Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) are becoming valuable platforms for innovative water and energy technologies. There are a number of key drivers for end users that are encouraging a more system based approach to water and energy management on WWTP campuses including: drought (and the corresponding need for greater water reclamation), integration of renewables and storage, energy efficiency and demand response practices to match load with energy supply, overarching decarbonization strategies, system resiliency and reliability, and higher standards for water quality.
This presentation describes the transformation of WasteWater Treatment Centers to Resource Centers.

Experts say South Australia could encourage much MUCH greater stormwater harvesting, not to mention a broader range of water innovation and services, IF we could enable greater third party access.

implementing these practices Atlanta could use rainwater
more efficiently.
In 2015, The Rockefeller Foundation collaborated with several partners to begin developing incentive-based mechanisms to address competition for freshwater, and to bring human water use back in balance with the water needs of freshwater ecosystems in order to build long-term resilience. The early solutions that emerged, and the wider lessons from the group’s work, are captured in this report.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
4. Partners for Water Sustainability
• In Arizona, cities “function like space
stations, importing every ounce of fresh
water from distant rivers or fossil aquifers.”
• “In arid places…physics amplify
evaporation and drought, visible in the
dust-dry farms of the Murray-Darling River
Basin in Australia.

5. Partners for Water Sustainability
“As the state struggles to match water supplies with its
booming population and ensure reliable water delivery to
future generations, the Commission will need to expand its
efforts at conservation into uncharted areas.”
Chairman Kristen Mayes, Arizona Corporation
Commission
“The water industry in South Australia is changing
quite rapidly – so the governance and institutional
arrangements supporting the industry also need to
change,…it will mean South Australia can take a
holistic and integrated approach to water management
for the very first time.”
Commissioner for Water Security, Robyn McLeod
8. Water Scarcity
[The]“water crisis” is really about the political realization in
many parts of the world that we cannot continue to live as if
water availability were not a restraint on our activities. It is a
bit like coming to terms with the fact that Santa Claus does
not exist. For years, politicians and engineers have worked to
create the illusion that abundant water is part of nature’s
bounty, wherever in the world it is required. It was easier to
maintain the pretence of plentiful water in the past.
The illusion is becoming much more difficult to maintain.

21. Infrastructure – ASR/ASTR
Arizona has a rich history in managed aquifer recharge to counteract the
overdraft of groundwater sources, and to “bank” its surface water
allocation
Arizona has a world-class groundwater management plan backed by
Statute
Many Az utilities employ:
Recharge Basins
Vadose Zone Injection Wells
ASR (deep injection)
Environmental allotment – requires accounting of ET losses and
maintains a 5% “cut to the aquifer”

The Global Water Hassayampa River Recharge Project pioneered
“in-basin” recharge.
Transports water from the CAP west of Phoenix to the Hassayampa
