Personality In First They Killed My Father By Loung Ung
Keep Your Cool I wanted to die so I didn t have to face it. But I knew I had to keep going (Ty). This
is from a survivor of the tragic Cambodian genocide that is explained by Loung Ung in her novel
First They Killed My Father. The story goes in depth of her struggles during the genocide being
only the age of 5. She puts on a display of strength and perseverance during her journey as a victim
of the Khmer Rouge. In the book, First They Killed My Fatherby Loung Ung, Ung explores the idea
of composure to develop the theme that composure in tense situations will help all push through no
matter the circumstances. In tense situations things like death can make someone want to lose their

Loung and her family were starving throughout their journey through the genocide. It got to the
point when rations were not enough. They had to steal food in order to get the amount needed
to survive. They would think of how hungry they were and it almost got to them. Dreaming of
food makes my stomach growl with pain. I d give anything now for a tiny piece of moon cake or
a leg of roasted duck. My mouth waters at the thought, and a wave of sadness washes over me
(Ung 80). Loung and her entire family is starving. They need food in order to survive. Loung
almost wants to give up because of her hunger. But she knows she has to push through it while
others might give up. She pushed through, stayed cool, and even stole food in order to survive
and she did. She made it out of the genocide and is still living today because of how she kept her
cool and did not give up.
In the book, First They Killed My Father by Loung Ung, Ung explores the idea of composure to
develop the theme that composure in tense situations will help all push through no matter the
circumstances. This theme applies to anyone in any situation. When someone might have a
stressful exam coming up or in extreme situations such as being taken hostage. Keeping calm and
composed will help anyone get through any situation. If an individual does not stay calm they will
for sure crack under pressure and will not perform to a high enough level to get through the

The Similarities Between The Poetry Of Walt Whitman And...
Abstract: Walt Whitman and Puran Singh are the two great poets belonging to two different
cultures. Whitman inherited western cultural problematic and Puran Singh Eastern Indian and in
particular the Punjabi cultural problematic. These two cultures differ from each other in many
ways yet one finds a cord of identity both thematic and structural between the poetryof Whitman

Whitman and Puran Singh and brings out their unique qualities, similarities and differences.

Walt Whitman and Puran Singh are the two great poets belonging to two different cultures.
Whitman inherited western cultural problematic and Puran Singh Eastern Indian and in particular
the Punjabi cultural problematic. These two cultures differ from each other in many ways yet one
finds a cord of identity both thematic and structural between the poetry of Whitman and Puran
Singh. Therefore a comparative study between the works of the two poets is feasible. It is
desirable all the more because Puran Singh himself has boldly acknowledged the influence of
Whitman s Leaves of Grass on him: To him Walt Whitman appears as a poetic prophet whose spirit

This is because mysticism dose not have the same meaning for all readers or critics. F.C. Happold
s statement is relevant here. He says: To some it (mysticism) is simply a type of confused, irrational
thinking. In the popular mind it is associated with spiritualism ad clairvoyance, with hypnotism and
even with occultism and magic..... To some it is bound up with visions and revelations. Others use
it as a synonym for other worldliness...... Some would limit its use to that rare state of
consciousness which is found in the contemplative saints

Urinary Tract Infection ( Uti ) Essay
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a microbial infection of the kidneys, ureters, bladder or urethra.
Urinary tract is the most common form of infection. Resistance to the extended spectrum
cephalosporins can occur in Klebsiella species due to production of the extended spectrum Гџ
lactamases (ESBLs) that make hydrolysis of the oxyiminocephalosporins and monobactams. The
aim of the present work was intended to be a prospective study of the plasmid features of Klebsiella
isolates, obtained from hospitalized patient. Klebsiella isolates under test were isolated from
urine samples which were collected aseptically from the different departments in the Alexandria
Main University Hospital. ESBL producing isolates of Klebsiella spp. Causing urinary tract
infection were screened for CTX M О’ lactamases by PCR with primer specific to the conserved
region of the coding gene. The consensus primers were designed to amplify 546 bps of the CTX M
ОІ lactamase gene and used to test the collected isolates. A PCR was followed by RFLP to
differentiate of the CTX M subtypes.
INTRODUCTION Pathogenesis of urinary tract infection involves complex interactions between an
organism, the environment, and the potential host. The urinary tract is the most common site of
infection. Klebsiella accounts for 6 to 17% of all nosocomial urinary tract infections (UTI. The
mortality rate in such patients is significantly higher than those observed in patients treated with
antibiotics to which the

Aggression In Lord Of The Flies
People see young boys as an energetic ball of light, but when something drastic happens, it can
show their inner aggression, and savagery. In William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies, a group
of young boys are trapped on an island, resulting from a plane crash. They slowly start to try and
govern each other, and through that time their personalities start to change. William Golding
represents male aggression as a detrimental characteristic in Lord of the Flies by showing events,
which affects the boy s on the island. The aggression and anger that the boys uphold, sometimes
worked out for them, but untimely got outweighed by the negativity of their actions.
To start, any sign of aggression can influence the way the boy s show emotion to other people. ...

They tend lose their original personality and it can change their mental health state. An article on
aggression and violence from good therapy.org suggests that, It cannot usually be anticipated by
the people it affects, and victims of violent acts may experience serious mental health issues as a
result, such as posttraumatic stress, depression, and anxiety. It explains how the affects of
people with aggression can t be determined, and it can go anywhere. After the brutal death of
Simon, one of the boy s states, But didn t we, didn t we ? (Golding 160.) He was asking the
other boys. Golding showed the boy s reaction: he squirmed and looked down. (160) Jack s
response was filled with anger, and no regret: No! (160.) Golding wrote, In the silence that
followed, each savage flinched away from his individual memory. (160). In this, the boys, especially
Jack are dealing with the fact that they just murdered Simon. It shows that Jack has no feelings of
empathy towards them killing what they thought was the beast. This emotionless

Book Analysis Of Nomi Nickel
Style
Upon reading the first page, I knew this would be an enjoyable read. Not only is Nomi s family
entertaining because of their quirky ways but Miriam Toews sarcastic sense of humor thrown
into Nomi s everyday activities keeps the tone of the book light even when Nomi goes through
trialing times. The book is written in the first person narrative, told from the perspective of Nomi
Nickel and read similar to a memoir. The story starts off smack dab in the middle of Nomi s
present day teenage life and quickly moves into her childhood which is done to show why she is
the way she is. Ultimately, this is effective because it helps me to step inside the main characters

Reaction
I do not like The Mouth and find him creepy. The reason being is mostly because of the tight
hold he has over the town through the bizarre purge he started when he became the pastor.
Although after learning his backstory, it all made sense, and I began to feel sorry for him. The
Mouth changed from an ordinary guy finding his way in the world to an extreme religious leader.
It seems he uses his religion to protect himself because of what happened in his past when he went
out into the world to explore. Moreover, outside of the Mennonite faith, everything was too free,
and he couldn t handle the pressure of it as he s more comfortable in the boundaries of his
religion where no one can judge him. Travis does not seem to be competent boyfriend material. He
shows little respect for Nomi by leaving her out in the rain, and through his constant quest to change
her. Nomi expresses questioning thoughts when she often feels pressured to talk and carry
intelligent conversations to satisfy him. It disheartens me to think that she stays with him; I believe
boredom and low self esteem cause this. I think the type of people that follow this religion are born

