without being in trust (Unit 2, n.d.). What is the reasoning for
excluding inter corporate dividends (drd s)? Inter corporate dividends are seen differently from
other types of dividends, capital gains, and income. These kinds of dividends have been subject to
double taxation

This in turn would lead to more consumption at the top of the food chain, eliminating the predators
to creatures at the lower end of the food chain. This would cause their numbers to rise, which
would lead to irreparable damage to the ever fragile ecosystem.
Another reason that disease is needed was defined by Thomas Malthus. His concept is called the
Malthusian Law, which states that the population will increase geometrically while the food supply
will increase arithmetically. This, simply put, means that the population will grow enormously
faster than the food supply will. Predictably, this leads to starvation and death. Disease, as a natural
check, prevents this from happening. As the population is checked, the supply of food can keep up
with the growth of population, keeping the ecosystem balanced. If disease was not a prevalent
factor to check the growth of population, then the Malthusian Law certainly would be.
However, checking the growth of population is not the only reason the disease is needed.

Misandry Jane Eyre
Men are sexist creatures who deserve every cruel act they ve inflicted on women for centuries.

Medicated Footwear Literature Review
Literature review
With the passage of time, the footwear problems are increasing more and more day by day.
Currently in Pakistan there is no local brand of medicated footwear. It has become a need of
people suffering from diseases related to footwear. The sole used in medicated footwear is
specially designed which provides comfort to the muscles and relieves stress or pain related to foot.
Most of the medicated footwear problems can be avoided using special insoles which are used in
the medicated footwear. The percentage of foot ulcers in diabetic patients are increasing with the
passage of time and the only natural and good way to avoid them is adopting the special medicated
footwear which will benefit the patient in many ways The percentage ... Show more content on

What Are The Causes Of The Battle Of Isandlwana
After the British arrived at the Cape, their influence and power spread to all areas of southern
Africa. This colonisation was met with conflict and resistance, involving many indigenous groups,
and led to tense skirmishes with the Zulu Nation. This struggle between the Zulus and the English
led to the Battle of Isandlwana, one of the most famous British defeats in history. The causes
involved demands for labour and land, however there was an ulterior motive as to why Zululand
was invaded.
Regarding Anglo Zulu relations, the British felt that the Zulu Nation posed a great military threat
against the White Natal Colony and the Transvaal. The British sought to set up a Federation of
White colonies and states in South Africa in 1879 , however they felt vulnerable due to the fear
caused by the very near Zulu menace (Source D). This specific fear of the Zulu nation was
dominant because at the time Cetshwayo had transformed the Zulus into a stronger and mightier
power, and therefore was more of a threat towards the British. This fear of the Zulus potentially
overthrowing the white government spread to other regions of South Africa, where the settlers
hoped that the white government would stay in power. So the British felt it necessary to cause
conflict with the Zulus in 1879 over the control of Zululand, and to the ... Show more content on

Technology And The Future Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
The package comes, but there is no deliverer. A tractor is plowing the field after a successful
harvest, but there is no driver. This is the future of technology, and more specifically, unmanned
aerial vehicles. UAVs, more commonly referred to as drones, have been advancing for decades now.
Their advancement has not come without opposition though, and while this argument is
concentrated behind drones role in technologies machination over society, the true reality is a shift
to mechanization, a progression the United Stateshas seen before. Historically, many economic
shifts have affected the US, including the shift from agrarian society to industrialization in the
Gilded Age, periods which allowed the US to dominate the world economy,... Show more content

In addition, farmers who are subject to working conditions along with the simple nature of human
abilities which detract from their ability to inspect a field compared to technology, are eliminated in
UAV practices of inspection. The benefit transfers down the line of agriculturewhen the product
the farmer was able to grow has ended up at the grocery store, and by the same means, the support
for the drones integration is bound to follow.
More acute compared to the agricultural and rural sectors, is the commercial interest of drones
through manufacturers and retailers like Amazon. These have come in headlines labeled as an
innovation and as an intrusion, bringing more opposition than other areas of use. In an article by
Trevir Nath, it is estimated that every year integration is delayed; the US loses $10 billion in
financial growth (Nath 2). This is undermined by the citizens of Syracuse who believe that as the
nation becomes more accustomed to drones...fewer people will oppose their use in war and in
commercial application that intrude upon American s privacy (Semuels 2). Such strong arguments
have came to light because of the growing drone hub in their area. They worry about the local
economy as well, and more importantly jobs. Dave Kashmer, a protestor, falls under the
opposition, and stated It s not going to produce jobs for a Syracusan... These arguments lend to a
primary consequence of a shift to drone technology a job market shift. Syracusans

