Exploring features of 8-bit microcontroller e.g. SPI interface, Internal & External Interrupt handling etc.

- Scanning switches in normal/interrupt mode, DIP switch handing
- On-board 4×4 matrix keypad input handling
- Activation and de-activation of buzzer
- Electromagnetic relay interface for driving/enabling Actuator (e.g. solenoid valve, stepper motor)
- Multiplexing methods of seven segment displays
- Interface a graphics LCD for its proper operation.
- 10 bit Analog to Digital converter (ADC) operation
- Study of different configuration parameters like channel selection, sample rate/conversion time parameters,
single/differential mode selection, reference voltage setting, interrupt mode of operation etc.
- Universal synchronous and asynchronous serial receiver and transmitter (USART) operation
- Communication with serial devices like Digital Transducers, Wireless Modules, serial Camera etc.
- Communication between Universal Board and desktop/laptop is to be achieved with the help of on-board Serial to
USB converter chip.

The needs of wireless networks in novel service scenarios and application contexts are continuously and rapidly
evolving. Most research work on protocols or system architectures is typically done based on analytical models
and/or simulations. The focus of this product is to serve as means / tool for research in real world practical
experimental aspects of multihop wireless networks and systems with multimedia content, and help in designing,
developing and evaluating novel distributed wireless applications & pervasive computing environment. WMSN kit
facilitates this challenging task, as it involves inter-diciplinery work and several technological issues (sensor
architectures, efficient networking protocol design, data handling, context awareness, power management, security,
fault tolerance and reliability, etc.), as well as the industrial-economic aspects related to the introduction of such
novel paradigms and their benefits for the society & industry.
