2. Wool is a natural protein fiber. The finest wool is collect from young
sheep. Sheared wool is called fleece or clip wool and wool taken from
the hides of slaughtered animal is called pulled wool which is inferior in
quality to fleece or clip wool. The earliest fragments of wool fabric have
been found in Egypt but Mesopotamia is the birth place of wool.

Effect of Acid: Concentrated HNO2 and H2SO4 destroy the fiber.
Effect of Alkali: Destroy all bonds in wool fiber.
Effect of Bleach: Harmful.
Heat: wool fiber decomposed at 204°C.
Dye Ability: Easy to dye, reactive dyestuff is suitable.

8.  In addition to clothing, wool has been used for blankets,
horse rugs, saddle cloths, carpeting, felt, wool insulation
(also see links) and upholstery.
 Wool felt covers piano hammers, and it is used to absorb
odors and noise in heavy machinery and stereo speakers.
