This document describes a touch screen and Zigbee based control system for apartments using an embedded system. The system uses a microcontroller, touch screen, Zigbee modules, and other components to allow users to control home appliances in their apartment wirelessly via the touch screen or voice commands. The microcontroller interfaces with the touch screen, Zigbee modules, and other devices. It receives input from the touch screen or other inputs and sends wireless signals via Zigbee to control appliances like lights and fans. The system aims to provide a compact, user-friendly, and low-cost way to remotely control home appliances within an apartment.
Design and implementation of microcontroller in fpga for io tIJARIIT
One of the buzz words in the Information Technology is the Internet of Things (IoT). In coming years, IoT will
transform the objects which are present in the real world into virtual objects. IoT keep us informed about the status of objects
and controls of things in a sensor network. Sensor node comprises of the sensor, microcontroller and RF transceiver. A
microcontroller is an integrated circuit which basically performs one task and executes a particular application. It contains
programmable in/out peripherals, memory, and processor. Microcontrollers are mostly designed in view of embedded and are
used to automatically controllable systems. In digital system design microcontrollers and field programmable gate arrays
(FPGAs), both are widely used. Microcontroller based devices are becoming increasingly widespread. On one hand, high speed,
power, and falling prices make them an obvious choice whereas fast growing popularity of FPGAs, the availability of powerful
development tools and the increase in speed and high density have made FPGA based systems an alternative choice. Sensor node
controller is going to develop using VHDL with behavioral modeling which is an abstract model of the controller and breaks
down of the system into subcomponents and functional blocks.

My thesis work on Cognitive automation of Electric appliancesAkhil Reddy Rondla
Throwback everyone felt anxious and perilous towards the home appliances switching to overcome these complications, in past days we had ample technologies are came into the market like person detector sensor, remote operation and clap to on the appliances etc. even though the lot of members are felt atrocious towards the operation of home appliances to mitigate all those issues, we came up with an outstanding technology at present the world is being like an instant work and instant output and comes to our project is voice controlling home automation system using Bluetooth technology through this application we should sound off commands like TV is on or TV is off likewise all the appliances using 8051 family microcontroller. Bluetooth modules are more reliable, secure and low power modules and these modules do not require line of sight also. We can use mobile Bluetooth by developing some applications or we can use normal USB Bluetooth dongles by connecting to PC.

Automation takes the complete control of total plants few authentication and manual actions are needed from user side for completing action .Hence there is a must situation for users presence at all times in the control for taking some timely needed control actions. The proposed system provides a good solution to this problem. The whole control room environment is additionally implemented in the arm-android platform and the same is communicated to the process through Bluetooth. Now the user in control can use mobile at anytime, anywhere to monitor and control the whole plant.8051 is used here for acquiring process control parameters from the sensors like temperature, gas etc and transmitting it via a Bluetooth module to an android device. Hence the parameter values can be monitored and stored simultaneously.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