Spinal Cord Injury Research
Many spinal cord injuries (SCI) patients are suffering from the impairment of impulse
conduction and they are unable to carry out their activities of daily living. Rehabilitation
becomes an important role in enhancing motor recovery and minimizing the deficits of their
movement function. The goal of this research is to deliver natural gait behavior of a rat through
active robotics and intelligent system for the SCI Sprague Dawley rat. The advance of this
research is not only the rehabilitation novel system but also the regenerative medicine novel
method from the cooperation of school of chemical and biomedical engineering (SCBE). In order
to reach this goal, the first design of robotic module which composes of a body weight support
system, treadmill for training motor functions and five bar linkage for driving rat s ankle is built
to do a preliminary test with the spinal cord injury rats which are totally transected at T9 T10 of the

Cultural Imperialism And Iranian Art
Cultural Hegemony and Iranian Art (Iranian Art as Political Discourse)
The following paper will be an evaluation of Iranian artist and the role they play as women living
in exile. The paper will discuss how art becomes a type of political discourse against patriarchal
governments. To do this I will look at the work of Parastou Forohaur an Iranian artist whose
parents were killed when she was young because they were political activist fighting to defend the
rights of all people women and men included. In the paper I will use various sources and terms
that have been discussed throughout the semester in a short literature review. Shirin Neshat will
also be discussed and the role that she plays in created fragmented narratives that help women feel
empowered in their lives in Iran.
As a member of the artistic community something that has always bothered me is the usage of
specific pronouns during artistic compliments. What do I mean by pronouns do you ask? I am
talking about gender pronouns of course, specifically girl, female, and lady. Something that often
occurs in art is statements like the following, which I addressed earlier in the proposal for this
project: she is a good girl drummer, or she is a great female guitarist. Why do these superficial
compliments exist? This paper will address that the importance of pointing out these issues to thus
be able to display these women s resilience along the way. These women have a very interesting
role in that they create a

Human Inquiry vs Everday Assumptions
Much of the publics conceived notions about the world and the reality in which we innately live,
can be explained by contrasting our assumptions against various types of inquiry and research.
The process of developing an explanation through testing, investigating, and collecting data that
either refutes or supports the original claim is known as inquiry, or the process of researching.
While that which is presupposed, or a belief that is used to interpret the world around us, is an
assumption. Naturally, we regularly formulate our beliefs based upon our assumptions and make
inferences based from these assumptions, however, today this is often done with little regard to
critical thinking or reason. Furthermore, out of naivetГ© we seek to refute conclusions to that
which we do not want to belive, pursuing a form of bias from those holding assumptions similar to
what we desire; for in such manner, we justify our rejection of the undesirable. On the contrary, we
hastily accept an assumption that supports a conclusion we perceive desirable, while giving little
mind to the validity of the assumption, or the awareness of a becomingly tolerant society toward
improper inquiry. This is human nature, it s unavoidable, but the ignorance thereof, serves as the
catalyst to our own servility by standing as the largest hinderance toward proper inquiry and
research. Humans can be placed in any situation and we will start to give it some kind of meaning
in hopes to gain a basis for

Dog Days Of Summer For Small Business Analysis
According to Sarah Whitten the writer of These Are Not the Dog Days of Summer for Small
Businesses an article from CNBC.com, Many Small businesses use the summer months not as a

from the moths that have big holidays, however these summer months are used wisely and are very
important to any business. During the summer months small business work extra hard in order to

Asymmetric Threats Essay
Currently there are several definitions of asymmetric threats listed throughout the internet as well
as other literature. The definition that best sums up the meaning in my view is leveraging
unconventional tactics against a superior opponent with the goal of disrupting the willingness to
achieve the operational objectives. The most common and current example of this would be the
insurgency tactics used in Iraq and Afghanistan. The United States must not assume those tactics
and strategies will only be used abroad. The same asymmetric threats our country s security
initiative is facing are the same challenges are seaports are facing. Some examples of the potential
asymmetric threats the United States seaport faces are nuclear weapons,... Show more content on

The impact of a chemical environment would also lessen the dominance of a United States military
operation. The United States military is commonly known to operate both deployment and re
deployment operations at specific ports of embarkation and debarkation; making targeting for a
chemical attack fairly simple.
Like chemical weapons, biological weapons are easy to obtain, but the area covered by such an
attack is fairly small and limited. The most effective area to use a chemical weapon on a seaport
would be the operation center of that port due to the limited damage it will cause to the
infrastructure. The psychological effect of VX or Sarin would devastate any port operation and to
trace the origin of the agents would prove to be very difficult.
The most common vulnerabilities to seaports exist due to the geographical location and the amount
of activity surrounding most seaports. Highways, railways, and joining waterways create many
security issues and make larger seaports terrorist strategic targets. The sheer size of the sea requires
numerous resources and assets from agencies such as the United States Coast Guard. The task of
monitoring and securing seaports is an international challenge because the United States trade
goods with various countries. Security standards vary from country to country causing any
substandard port to become an

Most times throughout the first few sections of the novel I felt bad for him, but than again he is
a liar, cheats, and steals to make it down the river. In the text it says, What did you say your
name was, honey? M Mary Williams. Honey, I thought you said it was Sarah when you first
come in? Oh, yes m, I did. Sarah Mary Williams. Sarah s my first name. Some calls me Sarah,
some calls me Mary. Here, not only once but twice does Huck lie to get out of a sticky situation.
I feel bad for Huck Finn because although he never did enjoy school, he was taken out at such a
young age so he has barely any educational background. His father is an abusive alcoholic that
has never wanted the best for him. Huck is a very practical, creative, yet logical young boy.
Although Huck is uncertain about helping a runaway slave down the river, he still proceeds to
come to his own conclusions about important decisions even if they contradict society s norms. His
personality assists him to survive the abuse from his father, the violence from the river con men,
and outsmart the town. Huck Finn is very thoughtful, intelligent, and rarely influenced by others. In
conclusion, during the first few chapters of TAHF I feel as though Huck Finn is a very smart boy
who evaluates any decisions before handling them and will go to any matter in order to survive

The United States Involvement Of World War II
They came, unwarned. On the 7th of December 1941, the Japanese executed a full fledged attack
on Pearl Harbor. They mercilessly created havoc, with attacks that caused the sinking of eighteen
American ships, as well as 170 aircrafts. The casualties were dreadful, with 1,177 of those lost
lives had been of the crewmen. The very next day, President Roosevelt declared war on Japan, and
thus the United Statesinvolvement of World War II. Americans of every state were absolutely
enraged and bent on their will for vengeance against the Asian country. Within the shadows of
galvanized America, Robert Oppenheimer had set his infamous Manhattan Projectinto action. This
project was so disclosed that only a limited number of men truly knew of its purpose. The
clandestine project held prior securities to the point in which famous scientists had to use
codenames in order to visit Los Alamos, even wives were kept in the dark, and only key
scientists could bring their wives along with them. (Source D) This project had been the discreet
creation of the Atomic Bombs. Time and time again, this topic had never really dissipated, its
controversial who, what and whys prompting generations to debate its palpable purpose. Was the
aim really focused for the good of all? Was it for America s self preservation and wish to promptly
put an end to all of the suffering? Many Americans to this day still believe and argue for the
usefulness of the atomic bombings, that the droppings were justified.