Waste Trafficking Through Illegal Transnational Business
Waste trafficking refers to the traffic of hazardous wastes through illegal transnational business that
involves a variety of criminal groups such as private entities, corrupt government officials, and
organized crime groups (Liddick 134). According to environment professor Don Liddick, By the
late twentieth century transnational organized criminals, corporate polluters, and corrupt public
officials have discovered the means to profit from the traffic in household garbage,
chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), and even radioactive wasteillicit industries that rival the international
drug trade in scope and profitability (Liddick 134). Waste is considered hazardous if it is

In order to have a better understanding of waste trafficking it is important to examine what
facilitates it, the links it has to organized crime groups, and what steps have been taken to counter
it. There are four factors that increase the likelihood of waste trafficking. The first factor is strict
international regulations. As regulations are implemented, new markets start to emerge. In 1991,
for example, the Bamako Convention imposed a ban on the import of hazardous waste into African,
Pacific, and Caribbean countries, but traffickers found alternative routes and destinations to Europe
and China. The second

Impact Of Globalization On The Economies Of Developing...
Introduction: Financial theory in most of the situations supports the positive effect of
globalization and openness in trade for developing nation s economic growth, whereas some
theorists disagree to the long term gains of liberalization in trade on country s economy. Staring
from this general perception of economists on liberalization of trade, the purpose of this article is
to put more thoughts on The Importance of Trade in Stimulating the Economies of Developing
Nations Trade policy for developing nations: There has been a drastic increase to the importance
of trading in the global economy in past five decades. Trade has grown much more rapidly and
most of the countries that have grown have done rapid increases in their participation in world
trade. In 1930s the industrial specialized countries began reductions in protection from the high
level, the process of policy reform was not just to reduce tariffs. During period of 1950s, a vital
element of globalization and openness was the elimination of restrictions presented for
equalization of trade. This process of liberalization had many challenges to face. During the same
period, agriculture industry neglected from the multilateral system and this decision was made to
support domestic agriculture industry support price. In the mid 1950s there was a rapid growth in
world trade and in the liberalization of economies. According to a report world trade in this period

American Sign Language And Numerical Stories
A Z stories in American Sign Language and numerical stories as well were introduced around the

as early as the 1900 s at the Ohio School for the Deaf (Bauman). However, with the advanced
technology of the 20th century American Sign Languagenumerical and A Z stories may be cherished
and videorecorded for future generations (American Sign Language Literature). What are A Z and

Although, there rules that apply to both forms of storytelling. The first rule is that the story
incorporates paralinguistic mechanisms such as pausing, space, etc. (Bauman). The second rule
is that the story flows naturally, and clearly makes sense. It is not allowed that a storyteller has a
story that is choppy or jumpy to the point that the viewer does not understand. One of the most
important rules is that the storyteller succeeds in continuing the story in alphabetical, or
numerical, order. Similarly, if one tells the story in the reverse order, one cannot skip a letter, or
number (Bauman). Lastly, for alphabetical stories there are allowable deviations and those that
are not allowed. For example, many storytellers interchange 2 hand shapes such as N, H, U, and
V. This deviation, along with the interchange of the 3 hand shapes M and W, are allowable
deviations (Bauman). However, the usage of the time out sign as T in A Z stories is an example of
a deviation that is not allowed (Bauman). These vital rules to alphabetical and numerical
storytelling aid in contributing to the overall purpose. A Z and numerical stories have multiple
purposes, however, the main purpose is that of a source of entertainment (American Sign Language
Literature). Similar to our American Sign Language class, classes throughout the world are
assigned to create or research A Z and numerical stories for school assignments. Although, they are

Differences And Similarities Between Stanford Prison...
There are many similarities between the behavior of the wardens in Stanford Prison Experiment
and the behavior of the soldiers at the prison in Abu Ghraib. I think the first and most obvious
comparison would be the blatant misuse and abuse of power. In both instances the figures in
authority were aware of their ability to make demands that their subordinates had to comply with,
and they took full advantage of it.
We see this expressed in emotional abuse that the prisoners had to endure. In both cases we forced
to perform demeaning tasks for no apparent reason. There were a number instances where the
prisoners were forced to be nude and were taunted. In the Stanford Prison Experiment the inmates
were teased about their genitals while in Abu

Urban Environment is the natural, built and institutional elements that determine the physical,

The urban environment is more than a physically defined entity. It includes the environmental and

aspects of the geography and politics of cities. Hence, governance arrangements, cultural identities

Mechanical Properties And Thermal Analysis
Composite structure is a combination of two or more different items that may be distinguished
physically, resulting in a final product that has a better performance from each component
individually done. It consists of matrix composite materials (polymer, metal or ceramic) and one or
more stages of reinforcement (fibers, particles, flakes, or fillers). The combination of the different
elements appropriately to achieve a system with structural or functional characteristics of the best
that can be achieved through one of the components alone. The vehicle has become an essential part
of the day because of the material advantages such as low weight, high corrosion resistance, high
strength and fatigue, and faster assembly. Used widely as raw materials in the airframe industry,

