Here is a film pitch I have created to go towards my media research.

1. Film Pitch

2.  The mission is to create a family drama for teenage boys.
 Since teenage boys take interest in action, I have decided to take a unique approach to
the drama type movie and involve powers and action scenes that are dramatic.
 I considered what generally takes teenage boys interests in the film industry (Fast and
Furious, James Bond etc.) and used this as an outline to start my pitch.
 As you may notice in this day and age, most movies tend to belong to franchises or are
remakes of classic movies, I want to make an independent film and try to make it as
realistic as possible, however since teenage boys enjoy fantasy, I have incorporated this
into my idea as well.
 Actors and soundtracks I feel are most important when making a movie as they enhance
the genre and atmosphere of a movie, therefore I have considered using A List lovable
actors to play the roles. I believe that Imagine Dragons will provide an excellent soundtrack
as their alternative rock style music will create a dramatic environment in the movie.

3.  Percy (Dave Franco) and Tom (James Franco) were separated at a very young age when their
parents died in a car explosion. Percy crawled away from the scene. There was no sign of him for
several days until a couple (Keaton and Leo) discover him whilst on a hike in the lake scene where
the car explosion was. There was no background history on the child so they decided to take him in
as their own. However, he developed a power by eating a mutant ant by mistake whilst trying to
survive in the woods, where in which he could control a person’s future, anybody. Many years later,
he finds out his true identity and meets with his real brother and Sylvia (Jessica Lange) his
grandmother. Tom has an unsuccessful life, no employment and still at home with Sylvia. Tom aged
28 and Percy aged 24 The both brothers connect straight away, until Percy reveals his power. There
is an urge of jealousy within the Walkshaw family. Tom begins to make Percy’s life a misery and it
begins to ruin both his and their grandmothers life. Sylvia can no longer take the feuding pair and
she demands them to leave the house. Tom is so overpowered by jealousy that he beats Percy to the
ground and drastically murders him by too many punches to the head. Percy immediately dies and
his body is thrown into a river. Sylvia questions the whereabouts of Percy to Tom and he lies, states
that he is on a business trip to London. In the process, Tom returns home to care for ageing Sylvia.
He stumbles across a journal Percy kept about all the futures he will control.

5.  The opening scene is by a country road where the explosion occurs.
 Percy crawls into a nearby wood for which he remains for several days. However he
does return to the lake scene when the couple discover him alone and take him in.
 His adopted father and mother live in a typical suburban household which means that it
is more realistic.
 When it is revealed Percy has the power, it is through high school when he was bullied
and he wishes an unfortunate future on one of the bullies.
 The grandmother however owns a large mansion but still based near other houses.
 The scene in which Percy is murdered, it is in an abandoned alleyway.

6. These are some ideas

7.  The Franco Brothers are an interesting
combination to have in a movie considering that
they are related in real life. There is no need to
find a slight lookalike when looking for actors
now as the actual relations are playing brother
and sister. Both the brothers play different
characters in movie roles. For instance, James
plays more violent characters like in Spider Man
and Spring Breakers whereas Dave is more of an
innocent role like in Unfinished Business and
Warm Bodies.
 I have chosen Jessica Lange as the
rich grandmother looking after the
boys. In her previous roles in
American Horror Story, she has
always played supreme and leading
roles such as Constance in Murder
House and Fiona the supreme in
Coven. This is why she will play a
particularly good role as an
overpowering grandmother.
Moral of the Movie
My movie is trying to display the drastic effects of
jealousy and how it can distort peoples mentality. It is
not a good trait to have no matter what exceptional
crisis you may be going through.

8.  The audience I was given was teenage boys. As simple
research, I asked some of my boy classmates what
interests them in a movie and what kind of actors they
enjoy watching. The main response was action and they
referred to most of their favourite actors as James
Bond characters.
 As a result of this feedback, I decided to incorporate
some action in my film pitch as this will thoroughly
intrigue the target audience. However, it could be quite
a touching storyline for them to watch as it may be
linked to personal experiences due to the plots realism
about brotherhood.
