There were well over 100 civilizations that came into being, flourished, and then fizzled out in the last 5,000 years or so. The question always arises: "Why?". This presentation offers some of the answer.
Decolonizing the African Mind: Further Analysis and Strategy by Dr. Uhuru Hotep RBG Communiversity
The central objective in decolonizing the African mind is to overthrow the authority which alien traditions exercise over the African. This demands the dismantling of white supremacist beliefs, and the structures which uphold them, in every area of African life. It must be stressed, however,that decolonization does not mean ignorance of foreign traditions; it simply means denial of their authority and withdrawal of allegiance from them.-Chinweizu-

LIST OF THEMESTHEMES IN HISTORY1. Geographic Determinism on th.docxsmile790243
LIST OF THEMES
THEMES IN HISTORY
1. Geographic Determinism on the course of historical events
There are many instances in history when the course of human events is determined by the geography and not merely by human will or action. One good example of this is the Nile River. The manner in which the Nile River flows and slowly floods its banks provided a natural irrigation with rich deposits of nutritious soils that created a well fed culture known as the Egyptians. Without the Nile, there would have been NO Egypt.
2. The Big “C”s ~ Conquest, Commerce, Colonization, & Conversion on the Course of History
This theme resonates throughout history and is the manner in which peoples, their cultures and their ideas, spread across the landscape. An obvious perfect example is the discovery of the New World and the subsequent conquest of the western hemispheric peoples, their often-times forced conversion to Christianity, and the purposeful colonization of the New World in order to advance commercial trade and build wealth for the Spanish Empire.
3. Causes and Effects in History ~ “what came first, the chicken or the egg?”
This historical theme is the very core of understanding the course of human events. Historical events do not occur in a vacuum ~ one event leads to another, which leads to another and in this manner we see how humans act, and mostly, react, to stimului of their times. Did the invention of the moveable type printing press in 15th century Europe cause a great surge in literacy OR did a desire to become more literate have the effect of finding faster ways to spread the written word? The argument is yours to make.
4. “Shoulda, Woulda, Couldas” ~ alternate histories with alternate endings
This is probably one of my favorite themes in history. What would have happened differently in the future course of history IF one important change were made to its past? IF ONLY HITLER HAD BEEN FATALLY WOUNDED IN WWI instead of recovering, OR if he had died from the gassings of the trenches in WWI. Would there have even been a WWII? Would there have been 60+ million lives lost in WWII? Would there have been a Holocaust? When you use this theme, you need to first discuss the actual history and then propose a viable alternate history based on a possible course change in the events. It has to be a plausible alternative.
5. Role of Economics in History ~ “money makes the world go around” or does it?
If I have said it once, I have said it a MILLION times = money DRIVES politics ~ it is NOT the other way around. Most actions of human beings, if not all, have an economic desire behind them, whether for food, land, power, security, etc., humans labor and toil to accomplish a goal that is always rooted in a desired end = using scarce resources, which have alternative uses, to achieve profitable results. When the early Islamic Empires conquered the known world, it was more desirable NOT to force Christians and Jews to convert, bec ...

Society is at the cusp of the 5th Industrial Revolution, which in reality is a New Renaissance as every aspect of life, work, and existence will change dramatically. The key to adapting to the new lifestyles and norms is to handle social and societal changes is to perform massive transformations. The problem is that governments and current institutions have no clue as to how to handle massive transformations. They do not have the right institutions in place or programs to handle such extensive transformations. This presentation offers a few clues as to what is happening and how to handle those massive ntransformations.
Analyzing the megatrends in society that affect the way people think, behave, live their lives, work with their elected officials, deal with capitalism, etc. The comparison of the first Renaissance vs. the New Renaissance is very telling. Most people do not fully understand the impact of the New Renaissance as we all suffer from the boiled frog syndrome.
We are only at the initial phase of the New Renaissance. Things will dramatically change for everyone in the next 20-50 years. The New Renaissance is a lot more than just another label to describe the Digital Age.
The New Renaissance coincides with the emergence of the 5th Industrial Revolution and super smart technologies, such as Quantum Computing and Generative Artificial Intelligence.