The increased use of composite materials for various applications underlines its importance
/ significance in mechanical properties and thermal analysis of an engineering system. The thermal
conductivity of a composite material (combination of two or more components) can be measured by
experimental methods. Analytical equations are essential to predict the thermal conductivity of a

A Report On The Bill Of Costs
Good Morning John,
I note from your initial instructions for the above matter that there is a further sum of money
that you wish for me to include in the Bill of Costs. At this stage I am unsure as to what these
costs have resulted from but there are strict rules as to what and how we recover costs and I
wanted to briefly explain the same. If the costs have not been incurred or cannot be claimed
under your retainer then recovering them will not be possible without breaching statutory or
regulatory obligations. It is essential that the retainer is valid for all of the costs you wish to
recover as without this validity you as the solicitor will not be able to recover costs (JH Milner Son
v Percy Bilton Ltd [1966] 1 WLR).
Your right to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you have not informed your client and if there is no contractual right to increase rates in the
retainer then unfortunately we will be bound by what is contractually stated. The costs of the
litigation have been incurred on behalf of the Claimant, the Bill must therefore represent what the
Claimant has agreed to pay to you for your services. We cannot recover any costs that the Claimant
is not liable to pay.
Furthermore, as per the Law of Contract we cannot include costs until you have actually carried out
the work so if the costs you mention are in relation to work you are going to do then unfortunately
we cannot seek any remuneration as the matter has now settled.
____________________________________________
If your instructions refer to including costs relating to work that is not on file then we must ensure
that compliance with the Codes is maintained. If you have done the work then we can include it as
it should be able to be evidenced through the work done and we can justify this to the paying
party; but without evidence the costs will be difficult to recover if they come into dispute. The Bill
needs to be sufficiently particularised, otherwise costs could be void for inadequate information (Re
Kingsley 1978).

Michael Newdow s Pledge Of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it
stands, one nation, under Congress, the Supreme Court, the Declaration of Independence, our
founding fathers, and the President, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Francis Bellamy wrote the Pledge of Allegiance in 1892 (Baer). He did this in the memory of the
400th anniversary of Columbus discovering America ( The Pledge ). In 1954, Congress added the
words, under God to the pledge; this was done for the differentiation of the United States from the
Soviet Union during the Cold War.
Recently, there has been great controversy about the words under God existing in the nations
Pledge of Allegiance. Michael Newdow, a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Placing God in the pledge was thought of as a term that could be applied to all religions and creeds;
thus, the word God would be describing something more than just material existence.
Building the basis of the United States was the founding fathers of the nation. They were not all
necessarily under a Christian belief; nonetheless, they did wish for the people of the United States
to have morals and values (Williams).
On the contrary, some people do not feel that the nation should follow what the founding fathers
thought and did. Gewertz states, We decide to keep these sayings or traditions in play just because
they were the values of our founding fathers. I have to say that not all the values of our founding
fathers are values I want to embody.
Despite the fact that the founding fathers assumed the existence of an almighty power, they also
protected the right of the people to believe or not. Gewertz does not agree with all ideas of the
founding fathers, but he also says, the phrase under God is in keeping with the intentions of the
Founding Fathers. They anchored their thinking in the idea of a higher law in order to ensure that
all power does not reside in the state. Agreeing with Gewertz, Cameron thinks that the founding
fathers would not be too happy with the way things are going now.
Furthermore, in recognition of the words under God being added to the Pledge of Allegiance,
President Eisenhower told of how thankful he was

After America s independence from the British empire in 1783, BNA had much better access to
new technologies that allowed them to industrialize more quickly. The colony had been based
around mercantilism, so it only made sense that its industries would be based around transport of
goods and products. One example is MontrГ©al s Lachine Canal. Built in the 1820s, it was a very
popular form of transportation. Manufacturing factories and businesses developed in and around
major metropolitan areas like Toronto and MontrГ©al but the shift to an economy that measured
wealth in money rather than land had devastating effects during the Great Depression. During the
Great Depression, many Canadians moved into urban areas. This resulted in cramped and
unsanitary living conditions where disease was rampant. It was during this time when what is
often considered the Second Industrial Revolution began. In Canada, the revolution began with
advances in brewing, flour milling, textiles, and shipbuilding but later evolved to mass
automated moving assembly lines, large scale factories, and mass production of automobiles.
The Second World War heavily pushed the Second Industrial Revolution and by the 1970s, the
Digital Revolution was well underway. World War II ended the Great Depression and created
many jobs all over the world. It sparked a massive intervention amongst state planners and by the
war s end, Canada was at full employment. Industrial work peaked in the 1950s and
deindustrialization began to occur in Canada and the USA in the 1960s, with the rise of automated
machines. By this point, many state policies corresponding to the needs of an industrialized society
had been implemented, making an easier way of life for the poor and working

