Early Life
• Shakespeare was born in April 1564 in Stratford-upon-
Avon.
• He was one of 8 brothers and sisters. Shakespeare got
married at the age of 18 and he had three children.
Education
• Shakespeare went to Primary school but
he didn’t have a University education.
• He had to leave school at the age of 14
because of his father’s financial problems.
Early Career
• He left his family in Stratford and moved to
London. By 1592, he was quite a well-
known actor and playwright.
• He bought a theatre called the Globe
Theatre and became rich businessman.
Achievements
• He is a very famous writer around the
world.
• Today Shakespeare’s plays are studied at
universities in every country in the world.
• These are some of his most important
plays: Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet,
Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Othelo, King Lear
and Mesure for mesure.
Death
• Shakespeare died on 3rd May, 1616, in
Stratford-upon-Avon. ( Miguel de
Cervantes died in the same date)
Hamlet
• The ghost of Hamlet's father appears to
him and tells him that Claudius has
poisoned him. Hamlet swears revenge.
Romeo and Juliet
• Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are teenagers
who fall deeply in love but their families are bitter
enemies. They seize the moment and marry in
secret, they make every effort to conceal their
actions but these end in tragedy when Romeo,
Juliet, Tybalt, Mercutio and Paris all die. Themes
running through the play address the issues of the
consequences of immature blind passion, hatred
and prejudice.

political leader of Rome and his goal is to become an
dictator. Caesar is warned that he must "beware the Ides
of March" . The prophecy comes true and Caesar is
assassinated. Marcus Brutus is a well respected Roman
senator who helps plan and carry out Caesar's
assassination which he believes will rid Rome of a
tyrant.