1. TOUCH SCREEN AND ZIGBEE BASED CONTROL SYSTEM
FOR APARTMENTS BASED ON EMBEDDED SYSTEM
R.shanmuga vadivu, M.Sc., Electronics, Seethalakshmi ramaswami college, Trichy, Tamil nadu.
Abstract:Embedded Technology is now in its prime and the wealth of knowledge available is mind blowing. A system
is a way of working, organizing or doing one or many tasks according to a fixed plan, program, or set of rules. An
embedded system is a one that has computer hardware with software embedded in it as one of its most important
components, with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing
constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts. By contrast, a
general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, is designed to be flexible and to meet a wide range of end-user
needs. Embedded systems control many devices in common use today.
Modern embedded systems are often based on microcontrollers but ordinary microprocessors are also still
common, especially in more complex systems. In either case, the processor used may be types ranging from rather general
purpose to very specialised in certain class of computations, or even custom designed for the application at hand. An
Embedded System: It is a combination of hardware and software to perform a specific task. It has five main components:
a)Real Time Operating System (RTOS) b) microcontroller
c) Integrated chips d) Industry e)Printed circuit board
assembly which supervises the application software and provides a mechanism to control various processes. Embedded
system is now explained with specific task which contains hardware and software controls various processes. Since the
embedded system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it to reduce the size and cost of the product
and increase the reliability and performance.
In this paper we are using primary data dealing with touch screen and zigbee based control system for
apartments. By touching and voice replaying we can control the home appliances using zigbee.
Introduction:Embedded systems have become an integral part of daily life. An embedded system is
a combination of computer hardware, software, and additional mechanical or other technical
components, designed to perform a dedicated function. Be it a cell phone, a smartcard, a
2. music player, a router, or the electronics in an automobile - these systems have been touching
and changing modern lives like never before. Most of the embedded systems need to meet
real time computing requirements. a)Real time operating system (RTOS) b)hardware c)
software. In this paper the home appliances are used in apartment is controlled using
zigbee and touch screen.
Key words:- Microcontroller PIC and ATMEL, zigbee, touch screen, APR
9600.
Functions:
The uppermost layer is the application layer. In-between, there are other layers
which
may comprise components like device drivers and communication protocols. A
special genre of operating systems known as the real-time operating system (RTOS) is
usually required to cater to the deadline-driven requirements of an embedded system. The
lowermost layer comprises the printed circuit board that accommodates all the semiconductor
devices, buses and related electronics.
With increasing functionality, the selection of a particular technology, standard and
functionality for the next product release is at times a tough call for product managers and
architects. While a focus on innovation, upcoming standards and enriched user experience is
required, it is a challenge to decide which technology and idea to pursue and nurture.
Embedded systems are deployed in various applications and span all aspects of modern life.
3. Touch screen:
The touch screen panel consists of an insulator. The different values of
variable are used to as the input of touch screen. The analog output is given to
microcontroller.
Keypad:
The keypad is generally used for typewriting. In
this block diagram
keypad is used instead of toggle switch. Is the input of keypad. The output is given to
controller.
LCD:
The liquid crystal display is a thin flat electronic visual display. The
analog signal from microcontroller is the input of LCD. The value will be display is
the output of LCD.
4. ZIGBEE:
The zigbee is the main part of block diagram. The output of
microcontroller is a input of zigbee(1). The output is given to another zigbee(2).
The data transmitted
from zigbee(1)’s output as a input of zigbee(2). The data is
received and the output is given to microcontroller.
Microcontroller:-
8-bit controllers were widespread for quite a long time and are still powering a multitude of
embedded applications, for instance, in home appliances, smartcards and automotive body
electronics. To cater to the need for higher performance, these controllers advanced
towards16-bit to 32-bit, as used in routers, cell phones and media players.
New applications in the areas of imaging,
rendering, compression, multimedia and recognition demand higher bandwidth, enhanced
processing capabilities, quicker response times and more efficient algorithms. There is a
definite requirement of processors with multiple cores that would improve the throughput of
the application while reducing power consumption, cost of operation and increasing
reliability. Thus, semiconductor companies have introduced a single chip comprising multiple
cores. Microcontroller: The microcontroller that has been used for this project is from
PIC series. The analog signal which is got from touch screen is the input. The output is
fed into the ZIGBEE.
Many of the gaming consoles and network processors use multicore processors. The output
of zigbee (2) and keypad is the input of microcontroller. The output is given to
APR9600 and the driver circuit.
5. APR9600:
The APR9600 is used as voice recording and replaying. The output
of keypad and microcontroller is the input of APR9600. The ouput is given to the
speaker.
WIRELESS:
For a long time, embedded devices were mostly operating as stand-alone systems. However,
with the advent of wireless connectivity, the scenario has changed. Both, short-range wireless
protocols like Bluetooth, Zigbee, RFID, near field communications (NFC) and long-range
protocols such as, wireless local area network (WLAN), WiMAX, long term evolution (LTE)
and cellular communications are bound to witness more widespread applications in the
near future. The recent trends in wireless for use in embedded systems are in the areas of
system-on-chip (SoC) architecture, reduced power consumption and application of short
range protocols.
Short range protocol:
Zigbee is a consortium of more than 200 major players seeking to tap into the
potential billion-dollar market of wireless sensor networks. The fundamental concept behind
this consortium is interoperability between the devices manufactured by different vendors. To
certify a device as Zigbee -enabled, one needs to comply with certain standards other than the
routine RF regulatory tests. For all such cases, the MAC protocol is the standard defined
by IEEE as 802.15.4. It is possible to define a better algorithm (like an energy-efficient
routing protocol for very large networks) without using either IEEE MAC or the Zigbee
stack.
6. Software:
KEIL:-
Keil development tools for the 8051 Microcontroller Architecture support every
level of software developer from the professional applications engineer to the student just
learning about embedded software development. The industry-standard Keil C Compilers,
Macro Assemblers, Debuggers, Real-time Kernels, Single-board Computers, and Emulators
support all 8051 derivatives and help you get your projects completed on schedule.
Simulator:
The Keil hardware simulator for the popular 8051 microcontroller is on the CD-ROM
so that readers can try out examples from the book - and create new ones - without requiring
additional hardware. All code is written in C, so no assembly language is required. Industrystandard C compiler from Keil software is included on the CD-ROM, along with copies of
code examples from the book to get you up and running very quickly. Key techniques
required in all embedded systems are covered in detail, including the control of port pins and
the reading of switches. A complete embedded operating system is presented, with full source
code on the CD-ROM.
Result and Discussion:
The progress in science & technology is a non-stop process. New things and new
technology are being invented. As the technology grows day by day, we can imagine about
the future in which thing we may occupy every place.
The proposed system based on
Atmel microcontroller is found to be more compact, user friendly and less complex, which
can readily be used in order to perform. Several tedious and repetitive tasks. Though it is