US National Public Debt Essay
The national debt is the result of a state s borrowing from its population, from foreign governments,
or from international institutions such as the International Bank for Reconstruction and

national scale by central governments and on a lesser scale by provincial, regional, district, and
municipal administrative bodies. In the U.S., public debts are also contracted by the states and by
local governments, primarily for public works.
Kinds of Debt

Although government loans are for the most part not secured by physical assets, they are
regarded in law as contracts carrying an obligation on the part of the debtor to repay.
Nevertheless, governments, when hard pressed during economic crises or as a result of political
upheavals, have sometimes repudiated their public debts in whole or in part. In many cases, also, a
government to whom another is in debt may agree to forgive the debt or reschedule its payment
over a longer period.
History
In earlier times debts contracted by heads of state had the legal status of personal debt; public
debt emerged as a systematic element in a country s economy when regular sources of income
became available to provide funds to repay loans, a monetary system became fully formed, and an
organized money market came into operation. The first examples of public debt surfaced in the late
17th century in Europe and became more prevalent with the rise of the modern state and the
banking and credit system that grew out of the Industrial Revolution.
Today, the finances involved in contracting and redeeming the public debt of a country are a sizable
proportion of its government budget. As the money for redemption of the public debt is raised
principally through taxation, the size of the national debt is a factor in determining taxation rates.

Laws And Rules In Ayn Rand s Anthem
Imagine living in a society where you have no control over your own life. In the book Anthem
written by Ayn Rand, the characters are told how to live by the government. They have no
control over their life, and they must follow the laws and rules. If any person breaks these laws
and rules, they will be punished severely. There are no exceptions, no warnings, one strike and
they re done. In Anthem the government has enforced many rules. A few of the rules may
include the we law, the no affection law and another law is how one must never write or talk
about the Unmentionable Times. The government allows no human to live an uncontrolled life
and they deserve to live their own lives. In this book the council, which is another way of saying
the government, has a law known as the we law. This law states that no human can refer to
themselves as one person. Each and every person must call themselfs we and considering the
circumstances, our as if they are multiple people. The council feels as if they must have this rule
because if these humans were to go around talking as if they are one person, it would be unequal.
Which is a huge law, they must all be equal, no exceptions. One character acknowledges, We are
one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and forever.
(Rand 19). This quote is a strong quote... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The characters have no right to think about woman and/or the other way around. Once again, if
they disobey this law they will have very serious consequences. One character implies, For men are
forbidden to take notice of woman, and woman are forbidden to take notice of men. (Rand 38). This
quote explains how woman cannot think of men and men cannot think of woman. Which all comes
back to the issue in which, the government allows no human to control themselves. So this is
another example of how the government controls many lives that are not their

Portrayal Of Gender In Media
Media today portrays gender in many different ways. Whether it s a women doing a man s job or
vice versa. Overall magazines, tv commercials or any type of advertisement for the most part
women are seen as a sex symbol while guys are the hard workers. I did a random you tube search
for Tv commercials. Many commercials I found were banned from tv for being too sexy for Tv .
A Carl s Jr. commercial shows a women walking through an outdoor garden shop and all the men
are staring at her. She is walking around nude but in the commercial you are not able to see
anything because there are objects that are cover her. She says that she likes all natural juicy

The commercial is between a couple. The husband is sleeping and she getting ready to go for a
run. She walks over to the laptop and sees that men have ran 3106 km and women have ran

between two other men that are running and ends up catching up to a few other women who are
also part of the challenge. Everything is becoming a race between the women and men even
though the men are outnumbered. Two women run pass a guy and pull out his headphones to
slow down his pace. Now the men are all checking online and see that the women are catching up
with their distant ran, so they all start to run including her husband that was sleeping. This
proves that women can do the same as men or even more. On Dorito commercial called If
Women s Roles In Ads Were Played By Men shows the roles reversed. Honestly to me it seems
kind of strange seeing men playing the sexy hot role, definably did not catch my attention.
Overall any time of advertisement will always have women as a sex symbol and men being
superb to women similar to the Nike commercial. I believe this is not an accurate portrayal
because women can do everything men do and vice versa. It is very uncommon to see men and
women switch roles in any type of

The First Camera On The World Was Invented By Alexander...
On May 8th 1840, the first camera on the world was invented by Alexander Wolcott. Since then,
people considered photography as an objective medium, which is always used to describe and
explain the reality and even considered for law enforcement. For example, pictures chalked on the
gate of suspect s house may serve as alibi. However, with current technology, people can easily
manipulate ( manipulate is underlined twice as topic specific vocabulary) pictures. (In class
writing, Oct.18.2016) People start to learn that a photograph can be carefully staged to express
certain opinions, thus we lost trust on photographyand instead begin to evaluate pictures. Court
also create different laws to check the admissibility of digital evidences. However, techniques and
strategies of editing images has gone either unexplained or mis explained because people are lack
of professional knowledge about photoshopping so that images are blindly doubted. In the rest of
this paper, I give three different examples and explanation to analyze how and why visuals were
edited.
Admit or not, photoshop is now closely connected to our daily life. Nowadays, teenagers have
become the most electronically connected generation of all time. As many Chinese may know,
social apps such as WeChat, Weibo and QQ have become the main means of communication for
teenagers. In 2015, 549 million active users are using WeChat, where images are posted and shared

Future Visions of America in Looking Backward by Edward...
Published in 1888 Looking Backward depicts a future vision of America. Utopian Boston of the
year 2000 is designed in a constructive method that excludes capitalism. Through the medium of
romantic novel, Bellamy seeks to impose the idea of socialism into the nineteenth century American
society. Written at a period when economic growth went off the rails triggering the rise in unequal
distribution of wealth, Looking Backward attempts to propose a reform in social and economic
systems.
From the eyes of the narrator, the novel presents a spectrum of changes and possibilities for the 19th
century audience. Plagued by the social chaos of the Gilded Age, Julian West falls asleep with
difficulty in 1887 to wake up to the Boston of year 2000, and finds out that all the evils bothering
him in the 19th century have been cast aside.
As the last sparkles of the Civil War cooled down, a period of transformation took over U.S. and
the endeavour to restore post Civil War economy initiated. The Gilded Age, as Mark Twain referred,
was a time identified with economic boom and social change. During those years, U.S. experienced
the transition from agricultural to urban together with industrialisation, scientific innovations and
an economic boom. This modernisation evolvement however, was followed by negative outcomes:
as labour demand amplified the need for immigration broke out and poverty became a remarkable
issue. What is more, the growth of middle class and its insatiable appetite

When Salinger attended McBurney School, he tried to conform so he can fit (one way was
calling himself Jerry). While at this school, he also acted in plays and wrote the school s
newspaper. This is shown through Holden as he doesn t try to conform (which could be
representing Salinger s regret to try and conform), hates phoniness (as acting as a character [for
example: in a play] is considered being phony), and likes writing (as shown in the beginning of
chapter one as he tells the audience his story and how he admires his writer brother, D.B.).
Salinger himself stated, My boyhood was very much the same as that of the boy in the book,
and it was a great relief telling people about it (interview by Shirlie Blaney). Salinger s many
failed relationships in his lives, from his parents to love interests, are hinted throughout Holden s
life and his character. Salinger s father was from a Jewish descent while his mother was from a
Catholic descent; however Salinger didn t know about this until his bar mitzvah. Salinger had
problematic issues with his father like how his father basically disapproved of his son in general

and later stopped eating meat (stated by www.nndb.com). Salinger s relationship with his parents

