15th Annual Meeting of the South-East European Experts Network on Intangible Cultural Heritage Periodic Reporting as a Strategic Tool for Safeguarding Living Heritage in South-East Europe Online, 6-7 July 2021

1. 15TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE REGIONAL
NETWORK OF EXPERTS ON INTANGIBLE
CULTURAL HERITAGE IN SOUTH-EAST
EUROPE

2. What has been done to date
The periodic report form has been translated into
Bulgarian for better communication and
explanation;
New letters have been prepared for institutions
and organizations requesting information;
A small working group was formed within the
team of the Ministry;

3. - A meeting was held with experts on intangible
cultural heritage from the Institute of Ethnology and
Folklore with the Ethnographic Museum at the
Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to get acquainted
with the parts of the report;
- A meeting was held with the regional expert-advisory
and information centers “Chitalishta”.

4. What are the next steps
A meeting of the National Council for Intangible
Cultural Heritage, an advisory body to the Minister
of Culture, is forthcoming in July;
 Again in July, the ministry plans a meeting of
organizations and representatives of communities
with elements included in the UNESCO
Representative List.

5. We envisage special visits to populated
areas where elements of the World List are
observed for observation and collection of
information and examples;
We expect to receive written answers from institutions and organizations
in order to start working on the form.

7. We have created a work plan:
 September - October - systematization of the
received information, holding additional
meetings and consultations;
 November - discussion of a version of the
report in the National Council for Intangible
Cultural Heritage - editing, supplementing,
translation into English; presentation of the
report to the Minister of Culture;
 December - sending the report.
