employees.
Sentence: She broadsided her assistant with words that weren’t easily
comprehended because she refused to clean her boss’s toilet.
Merciless
mer-si-les (adjective)
Definition: Having or showing no mercy or pity
Example: The presidential candidate was merciless in his criticism of
his opponents.
Sentence: He made the merciless decision to abandon his friend as he
jumped out of the airplane with the last parachute.

Definition: To arouse curiosity or interest
Example: Our curiosity was piqued by the locked chest hidden at the
back of the old ship.

Sop
SAHP (noun)
Definition: Bride, gift or gesture
Example: The contractor offered higher price bathroom fixtures at no
extra cost as a sop to the home owner, who was threatening to cancel
the contract.
Sentence: He tried to sop her with bundles of roses for a chance to try
and win back her love, knowing that he could be rejected he
courageously walks over to her.
Flatfoot
FLAT-foot (noun)
Definition: Slang police officer, especially a patrolman walking the
beat
Example: In his latest movie, the actor plays an earnest flatfoot who is
bested by some clever crooks.
Sentence: The smart flatfoot out smarted the criminal that try to
disguise himself as a banker to steal money.
Contumacious

Definition: Stubbornly disobedient rebellious.