CHAPTER1
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The aim of the dissertation is to research the diplomatic negotiating style of the Filipino law
enforcement by analyzing the events in its diplomatic history, namely the bilateral negotiations
with the Philippines during august 23, 2010.
For the past few days since the embarrassing hostage crisis that has brought international shame
again to our country, it has been reflecting on how we as a Filipino people can collectively move
forward from this incident. In cyberspace, many people continue to express anger, rage,
disappointment, frustration and sadness about how our government particularly the Philippine

Believe that majority of our police force are good and well meaning Filipino public servants who
went into the service to help our country. If the political leaders for the past 5 years only used our
funds properly instead of putting it in their own pockets then that would have been able to develop
an elite police force that would be able to handle any type of crisis situation in a very effective
manner. Making no excuses for the Aquino administration because like said, they should ve been in
full control the moment the hostage crisis started but in reality they are also inheriting a poorly
trained and equipped PNP from the previous administration. Don t forget that Aquino has been in
power for barely two months while Robredo was just appointed as DILG chief in the middle of
July. It is with this reason that really appalled by the way two very staunch supporters of former
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Senator Miguel Zubiri and Albay s Rep. Edcel Lagman, are
now trying their darndest best to play hero and pin all the blame on Aquino and Robredo. If they are
really serious that they want to help our country and improve our image in the international
community, then perhaps they can begin by probing and supporting an investigation on all the
anomalies and corruption that happened during their boss term.
Now, what can do to finally move forward? The greater challenge for us Filipinos is to understand

Philosophy of Religion
The Cosmological argument argues for the existence of God a posteriori based on the apparent
order in the universe. For Aristotle, the existence of the universe needs an explanation, a cause, as it
could not have come from nothing. Nothing comes from nothing so since there is something, there
must have been some other thing that is its cause. Aristotle rules out an infinite progression of
causes, so, that led to the conclusion that there must be a First Cause. Likewise with motion, there
must have been a first cause; Aristotle calls this the Prime Mover . There is a God, says Aristotle
for how else does motion begin? Whilst this argument does generally offer some support for the
existenceof God, it does not prove his existence.
Aquinas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, Hume claimed that it is not possible to prove the existence of a being who is unknowable
and existentially different from all other beings.
A further argument against the cosmological argumentis presented by Anthony Kenny. According to
his analysis, the cause of change must possess a property which will initiate the change. For
example, for something to become hot, the thing that causes the change must itself possess the
property of heat. But modern science rejects this argument, for instance, microwaves can generate
heat without themselves being hot. Therefore, it is not foolhardy to argue that the universe exists
and as a result of highly finely tuned probabilities, from simple compounds to what we see today.
But still, Descartes reconstruction of the argument seems to postulate that, the cause of change
must possess a property which will initiate the change, which is in direct conflict with Kenny s
point. Yet, Aquinas says Kenny is not giving a straightforward metaphysical analysis, but an
analysis which presumes a standard, and also doubtful physics.
Overall, the cosmological argument, while making a good attempt to prove the existence of God
is largely unsuccessful chiefly because it makes huge empirical assumptions. Firstly, it assumes
that the world does, in fact, exist. And secondly, we cannot prove that a world exists on the basis
of a posteriori premises, therefore cannot infer from it that it has a cause, and

Doctors believe however, that there is little proof that Crohn s disease is caused by emotional
distress or by unhappy childhood (Crohn s disease website). Crohn s disease may occur at any
age but occurs most often between the ages of 15 and 40 years. Crohn s disease tends to run in
some families. About 20 percent of people with Crohn s disease have a blood relative with an
inflammatory bowel disease. Crohn s disease rates appear to run higher in those that smoke. This
means an individual who may inherit an inflammatory bowel disease, is more likely to develop
Crohn s disease if they smoke (Satsangi, 1996, p.40). Both sexes are affected with the women as a
slightly higher chance. Crohn s disease occurs more often in Jewish and upper middle class urban
populations (Lewis et al, 1996, p.1231).
Symptoms / Complications
The principal symptoms of Crohn s disease are diarrhea and abdominal pain. Other symptoms
include abdominal cramping and tenderness (often in lower right area), abdominal distention, fever,
fatigue, and rectal bleeding. Bleeding may be serious and persistent, leading to a low red blood cell
count or anemia. As the disease progresses, malnutrition, dehydration, electrolyte, imbalances,
increased peristalsis, and pain around umbilicus may occur. Another symptom to be

Black Walnut Tree By Mary Oliver Essay
Nature is a part of everyone, it is something that each person grows up learning to appreciate and
treat with respect. Mary Oliver shows this innate love for the natural world around her through
her poetry and this is evident in her poem Black Walnut Tree . Not only does Oliver demonstrate
and understanding of the family s admirable relationship for the tree, she manages to express their
conflicted emotions with various poetic techniques. Poets will often use full stops in the middle of
a line to place more emphasis on the images they are creating. In Black Walnut Tree , Oliver uses a
caesura twice to put more meaning into her lines. Likely some storm anyway/will churn its dark

create an image of a old, unstable, walnut tree to try and justify the thoughts of removing something
so important to the family. She contrasts this later by saying So we... Show more content on

In this poem by Mary Oliver, she uses the tree as a symbol for the strength of the past and she
allows the family to appreciate the heritage it stands for. But something brighter than money
/moves in our blood an edge/sharp and quick as a trowel/that wants us to dig and sow. [...] That
night I dream/of my fathers out of Bohemia/filling the blue fields/of fresh and generous Ohio

tree is. It symbolizes how hard their ancestors worked to get the family to where they are now.
The walnut tree inspires them to work harder and do more, an attempt to live up to their name.
Selling the tree has an edge of finality about it, the family fears of forgetting where they came from
if they don t have a symbol to rely on. Oliver demonstrates all this symbolism a to strengthen the

Outliers Malcolm Gladwell Essay
I place my beautiful Howarth XL gently back in its case. In the lights it shines brightly, and if
the lights hit it just right, it sparkles and blinds. The Grenadilla wood at first looks flawless and
black in color, yet as one peers closer a rich brown color becomes visible and the wood grains show
it is real. I close the case, and as I walk from the room I turn off the lights. One hour of practice
down, thousands more to go.
Or so I am told. I recently read a book called Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell.
In it Gladwell tells the stories of successful people and explains how they became successful based
on their circumstances, situations, and cultural legacies. In particular, Gladwell wrote a chapter
about what has become to be known as The 10,000 Hour Rule. This rule states that after 10,000
hours of practice a person, no matter who they are, will be an expert at that skill. Although I agree

Once Romeo learns that the Capulet s are holding a party at which Rosaline is attending he risks

There is also a parental love for Juliet when lord Capulet is talking to Paris as he is very

She is the hopeful lady of my earth.

In the second place, however: quite apart from the historical untenability of this hypothesis
regarding the origin of the value judgement good it suffers from an inherent psychological
absurdity. The utility of the unegotistic action is supposed to be the source of the approval
accorded it, and this source is supposed to have been forgotten. The quote comes to show that
the word good itself has different meanings according to one s psychological judgement as it is
defined by the persons ego. The rich have decided what is determined good and bad, therefore
their opinion is contradictory as they will present the poor people as being liars and bad in
comparison to themselves as good and pure. In the other hand the Jewish culture s formula of
who was perceived good and bad was also changed as opposed to the rich being the good, the
poor who are alone were the good and the ones with god. This shows that ideology of what is
perceived to be good and band changes as those in power have a difference of opinion on these
moralities. Therefore, both these moralities are not contrasting but rather the one and the same.

