This document summarizes a talk given by Peter Coles at the Dark Energy Survey Collaboration Meeting on October 22nd 2014 about why the standard cosmology model is not boring. The talk discussed how cosmology involves compressing a huge amount of data into simple models and ingredients like inflation, dark matter, and dark energy. It noted there are questionable aspects of the standard model and anomalies in the CMB data like the low quadrupole and parity asymmetry that could indicate new physics. The talk concluded that while the easy questions have been answered, cosmology will start to get more interesting now that we have a better idea of what to ask.
