Why should nursing students write essays?

"mechanics" of writing -
grammar, semantics,
structure - will help make
your writing better.
So that you learn how to COMMUNICATE
Being able to explain what
you mean concisely and
accurately is a skill you will
need as a nurse.
It will help you to
communicate better with
patients and other health
care professionals.
So that you learn how to LEARN
The skills you learn about
research, organisation, and
thinking are all part of
learning how to be lifelong
learners.
Writing an essay also helps
you learn more deeply; not
just knowing about
something but being able to
use it, apply it, and even
improve on it.
So that you learn how to THINK.
Writing an essay is not just