The Negative Effects Of Music In Education
Each year there is that one student ; the kid with the headphones, the kid who never appears to be

music helps them. This is the student who panics at the word test, and struggles to pay attention
when they do not have their headphones in, they have a hard time with other kids. As a teacher it s
your job to make sure all students follow the rules, and focus in the classroom. You may not be
trying to make it hard for them, you are just trying to make sure they learn. Many may feel that
students can not learn or comprehend when they have a headphone on, however research shows
that students who listen to musichave betterbehaviour, less stress, and higher grade scores. For
some people music is a distraction, it is more like an added stress, and it doesn t help. Many
teachers included have the mindset that music does not help, and when there is little information
supporting music in classrooms, their point is understandable. For instance, according to Susan

Persuasive Freedom Of Speech
Content generated by the media is vastly changing with time. Alongside, how the audience wishes
to view content is changing as well. In the earlier times, only televisions and radios were used to
transfer information. Nowadays, new platforms and websites are using different techniques to
deliver content to their respective audience. On Netflix Nobody Speak, by Brian Knappenberger is
one of the many information and knowledge packed documentary, that redefines the way viewers
learn about the different meanings of certain phrases. One of the ways is freedom of speech, which
enables individuals to express ideas and thoughts candidly. Different audience group will
acknowledge different purposes to freedom of speech. Even though civilians hold the right to
freedom of speech, it can also come with deadly consequences. The expression in the documentary
holds a cruel and degrading meaning, even so, other reasons such as the rights of privacymight
outweigh the separate statement. The case between Terry Bolea and Gawker refines how different
audience ponders about the meaning freedom of speech. Expressing how freedom of speech and
technology was misused to degrade one of the most renowned celebrities named Hulk Hogan,
known initially as Terry Bolea.
Firstly, no kind of authority should obtain the power to interrogate or expose another person s
private life to the media. The quote, Freedom of information clashes with people s right to
privacy on a political government level, which is usually constrained, (Mass Communication in
Canada, p.38), states that freedom of speech is limited and should not break certain rules.
Considering celebrities are role models, that does not make them perfect human beings.
Gawker.com a self opinionated website, developed to publicize atrocious or embarrassing
footage about contrastive celebrities; uses freedom of speech as ammo to release footage that
could potentially ruin a person s standard and career. From the film, witnessing that Hulk Hogan s
private life was in jeopardy by the power of freedom of speech that Gawker.com perceives to hold.
Fundamentally, freedom of speech considering a characteristic of the public sphere, but it is limited
to certain morals and guideline.

Dr Spock And The Disagreement Of Women During The 1950 s
Dr. Spock s philosophy triggered disagreements principally in women. During the 1950s, parents
were supposed to adhere to rigid gender roles meant to maintain familiar stability and social
order. Men were expected to work outside and provide subsistence for their family, on the other
hand, women s place was at home taking care of children. Moreover, women had been excluded
from factories at the end of World War II to make room for the returning veterans, which caused
irritation against the social expectations of being a wifealways present in the home and work,
dedicated only to cooking, cleaning, shopping and caring for children. Women also continued to

Beginning in 1943, the hilltop mesa of Los Alamos began its transformation from a quiet landscape

1.8 Supply Chain Drivers In Agribusiness. In This Chapter,
1.8 Supply Chain Drivers in Agribusiness
In this chapter, we have so far discussed the role of supply chain drivers namely facilities, inventory,
and transportation, sourcing and information technology impacting the performance of inputs
industry.
1 Facility
Facility management for the agricultural inputs sector is an important aspect of supply chain
drivers. When one looks at any facility, its various forms need to be analyzed. One aspect is with
respect to manufacturing, process, and resource endowment, and the other is about creating storage
spaces such as warehouses and regional distribution centers, especially with respect to input
management.

Kharif season is after first rains of south west monsoon in India, which is in June July and harvest
happens in September and October. Rabi season starts after the kharif season and more popularly
termed winter crop with plantation in November and harvest in February/March. Cultivation is
triggered by the onset of the monsoon. Inputs such as seeds and capital equipment and preparatory
farm equipment would be required at the initiation of crop farming. As the crop firms up, farmers
would need fertilizers, crop nutrients, and pesticides. Later, farmers would need farmer extension
support services, harvesting support, and support in reaching the markets. All these activities
require an effective inventory management policy across the supply chain.
The players deploy inventory concepts such as cycle inventory, safety inventory, seasonal inventory,
and pipeline inventory. Inventory could be in the form of raw material, work in progress, or
finished goods.
Cycle inventory is the average inventory that builds up within the supply chain, because a supply
chain stage either produces or purchases in lots that are larger in volume than the demands of
customers. Raw materials, components, and parts are required for production. The cycle plays a
crucial role in keeping the production process continuous. Raw materials and work in progress
inventories are a major part of the production related inventory. This works even in the agribusiness
input sector. Fertilizers typically work

Buddhism And The Noble Eightfold Path
Siddhartha Gautama was the founder of Buddhism (Van Voorst, R, 2013). Gautama lived a life of
a prince until he witnessed physical suffering in the world. Upon observing the suffering, Gautama
decided to give up everything to become a holy man. He created the Middle Path meaning the
moment between self denial and regular life. He discovered the Four Noble Truths and the Noble
Eightfold Path, (Van Voorst, R, 2013).
The basic characteristics of Buddhism are meditating, prayer, rest, exercise, lecture and small group
discussion with other Buddhists in Zen centers and temples around the world. Buddhists believe
that Siddhartha Gautama discovered the Middle Path out of suffering, reaching the full
enlightenment that rescued him from constant reincarnation into this world (Voorst, R., 2013) .
They also believe in karma and rebirth until they reach the point of enlightenment. Enlightenment is
reached once they have strived and reached for nirvana. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

relationships, some even included President Abraham Lincoln. According to the Stanford
Encyclopedia, Addams was in the minority among her peers in philosophy or feminism to believe
that working class immigrant women not only should be given a voice but also had something
important to contribute to the community of ideas (Hamington, 828). Moreover, Jane Addamswas
undecided on what life path she will choose. Consequently, Addams attended and graduated from

The Nonexistent Knight Literary Analysis
The truth can be stated in many different ways, yet each one can be true or false, it s just based on
perspective. Just as artist view art with different perspectives, its reasonable to view the truth in the
same way, therefore everything we see is a perspective not the truth. Italo Calvino uses the art of
writing and fictionto enlighten us with the truth, that is not really a truth but rather what you
interpret from your perspective, and suggests that things are not always what they appear to be in
The Nonexistent Knight.
The tension created by the irony in this tale is the result of the intimate relationship between the
annoying Sister Theodora and the reader, along with her closing confession that she and
Bradamente are one and the same. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The paladins often ridicule Agilulf for being the nonexistent knight and Calvino demonstrates
that with verbal irony, Oh, not him again! If he doesn t stick his nose everywhere that nose he
hasn t got! Where d you think he could get the itch if he hasn t got a place to itch? That s a
nonexistent knight, that is... (17). Calvino goes on with more situational irony, The armor was
empty, not empty like before, but empty of that of something going by the name of Sir Agilulf
which was now dissolved like a drop in the sea. (132) Agilulf was nonexistent before, but now he
is completely gone and does not exist at all; he has just disappeared. The armor was always
empty but now it is missing the presence of Agilulf, as he didn t even have a body due to not
existing. Calvino continues this situational irony, When I came to shut myself in here I was
desperate with love for Agilulf, now I burn for the young and passionate Raimbaut. (140)
Bradamente became a nun to get over Agilulf but since she can t be with him she is going to be
with Raimbaut. This depicts to be a slightly varied happily ever after than usual, as Raimbaut has
loved her from the beginning but only now is Bradamente interested but they do end up together.
Calvino creates more situational and dramatic irony by revealing, Sister Theodora who tells this
tale and the amazon are one and the same. (140) She s been lying from the start