This presentation is aimed at helping students the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution because there are fears that 4IR will do more damage than good in society and millions of people will be unemployed. This is another big misunderstanding. This presentation explains the realities of the latest revolution.
This presentation is also offered to students with the purpose of understanding what is involved in the introduction of the 4th Industrial Revolution, a.k.a. Industry 4.0, CIM 4.0, and The Digital Age. It is important to grasp The Big Picture.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. “The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has
been 200 years.These nations have progressed through this
sequence:
▪ from bondage to spiritual faith;
▪ from spiritual faith to great courage;
▪ from courage to liberty;
▪ from liberty to abundance;
▪ from abundance to selfishness;
▪ from selfishness to complacency;
▪ from complacency to apathy;
▪ from apathy to dependence;
▪ from dependency back to into bondage”

Stagnation
3. As you shall see in this presentation, some
civilizations last well over 200 years, but this
is due to pure luck and extraneous
circumstances of prolonging the inevitable,
not due to successful leadership or effective
solutions that breathed new life into dying
civilizations and societies.
4. The English historian Edward Gibbon
published his first volume ofThe History of
the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire in
1776. His thesis was that the barbarians
ultimately overran the Roman Empire largely
because Roman citizens themselves had lost
their civic virtues. In particular, they had lost
sight of the discipline, industry and
toughness that once made them great.
5. This argument had special resonance in
Towne’s time. After a relatively prosperous
first half of the century, the 1760s had
brought economic crisis and civil unrest.
Social divides were intensifying. Some felt
that the new King, George III, who ruled from
1760 until 1801, was riding roughshod over
the civil liberties that had been re-established
by William III in 1688.
6. For critics, the nexus of all of this was
London: home of the monarchy and
Parliament, aristocratic excess and
commercial greed. And with overcrowding
issues – the city’s population nearly doubled
throughout the 1700s – those who wanted to
would, indeed, have seen plenty of signs of
social and civil breakdown.
7. Crime was so rampant that one gang even
tried to rob the Prince ofWales in St. James
Palace itself.Travelers to London remarked
that there were more prostitutes than in any
other European city. Sewage ran in the
Thames.
8. Frustrations sometimes spilled over into
violence: in the infamous Gordon Riots of
1780, rioters attacked members of the House
of Lords, sacked their homes, freed prisoners
and set buildings on fire – an event that
destroyed 10 times more property than was
lost in Paris during the entire French
Revolution. Let this be a warning to our
modern leaders!

Empires they were dead long before they
officially were declared dead.

Roman Empire 476 AD 192 AD
Byzantine Empire 1453 AD 1055 AD
41. Some civilizations left an impact well beyond
their demise, like the Athenian, Roman,
Chinese, Indian and Byzantine Empires. Their
remnants, cultures, inventions, thoughts,
philosophies … and artifacts stayed around
for decades and centuries after they were
declared officially dead and gone. They are
still influencing many modern civilizations
today
42. Some civilizations were good and beneficial,
while others were evil and detrimental to the
world. However, even the good ones had
their ups and downs and their dark side.
It is true that:
43. It is also true that the world needs the evil
empires (dynasties, caliphates, kingdoms …)
in order to cleanse itself of the “scum”
created by others --- and all empires create
scum (similar to the slime left behind by
snails). It is an inevitable fact that not
everyone in the empire can stay in lockstep
mode and move with the same speed as the
majority. Eventually, the slime overwhelms
the entire empire and civilization
44. Criminals
Oddballs and demented people
Mentally ill people that cannot cope with
progress, changes and transformation
Misfits and cast-offs that refuse to conform

51. Civilizations fall apart mostly on their own
Civilizations grow to a level that they cannot
sustain themselves; they rise to their level of
incompetence --- just like enterprises
Civilizations collapse under their own weight;
people do not know how to manage large
scale civilizations (or enterprises) --- at least
not yet
People are too arrogant to realize their
limitations and learn from history
52. WHY?
Because we think that we
are smarter now than ever
before!
Because we don’t want to
deal with negative
thoughts!
We would rather forget!
53. Most political leaders are nothing more than loud mouthed idiots!
In this case, they’d convinced people to cut down all their trees, not
realizing that they were destroying their ecosystem and their society
… similar to what is happening today in many parts of the world!!!

4. Loss of interest (blame “been there, done that”

55. YES, if it is aimed at denigrating, demeaning
and vilifying the accomplishments of great
civilizations and emphasizing or highlighting the
endeavors of lesser or even bizarre civilizations
and cultures. Some civilizations are going as far
as to invent accomplishments in order to elevate
their status in modern societies and their
importance in history. It is important for them
to feel important, but the truth is …
57. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to
live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the
murder of about 20 million people
The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population
was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a
staggering 70 million people
The average Japanese individual prior toWorld War II was not a
warmongering sadist.Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its
way across S.E.Asia in an orgy of killing that included the
systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians
And who can forget the Germans, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans,
Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and so many
others who have died because the peaceful majority did not
speak up or do anything until it was too late
58. Myth 1: All civilizations and people are
created equal
