Een kennismaking met de eerste resultaten van een Europees project over de rol van de schoolleider. Sinds we iedere drie jaar worden geconfronteerd met de
resultaten van het PISA-onderzoek, door de OECD geïnitieerd, is de discussie ontstaan over de mate waarin de schoolleider invloed heeft op de resultaten van leerlingen. Met andere woorden: doet het er iets toe of een school een slechte, een goede of een excellente schoolleider heeft?
De VO-raad is projectleider van een Europees project, waarin deze vraagstelling centraal staat. Zijn we in staat om de
kwaliteit van het werk van de schoolleider te verbeteren en heeft dat dan effect op de resultaten van leerlingen? Zeven landen werken in dit project samen met drie wetenschappers van de Open Universiteit Cyprus, de Universiteit Twente en het
Deutsches Institut für Internationale Pädagogische Forschung in Berlijn. De wetenschappers ontwikkelen instrumenten die in de scholen gebruikt kunnen worden om zicht te krijgen op de rol van de schoolleider én op de verwachtingen die docenten van de schoolleider hebben. Workshopleiders Bob van de Ven en Karin van Oort lichten de eerste resultaten van het project toe. U maakt kennis met de
producten die zijn ontwikkeld; vragenlijsten aan docenten, en een ‘framework’ waarin de rol van de schoolleider schematisch en overzichtelijk is beschreven.