Reflection Paper On My Life
Reflections on My Life
When I examine my life, I like to reflect on two facets of religion and mathematics. In the book
Hugs for Grads , Jeff Walling advised the graduates, The simple basics of life love, faith, and
hope are all we really need. We can t undo all the world s wrongs, but we can affect the corner of
the world we live in if we ll just stick to the basics the basics of life. This means that religion is
one of the basics of life. In addition, math is essential in everything. Mathematical applications in
the study of science are essential. If I want to invest in a business, I must know how to deal with the
numbers. In addition, tracking the orbits of planets in the galaxy cannot be done without numerical
comparisons. When I examine my life, I discover that the Catholic school and mathematics helped
me to support myself and live peacefully in three chapters of my life: my childhood, my
adolescence and my maturity.
First chapter, I grew up in Virtue Hill, which means God s Place , in the decade 1960 1970. My
parents found a Catholic school in this place to raise me and educate me. Throughout my
childhood, my father s military career kept our family traveling. When I was a fourth grader, my
father who was a soldier often deployed constantly. My mother sent me to an elementary Catholic
boarding school for my education. This upbringing taught me that whatever else might change in
my life, fidelity to my education was very important.

The Uprising Of A Terrorist Group

Abstract
This is a research paper on the uprising of a terrorist group in the Caucasus Mountain ranges. To
begin to understand what has made this group escalate their acts of terrorism we must identify the
past historical events leading up to their creation. All the efforts put in by the CRI (Chechen
Republic of Ichkeria) were to create a land that was for the Muslim people. Then without any
success it was later transformed in a small terrorist cells known as the group Caucasus Emirate.

The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (CRI) wanted independence from Russia. They had been given

Analysis Of The Book Between The World And Me Essay
Monica Quilatan Professor Writing 37 ICS 249 9:00 to 10:50 26 October 2015 The US is
appealing in the eyes of other countries, and even ourselves, because of the free and equal
characteristics we claim ourselves to have, such as: freedom of religion, freedom to own private
property, and freedom of equal justice. However, in the eyes of an African America, Atlantic
Monthly Journalist, we see that all of these freedoms find a loophole when it comes to the black
community. In Ta Nehisi Coates book Between the World and Me, he writes from a political, yet
deeply personal standpoint to analyze today s version of racism. Coates strays away from his
usual journalist works to a more deeper and personal view. His book is devoted to his fifteen
year old son, Samori, and provides him with guidance through the struggle of racism; all while
letting Samori fend for himself. Coates lets his son know all this through history, and heritage; of
his own and of America s. Ta Nehisi Coates is a journalist, blogger, and memoirist incorporates

Amazon Rainforest And Its Impact On The Biome

Climate Condition:
Amazon rainforest has a tropical climate or also know as the equatorial climate. It is humid
throughout the year and has an average temperature of 28 degree celsius. We can not really
divide the climate between summer and winter as it has a annual temperature range of 2 degree
celsius. The temperature difference between day and night is about 2 to 5 degree celsius. The
climate is not as hot as we may except it rarely goes above 30 degree celsius. but the only trouble
in the rainforest is the humidity which causes a feeling of lack of air. Due to the humidity we can
not really see a dry season in the amazon as it rains thought out the year. We can divide rainfall in
Amazon into into two parts rainy and not so rainy.
If we look at the above climate table of the amazon basin we can find that the temperature is
almost constant throughout the year. But we can kind of divide rainfall in Amazon into rainy and
not so rainy . If we have a look at the above table between the months June to September we can
call it not so rainy and the rest of the months we can call it rainy. This is between October to May.
Flora and Fauna:
There are around 40,000 plants species, 427 mammals, 1,300 birds , 378 reptiles and 400
amphibians and 3000 freshwater fishes. These are just the number of some big animals. But in fact
if we count the number of smaller life forms it will be way more the above number. There are more

John Stuart Mill s Final Chapter Summary
Mill begins his final chapter by trying to cover the meaning of justice, by coming up with a list
of things that are frequently classified as just or unjust. He examined what justice is and says that
it is the concept of the moral rights of an individual. He talks about so many solid examples of
injustice. Firstly, it is unjust to deprive one of his legal rights, violating one s moral rights,
everyone should receive what the deserve whether good or bad, break contracts and be partial. Mill
differentiated other outlines of moralityfrom justice through the idea of a perfect duty. Perfect
duties, are what one must always fulfil and have not choice over it, and imperfect duty is we have
a choice and just decide to help someone on our own, e.g

Minorities In Qualitative Research
The process in finding one s identity can be difficult, especially as there are many factors that may
alter an individual s actions or thoughts about themselves. After deconstructing several articles by
academic researchers it was evident that the process of one s self identification stems mostly from
the way in which we communicate and interact with other cultures (also known as
interculturalities). Each journal article posed a different aspect to the research, while still showing
patterns and overlap that correlated with the results found in the other articles. The researched used
different methodologies in order to conclude with credible findings. The methodologies included,

The most common debate between a minority group and a majority group are the ideas around
religion and it is Elyakim Kislev (2012) who argued that, [there are] challenges faced by religious
groups in a society with a non religious majority. Throughout both McGraw Hill Higher Education
s work (2004) and Elyakim Kislev s (2012) research, the idea of a four step model was introduced.
However, majorities and minorities do not share the exact same steps, which can cause different
outlooks to arise. Minorities emerge with the four strategies/methods which include; integration,
also known as participation in the majority culture while still holding on to their own, separation or
rejection of the majority culture and only accepting their own, assimilation or the rejection of their
own culture and acceptance of the majority culture and finally marginalization, which focuses on
the rejection of both the majority culture and their own. The majority on the other hand show the
same integration step (but participating or interacting with the minority group) and then are
followed by acceptance, resistance and then redefinition and reintegration (McGraw Hill, 2004).
Kislev (2012) argues that the most ideal model or step would be, solely based on the acceptance of
both cultures. Kislev s (2012) study also examined that the ability to, [take] from both cultures
[would] be enough to increase the emotional well being and educational achievements of minorities.
By acknowledging how different people between the two classes (minority and majority) accept
both their culture and other cultures, it gives insight into how they may shape their identities and
ultimately, how they may treat

