Seven Stories of Social Media Legal RiskRyan Garcia
These are the slides that were used during my keynote address at the 2014 Charleston Law Review Symposium on Social Media and the Law. The YouTube video of my keynote can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llRz72q_cyI&feature=youtu.be
A short presentation on the role, importance and power of insights and how to find them. The original has loads of ads as examples that I have had to remover from this slideshare
Flawless Project Delivery is discipline that merges risk management, leading edge statistical analysis, advanced people management and leadership skills. These slides from a 30 minute lecture I deliver on the subject. Flawless improves outcomes in the billions. Not for the faint hearted in execution as it required courage and out the box leadership.

The advent of the modern web is nothing short of a revolution on the scale of moveable type. Digital Everything takes brief look at how things have changed, and the revolution yet to come.

“Medium, Message, and Mutation.”
Exploring (some) principles of Evolutionary Theory applied to (some) communication technology, this will be a discussion on how our capture and creation of the Human Story has in fact affected the Human Story. In other words, a fanciful tale linking interactive stories, community building, and digital behaviour through the progression from cave drawings to ink to printing press to typewriter to the smartphone and beyond.
Michael has 15 years of experience in Europe and North America as a strategist and creative leader of integrated digital marketing, interactive TV, mobile, social media, and retail campaigns for global brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Unilever, Microsoft, and Starbucks. His arrival accompanies Invoke Labs, a separate incubation company that focuses on developing products.
The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

Artificial intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities to radically reinvent the way we do business. This study explores how CEOs and top decision makers around the world are responding to the transformative potential of AI.
3. Sunday night:
As the workday approaches, boredom sets in, and the woman in tech looks to her
computer to try to stave off the dull. However, as most of her friends have a social
life / family, no one is online.
4. Monday:
There is a persistent rumor in the startup world that Mondays should be joyous
things and that you’re so eager to get started on your project that you feel like a
regular (non-startup) Joe on a Friday at 4 PM. I can neither confirm nor deny the
veracity of this statement, as the Startup Police would come after me.
6. Wednesday:
You sit on a panel in the conference, and the presenter refers to you as a “woman in tech.”
You’re not sure whether to be flattered, or whether there’s just more pressure on you now not
to say something dumb.
7. Thursday:
Back at work, you push the limits of what you know and do something you’ve
never done before. Instead of bragging, you celebrate internally—or happy dance.
8. Friday:
You get some unexpected recognition, but someone tries to rain on your parade…
9. Saturday:
You attempt a social outing with a non-startup friend. (For those of you in
startups, that’s a popular band’s shirt…)
10. Ultimately, your week isn’t that different than it would be for a guy in
tech. You’ve networked, gotten stuff done, and tried desperately to kill
off your rapid inbox.
What’s so different about being a woman in tech?
11. “SURE, HE [FRED ASTAIRE] WAS
GREAT, BUT DON’T FORGET
GINGER ROGERS DID
EVERYTHING HE DID…
BACKWARDS AND IN HEELS.”
—Bob Thaves, in “Frank and Earnest”