Kniver states that researchers observed assassin bugs (Stenolemus bituberus) preying on spiders by
mimicking prey trapped in a web through a behavior called aggressive mimicry1. Stenolemus
bituberus will first disturb one of the strands of a spiders web, tricking the spider into thinking that it
has caught a bug. As the spider approaches the source of the disturbance, the assassin bug thrusts

similar to the low amplitude web movements generated by exhausted prey. Additionally, the
researchers found that the assassin bugs never generated the distinctive vibration caused by prey
landing on the web, nor did they create the high amplitude long duration web vibrations caused by
the wing beats of struggling prey2. They also found that prey continuously generated high
amplitude vibrations as they struggled in the web, while the leaf only generated one large

experience with my resident and performed an assessment known as a SPICES. This assessment
allows us as caregivers to identify and help provide nursing interventions to an elderly that may
face these geriatric syndromes. During a SPICES assessment, we look for signs of problems
during sleep, problems eating, incontinence, confusion, as well as evidence of any falls and any
possible skin breakdown. During my assessment, I encountered many medical conditions my
patient has that supports that she is having problems with a few of the geriatric syndromes.
When it comes to sleep, my patient does not seem to sleep very well and has difficulty falling
asleep. There are no signs that my resident has any problems with her everyday feeding and
eating. She is able to perform this daily activity individually. As for having trouble with
incontinence, for the most part this resident is able to tell a caregiver when she has to use the
restroom. To make herself more comfortable at night she will not eat or drink anything too late
which prevents her from having to use the bathroom during sleep hours. While she will not ask
for help, if the need arises, she will use a bed pan. However, on rare occasions the patient may
have an accident while sleeping because there was no feeling that she had to

What Is The Aged Mother Essay
The Aged Mother
Do you love stories? Well if you love it I m pretty sure that every story you read have virtues or
values. Thus, every single story has a virtue in life that we can use to live. Virtue is a quality of
moral goodness or excellence. When we speak of individual virtues, we are talking about qualities
that we aspire to. A virtuemust be cultivated for it to become a habitual way of living in the world
around us.
I have picked a story about the virtue of love and wisdom. Because I believe to our Christian faith
that the supreme virtue is love and also to the wisdom that was given by God that helps us decide
correctly. So I have selected this story that will show you a mother s absolute love that will touch
your hearts, about a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On their track to the summit, the weak mother observed the unsafe track and thought that her son
doesn t know the tracks and could pass through danger so she grasped for branches of trees,
broke them to parts and silently throw them down till they reached the summit. The poor farmer
released his mother and made comfortable pillow and say his goodbye. Before he left her, she told
him about the path she built, and then the farmer understood that they must face the law with each
other so he carried his mother once more on his back and began walking back. When they reached
back, he said the emperor his narrative and the emperor listened to his story and removed the law.
Did you know that an element of narrative helps us to deeply understand the story? So I have
made here the elements of narrative of the Aged Mother story. First Let us go with the setting of
the story the setting of the story happened at Shinano a province in Japan at the foot of the
mountain where the mother and his son live. I really love to go to Japan because there s nothing
else like the Japanese tea ceremony, or the skill of placing on a kimono. Then there s Japanese
lettering, floral preparation, martial arts, haiku. Japan has so many nice rituals and art forms

Micro and Macro Marketing
MICRO AND MACRO MARKETING ENVIRONMENT
Introduction
Micro marketing
Refers to the internal controllable factors or forces which affects the ability of a company to serve
its customers. e.g. the organization, the market, the suppliers, market intermediaries and the
marketing mix. The micro marketing environment that surrounds organisations can be complex by
nature, however the company has an element of control over how it operates within this
environment.
Macro marketing
Refers to the external factors or forces which affects the ability of the company to externally and
internally serve its customers.eg. Demography, economic, cultural, political, competitors, legal
technology. The macro marketing environment takes into account... Show more content on

Therefore marketing makes must be formulated on the basis of economic indices
c)Social cultural environment
The social cultural forces influence the organization in the long run. Society keeps on changing
now and then. New demands are emerging and old ones lost, this adversely affects the marketing
plans of a business enterprise. There are three aspects of social environment namely:
i.Change in life styles and social values. e.g. changing role of women, emphasis on quality of the
goods instead of quantity. ii. Major social problems. E.g. concern on pollution of our environment,
social responsible marketing, concern of safety in occupation and in products etc. iii. Growing
consumerlisation. This is concern with the customer satisfaction. The marketers are now called
upon not only to deliver goods of high standards but also assure quality of life of its customers and
all citizens.
d)Political and legal forces
The government activities and legal forces affect the marketing activities of an enterprise because a
change in law relate to production a certain product forces an enterprise to comply in order to carry
out its activities. This means the organizational has to make some adjustment to its marketing
which may cause delay of the products to its consumers. eg Anti pollution laws influence marketing
plans and policies