The story goes in depth of her struggles during the genocide being only the age of 5. She puts on a display of strength and perseverance during her journey as a victim of the Khmer Rouge. In the book, First They Killed My Fatherby Loung Ung, Ung explores the idea of composure to develop the theme that composure in tense situations will help all push through no matter the circumstances. Loung and her family were starving throughout their journey through the genocide. It got to the point when rations were not enough. They had to steal food in order to get the amount needed to survive. They would think of how hungry they were and it almost got to them. Dreaming of food makes my stomach growl with pain. I d give anything now for a tiny piece of moon cake or a leg of roasted duck. My mouth waters at the thought, and a wave of sadness washes over me (Ung 80). Loung and her entire family is starving. They need food in order to survive. Loung almost wants to give up because of her hunger. But she knows she has to push through it while others might give up. She pushed through, stayed cool, and even stole food in order to survive and she did. She made it out of the genocide and is still living today because of how she kept her cool and did not give up. In the book, First They Killed My Father by Loung Ung, Ung explores the idea of composure to develop the theme that composure in tense situations will help all push through no matter the circumstances. This theme applies to anyone in any situation. When someone might have a stressful exam coming up or in extreme situations such as being taken hostage. Whitman inherited western cultural problematic and Puran Singh Eastern Indian and in particular the Punjabi cultural problematic. These two cultures differ from each other in many ways yet one finds a cord of identity both thematic and structural between the poetryof Whitman and Puran Singh. The present study analyzes the nature of mysticism in the poetry of Walt Whitman and Puran Singh and brings out their unique qualities, similarities and differences. Keywords: mysticism, noetic, consciousness, Cartesian, antinomian Walt Whitman and Puran Singh are the two great poets belonging to two different cultures. Whitman inherited western cultural problematic and Puran Singh Eastern Indian and in particular the Punjabi cultural problematic. These two cultures differ from each other in many ways yet one finds a cord of identity both thematic and structural between the poetry of Whitman and Puran Singh. Therefore a comparative study between the works of the two poets is feasible. It is desirable all the more because Puran Singh himself has boldly acknowledged the influence of Whitman s Leaves of Grass on him: To him Walt Whitman appears as a poetic prophet whose spirit has passed on into his own and who leads ... • 4. Urinary Tract Infection ( Uti ) Essay Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a microbial infection of the kidneys, ureters, bladder or urethra. Urinary tract is the most common form of infection. Resistance to the extended spectrum cephalosporins can occur in Klebsiella species due to production of the extended spectrum Гџ lactamases (ESBLs) that make hydrolysis of the oxyiminocephalosporins and monobactams. The aim of the present work was intended to be a prospective study of the plasmid features of Klebsiella isolates, obtained from hospitalized patient. Klebsiella isolates under test were isolated from urine samples which were collected aseptically from the different departments in the Alexandria Main University Hospital. ESBL producing isolates of Klebsiella spp. Causing urinary tract infection were screened for CTX M О’ lactamases by PCR with primer specific to the conserved region of the coding gene. The consensus primers were designed to amplify 546 bps of the CTX M ОІ lactamase gene and used to test the collected isolates. A PCR was followed by RFLP to differentiate of the CTX M subtypes. INTRODUCTION Pathogenesis of urinary tract infection involves complex interactions between an organism, the environment, and the potential host. The urinary tract is the most common site of infection. Klebsiella accounts for 6 to 17% of all nosocomial urinary tract infections (UTI. • 5. Aggression In Lord Of The Flies People see young boys as an energetic ball of light, but when something drastic happens, it can show their inner aggression, and savagery. In William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies, a group of young boys are trapped on an island, resulting from a plane crash. They slowly start to try and govern each other, and through that time their personalities start to change. William Golding represents male aggression as a detrimental characteristic in Lord of the Flies by showing events, which affects the boy s on the island. The aggression and anger that the boys uphold, sometimes worked out for them, but untimely got outweighed by the negativity of their actions. Not only is Nomi s family entertaining because of their quirky ways but Miriam Toews sarcastic sense of humor thrown into Nomi s everyday activities keeps the tone of the book light even when Nomi goes through trialing times. The book is written in the first person narrative, told from the perspective of Nomi Nickel and read similar to a memoir. The story starts off smack dab in the middle of Nomi s present day teenage life and quickly moves into her childhood which is done to show why she is the way she is. A clear juxtaposition observed would be between the old town and the new. Even tourists see this connection as one commented: now there s a priceless juxtaposition of old and new. Reaction I do not like The Mouth and find him creepy. The reason being is mostly because of the tight hold he has over the town through the bizarre purge he started when he became the pastor. Although after learning his backstory, it all made sense, and I began to feel sorry for him. The Mouth changed from an ordinary guy finding his way in the world to an extreme religious leader. It seems he uses his religion to protect himself because of what happened in his past when he went out into the world to explore. Moreover, outside of the Mennonite faith, everything was too free, and he couldn t handle the pressure of it as he s more comfortable in the boundaries of his religion where no one can judge him. Travis does not seem to be competent boyfriend material. He shows little respect for Nomi by leaving her out in the rain, and through his constant quest to change her. Nomi expresses questioning thoughts when she often feels pressured to talk and carry intelligent conversations to satisfy him. It disheartens me to think that she stays with him; I believe boredom and low self esteem cause this. I think the type of people that follow this religion are born ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cultural Imperialism And Iranian Art Cultural Hegemony and Iranian Art (Iranian Art as Political Discourse) The following paper will be an evaluation of Iranian artist and the role they play as women living in exile. The paper will discuss how art becomes a type of political discourse against patriarchal governments. To do this I will look at the work of Parastou Forohaur an Iranian artist whose parents were killed when she was young because they were political activist fighting to defend the rights of all people women and men included. In the paper I will use various sources and terms that have been discussed throughout the semester in a short literature review. Shirin Neshat will also be discussed and the role that she plays in created fragmented narratives that help women feel empowered in their lives in Iran. As a member of the artistic community something that has always bothered me is the usage of specific pronouns during artistic compliments. What do I mean by pronouns do you ask? I am talking about gender pronouns of course, specifically girl, female, and lady. Something that often occurs in art is statements like the following, which I addressed earlier in the proposal for this project: she is a good girl drummer, or she is a great female guitarist. Why do these superficial compliments exist? This paper will address that the importance of pointing out these issues to thus be able to display these women s resilience along the way. • 9. Human Inquiry vs Everday Assumptions Much of the publics conceived notions about the world and the reality in which we innately live, can be explained by contrasting our assumptions against various types of inquiry and research. The process of developing an explanation through testing, investigating, and collecting data that either refutes or supports the original claim is known as inquiry, or the process of researching. While that which is presupposed, or a belief that is used to interpret the world around us, is an assumption. Naturally, we regularly formulate our beliefs based upon our assumptions and make inferences based from these assumptions, however, today this is often done with little regard to critical thinking or reason. Furthermore, out of naivetГ© we seek to refute conclusions to that which we do not want to belive, pursuing a form of bias from those holding assumptions similar to what we desire; for in such manner, we justify our rejection of the undesirable. On the contrary, we hastily accept an assumption that supports a conclusion we perceive desirable, while giving little mind to the validity of the assumption, or the awareness of a becomingly tolerant society toward improper inquiry. This is human nature, it s unavoidable, but the ignorance thereof, serves as the catalyst to our own servility by standing as the largest hinderance toward proper inquiry and research. Humans can be placed in any situation and we will start to give it some kind of meaning in hopes to gain a basis for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Asymmetric Threats Essay Currently there are several definitions of asymmetric threats listed throughout the internet as well as other literature. The definition that best sums up the meaning in my view is leveraging unconventional tactics against a superior opponent with the goal of disrupting the willingness to achieve the operational objectives. The most common and current example of this would be the insurgency