The number of forcibly displaced persons has reached the highest levels since World War II, with over 65 million people displaced in recent years according to UNHCR. A regional initiative aimed to resettle 40,000 Congolese refugees in Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda between 2012-2015, but fell short of its targets with only around 27,500 resettled across the four countries as reported by the RSC-Africa in February 2015.