Food Intake 3 Days Essay
Food Intake 3 Days According to the World Health Organization, Nutrition is the intake of food,
considered in relation to the body s dietary needs. Good nutrition an adequate, well balanced diet
combined with regular physical activity is a cornerstone of good health. Poor nutrition can lead to
reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development,
and reduced productivity. (World Health Organization, 2012) Nothing is more important than
following a healthy diet. Eating the wrong foods or not eating enough of the right ones can deprive
the body of the essential nutrients it needs to keep working at full power. Maintaining a healthy diet
can help boost the immune system, improve... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the recommendations, I came in below the suggested amount for all three
categories. Carbohydrates are the body s primary source of energy. Without adequate
carbohydrates, a person may feel fatigued and weak, as the body looks elsewhere for sources of
energy. A severe lack of carbohydrates can deprive critical bodily organs the necessary energy to
properly function. Lipids are naturally occurring organic compounds that include fats and oils.
An excess of some lipids can increase the chances of certain health problems, lipids are vital
nutrients to a healthy body. Lipids are necessary for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins. A
diet too low on lipids lowers the level of good cholesterol, decreases the body s energy level and
can disturb the body s formation of cells and cell functions. During the three days of documented
intake, my fiber consumption was only 24.3% of the daily recommendation. Fiber helps
promote proper digestive functions, helps lower cholesterol, and helps in lowering the risk of
diabetes and heart disease. My intake was too low based on the recommended consumption, and
according to the data, I should eat more foods that are rich in fiber. These can be insoluble fiber
sources like wheat bran and nuts or soluble fiber sources like oats, beans, and apples. The only
foods that provided fiber in my meals were the bagels.

The Disquieting Duckling Asger Jorn
The Disquieting Duckling by Asger Jorn (1959) is oil on canvas painting. The style of this painting
is Neo Dada, a movement with audio, visual and literary manifestations that had similarities in
method or intent with earlier Dada artwork. Asger Jorn played a massive role in this movement.
The title refers to a fairy tale by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersencalled The Ugly
Duckling. The story is about a duckling that is born in a corral and who suffers abuse from his
surroundings until, much to his delight and the surprise of others, matures into a beautiful swan,
the most beautiful bird of all. In the story, there are descriptions of this idyllic scenery, where all
appears to be nice and beautiful but is not. They feel disturbed by the duckling because it is
different and does not fit in.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The duckling was printed on the image. Another reason why the duckling is misplaced in this
painting, is that it is not formally a part of the art. It is a painting found at a flea market that Jorn
has modified. He makes only the abstracted elements, but since he chose to paint on this exact
surface, it holds a great significance as his adjustments. The Painting can roughly be divided into
two. The left side of the natural elements and the house that is made by an unknown painter and
with its naturalistic style is in high contrast to the right side with the duckling made by Asger Jorn
himself. The duckling is painted with very aggressive brush strokes that creates a movement in the
figure. It has an extensive range of colors uses primary and secondary pure colors to produce light.
The placement of the house gives a geometric element in the composition with the straight lines.
The house is an essential part of the painting because it adds the geometrical element and the
element of humans in what otherwise is nature and abstracted organic shapes. The bottom base is
somewhat neutral and unifies the two

A Report On The Law Of The Saudi Arabia
Saudis accord a lot of importance to their heritage and their families are usually large and extended.
They take their responsibility towards their family quite seriously and hiring someone they trust for
help is very common.
Saudi Arabia is one of the most conservative countries in the world and follows a strict
patriarchal system. Indeed, women only represent 16% of the workforce and their main duties are
towards their families. It is the only country in the world where it is forbidden for a woman to
drive, vote or travel anywhere without authorization from a male guardian (father or husband). All
of these aspects result in a mediocre gender inequality index rating (135 over 146) and global
gender gap index (131st). In addition, women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During meetings, women must cover their legs, cleavage and upper arms.
Sex segregation is dominant (Purdah: separation of men and women) and public social interactions
between men and women are weakly tolerated. For instance, the law forbids showing affection in
public. Moreover, most public places have separate entrances for men and women and public
transportation, schools, and offices are not integrated.
According to Kim s Model of Intercultural conflict, there are three levels that can lead to conflicts.
In this case, since the intermediary level is characterized by a high segregation of opposite sexes in
public spaces, and low daily interactions, it results in a high potential of intercultural conflicts
between foreign businesswomen and male Saudi citizens.
Some actions have been recently taken into consideration in order to ameliorate the situation for
women. The latest royal reform of King Abdullah allows women to run as political candidates and
vote by 2015. This is a positive initiative that might lead to more equality between both genders in
the future.
Saudi Arabia is a high context culture. They rely heavily on the context of situations and thus
prefer an indirect communication style. They are very concerned with saving face, and this style
enables them to do so. Saudis do not like to explicitly say No to business deals but will use more
ambiguous terms such as we ll think about it or Insh alla

