WILL for the Future
•Do you remember that we
can use going to, to talk about
the future?
Well…
The verb WILL
is similar.
The differences are:
GOING TO WILL
Is to talk about plans. Is to talk about an uncertain future
(where you don’t have a plan).
Is to talk about a near future. Is to talk about a far future.
Is to talk about “predictions”. Is for spontaneous decisions.
For example:
• I’m going to buy a new car the next month.
(You have the plan to buy it)
• I will buy a car someday.
(It’s just an idea, but not a plan).
The structure is:
• I will buy a house in Cancun when I am 60 years old. (Far future)
• My mom will prepare some lemonade for us. (Spontaneous)

