This document provides information and resources for planning World Refugee Day 2016 events. It includes an agenda for a webinar on this topic, with sections on the background and history of World Refugee Day, planning ideas, liturgical resources, local event planning, education and advocacy, and #RefugeesWelcome dinner ideas. Bios of webinar presenters are provided. Resources on the global refugee crisis, US state anti-refugee legislation, and Episcopal materials are referenced. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions. Contact information is provided for follow up.
Here is the slide how (minus the videos) about the six events happening this Spring for the Hampton Roads community. Three events are specifically focused on helping the Church respond the growing crises in America by repenting before God for the sins of the Church in America. If we do not heed the "Emergency Procedures" of 2 Chron. 7:13-14 now, we do so to our own peril as a nation. God wants to pour out His Spirit on His Church again as He did in 2 Chron. 7:1-3 but first He wants us to follow His Emergency Procedures now that our nation and His Church has fallen into so much sin.
This is the final of three Advent Advocacy Briefings intended to update Episcopalians on the refugee resettlement crisis and how they can support and advocate for refugees.

Funders for LGBTQ Issues' Annual Tracking Report - to be released on February 24 - analyzes the trends, gaps, and opportunities related to LGBTQ grantmaking.
Join Funders for LGBTQ Issues staff and young grantmakers with experience advocating internally at their organizations for increased LGBTQ funding for an important conversation. You will leave with a better understanding of the current state of LGBTQ philanthropy and tools to help your institution better support LGBTQ communities.
Speakers:
Naa Hammond, Research & Communications Associate, Funders for LGBTQ Issues
Kristi Andrasik, Program Officer, The Cleveland Foundation
Luis Vivaldi, Program Associate, Foundation for a Just Society

At the end of our wedding ceremony, the wedding party started to walk down the aisle just like in every other wedding , but as we get to the end of the aisle I notice that all of our attendants are stopped, looking up to the balcony – in awe. I look up and realize they are looking up at my new cousin, Rosie, but they all know her as Rosa Parks, the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.
Today, I’d like to share with you through my journey and my cousin’s journey why your legacy is important to you, your family and your community.. I know that many of you have faced many challenges in your lives - finding your legacy comes with struggles, uphill battles and many challenges – it doesn’t mean that you are failing - - it means that you are one-step closer to accomplishing a great goal.
On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, Episcopal Migration Ministries hosted Love in Action: Episcopal Churches Welcome Refugees, a free, one-hour educational webinar. Attendees learned about community efforts born out of Episcopal congregations to create a welcoming community for refugees and immigrants. Three faith communities shared stories about their local community and interfaith initiatives to create a ministry of welcome. Presenters were West Virginia Interfaith Refugee Ministry, Northern Virginia Friends of Refugees, and Refugee Community Center, Allentown.
At the 2016 CCIH Annual Conference, Andrea Kaufmann of World Vision International discussed the role of faith leaders in communities and how faith leaders can be very influential in increasing the use of family planning.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
