A big welcome to any new employees that are
joining us. We are excited to have you with us and
welcome back to our current employees.
This slide presentation has been collated for you to create
an awareness of the practices and procedures we have
within our studio regarding OH&S.
It is to also act as a refresher and to update any new
legislation that comes to pass within the industry.

Studios Safety Procedures
 Copies of the written procedures can be obtained from your
supervisor. Copies can be made for you to take away and
study if you require.
 Our studio follows the latest legal legislation and this up-to-
date information can also be sought from your supervisor or
nominated safety representative. Any new legislation that
comes in will be passed on in our studio meetings and
displayed on the notice board in the lunchroom.
 Safety Representatives will make regular inspections to
ensure the studio is running safely and all correct procedures
are being followed.
Equipment Safety Checks
 Lighting – not causing too much glare or shadows
 Desk - height and stability
 Chair – adjustments of height, seat tilt, back rest with lumbar and neck
support
 Desk - layout and ease of access to items
 Space - not cramped
 Manual Handling – ensuring that things are carried correctly
 Air Quality – temperature, dust filtering
 Monitors – glare from windows and the correct height
 Noise – ear protection for noisy environments
 Foot rests – Ensuring that they are adjusted properly.

To maintain and provide -
Responsibilities of employees
 Take reasonable care of own personal
health and safety, and that of others in the
workplace.
 Complying with any reasonable directions
given by management relating to health and
safety.
Procedure for reporting
risks and incidents
A written record must always be made and must include the following details:
 WHO: Name of the injured person, Names of any witnesses and their contact details
and the name of the person reporting the incident i.e. yourself if you were filling
out the form
 WHAT: Description of what happened, what injury was sustained and any other damage
that was caused.
 WHERE: Workplace name and address, the exact location within the workplace grounds
i.e. near LEXAR printer or in lunchroom.
 WHEN: Date and time of the incident. Some forms also ask that you give the date and
time that you are filling out the report as well so be aware of this.
 WHY: Your view as to why the incident happened i.e. puckered carpet or contents of
the box was too heavy.
 HOW: In your view, how the incident could have been prevented and any further action
that may need to be taken to ensure this. i.e. repairs, training etc.
What to do in an emergency
In case of a Fire
 Upon hearing the fire alarm, stop what you are doing and quickly secure any confidential material,
save what you are doing on the computer, collect your personal belongings and head to the
nearest exit.
 Do this in a calm and orderly manner, helping anyone with a disability to also leave the building.
 Close but do not lock doors behind you.
 DO NOT use the lifts. Use the stairs to ascend to lower levels if you need to.
 Head to the Emergency Evacuation Assembly area as set out in the workplace map.
 DO NOT re enter the building until the all clear has been given by the Fire Warden or the Fire
Department.
In case of an Injury
 Contact your nearest First Aid Officer
 Complete an incident report