tactics used in Iraq and Afghanistan. The United States must not assume those tactics and strategies will only be used abroad. The same asymmetric threats our country s security initiative is facing are the same challenges are seaports are facing. Some examples of the potential asymmetric threats the United States seaport faces are nuclear weapons,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The impact of a chemical environment would also lessen the dominance of a United States military operation. The United States military is commonly known to operate both deployment and re deployment operations at specific ports of embarkation and debarkation; making targeting for a chemical attack fairly simple. Like chemical weapons, biological weapons are easy to obtain, but the area covered by such an attack is fairly small and limited. The most effective area to use a chemical weapon on a seaport would be the operation center of that port due to the limited damage it will cause to the infrastructure. The psychological effect of VX or Sarin would devastate any port operation and to trace the origin of the agents would prove to be very difficult. The most common vulnerabilities to seaports exist due to the geographical location and the amount of activity surrounding most seaports. Highways, railways, and joining waterways create many security issues and make larger seaports terrorist strategic targets. The sheer size of the sea requires numerous resources and assets from agencies such as the United States Coast Guard. The task of monitoring and securing seaports is an international challenge because the United States trade goods with various countries. Security standards vary from country to country causing any substandard port to become an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Is Huck Finn Wrong Tabitha Perez 08/16/17 One of the main scenes in TAHF that came to mind after being asked which scene I could personally relate to is when Huck Finn just can t seem to avoid moral conflicts. There have been many times in my life when I wasn t sure of what to do in a sticky situation and that s when I question myself most. In the text it states, Pap always said it warn t no harm to borrow things if you was meaning to pay them back some time, but the widow said it warn t anything but a soft name for stealing, and no decent body would do it. Nevertheless, governments, when hard pressed during economic crises or as a result of political upheavals, have sometimes repudiated their public debts in whole or in part. In many cases, also, a government to whom another is in debt may agree to forgive the debt or reschedule its payment over a longer period. History In earlier times debts contracted by heads of state had the legal status of personal debt; public debt emerged as a systematic element in a country s economy when regular sources of income became available to provide funds to repay loans, a monetary system became fully formed, and an organized money market came into operation. The first examples of public debt surfaced in the late 17th century in Europe and became more prevalent with the rise of the modern state and the banking and credit system that grew out of the Industrial Revolution. Today, the finances involved in contracting and redeeming the public debt of a country are a sizable proportion of its government budget. Each and every person must call themselfs we and considering the circumstances, our as if they are multiple people. The council feels as if they must have this rule because if these humans were to go around talking as if they are one person, it would be unequal. Plagued by the social chaos of the Gilded Age, Julian West falls asleep with difficulty in 1887 to wake up to the Boston of year 2000, and finds out that all the evils bothering him in the 19th century have been cast aside. As the last sparkles of the Civil War cooled down, a period of transformation took over U.S. and the endeavour to restore post Civil War economy initiated. • 30. Philosophy of Religion The Cosmological argument argues for the existence of God a posteriori based on the apparent order in the universe. For Aristotle, the existence of the universe needs an explanation, a cause, as it could not have come from nothing. Nothing comes from nothing so since there is something, there must have been some other thing that is its cause. Aristotle rules out an infinite progression of causes, so, that led to the conclusion that there must be a First Cause. Likewise with motion, there must have been a first cause; Aristotle calls this the Prime Mover . There is a God, says Aristotle for how else does motion begin? Whilst this argument does generally offer some support for the existenceof God, it does not prove his existence. Aquinas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, Hume claimed that it is not possible to prove the existence of a being who is unknowable and existentially different from all other beings. A further argument against the cosmological argumentis presented by Anthony Kenny. According to his analysis, the cause of change must possess a property which will initiate the change. For example, for something to become hot, the thing that causes the change must itself possess the property of heat. But modern science rejects this argument, for instance, microwaves can generate heat without themselves being hot. Therefore, it is not foolhardy to argue that the universe exists and as a result of highly finely tuned probabilities, from simple compounds to what we see today. But still, Descartes reconstruction of the argument seems to postulate that, the cause of change must possess a property which will initiate the change, which is in direct conflict with Kenny s point. Yet, Aquinas says Kenny is not giving a straightforward metaphysical analysis, but an analysis which presumes a standard, and also doubtful physics. Overall, the cosmological argument, while making a good attempt to prove the existence of God is largely unsuccessful chiefly because it makes huge empirical assumptions. Firstly, it assumes that the world does, in fact, exist. And secondly, we cannot prove that a world exists on the basis of a posteriori premises, therefore cannot infer from it that it has a cause, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In particular, Gladwell wrote a chapter about what has become to be known as The 10,000 Hour Rule. This rule states that after 10,000 hours of practice a person, no matter who they are, will be an expert at that skill. Although I agree with Gladwell in his knowledge, practice, and a lot of it, is necessary to become an expert in something, I cannot accept his statement that 10,000 hours ... Deliberate practice is a term used to describe when a person practices attentively. There is no loss of focus in this type of practicing and the person often pushes themselves to the limits constantly. She is too fair, too wise; wisely too fair, There is also a parental love for Juliet when lord Capulet is talking to Paris as he is very overprotective and wants to make sure that his daughter only gets the best. He is also trying to delay the marriage by saying it is better to wait a while. She is the hopeful lady of my earth. Lord Capulet does love Juliet but he thinks of himself as the dominant figure. The argument that I will be imposing is that despite Nietzsche contrasting view on both Good Bad morality with Good Evil morality they are the same as it is just peoples view on them that has led them to think that they are different from each other. In the first essay by Nietzsche in The Genealogy of Morals, he explains both how the words good and bad become defined and how they have changed over time through people s perception. The utility of the unegotistic action is supposed to be the source of the approval accorded it, and this source is supposed to have been forgotten. The quote comes to show that the word good itself has different meanings according to one s psychological judgement as it is defined by the persons ego. The rich have decided what is determined good and bad, therefore their opinion is contradictory as they will present the poor people as being liars and bad in comparison to themselves as good and pure. In the other hand the Jewish culture s formula of who was perceived good and bad was also changed as opposed to the rich being the good, the poor who are alone were the good and the ones with god. This shows that ideology of what is perceived to be good and band changes as those in power have a difference of opinion on these moralities. Kharif season is after first rains of south west monsoon in India, which is in June July and harvest happens in September and October. Rabi season starts after the kharif season and more popularly termed winter crop with plantation in November and harvest in February/March. Cultivation is triggered by the onset of the monsoon. Inputs such as seeds and capital equipment and preparatory farm equipment would be required at the initiation of crop farming. As the crop firms up, farmers would need fertilizers, crop nutrients, and pesticides. Later, farmers would need farmer extension support services, harvesting support, and support in reaching the markets. All these activities require an effective inventory management policy across the supply chain. The players deploy inventory concepts such as cycle inventory, safety inventory, seasonal inventory, and pipeline inventory. Inventory could be in the form of raw material, work in progress, or finished goods. Cycle inventory is the average inventory that builds up within the supply chain, because a supply chain stage either produces or purchases in lots that are larger in volume than the demands of customers. Raw materials, components, and parts are required for production. The cycle plays a crucial role in keeping the production process continuous. Just as artist view art with different perspectives, its reasonable to view the truth in the same way, therefore everything we see is a perspective not the truth. Italo Calvino uses the art of writing and fictionto enlighten us with the truth, that is not really a truth but rather what you interpret from your perspective, and suggests that things are not always what they appear to be in The Nonexistent Knight.