Essay on Bio Warfare
Biological warfare is war waged with deadly chemicals, biological agents, or radioactive
materials (CBR). They can be used to kill large amounts of people, destroy food, or just
temporarily stun them for a matter of time so troops can come in and torture them or do whatever
troops led by an manipulative tyrant who destroys everything. Using CBR, allowed you to kill
everything and leave the buildings standing instead of nuclear weapons which destroy everything,
put fallout in the air, and have radioactivematerials wash into the ground and streams. Using deadly
chemicalsin war has been going on since the early 1900 s during World War I (1914 1918).

The Hague Conference of 1899 made an attempt to outlaw projectiles carrying poison gases; the
agreement to this effect lasted only until W.W.I. In Geneva in 1925 a League of Nations
protocol against chemical and biological war was signed; it was not, however, ratified by the
United States until 1975. The treaty outlaws the first use of such weapons in warfare, but nations
generally reserve the right to use them in retaliation. Agreements totally banning chemical
warfare have proved difficult to achieve. A treaty totally banning biological warfare was drawn
up by the Geneva Disarmament Conference in 1971 and approved by the United Nations General
Assembly. Some 80 nations signed the Biological Weapons Convention, which the United States
ratified in 1974. This treaty is unique because it outlaws a whole class of weapons by most of the
world. Its effectiveness, however, is still questionable; progress in genetic engineering has also
complicated this issue. At the Bush Gorbachev summit in June 1990, a treaty was signed providing
for both the United States and USSR to reduce stockpiles of chemical weapons. In May 1991, 19
industrial nations including the United States commited to adopt controls on the export of 50
common chemicals used to manufacture these weapons. Anthrax is a contagious disease of warm
blooded animals, including humans, caused by the bacterium Bacillus anthracis. One of the oldest
known diseases, it was once epidemic and still appears in many world areas,

