This presentation enables you to understand why wikipedia a good or bad resource for teachers and students. It is important to note that I am presenting this from the point of view of an educator.

learners, we have the
tendency to search for
information on the
internet as a staring
point to familiarize
ourselves or become
more knowledgeable
with places or
subjects that are new
to us.

available source of
information on the
internet today is
Wikipedia.
Its easy, free, and
provides various
sources for everyone
to access.

4. But how reliable is the
information source?

5. •Since everyone can
access, edit, and use
Wikipedia’s resources, we
can not be assured if the
information provided Is
accurate and properly
reliable.
•Although Wikipedia
inspects and scans
irrelevant or
inappropriate biases or
information, it is difficult
to see if Wikipedia is in
fact a reliable and
knowledgeable scholarly
source.

8. Overall, teachers and
students must remember
that although the
Internet is a great
resource place to gather
quick information, we
must keep in mind that it
is also a public space,
where anyone can make a
claim or statement. It’s
important to investigate
and research if the online
resources you are using is
reliable and accurate.
