Aim of opening session to a school or college is
To usher or initiate the first year students into the school /college community and
Introduce them formally to life and activities that exist within this small society, a microcosm in a macrocosm.
This equips them with the requisite knowledge they need
For a successful stay and
To be able to achieve their goal or target in view.
The aim of any academic institution curriculum expects nothing but excellent academic performance of students who come out of the education programmes
This excellence prepares them to fill vacancy created by the old, weak and weary adult citizens, functioning to the expectation of society. Questions thus arise areWhat exactly academic excellence is?
Who should contributes to manifest it?
What one does to ensure academic excellence?
What benefits an academic excellent person derives?
What challenges are involved in the quest to achieving this academic excellence?
Theory for working with difficult and/or unmotivated students. When is a student considered to be problematic? Addressing problems early. Appropriate intervention strategies. Do's and don'ts. Referrals to other resources.

Quantifying the Effects of an Active Learning Strategy on the Motivation of S...Zin Eddine Dadach
The main objective of this paper is to use performance of students in order to quantify the effects of an active learning strategy on their motivation.
In the first part of the investigation, the relative performance of students was used as a tool to gauge the effects of the active learning strategy on the motivation of students. The results indicate that the active learning strategy enhanced the performance of 38 (69%) students.
For the second part of this quantitative method, the Dadach Motivation Factor ‘DMF’ was introduced in order to measure the effects of the active learning strategy on the motivation of students. Based on the requirement of the analysis (DMF> 1), the final results suggest that the active learning strategy has enhanced the motivation and increased the performance of twenty-two (40%) students. On the other hand, motivation did not have a significant role for the other sixteen (29%) students whose performance in the process control course (FGP) was higher than their average performance in the department (CGPA).
The results of the quantitative approach were compared with the student survey.

The presentation starts out by looking at the profound effect of the present industrial revolution on all aspects of society including how we live, how we produce things, how we learning and how we develop and share knowledge. It goes on to examine how learning and knowledge development takes place in Small and Medium Enterprises through processes of social networking and in communities of practice.
The following section looks at different forms of learning and the move from knowledge transmission models to models of networked learning based on connectivism.
The final section of the presentation considers the implications for education and training systems and providers. It proposes a move towards personal learning environments (PLEs).

Scholarship Essay
Being a Malaysian, I recognize Malaysia’s need for home-grown skills and talent in the shape of planers (professionals with solutions) and seekers (those in dire need) collaborating towards sustainable development. I fall into both categories. Coming from a poor background single parent family in Malaysia, my biggest challenge is helping to improve the lives of the impoverished through good morals, governance, and sustainable development. The need for problem solvers capable of using cross-disciplinary and cross-jurisdictional strategies to solve multifaceted challenges is critical for the country. This has prompted my application for the Gamuda Scholarship.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to transform lives in my community. Indeed, I have taken part in various volunteering programs focused towards helping homeless youth those in need and the environment, such as representing my secondary school in planning of International Coastal Clean-up Singapore 2014 with Beatty Secondary School (Singapore) and the representatives from National University of Singapore (NUS) volunteers, and various programmes Sikh Flag Day to raise funds for disadvantaged people in the community. so that they can achieve something meaningful with their lives. To attain my goals and dreams, I realize that I must successfully complete my college education and this begins with attaining this scholarship. I am very excited and hopeful about my future prospects and feel that the chance your scholarship will facilitate, I will be able to change lives all over Malaysia, and even the Asian continent.
I am currently undertaking have currently being offered and accepted Bachelor of Business and Commerce Undergraduate programme from Monash University Malaysia, which is starting in July 2018, and I am looking for scholarship support to continue with my studies. The scholarship will help me to pursue my dream of advancing my field of study through research and collaboration with other professionals. I am adamant about continuing my education until I have earned the highest possible credentials. I am passionate, hardworking, and dedicated to becoming a future problem solver for my country. Indeed, I believe that will bring a unique and much-desired perspective to my graduate program in Malaysia, and I will take the technical and theoretical knowledge from my education program to transform lives.
Furthermore, my competence in other areas such as linguistics is evident in my mastery of 3 languages, namely English, Chinese and Japanese, and having certifications such as HSK (Chinese Certification accepted by the Chinese Government) Level 6 (the highest level in HSK) in top 20th percentile, JLPT (a Japanese Language Proficiency Examination) N2 Level with full marks and A1 grade in Japanese in GCE O Level, as well as taking 100% English-medium educational programmes and examinations, namely GCE O Le ...
SkillsCamp is a soft skills training company. We are helping you retain and maintain engaged, effective employees through soft skill development.
Across all industries, employers and industry leaders are identifying soft skills like communication, teamwork, time management, emotional intelligence, and leadership as critical skills for prospects and employees alike. Yet these core skills and several others take a backseat in the traditional education model. The result is students who become employees without the requisite abilities to excel in their careers. June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Student Success
2. student
I want the student to feel that they can learn. In foundational
courses some students feel that they can’t.
Cross-training across areas - so all staff/faculty can problem
solve and help students.
I believe any efforts, be they large or small, that make students
feel part of the academic community, make them feel special
and privileged, will go even further to promote student
success.
We need to develop new ways to engage students in their
success and eliminate failure syndrome… Encourage and
develop professors in using new approaches…

We offer diverse programs to meet the needs of the diverse
population of our city.
To understand our students' experiences… people need to
interact with students as they navigate our systems or take
classes or use our other services.
…Get a better understanding of what students need versus

4. success
I define student success as the achievement of student goals,
whatever they may be. If a student comes to CCP for a degree
and attains one, that is success. If a student comes to better his
or her command of the language, that is success. Within the
classroom, every positive step toward that goal is a success.
…We have departments like the Center for Male Engagement,
Student Success Initiatives, and other leadership programs
(cohorts) that are very successful.
…Make sure we have a clear guideline of what fostering student
success will look like on the College level.

27. space
Increasing communal spaces for faculty and students would
encourage more collegiality.
There is not enough space for students to hold their own council
meeting.
The World-class facility has a physical space to communicate the
mission and value of the facility and promote engaged citizenry -
… we should have civic spaces.
Need for large event space (for transfer fairs, community
festivals, etc.)

28. campus
The presentation of the campus is paramount.
The Viaduct is an unsightly edge of our campus.
The furniture we use around campus does not support “peer
learning”.
The CCP campus needs to be fully ADA compliant.
Need for stronger link from CBI to rest of campus.
Scheduled time between classes causes massive bottlenecks,
difficult for some students to get from one end of campus to
another.

29. building
We are doing a disservice to the history of the Mint building.
Our Student Life building clearly says students are not the
priority. They need club space and charging stations throughout
the campuses.
We may have great buildings but we are terrible with our
maintenance.
Better Wi-Fi is needed throughout the buildings.
Need better/simpler security system for accessing buildings -
[example:] tap card access

30. classroom
All classrooms should be “smart classrooms”.
The classroom furniture is [of] mixed types [with] a sense of
“left overs”.
For ideal learning environments, Active Learning Classrooms
should be put in place at least enough of them to match industry
standards…
The classrooms are very frustrating… you try to use something
[and] it is in need of service. The students and faculty get
frustrated.
More computerized classrooms with student work stations.

31. facility
No fields [or] facilities for athletes.
Clear ROI on improving facilities both in student impression
and employer/partner perception.
CBI is a good example of a world-class facility.
CCP is behind most colleges in its facilities & [the] NWRC is
behind all of [the] CCP campuses...
The change for CCP to become a world-class facility should be
done with clearly defined and communicated goals and
objectives, then steady regular progress.