Destiny Review Rebuttal Jacob Gornall GS 1001 Dr. Ferrell 01/12/2016 Destiny Review Rebuttal Destiny was one of the most anticipated games of 2014 and it was hyped up to be Bungie s next masterpiece. This was Bungie s take on borderlands, which I mean let s be real, Borderlands 2 was a knock out, especially compared to Destiny. Graphically, Destiny is truly a beautiful and diverse looking game, especially when you explore the planets opposed to the downtrodden atmosphere of Earth. Whether it s the lush forests of Venus or the red deserts of Mars (Impulse Gamer Admin, 2014). The graphics are amazing and the worlds are beautiful, but you are really given little reason to explore at all once you get the 5 chests on each planet you re done, there s really no reason ... One of the most centers of ethical debate in Information Technology is social networks. Social networking has changed from a niche phenomenon to mass adoption. Although the concept of social networking was formulated in the 1960s, the advent of fast internet has sent the concept viral. Currently, social networks have been dogged with myriad ethical issues. Privacy issues are the epicenter of these ethical issues. Some of the ethical problems that have emanated from social networks include hacking, stalking, credit card theft, and social network identity theft. Resultantly, most of social media users are haunted by the dilemmas such as how much personal information to put on social media, how they can control the audience of their profiles, and whether the information they delete from their profiles is well disposed of. This paper highlights the social network technology, and the ethical issues associated with it. Describing Social Network The concept of social networking was coined back in the 1960s when the University of Illinois launched a Plato computer based education tool (Gross Acquisti, 2005). Social network is founded on the idea that there is a predictive structure in which people know each other either directly or indirectly. Social networking technology works on notions such as six degrees of separation which states that everyone on earth is separated from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the Disco (P!ATD) is a pop punk rock band that consists of the lead singer and face of the group, Brendon Urie, and several unnamed/unpopular guitarists and drummers. The biggest competitor for P!ATD is the other main stream pop punk rock band called Fall Out Boy (FOB) which consists of Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, and Andy Hurley. Although P!ATD and FOB have similar musical styles, the different music videos each group presents, the varying tunes and lyrics, and disparate stage presence during live concerts, is why I lean toward P!ATD as my favorite overall band, with FOB falling just behind it. The themes and theatrics behind P!ATD music videos are superior to FOB music videos. • 8. Determinations Of Sucrose Concentration In Solanum... Independent variable Sucrose concentration (M) (В±0.01 g) This variable would impact the investigation as the higher the concentration of sucrose that is used in this experiment, the average percent change in mass in Solanum tuberosum core will decrease. This will occur due to the fact as the solute concentration begins to increase in the water, the solution will eventually become hypertonic, thus the percent change in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core will start to decrease as water molecules move from a region of low solute concentration inside the core to the higher solute concentration outside of the core. The amount of sucrose will be manipulated by concentrating it with water. The required amount of sucrose for this experiment would be calculated using the formula: Molarity (M) = moles of solute/ Litres of solution Mass of solute = (moles of solute) (molar mass of solute) Dependent variable Average percent change in mass (%) Since the goal of this experiment is to estimate the osmolarity of the Solanum tuberosum core, it is appropriate to measure the average percent change in mass, as when the sucrose concentration is increased, the average percent change in mass will decrease. Eventually, as the sucrose concentration increases, the Solanum tuberosum core will reach a 0% change in mass, where the osmolarities will be equal. The average percent change in mass will be determined by first finding the difference in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Capital Gains and Dividends Capital Gains and Dividends Under a source concept of capital gains, the business is the source from which gains flow; how does this differ from the trust concept of income from a business? The trust concept of income from a business indicates that the business is being managed in a particular way. When a business is in trust, there is a requirement that it be managed ethically (Unit 2, n.d.). That includes the income the business receives. This is very different from the way a standard business is run, because a trustee operates the business and is in charge of managing the income that comes from the business while it is in trust, along with other aspects of the business (Unit 2, n.d.). Overall, the income that arrives at a business while it is in trust is under much more scrutiny than income that comes into a standard business. While it is not taxed any differently than regular income, there is more scrutiny regarding it. Additionally, the capital gains concept is changed when the business is in trust, because the trustee and the business are not the same entity. Even if the business is making money, that money may not be able to be classified and taxed in the same way as it would be without being in trust (Unit 2, n.d.). One of the major effects of the Columbian exchangewas the decimation of the Native American population. • 23. What Are The Causes Of The Battle Of Isandlwana After the British arrived at the Cape, their influence and power spread to all areas of southern Africa. This colonisation was met with conflict and resistance, involving many indigenous groups, and led to tense skirmishes with the Zulu Nation. This struggle between the Zulus and the English led to the Battle of Isandlwana, one of the most famous British defeats in history. The causes involved demands for labour and land, however there was an ulterior motive as to why Zululand was invaded. Regarding Anglo Zulu relations, the British felt that the Zulu Nation posed a great military threat against the White Natal Colony and the Transvaal. The British sought to set up a Federation of White colonies and states in South Africa in 1879 , however they felt vulnerable due to the fear caused by the very near Zulu menace (Source D). This specific fear of the Zulu nation was dominant because at the time Cetshwayo had transformed the Zulus into a stronger and mightier power, and therefore was more of a threat towards the British. This fear of the Zulus potentially overthrowing the white government spread to other regions of South Africa, where the settlers hoped that the white government would stay in power. This is the future of technology, and more specifically, unmanned aerial vehicles. UAVs, more commonly referred to as drones, have been advancing for decades now. Their advancement has not come without opposition though, and while this argument is concentrated behind drones role in technologies machination over society, the true reality is a shift to mechanization, a progression the United Stateshas seen before. More acute compared to the agricultural and rural sectors, is the commercial interest of drones through manufacturers and retailers like Amazon. These have come in headlines labeled as an innovation and as an intrusion, bringing more opposition than other areas of use. In an article by Trevir Nath, it is estimated that every year integration is delayed; the US loses $10 billion in financial growth (Nath 2). This is undermined by the citizens of Syracuse who believe that as the nation becomes more accustomed to drones...fewer people will oppose their use in war and in commercial application that intrude upon American s privacy (Semuels 2). Although, there rules that apply to both forms of storytelling. The first rule is that the story incorporates paralinguistic mechanisms such as pausing, space, etc. (Bauman). The second rule is that the story flows naturally, and clearly makes sense. It is not allowed that a storyteller has a story that is choppy or jumpy to the point that the viewer does not understand. One of the most important rules is that the storyteller succeeds in continuing the story in alphabetical, or numerical, order. Similarly, if one tells the story in the reverse order, one cannot skip a letter, or number (Bauman). Lastly, for alphabetical stories there are allowable deviations and those that are not allowed. For example, many storytellers interchange 2 hand shapes such as N, H, U, and V. This deviation, along with the interchange of the 3 hand shapes M and W, are allowable deviations (Bauman). However, the usage of the time out sign as T in A Z stories is an example of a deviation that is not allowed (Bauman). Without adequate carbohydrates, a person may feel fatigued and weak, as the body looks elsewhere for sources of energy. A severe lack of carbohydrates can deprive critical bodily organs the necessary energy to properly function. Lipids are naturally occurring organic compounds that include fats and oils. An excess of some lipids can increase the chances of certain health problems, lipids are vital nutrients to a healthy body. Lipids are necessary for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins. A diet too low on lipids lowers the level of good cholesterol, decreases the body s energy level and can disturb the body s formation of cells and cell functions. During the three days of documented intake, my fiber consumption was only 24.3% of the daily recommendation. Fiber helps promote proper digestive functions, helps lower cholesterol, and helps in lowering the risk of diabetes and heart disease. My intake was too low based on the recommended consumption, and according to the data, I should eat more foods that are rich in fiber. These can be insoluble fiber sources like wheat bran and nuts or soluble fiber sources like oats, beans, and apples. The only foods that provided fiber in my meals were the bagels. ... • 45. The Disquieting Duckling Asger Jorn The Disquieting Duckling by Asger Jorn (1959) is oil on canvas painting. The style of this painting is Neo Dada, a movement with audio, visual and literary manifestations that had similarities in method or intent with earlier Dada artwork. Asger Jorn played a massive role in this movement. The title refers to a fairy tale by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersencalled The Ugly Duckling. The story is about a duckling that is born in a corral and who suffers abuse from his surroundings until, much to his delight and the surprise of others, matures into a beautiful swan, the most beautiful bird of all. In the story, there are descriptions of this idyllic scenery, where all appears to be nice and beautiful but is not. They feel disturbed by the duckling because it is different and does not fit in.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The duckling was printed on the image. Another reason why the duckling is misplaced in this painting, is that it is not formally a part of the art. It is a painting found at a flea market that Jorn has modified. He makes only the abstracted elements, but since he chose to paint on this exact surface, it holds a great significance as his adjustments. The Painting can roughly be divided into two. The left side of the natural elements and the house that is made by an unknown painter and with its naturalistic style is in high contrast to the right side with the duckling made by Asger Jorn himself. The duckling is painted with very aggressive brush strokes that creates a movement in the figure. It has an extensive range of colors uses primary and secondary pure colors to produce light. The placement of the house gives a geometric element in the composition with the straight lines. The house is an essential part of the painting because it adds the geometrical element and the element of humans in what otherwise is nature and abstracted organic shapes. The bottom base is somewhat neutral and unifies the two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. A Report On The Law Of The Saudi Arabia Saudis accord a lot of importance to their heritage and their families are usually large and extended. They take their responsibility towards their family quite seriously and hiring someone they trust for help is very common. Saudi Arabia is one of the most conservative countries in the world and follows a strict patriarchal system. Indeed, women only represent 16% of the workforce and their main duties are towards their families. It is the only country in the world where it is forbidden for a woman to drive, vote or travel anywhere without authorization from a male guardian (father or husband). All of these aspects result in a mediocre gender inequality index rating (135 over 146) and global gender gap index (131st). In addition, women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During meetings, women must cover their legs, cleavage and upper arms. Sex segregation is dominant (Purdah: separation of men and women) and public social interactions between men and women are weakly tolerated. For instance, the law forbids showing affection in public. Moreover, most public places have separate entrances for men and women and public transportation, schools, and offices are not integrated. According to Kim s Model of Intercultural conflict, there are three levels that can lead to conflicts. In this case, since the intermediary level is characterized by a high segregation of opposite sexes in public spaces, and low daily interactions, it results in a high potential of intercultural conflicts between foreign businesswomen and male Saudi citizens. Some actions have been recently taken into consideration in order to ameliorate the situation for women. The latest royal reform of King Abdullah allows women to run as political candidates and vote by 2015. This is a positive initiative that might lead to more equality between both genders in the future. Saudi Arabia is a high context culture. They rely heavily on the context of situations and thus prefer an indirect communication style. They are very concerned with saving face, and this style enables them to do so. Saudis do not like to explicitly say No to business deals but will use more ambiguous terms such as we ll think about it or Insh alla ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Geneva in 1925 a League of Nations protocol against chemical and biological war was signed; it was not, however, ratified by the United States until 1975. The treaty outlaws the first use of such weapons in warfare, but nations generally reserve the right to use them in retaliation. Agreements totally banning chemical warfare have proved difficult to achieve. A treaty totally banning biological warfare was drawn up by the Geneva Disarmament Conference in 1971 and approved by the United Nations General Assembly. Some 80 nations signed the Biological Weapons Convention, which the United States ratified in 1974. This treaty is unique because it outlaws a whole class of weapons by most of the world. Its effectiveness, however, is still questionable; progress in genetic engineering has also complicated this issue. At the Bush Gorbachev summit in June 1990, a treaty was signed providing for both the United States and USSR to reduce stockpiles of chemical weapons. In May 1991, 19 industrial nations including the United States commited to adopt controls on the export of 50 common chemicals used to manufacture these weapons.
